Clinton To Give Away Controversial Cash
ABC News’ Eloise Harper Reports: Presidential hopeful Sen. Hillary Clinton D-N.Y., will give to charity donations from a fundraiser in California who is wanted for failing to appear for sentencing on a grand theft charge, her campaign said Wednesday. Campaign spokesperson Phil Singer told ABC News "In light of the new information regarding Mr. Hsu’s outstanding warrant in California, we will be giving his contributions to charity."
In all the Clinton campaign will give away $23,000 from Norman Hsu, whose legal troubles and ties to Democratic donors was first scrutinized by the Wall Street Journal this week.
The Clinton campaign cited information regarding Hsu’s outstanding warrant in California as the reason for the donation. The amount being given to charity includes contributions Hsu made to Clinton’s presidential campaign, her Senate re-election campaign, and her political action committee. The campaign does not plan to return any money Hsu raised from other donors.
Hsu responded to the charges that he has an outstanding warrant Wednesday saying he believed he had resolved his legal issues and was unaware that he faced a warrant.
"I believe I properly resolved all of the legal issues related to my bankruptcy in the early 1990s. Therefore, I was surprised to learn that there appears to be an outstanding warrant – as demonstrated by the fact that I have and do live a public life. I have not sought to evade any of my obligations and certainly not the law," Hsu said in a statement.

This headline is so pathetically tame. It should read “Hillary Clinton fundraiser Norman Hsu is fugitive for grand theft”. Why are you people at ABC so blatantly pro-Hillary?!

And why is this story buried over 10 stories deep? Other news sites have it near the top.
Posted by: bob | August 29, 2007, 9:09 pm 9:09 pm
The censorship by omission on this story is amazing in the mainstream media. I am surprised that ABC even carried it at all, though they convieniently leave out the rest of the story about how on top of Hsu’s own donations, among those who have “bundled” their contributions along with Hsu’s is one San Francisco family of seven adults whose home is small and under the airport flight path, jobs are average and $213,000 in donations are closely coordinated with Hsu’s.
Oh well, let the mainstream media help her win the nomination. Then she can down in flames in the genera election.

Every politician receives dubious donations. People gang up on Hillary Clinton because they don’t like Bill Clinton. Vent your frustrations elsewhere. She could have kept the money and said nothing.
There are soldiers in harms way–vent about that and the rotten administration of the Green Zone in 2003 and on.

Hsu pleaded guilty to bilking investors out of a million dollars. He also is involved in the indonesian textile market that pays children 10 cents an hour so democrats can have his donations.
Typical liberal hypocracy

Why would this surprise anyone? Democrat is the party of choice for criminals. On average, 74 percent of felons would have voted Democrat in presidential and U.S. Senate elections dating back to 1972, and 86 percent for the Clinton years. Why is Hillary and Kerry pushing their “Count Every Vote Act”? Because it will force every state to let felons vote, which, by the way, violates the 14th amendment. Can’t say I blame them, if felons had voted in 2000 it would have swung the election. I will however have to give democrat voters credit on party loyalty right to the end………and even beyond. They are more successful at voting after death than Republicans, by a margin of four-to-one.

If, and I say if any of the Democrats, especially Billary, come close to winning the whitehouse (ha-ha), this country will be in far worse shape than what Bush will have left it in. You may not like Bush, but he is doing his best to clean up the mess the whitehouse and congress are in after the likes of Carter and the first worthless Clinton engaged in their political antics. Carter was more worried about his peanut farm.

By the way Clinton, it doesn’t matter what charitable, non-profit organization you claim you will donate the money to, it is sure to be an organization that you and Bill own or backs your flip-flopping agenda. So why don’t you just keep it? I’m sure your sneaky self and whoever is running your campaign will manage to funnel it right back into your democratic coffer or should I say your pockets!

Poor Joe, cannot remembner that Carter is a moral man that suffered the misfortune of an oil embargo. What would your half wit puppet do under those concditions? Get another drink I guess. He has slept at the switch whiule the most corrupt men in the Government’s history sold out our jobs, created a huge public debt on top of the last moron’s (Reagan) and started a war we had no stake in to steal the Iraqi oil. Clinton – Bill, was not a worthless president. His administration turned the broken and battered nation around, maybe imperfectly to be sure . So, Joe, just why do you hate this country so much that you would propose another Bushite being anywhere but a Federal prison? Clinton end your welfare checks ?

If any of you think there are candidates up for presidential election that don’t have skeletons in their closet, you only read the major headlines. Let’s use common sense… the $23,000 is a drop in the bucket. If the campaign is run like anything else associated to government, she’s gonna be over budget by a lot more than $23,000. Who cares where it came from.

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out who and what he is out for. He is for the very rich and I can see those people taking up for him. He has saved them billions of dollars since in office. He is a murderer plain and simple. He is killing our young men and women. He is the killer not the iraq government. Those people have had their strong faith since the beginning of time. Mr George or no one else will ever change them. We may have faith and believe but not one of us will die for it. Those people will die in a second for their beliefs. It is a war that we will never win. Those who think it will happen may I welcome you to fantasy land because that is surely where you are living.

What happen to the statement the big fraudS Pelosi and Reid said about reaching across the aisle to work with the Reps? Heck the democrats have done nothing but added salt to the wound Bush inflicted since they took over. Face it, when it comes to effective politics, the democrats have lost their way, FOREVER!

Susan McDugall went to jail for her principals! Ken Starr spent $87 MILLION investigating a FAILED land deal that was worth a small fraction of that ammount, and all he could come up with was Monica Lewinsky – and he had to be handed that on a silver freaking platter! GWB has been the biggest disaster as a president this country has ever seen. When he took office, we had a $500 Billion budget surplus, and were paying down the national debt. Since GWB took office he’s had to ask Congress to RAISE the debt ceiling at least three times. His personal war has cost the taxpayer in the neighborhood of the $500 billion surplus we used to have, and he doesn’t want it to end (it’s been very good for certain big businesses). He’s had more officials in trouble than the past three democratic administrations combined, and he pledged to return respectability to the White House. All you rabid republicans need to get your shots! And stop drinking GWB’s Kool-Aid – it’s going to kill you for sure!

Oh – my wife is an attorney and works here in DC – the president and attorney general can fire anyone for any reason that works under them — the mistake Lil’Alberto and GWB made was saying the prosecutors were doing a lousy job – which they were not – when they just should have let them go and hired new people.
Kinda like what Hillary did to the entire staff of the white house travel department when Bill took office – look it up. She had every right to do so but it was still a shi*ty thing to do.

They have been bought out time and time again. They have much more to gain than any President.

She give the money away to charity and these lock step ditto heads use it to complain. The reason the Republican Leadership is scared of the Clintons is because Bill was very successful at running the country and very popular. The country was better because of them. We’re they happy. Nooooo. They seem like they want a crappy country and GW is doing their bidding. There’s a reason why Bill C. had nearly a 70% approval rating, and the Republican Leadership can’t stand it!!!
So lets bash Hillary!!!

What I find interesting is no one is suggesting she (and anyone else who accepted tainted money) return it to the people that were defrauded. The rest of this is just political blathering, though the person that said the economy is in the tank should look at the facts and not just the headlines.

These kind of things make me ill. She got this money from a person of questionable background anyway and somebody discovered it so she is now going to give it to charity as though that will wash it clean but guess what that does not it just means she no longer has it but someone else has it.
She I cannot stand her anyway if she gets into the White House that just means he will be our President again of which I am not looking forward to at all.

Posted by: CINDY | August 30, 2007, 10:15 am 10:15 am
Sen. Clinton, along with many other Democrats, including, I believe, Sen. Obama, received campaign donations from someone with a criminal record. When the Senator found out, she arranged to give the money to charity. So far, I don’t hear what she’s done wrong. Unfortunately, there’s no law stopping criminals from making campaign contributions, and candidates can’t be expected to vet the background of each person (around 50,000 have contributed to Sen. Clinton’s presidential run alone) who gives money to their campaigns. Remember these reasons because you’ll hear them again when, inevitably, other campaigns find themselves the recipients of questionable donations. If you don’t like this system, then you should work extra-hard for public financing. Oh, and after 6 years and millions of dollars spent pursuing the Clintons on campaign finance violations, exactly how much time did they spend in the big house? Okay then.

Now people here is a clue… that is what Hitler did in Germany… he controlled the media and we know the rest of that communist story. Millions of people were murdered for disagreeing or being of the wrong race and the people turned a blind eye. Don’t take anything personal – as I originally stated both Republicans and Democrats have lost their way. And unless you vote, you will not make a difference.
If you truly believe your Republicans are not doing anything incorrect, there are no cheaters on broad, then you are naiveté. Time will tell everything – History will show the true doers in office.
Yes, you are correct Bush did not avoid the military – one comment to his military record, though, very often he was no where to be found. He had a military record – and there may be many questions to his record. Don’t take it personal – it’s simply a fact of record. Where did I get my information from the same place you got yours, all these facts come from Freedom of Information requests, public laws, and various books that have been published. Look I am an American and like many other Americans I am disappointed with our current administration. Bush did not have to clean up any previous administration’s mess he made his own mess leaving the next administration to resolve his problems whether it be Republican or Democratic. Don’t take it personal – he just was not cut out for the job.

Speaking of losing their way… Sue from Texas, try this one on for size:
House #1 A 20 room mansion ( not including 8 bathrooms ) heated by
natural gas. Add on a pool ( and a pool house) and a separate guest house, all heated by gas. In one month this residence consumes more energy than the average American household does in a year. The average bill for electricity and natural gas runs over $2400. In natural gas alone, this property consumes more than 20 times the national average for an American home. This house is not situated in a Northern or Midwestern “snow belt” area. It’s in the South.
House #2
Designed by an architecture professor at a leading national university. This house incorporates every “green” feature current home construction can provide. The house is 4,000 square feet ( 4 bedrooms ) and is nestled on a high prairie in the American southwest. A central closet in the house holds geothermal heat-pumps drawing ground water through pipes sunk 300 feet into the ground.
The water (usually 67 degrees F.) heats the house in the winter and cools it in the summer. The system uses no fossil fuels such as oil or natural gas and it consumes one-quarter electricity required for a conventional heating/cooling system. Rainwater from the roof is collected and funneled into a 25,000 gallon underground cistern. Wastewater from showers, sinks and toilets goes into underground purifying tanks and then into the cistern. The collected water then irrigates the land surrounding the house. Surrounding flowers and shrubs native to the area enable the property to blend into the surrounding rural landscape.
~~~~~
HOUSE #1 is outside of Nashville, Tennessee; it is the abode of
the “environmentalist” Al Gore.
HOUSE #2 is on a
ranch near Crawford,
Texas; it is the residence the of the President of the United States,
George W. Bush.
An “inconvenient truth”.
Check it out through snopes.com for verification.
Under Clinton, 47 supercomputers have been sold to China, most for use by the Red Army—the butchers of Tibet and Tiananmen Square. These U.S. computers can be used to target nuclear missiles at America and to build design new and more powerful nuclear weapons….” Follow all the money everywhere.
Violation notices against polluters are the most important enforcement tool, experts say, and they’ve had the biggest drop under the current President Bush. The monthly average of violation notices since January 2001 has dropped 58 percent compared with the Clinton administration’s monthly average.
Although I commend Al Gore for promoting a film regarding environmental issues – I have to admit that was sure ignorance on his part for not practicing and doing his part -
As I have been saying, The Republicans and Democrats have lost their way on what their responsibilities are and the America’s expectations. They have both failed…….
None of this matters anymore, according to Al Gore we are all going to melt before the election do to Global warming. Al says buy all the carbon credits you can. (he’s a major stock holder). Then when were not looking he will give it to some Chinese family to funnel to Hillary.
Hillary is not a virgin at campaign finance scandals. Remember David Rosen? Hsu is not a new scandal to her either, merely an on gong one it seems. Maybe Charlie Trie can step in for Hsu now. Her husband can’t buy her anymore votes with pardons anymore either, so she’s in this pretty much on her own now.
You are taking this personal -
Well you can always write your own book, “I believe in Republicans” along with a CD, entitled “We are SilverSpoons” instead of “Champions” of the World. Everyone makes mistakes including you. His film, in case you did not view is evidence on why we are facing our current climate changes. Don’t be so Naiveté – I am suspecting you are promoting everything the current adminstration stands for which is??? Deceitful actions to succeed at obtaining Oil. Remember, once again, did you forget what happend one week after 9/11 osama bin laden’s extended family was given aceess to an airplane to leave this country. Would you have given them access? I wouldn’t have. Besides this fact alone, we are suppose to be getting the ‘bad’ guys. When, where is Osama bin laden? What has happened? What happened to our economy?
Bush should be building up America’s future, not bankrupting us to the tune of trillions of dollars trying to rebuild Iraq. There has been billions of dollars not being spent on our soldiers in Iraq or on their welfare when they return, as it should be or as we are told it will. Did you know that the majority of that money is being wasted and going into the pockets of Halliburton and cronies of the administration, while America falters from lack of investment in infrastructure, lack of investment in health care, and lack of care PERIOD! It is a disgrace that Americans are going bankrupt and worrying about their future. I suppose with the sale of your book and your CD you won’t have to be included with the Americans that worry about the future of this country. You may still believe that the current administration objective to go to war was to get the ‘bad’ guy. Then again, what happened? It’s all about oil.
This story does not suggest that Hillary did anything wrong at all! What are you folks upset about? If there is more to this story, maybe someone could post a link. If there is nothing more, than you appear to be desperate to find something to put Hillary in a bad light. (P.S. I’m not now Hillary presidential supporter, but I am a Dem trying to figure out which candidate to support in the primary.)
Hey Sam, that historical look back at the Clinton years is something we’ll never see on PBS. Let’s face it – he’s the only modern president to be “impeached” and we never hear the word connected to the man. He’s a man who has accomplished nothing and is given credit for everything. And that, my friends, is a sad state of affairs.
well that takes care of that. story over….i hope i donot hear about this ever again..
other than the fact, if this would have been President Bush? I guess not upset at all…. just looking for a little balanced democracy is all. President Bush can’t seem to do anything right from the media perspective and it does not matter what Clintons do wrong…. there is no problem. Infidelity? no prob, dishonesty? no prob big government? no prob, etc etc etc. They broke the rules and the media turns a blind eye or changes the brunt of it. And yet if our President “takes too much vacation” he is condemned. The mere fact that Hsu is a criminal is enough reason for America to be upset at Hilary. Give it to charity? If this was GW you people would be screaming for him to be impeached!
This guy, Norman Hsu, is a big time Hillary donor and was slated to be co-host next month for a Clinton fund raising gala. He is also a fugitive for grand theft. Seems fitting doesn’t it.
