Andrew Card Likes Jon Stewart but not Henry Waxman?

ABC News’ Jake Tapper Reports: The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee is meeting Wednesday, April 25 to consider subpoenas for other Bush administration officials on a number of issues.

This includes former Bush White House chief of staff Andrew Card, whom the chairman of the Committee, Rep. Henry Waxman, D-Calif., is seeking to testify before the committee about the leak of former CIA operative Valerie Plame’s identity.

White House counsel Fred Fielding earlier this month refused to allow Card to testify.

In his letter to Card, Waxman took issue with Card’s refusal to testify about the Plame matter since he discussed the issue on a comedy chat show this week.

"On April 16,2007, you appeared on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and discussed the leak of Ms. Wilson’s identity," Waxman writes. "Mr. Fielding’s position appears to be that it is appropriate for you to discuss these matters on The Daily Show, but not before a congressional committee. You will not be surprised to learn that I take a different view of this matter."

The other subpoenas the committee will consider next week deal with the RNC email accounts used by White House officials and contacts between the White House and a defense contractor implicated in bribery charges.
