Ron Paul’s wife hospitalized in Iowa
ABC News’ Z. Byron Wolf reports: Rep. Ron Paul’s wife Carol fell ill this morning and was admitted to a hospital in Des Moines, delaying her husband’s appearance at the Iowa Republican Straw Poll.
Paul’s wife has a preexisting heart condition and was admitted because of an extended episode where her heart rate dropped dramatically. A campaign spokesman campaign said she has stabilized and seems to be in the clear, but is remaining for the moment at the hospital in Des Moines. The campaign says Paul is comfortable enough with her condition that he is now heading to Ames for the poll. He missed several events with supporters planned for the morning.
Paul is the buzz candidate of the moment, despite low poll numbers. His army of young, motivated, libertarian-minded Republicans are trying to prove their organizational worth by being the most visible contingent at the poll.

please dont be fooled by the republicans again, they will spoon feed you anything to get another 4 yrs of you know what.heres the math for those of you that havent figured it out yet…
ron paul = republican = money stealer who cares 0 about the common hard working american = traitor!
vote democrat and be for a CHANGE!! put hillary or obama or a democrat of some ilk in the whitehouse and you will see some definite changes made , mostly to the financial detriment to some degree of the rich ,both corporate and personal, and that is specifically whats so TERRIFYING to the money hungry republicans! the days of hefty tax increases (targeted at the elite rich in this country) are definitely on the way if democrats get in the white house and its scaring the beejeebus out of the rich pampered elite republicans !! YAAAAAAY!!!
on the upside, maybe because of properly and fairly levied and collected taxes the country can afford get some bridges inspected/fixed …

I really don’t understand how an American can see Ron Paul as anything but What our country needs right now. To all Ron Paul opponents please show me a case where any of the other candidates would make a better leader. I would love to see it.

Its a sad state of affairs when the only candidate that is not owned by big business cant get the support of the common man. Lets put another Haliburton owned President in power so we can continue to lose our Rights. Hey and for those of you who think there is a better candidate… explain why. Tell me some of the things that Clinton or Obama will do for America. Give me some solid hard facts not just Red hat emotional responses. I will be here all day….

Why would any ethical person personally attack someone when they fell ill? Any human being falling ill is a sad event. Please take back your heartless comments. We are all human beings.

You guys make me sick. You are happy that someone is ill? What is wrong with you? You guys seriously have some problems.
Trying to save American values? God, you people make me sick.
Hopefully Mrs. Paul will be fully recovered.

Wow, so much hatred in the first few comments. I guess if you can’t express yourself rationally you can always regress back to simple emotions…
User “Dude’s” farcical diatribe about voting for Democrat and actually getting a change made me roll on the floor laughing until I realized this person was actually serious…
I also laughed about Ron Paul’s supporters being called a cult. I suppose if a presidential candidate shows up with some integrity and talking a modicum of sense there will always be somebody trying to dismiss him with a label rather than with a cogent discussion. Let’s see, what shall we call this cult:
The Cult of the Constitution ? The Cult of Common Sense ?
In today’s America, I GUESS THAT WOULD BE A CULT! And I’m proud to be a part of such an organization.
I wish Dr. Ron Paul’s wife a quick recovery.
RON PAUL ’08 !

Hope Mr. Paul’s wife recovers well.
Hope to hear more about Ron Paul.
Glad to see these ideas get a forum, the people will spark to the truth.
The media can try to control what we see and hear, but they can’t control what we do and say.

Wow! That is Horrible to hear such sad news. Mrs. Paul is a wonderful lady. I saw her in Council Bluffs at the ralley Dr. Paul had there at the Holiday Inn. Even though I didn’t get to speak with Mrs. Paul. From what Dr. Paul said about her she seems like a lovely person. She will be in our hearts and prayers. I hope that Dr. Paul sticks with it and stays in the game. He’s got my vote my dad’s vote and my brother’s vote. Working on my whole family on both sides.

sigh…unabashed ignorance of the american voter , the trump card of the republicans. but totally to be expected given the nature of public education (farcical at least) in the usa over the last 40 years or so. public education is a joke and everyone knows it ,much to the benefit of the rich and elite . the money grubbing republicans and their accompanying money grubbing lobbyists know that without smart/informed/objective voters they can do about what ever they want, without much argument ,so they arent going to be doing anything (eg; more taxes for better schools/teachers/etc…) to make anyone any more empirically informed or properly educated. its totally in their best interests to keep everyone stupid ,but at the same time somewhat pacified, because ignorant uninformed people are easily fooled and taken advantage of.
anyone that votes for anyone but a democrat is just asking for more of the same republican b/s. ron paul = rip off hustler ,its so easy to see… and for those that question the agenda of the democratic presidential hopefuls, i say to you google the candidate ,then go to their website to see the changes that they would make vs the republicans.
no one is perfect but anyone who attempts to purport that the republicans’ long term plans are the best for this country is
just in it for their wallet/bank account or they are just generally ignorant of the correct concept of what a government is put in place to accomplish in the first place.
btw, more cogent objective study of the situation and less online chatting/posting in forums is the best recipe for political ignorance…

just one more comment is needed here i think. to all the ron paul supporters, his “party” is called libertarian isnt it?
okay so mr paul is a libertarian. wonderful.endearing.so who else in the congress or senate is a libertarian? 2 or 3 ? 4 or 5? i dont think there are very many to be honest…that doesnt sound like much political support to push through legislation does it?
i would propose that most likely ,mr paul will have to quickly align himself with one of the traditional parties to get the needed numerical amount of votes to get anything at all done.now the only question is, what party will that be?
vote for ron paul only if you want more republican type politics = status quo.a vote for ron paul, even if it isnt a wasted vote for a non starter candidate,is still a vote for the same old same old.
vote for a democrat, whichever one, if you want a change, its that simple…

Ron Paul is delusional, although I’m sure that he and his wife are decent people

people that call for less government are the ones that need to leave this country and go to mexico… in mexico they have about the most useless government in the world and the folks that dont want to pay taxes here to support the needs of this fine country need to go somewhere , anywhere but here . GO TO MEXICO!!! BETTER MOVE NOW THOUGH BEFORE THE DEMS RAISE YOUR RICH FATCAT TAX RATES TO THE ROOF AND ELIMINATE YOUR CORNUCOPIA OF TAX LOOPHOLES!!its coming so get ready baby.
and btw, for the uninformed who call for less taxes, why do you think so many bridges in this country are under-inspected and under-maintained? for your elucidation, taxes are needed so this country can run smoothly for all ,but since the rich have all they personally need ,( bolstered too by the taxes of the hard working lower/middle class american worker via medicare, social security, as well as totally obscene republican tax cuts for the elite rich) they see no reason to pay any taxes for anything. why pay taxes, they have all they need and if they dont, they have the ways and means to just up and move to where ever if they dont like it.they can afford health care, and to send their pampered snotty fat kids to private schools too. rich people and the party of the rich ,the republicans, are ruining this country.
also,as i recall, ronald reagan called for less government, via deregulation of the banking industry ( along with his crony/fellow traitor and future war mongering rip off president bush senior) and look what happened there? do some googleing about the savings and loan fiasco of the 80s and youll get some miniscule inkling of what kind of ignorant economic tom foolery that was/is. truth is ,lots of fat cats got rich/richer because of such ignorant and basically traitorous deregulations, (and the subsequent/consequent banking “fiasco”) so i can see why a rich person, or one looking to become rich would argue against proper governmental oversight/regulations.
government regulations and safeguards are there so the taxpayer doesnt get ripped off ,and if they DO get ripped off, someone is held accountable.thats one of the main things any government is there to do,watchdog the taxpayers hard earned money. cmon now people , do some objective research before you vote moronically and screw up the country for 4 more years.
