ABC’s Jake Whitman Reports:  Republican Mitt Romney plans to resume TV advertising in Iowa and New Hampshire today.

The leading Republican fundraiser is using the television ads to target early voting in the two states.

Romney is going after fiscal conservatives by focusing on his pledge to cap discretionary federal spending other than that dedicated to the military.

The former Massachusetts governor estimates the plan would save 300 (b) billion dollars over 10 years.

Romney says as President he would veto any bill that fails to cap the spending.

"And I know how to veto. I like vetoes. I’ve vetoed hundreds of spending appropriations as Governor," Romney says in the ad, "And frankly, I can’t wait to get my hands on Washington!"

The spot can be viewed on Romney’s Website.  LINK

Spokesman Kevin Madden tells the Associated Press the ad will run in both states, but would not provide the specific amount being spent.

The new ad blitz comes just days after Romney announced that he had raised 23 (m) million dollars for his campaign during the first three months of the year, topping the rest of the Republican field.
