Bush – Fish or Cut Bait

ABC News’ Ann Compton Reports: The White House announced Friday that President Bush is planning a warm October Saturday on the Chesapeake Bay, speaking out on behalf of sanctuaries for migrating fowl and preservation of striped bass and channel bass (known locally as red drum).

What is NOT announced by the White House is the fact that President Bush is heading off to do some fishing after his event — while being interviewed by a TV fishing program.  By my read of the Chesapeake websites, this is nearing the end of striped bass and channel bass (red drum) season. 

And there is also lunch at the Cheney’s weekend mansion — of course, Cheney’s devotion to fishing earned him the Secret Service code name "Angler."  His love of hunting got him only headlines when he accidentally shot a Texas lawyer in the face during an outing.
