As South Carolina’s GOP claws its way up the primary calendar, pressure on Iowa and New Hampshire mounts to keep their primary dates ahead of the political melee to maintain first-in-the-nation status.
Members of the South Carolina Republican party told South Carolina newspaper, The State, that their state party chair Katon Dawson will announce a January 19th primary date today in New Hampshire. (LINK)
South Carolina’s primary was originally set for Feb. 2, but in order to maintain a first-in-the-South billing had to schedule it earlier than Florida’s January 29th primary.
