Frankly, Mrs. Snowe: It’s ‘Disgraceful’
ABC News’ Jennifer Parker Reports: Senator Olympia Snowe, R-Maine, pleaded for civility from both Republicans and Democrats on the Iraq war issue Thursday.
"We should be sitting around a table trying to work this through like men and women who are representing our constituencies and respective branches of government," Snowe said on ‘Politics Live’ airing on the ABC News Now digital channel.
Asked about the war of words between Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., and Vice-President Dick Cheney, Snowe said: "I think it’s frankly disgraceful and it denigrates the process, but more importantly it ill serves the American people at a very difficult time and chapter in American history."
Both sides should be working together on a solution, she said. Instead, Iraq has been used as a political scorecard.
"They’re always looking to score a political point," Snowe said. "But what does that say for our men and women in uniform who are over there fighting each and every day and putting their lives on the line? That’s what we should be concerned about. Not about the politics, not about the next campaign."

I think that Mrs. Snowe is right they should worry aboyut more important things she stated such as their troops risking the lives to save us from harm.

Well, well. It’s a bit like the pot calling the kettle black. What did SHE ever contribute to “working together” when the Republicans were in the majority??
