Romney 1st Quarter Haul Tops Giuliani
ABC News’ Matt Stuart Reports: The Romney campaign announced Monday that it has raised an eye-popping $20.63 million in the first quarter, topping poll leader Rudy Giuliani who raised "nearly" $17 million.
The Romney figure is made all the more impressive by the fact that all of it can be used on his bid for the GOP’s presidential nomination; Romney’s campaign elected not to raise any general election funds.
The Romney campaign, which raised its funds from all 50 states plus the District of Columbia, also reported Monday that the former Massachusetts governor has loaned his presidential campaign $2.35 million. He also transferred $20,000 transferred from his 1994 Senate campaign, in which he lost to Democratic incumbent Sen. Edward Kennedy, D-Mass.
As of this writing, Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., had not yet announced his campaign’s fundraising totals.

Mitt is honest and has more integrity than all of the field put together. He has the family values this country needs to move us into the future. He is brilliant. USA needs him!

Regardless of how far Romney distances himself from the positions that got him elected governor of Massachusetts, he’s only polling 6% of likely Republican voters — a distant 5th place. With so little integrity, you’ve got to wonder who the nuts are that are writing checks. Then again, if you look at the rest of the Republican field, the new king of flip-floppers might very well be the GOP’s best and brightest. Is it any wonder that “Republican” has become so toxic in the mind of voters?
