Does Mr. Giuliani feel so secure in his position as a candidate that he can afford to skip the Iowa Straw Poll and alienate potential voters? I suspect he’s a tad overconfident and that he’ll pay for his hubris later on.

He is making a mistake, Some people use the outcome of a Strawpoll to see who is the stroges to either donate and vote for. Its like a Quiz, it shows where someone stands before the test.

Don’t forget that a similar decision basically ended Wesley Clark’s campaign and Joe Lieberman’s campaign (I think), when Kerry surprsed everyone, won Iowa, and then crushed in NH. Now Giuliani’s campaign has far more national momentum than Clark’s and Lieberman’s did, but I’m just saying.

this is a straw poll, NOT the caucus/primary…it was the IA caucus that Kerry won (and Dean screamed)
the sad fact is that it has become too expensive to campaign everywhere a candidate needs/wants to…

phillygirl64 – you are so right with all these states moving up the primaries also is a greater cost burden.
