Anti-Giuliani Newspaper Ad in Ames Tribune

ABC News’ Jake Tapper Reports: In anticipation of tomorrow’s Iowa Straw Poll, the conservative Catholic group Fidelis is running a newspaper ad in today’s Ames Tribune attacking former NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani, a Catholic and supporter of abortion rights, as having a "pro- abortion record."

"Mayor Giuliani: 3 Decades of Active Support for Abortion," the headline reads.

The ad states: "Rudy Giuliani wants the people in Iowa to know him as the tough on crime former Mayor of New York. What he doesn’t want us to know, is that he has a long and consistent record of support for abortion."

The ad can be viewed HERE.

This week when a voter asked Giuliani if he’s a "traditional, practicing Roman Catholic," he responded: "My religious affiliation, my religious practices and the degree to which I am a good or not-so-good Catholic, I prefer to leave to the priests."

Giuliani spokesperson Maria Comella responded Friday, "This election is not about labels, it’s about moving our country forward by getting real results.  And it couldn’t be more clear that Mayor Giuliani is the only Republican candidate with the proven experience and strong leadership to be able to do just that."

Not too many people care what you said or didn’t say, Mr Giuliani.
