Obama Pays Tribute

ABC News’ Jonathan Greenberger Reports: The campaign website of ’08 presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill, has been altered in reaction to the Virginia Tech tragedy.

The Obama campaign website homepage now goes to an all-black page with only the following text:

"Today, we are a grieving and shocked nation. Violence has once again taken too many young people from this world. In Blacksburg, they were daughters. They were sons. They were our nation’s new leaders. We mourn them. We will miss them, and we pray for their families and the injured fighting for their lives. ~Barack Obama"

There is then a button to click to continue to the regular homepage.

A tasteful and heartfelt acknowledgement that our country is in mourning…and that it takes courage to face that fear. We will be there to help each other.

A Black web page!
Is this some kind of sick, racist joke?
The webmaster will most definitely be out of work by the time I’m finished with this one.

to the previous comment from the Reverend, black is the usual color for mourning. it has nothing to do with race. some people just can’t see outside their own soapbox. *sigh*

I am also grieving and upset for all who are involved. Let’s all take a moment and pray for an answer to this violence. Tess, if you look at who posted the comment it was Reverend CAL Sharpton. I think it was posted with a little humor.
