Giuliani and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day

y,"I went to sleep with gum in my mouth and now there’s gum in my hair and when I got out of bed this morning I tripped on the skateboard and by mistake I dropped my sweater in the sink while the water was running and I could tell it was going to be a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day," says Alexander.

abc tapper giuliani3 070621 blog Giuliani and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day

That’s how the famous CHILDREN’S BOOK begins, and the GOP frontrunner must know how he feels.
Within a more-or-less 24 hour period…

Serious questions were raised about why former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani left the Iraq Study Group (LINK)…

His protégé left the GOP and hinted that he might want to pursue the presidency himself (LINK)…

His South Carolina chairman was indicted for dealing cocaine (LINK)…

His chief Iowa adviser was tapped to become the new director of the Office of Management and Budget (LINK)…(Quick quiz — which fate is worse? Jail or OMB?)

And the guru of Iowa reporters, offended by Hizzoner’s lateness to an event, called him "rude" (LINK)

“In politics, some weeks are more interesting than others. This week was a case in point," says Giuliani spox Katie Levinson. "Our campaign is looking forward and we’re thrilled about the support Rudy continues to receive across the country."

I knew from the first paragraph that this book excerpt couldn’t possibly be describing Mayor Giuliani, since the character spoke of his hair, something the Mayor hasn’t seen in a mirror for quite some time. But the rest of the incidents you cite just show that the Mayor is now subject to full-court press scrutiny as a presidential candidate. And as for the answer to your quick quiz, it’s obvious: you wouldn’t want to wish the fate of OMB on anyone!

the specter of Bloomy is also a minus for Giuliani – more so than any of the other presidential hopefuls, I think.

Interesting that nothing is brought up about Hilary or Obama unethical behaviors here, just Rudy. Are we becoming a Left wing voicebox?
He left the Iraq Study group because it was a Left-wing propaganda machine and he did not want to be put in the careless of partisan organization which was 100% wrong on their analogies.
As far as someone in his campaign doing drugs, well the libs loved a President who did it himself. oh sorry he did not inhale :)

For supposedly having such a terrible week, Rudy Giuliani is still ahead in most polls.
As for Mike “The Midget” Bloomberg, I think he would take Jewish votes away from Hilary.

Jake: Another great cartoon. While
still in front, Giuliani can’t be
happy. Especially now there’s another non candidate.
Spock:
First let me say that I agree with you about Ravenel. A staffer’s actions should not reflect on a candidate.
However,
1. Can you tell me what sections of sections of the Iraq Study Group’s report were biased or partisan, and which analogies were off (feel free to sight chapter and verse.)I can’t consider your point if I don’t know exactly what it is.
2. Which of Obama’s scandals were you referring to was it that
a. He couldn’t remember which magazine he read 35 years ago when he was 9
b. He paid full price for a plot of land in the wrong place
c. He owned a blind trust that he sold when he found out there could be a conflict of interest.
d. He didn’t attend a Madrasah when he was a child and he is not a Muslim
e. He is a smoker (or rather he was a smoker.)
3. And Which of Hilary’s scandals were you referring to was it
a. white water (insufficient evidence)
b. Vince Foster’s suicide (no evidence)
c. travel gate (no evidence)
d. file gate (no credible evidence)
e. Bill’s affair with Monica (while true and despicable, how does this make Hilary look bad.)
f. Her hair’s identity problem.
ps. Everything on Hilary in parenthesis (except e.) was taken from the independent counsels own report, not “lib” propaganda.
If there’s any scandal I’ve missed please tell me so I can look it up. I want to make sure I vote for a good next president.

At least Rudy has that day behind him. It’s not likely to get much worse. It’s funny that when you report the news, which was actually all new, someone is going to complain that you didn’t ressurrect something previously reported, making you a liberal left winger. When you reported on Clinton campaign issues, I don’t remember the same concern that you weren’t even in your reporting because you had nothing bad to say about a Republican.

Yorick I am unsure where you are coming from but here goes
1 – The fact that the Study group came back with the Libs talking points about Talking with Iran and Syria known facilitators of Terrorism is the main issue. I do not have a day to lis the rest. But it has been U.S Policy and others not to negotiate with Terrorist.
2 – As side track for Obama first – Can not remember is not excuse just look at Libby. But anyhow
Don’t care if he smokes, that is ridiculous to care.
It seems Obama either has no control of his staff or he like to blame others for his mistakes.
His own book cites his issues
He has NO experience. Now the school he went to was a Wahabbi (ie., extremist Sunni) Madrassa (Islamic religious academy) He has not denied it. This is located in a Muslim Country, we all know what goes on there. His name is Muslim. So come on, his explanation made it worse. Rezko contributed thousands of dollars and raised thousands more as Obama ran for the Illinois legislature, the U.S. House and the U.S. Senate. He even was involved in Obama’s purchase of a family home. Now Rezko faces federal charges as the central figure in an Illinois corruption scandal. Do you think Obama did not know?? If so I got a bridge to sell you.
As far as Hilary, Please tell me how I can make millions from a thousand dollars. Of by the way Bill’s cheating has nothing to with her either, actually the fact that she tried to work it out gives her a positive, oops sorry she only worked it out for political gain.
Also look at his record in Ill.
Just because an Independent counsel (yeah right) said theres no evidence. What about the Federal AG that was fired investigating her when Clinton fired 92 AG’s investigating Whitewater, What about the investigative report that is not being released. Please just because she is good at covering up does not make her clean.
Theres more but again don’t have the time.

Rudy’s terrible, horrible day is becoming his terrible horrible run for the Presidency. Both he and Fred “is it Miller Time yet” Thompson walked away from serving America after 9-11 to make big bucks. At least Fred doesn’t have the deaths of first responders on his conscience (not that it bothers Rudy all that much).Since Rudy never attended a single ISG meeting (too busy cashing in on those dead cops and firemen), how could he “know” what the outcome would be?
At least Rudy is honest in his pro-abortion, pro-gay, anti-gun positions.
It’s kind of pathetic that the best the GOP has to offer for 2008 is an undeclared guy who dozed through a term and a half in the Senate and helped kick Dick Nixon out of office. Oh yeah, one with a trophy wife too. Just to keep up with Rudy, in spousal quality, if not spousal quantity.

Spock: I’m going to have to do this in sections due to lack of time
You ask where I’m coming from. I am an independent who is tired of people (both right and left) using vague statements, and refusing to use specifics. I questioned you because you were the last person to do this when I decided to write. At least now we’ve got a real debate going.
On Obama:
I agree with you on Obama’s smoking. You must have missed the day that ABC reported that Obama smokes. The news was willed with stories like “Will America Vote for a Smoker.” Most sane people don’t think that his smoking would be a problem, but most news orginisations just want something to fill their pages.
As for his continually blaming his staff: Right on! Regardless of who wrote the memo, Obama should take responsibility for his staff’s actions. While he can’t control his staff’s every action, he should make clear the underlying principals of his campaign.
The difference between Obama and Libby is that Obama forgot which magazine he read when he was 9 and Libby lied about what he did when he was 52 (or maybe Libby just has a poor memory.)
As for his attending a madrasah:
He has denied it (see http://obama.senate.gov/press/070123-debunked_insigh/) He attended a public school for two years and a Catholic school for two years. Most of the students and teachers at the public school were Muslim (like most people in Indonesia,) but that does not make it a madrasah. It’s like the difference between going to a school with mostly Catholics (say any school in Albuquerque,) and attending a Catholic school.
As for his name:
Why does he have a Kenyan last name? Could it be that his father was Kenyan? (by the way he was an atheist when Obama was born not a Muslim. Obama is a Christian.) Barack, while a common name in both Arabic and Swahili, was originally a Hebrew name (see Judges 4) although most English translations use an alternate spelling.
Yes he has LITTLE experience. Two other famous presidents with little experience: Abraham Lincoln (no national experience,) and John F. Kennedy (eight years in the House.) A famous President with a lot of experience: Richard Nixon. Despite his experience he accurately predicted the results of the Iraq war, while Pres. Bush and his advisers charged blindly on.
Finally on Rezko: Obama did nothing illegal (unless I’ve missed something new.) He is not under investigation, and he donated the money Rezko gave him to charity when he found out that Rezko had been indicted (yes this was a political move. He is a politician after all.)
Glad to see that you’re using specifics.
More on Hillary and the Iraq study report later.
