Sen. Barack Obama, D-Illinois, only three years removed from the Illinois state senate, has been retorting to those who imply he lacks sufficient experience for the most important job in the world — namely, Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-NY, and her supporters — by arguing that lacking "Washington" experience is not the same as lacking experience.
He often makes the argument that the most impressive resumes in DC are held by Vice President Dick Cheney and former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, the implication being that neither Messrs. Cheney nor Rumsfeld have done such a good job.

But…while it’s all well and good to impugn Cheney and Rummy if you’re trying to win a Democratic primary… how does Obama’s derision of "Washington" experience compare to what then-Gov. George W. Bush said when he was running for president seven years ago?
