Tancredo Mocks GOP Rivals for Snubbing NAACP

ABC News’ Teddy Davis Reports: Upon taking the stage at the NAACP’s forum for GOP presidential candidates, Rep. Tom Tancredo, R-Colo., mocked his Republican rivals for skipping the event.

Watch the video HERE.

"Should we wait a few minutes for these guys to show up," asked a grinning Tancredo.

Tancredo was making light of the fact that all nine of his GOP rivals currently in the race skipped the chance to talk Thursday to the civil rights group in Detroit.

In contrast to the paltry attendance at the GOP forum, all eight Democratic presidential candidates accepted the NAACP’s invitation.

"Quite a difference," said Sen. Chris Dodd, D-Conn., during the Democratic presidential forum. "Only one Republican shows up, every Democrat is here."

Why on earth would Republicans speak before a group of racist liberals who profess hatred of Republicans?
That would be … odd.

Yea.. quite a difference. All the Democrats are happy to show up for a convention of a once great, useful, important institution but is now nothing more than a racist, money-grabbing hole for opportunistic windbags.

Must not have been on Fox.

It’s no wonder GOP candidates skipped this convention. With NAACP’s Julian Bond spouting his extremely offensive, racist and anti-American beliefs to the assembled members, why would any legitimate American want to support, let alone attend such a vicious group’s meetings?
Get right with America first before you expect mainstream support from America.

I love Tom but I think that the other candidates knew that going to the NAACP was a big fat waste of time. Tom will be ribbed forever as the token Repub and what advantage we he have form that title?
Everyone who has half a brain knows that the folks who subscribe to the racist ideology of the NAACP are Dems.

Why would anyone bother to attend the NAACP?
The NAACP is basically a group of hypocritical racists with no leadership. Who would want to be associated with that? besides Democrats?

Oh, so those who criticise the NAACP for things they’ve said and done are racists? Good grief, if anyone is racist, it’s the NAACP!!!

Tancredo showed courage. President Bush I used to attend the NAACP meetings. I respected him for going someplace where people disagreed with him. It takes no guts to go only where you are liked and welcomed. In any case, how does the
GOP expect to show Blacks that they consider them part of the mainstream if they ignore invitations from one of their oldest institutions. You can’t change someone’s mind by ignoring them.

Tancredo’s message that America, is the last best hope of western civilization…can be given to any group of American citizens.
Now if that group chooses to stay on the socialist train and call themselves hyphenated Americans…that’s their free choice.

I was interested in finding out more about Tancredo – the candidate – until I read this…
