Giuliani Ad: Clinton Turned Back on Troops
ABC News’ Jan Simmonds Reports: The Rudy Giuliani presidential campaign launched their first Internet ad Friday targeting Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y.
The web ad, entitled "She Changed," accuses the democratic frontrunner of changing her position on Iraq and "turning her back" on America’s troops.
The ad uses video of Sen. Clinton’s comments in 2002 supporting military action in Iraq to juxtapose her current stand that invading Iraq was the wrong decision for the United States and that the surge is not working.
The internet video also charges that Clinton "stood silently by" when MoveOn.org ran their "venomous ad" in The New York Times on Monday, famously calling General Petreaus, "General Betray Us."
The ad narrator demands for Clinton to "apologize for your comments and condemn the MoveOn.org ad."
Giuliani bought his own full-page ad in Friday’s editions of the New York Times, attacking MoveOn.org’s ad, and calling on politicians from both parties to stop spewing "political venom."
The campaign, which has not yet aired an advertisement on television, currently has no plans to make a television buy for "She Changed."
The tables turn on Giuliani on Monday when he becomes the subject of an ad by MoveOn.org, the anti-war advocacy group.
That ad, which will air in Iowa next week, accuses Giuliani of shirking his responsibilities while a member of the Iraq Study Group, formed by President Bush to offer suggestions on Iraq war policy.
"The former mayor was asked to leave the prestigious committee because of his frequent absences. Rather than meeting his obligation to the group," read a statement about the ad by Eli Pariser, MoveOn.org Political Action’s executive director. "Giuliani spent his time collecting high fees for speaking engagements all over the country … when Rudy had the chance to support our troops, he left them high and dry. Now that’s a true betrayal of trust."
Giuliani Communications Director Katie Levinson has released the following statement about MoveOn.org’s forthcoming ad.
"Being attacked by the Democratic character assassination machine MoveOn.org is something Rudy Giuliani will wear as a badge of honor. This is, after all, the same liberal group whose website compared President Bush to Adolf Hitler, the same liberal group that wanted no military response in the aftermath of September 11th and the same liberal group that consistently opposes funding for our troops in the theater of war," the Giuliani campaign statement read.

Sen. DeMint: GOP Race Could Go Until Convention
Obama Avoids Questions on Contraception Rule
Rasmussen poll: Thursday, September 13, 2007
” Forty-three percent (43%) of Americans favor the recommendation made by General David Petraeus to withdraw 30,000 soldiers from Iraq but leave 130,000 troops in place at least through the summer. A Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey found that 38% are opposed and 19% are not sure. ”
And so the American people have spoken as to the surge. Now our President will make it so ………..despite some of the most corrupt left-wing attempts by America’s news media this week to push their lies and propaganda in support of their fellow liberal pals, the Democrats.
The stunt pulled by the far left-wing hate group MoveOn.org and the ultra liberal corrupt NYTimes to smear the US General on the ground this past Monday was a total disgrace to all Americans. Today our liberal political/news organizations represent poison in the blood stream of this great nation………………and that’s a FACT

MoveOn.org is doing more good for the Republicans than those dim wits could ever think they are doing for the Dems. Keep up the good work, gang. Everytime you speak, Americans shake their collective heads in disgust. Ok, not ALL Americans, only the ones with a brain and their common sense still in tact. Oh, and why not take out another ad, be on a roll you know, call the president a traitor, or some Cheney bashing – that’ll get you some play. Al Qaeda loves you MoveOn. Just think, on a cave wall, hidden from the civilized world, you’re full page ad in the recent NYT hangs proudly by those who murder Americans. Be proud.

Hey, Rudy, how’s your mafioso pal doing these days?
You know, your former police chief you nominated to be the head of “homeland security”? And, whose nomination was accepted by the Bush administration until someone pointed out he was “connected.” (a mafioso)
Giuliana is the least qualified to be president due to his ties to organized crime.

“Clinton turned back on troops.” So says the man who let his New York first responders inhale toxic air in the wake of 9/11 and then turned around and screwed them when they tried to get affordable medical treatment! If hypocrisy stinks, Mafia Rudy lives in a sewer!

Giuliani is making comments on Clinton turning her back on the troops?
She has always supported the troops, including makung sure they didn’t have a bill when they were discharged from Walter Reed after being wounded in Iraq. Because Bush lied to the Congress is her fault?
Giuliani should be careful about turning his back on people! Ask the firefighters in New York if their radios worked when the order was given to evacuate the North Tower? With Radios Giuliani gave then hundreds of firefighters were lost, while not one police officer in the North tower died. They got the order on their radios, which did work.
And even worse, Giuliani scooped up the site with many dead from the trades, including firefighters and transfered them to the Srtaten Island dump!
A fitting place for firefighters who lost their lives, A DUMP! Giuliani can take credit for that!!!

Pull moveon.org’s tax exemption, arrest the directors, pull their citizenship and give then 90 days to leave the country. THAT will set a clear example to other traitors in this country.

S. Braden — I’ve had more than my fill of watching people like you call anyone who disagrees with Bush a “traitor.” Two things, Sparky: (1) There is a vast chasm of difference between hating the country and opposing an unprecedentedly incompetent leader, although I’ll have to excuse your inability to understand such things on the basis of sheer stupidity; and (2) If you’re such an all-fired fanatical patriot, why aren’t *your* two boots on the ground in Iraq, huh?

Giving aide to the enemy makes a traitor. Spewing anti-American anti-Bush propaganda is giving aide to the enemy. I also dont know how to break this to feeble little minds, but we have an all volunteer military. We have been at war for six years now and nobody in that military signed up thinking that they would be assigned to serving ors-durves in the White House. The guys who “have their boots on the ground” and are the ones who are getting shot at so that you can spew Bush hating nonsense, support their commander and they love their country enough to risk dying for it. Something that a cowardly traitor will never know anything about. Its nice how filthy partisan maggots like to say that its about them though. They want to win, even if they dont have your support.

The Rudy video add was the most misleading I have seen in the campaign for 08.

Hillary has no credibility on the Iraq war. She has adjusted her position with the political wind. She can’t be trusted.

Rudy Guiliana is a joke, and a never-was. His claim to fame is that he was mayor of New York during 9/11. Big deal. He’s done nothing significant either politically or socially, and he is in NO position to challenge Hillary Clinton, of all people. For God’s sake, even his own family can’t stand him.

“Chas”: Our president isn’t ONLY a traitor….HE’S A MASS MURDERER!!! BTW, it’s NOT UNconstitutional to speak up against ANY military person NOR president AS LONG AS IT’S THE TRUTH!!!

This is going to be a nasty campaign.
Rudy would have been better served if he had taken aim solely at MoveOn.org and not at Ms. Clinton. Personal attacks generally backfire.
MoveOn.org itself has become the Democrats’ Bush. MoveOne bashing is fine (and may be a winning strategy) – just don’t try to make it personal. Democratic aspirants would benefit greatly by distancing themselves from this politically toxic organization.
No Democratic candidate can hope to win without capturing Southern Democrats. With Southern Democrats, three issues may force them to vote Republican or to stay home from the polls: 1) border security (illegal immigration); 2) radical islamic terrorism; and 3) the prospect of tax increases.
Sadly, none of the leading Democratic candidates is serious about tackling the first two issues, and suicidally, all of the leading Democrats are intent on promising tax increases.
Given that the Democratic leadership and MoveOne.org are intent on handing the presidency back over to Republicans, it is a shame that a Southern gentleman like Edwards cannot better distinguish himself from the hard left. He could waltz into the White house if he recognizes the real issues I have described above.
Thanks, MoveOn.org and the hard left – for killing the Democratic party’s chance to win.

The democrats already flubbed up their chances at the whitehouse by virtue of the current list of runners. Moveon just sealed their fate. And this “democratic majority” in congress buried the democrats’ chances even more. Hillary’s going down!

I am not disappointed in the President because he is Republican, there are departments in Washington that have made a contribution to this country, I am opposed to the reaction to 9/11. We have spent trillions and will spend trillions of dollars abroad to get a dictator that has MWD, was treating his people inhumane, and to eliminate terrorist cells. Today, it is too little late to try and pull out of Iraq immediately. We cannot leave a country without an infrastructure – this is inhumane. What countries are aiding in Iraq? I did not quite get the number of soldiers during the President’s recent speech. I do not hate America and the military. I have the greatest respect for many of our politicians, military, and current departments in Washington. What I am simply saying is I am disappointed in our President; he has not met his benchmarks. It’s a mess and the next administration whether Republican or Democrat will have to clean up. Remember this – when we are spending trillions of dollars more to clean up.

I find it amusing that a man who went out of his way to shirk his duty during Vietnam is taking on an organization who dares to speak the truth. While a law student he enjoyed a student deferment, that ended upon his graduation when he was reclassified to 1A (available for military service.) He attempted to be reclassified to avoid service in Vietnam, and that effort failed. Guiliani, who was adamant against serving and the Vietnam war in general, in a last ditch effort to avoid service had his then employer in 1969, Judge Lloyd MacMahon, for whom Rudy worked as a law CLERK, write a letter to Rudy’s draft board requesting that he be reclassified to 2A ( a civilian occupation deferment). In MacMahon’s letter to the draft board he states, as quoted by the great columnist, Jimmy Breslin, that Guiliani was “such an essential employee, that he could not be allowed to be shot at in Vietnam” Just how ESSENTIAL are CLERKS for civilian duties during conflict? I wonder how many other thousands of people employed as clerks asked to be deferred from active duty. Do some in depth research on this guy. He’s dangerous.

Apparently Rudy can suspend his disbelief. Bush told us more Americans soldiers would have to die in Iraq so the Iraqi` central government could legislate national reconciliation. Petraeus testified that a major indicator of the succcess of the surge is that the Sunnis in Anbar (not Bahgdad, the stated focus of Bush`s surge) that were killing our soldiers last year were now working with us to kill Al Queada terrorists. Ambassador Croker testified that the Al Maliki government is disfuncional. How can this be charsasterized as overall success, Rudy? Take your lies and “venomous poison” back to wherever you came from.

One other statement I wanted to make regarding Guiliani. I Don’t think his personal attacks are going to win very many of the mainstream electorates votes. I think what he needs to do is to concentrate on a way to stay out of the way of MoveOn.orgs way, before they expose many more of the skeletons in his closet besides his failure to attend and lack of participation in the Iraq study committee the Bush Administration appointed him to. The one he was eventually asked to resign from. He really supported the troops on that one!

Not a disagreement on Bush not that I care what you think. If you support moveon in this instance then you to are in fact a liberal traitor as well. Too old for service but would be proud to serve my country as you certainly would not.

Newt Gingrich said it all ….so elequently last week………”the Democrats have an 80/20 chance of taking back the White House in 2008″…….The Pubs themselves even know they don’t have a prayer…….The Dems could run Kucinich and win against that group of liars and flip-flop artists.
