Obama to Give Foreign Policy Speech

ABC News’ Jonathan Greenberger Reports: Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., will be giving a foreign policy address before the Chicago Council on Global Affairs Tuesday afternoon, his campaign confirms to ABC News. 

This is the first significant foreign policy speech planned for the senator since he announced his candidacy for the 2008 presidential election in February. The speech may be designed as a response to Obama’s critics, who have argued the senator has yet to focus on making substantive policy proposals.

Obama’s speech will comes on the heels of a series of foreign policy addresses by other presidential contenders. 

Republican presidential candidates Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., and former Gov. Mitt Romney, R-Mass., as well as Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Chris Dodd, D-Conn., all gave similar addresses this past week.
