‘Steady’ Mrs. Romney Vouches for Her Beau
ABC News’ Sunlen Miller Reports: Democratic Senator Hillary Clinton isn’t the only presidential candidate deploying her spouse in a key election state. Republican candidate Mitt Romney has unleashed his own spousal weapon, Ann Romney, onto the airwaves in Iowa and New Hampshire.
A new radio campaign ad debuting Thursday features the wife of the former governor of Massachusetts talking about his devotion to family.
"Mitt says his greatest success is being able to say ‘I’ve been a good father, and a good husband’," Mrs. Romney says in the sixty second ad, "Mitt says there’s no work more important than what goes on within the four walls of the American home. And that’s the way it was in our home."
This isn’t the first time that Mrs. Romney has spoken publicly about her husband, their marriage and their family.
In a speech in Boston earlier this year, Mrs. Romney said she is often asked what sets her husband apart from the rest of the Republican candidates.
"He only has one wife," she responded.
Her comments prompted many to assume she was attacking other Republican candidates, like Senator John McCain, R-Ariz., or former Mayor Rudy Giuliani, R-N.Y., who have been divorced in the past.
On ABC News’ "This Week with George Stephanopoulos," Mrs. Romney countered, "I was really joking about the Mormon thing and only having one wife."
Romney himself often speaks about his family, and their thirty-eight year marriage, on the campaign trail. He often singles her out during his speeches, calling her "sweetheart" and other terms of endearment in front of crowds.
The radio ad, released by the Romney campaign Thursday, is one more window into the Romney’s relationship.
"We met in high school at a party," Mrs. Romney says in the ad, "and we’ve been going steady ever since."
Mrs. Romney will continue to hit the campaign trail. She is scheduled to campaign for her husband next week in South Carolina.

Obama Backs Off Birth Control Battle?
OK, sure, gotta hand it to him–he’s been loyal and good to his wife but whatever! Mormonism is still a totally whacky religion. But, hey, I won’t let that get in the way of considering any candidate for Prez.

Well said, MASHUP, especially considering JFK and his Whacky Papists
oh, and Nixon and his Whacky Quakers.
You certainly know how to turn a ” politically correct” phrase.
