JibJab Readies to Skewer the News Business
ABC News’ Clayton Sandell Reports: The Internet animators at JibJab will premiere their latest production at Wednesday’s annual Radio & Television Correspondents’ dinner in Washington DC, and politicos and journalists everywhere are on pins and needles in wary anticipation.
The clip, entitled "What We Call the News!" takes a swipe at TV news infatuation with celebrities like Britney Spears and Anna Nicole Smith. Cable anchors and pundits like Anderson Cooper and Geraldo Rivera take a beating, but no, we didn’t see anyone from ABC News (thankfully).
You can see the clip for yourself at about 7:00 PM eastern time at JibJab.com.
While President Bush — a past target of JibJab ridicule — is scheduled to attend tonight’s dinner, he is mostly spared and only appears briefly at the end.
JibJab garnered a great deal of attention for their parody of the 2004 presidential race in a piece entitled "This Land," which featured a crayon-wielding President Bush and a Botox-shooting John Kerry combatively singing their assurances of electoral success.
