Bush Got Bad Wind of the Situation
ABC News’ Jennifer Duck Reports: President Bush signed a major disaster declaration for the California wildfires this morning following a request from California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. However, when speaking about the declaration in his Cabinet meeting this morning, the President mixed up the Santa Ana wind directions.
"I wish we could control the wind, because one of the things that’s hampering our joint capability of fighting these fires is the strong westerly winds. I’m told the winds may be dying down soon, in which case it will make it — make this equipment we’ve got in place a lot more effective at helping fight the fires," Bush said.
The winds hampering the firefighting are dry easterly winds. If the Santa Anas were westerly winds, the temperatures would cool and help firefighters fight the blaze across California.
The President declared a federal emergency on Tuesday for seven California counties, but the major disaster declaration announced today will cover more debris removal programs and give money to people whose property losses aren’t covered by insurance.
President Bush travels to Southern California on Thursday where he will take a helicopter tour of the damage and be briefed by local, state and administration officials on the wildfires.

Obama Backs Off Birth Control Battle?
Big deal. There are probably nutburgers out there who think Bush DOES control the winds, and heck, probably started this fire anyway… Oh, wait, I think the looney left is already doing that…

No, the problem was the lack of
interest that Bush showed for the
problems of the people in New Orleans and the stark difference between that and how he is responding to those nice white folks in California.

To Mari
That is ridiculous. How about the lack of preparedness, common sense and just plain stupidity of the govorner and mayor involved with Katrina. In case you are unaware the federal government can’t just jump in. Their help has to be requested by the state. At least CA had the wits to ask for help unlike the idiots in New Orleans and LA that could not make any decisions and couldn’t even mobilize buses. Their mayor was hiding on the top floor of a hotel and their governor was wringing her hands and crying. But of course none of this matters because liberals will always blame Bush and play the race card.

Mrs. clinton, diane feinstein, barbara boxer and harry reid are the new, improved Gang of Four …I’m sick and tired of these “politicians” and their pathetic attempts at getting media attention and the only way they can do it is by making insane remarks. Otherwise, they are irrelevant. Comments about the CA fires and the lack of national guard on hand show how desperate they are for attention. They are nothing more than “politicians”. Feel free to use the name everyone….

Speaking of Katrina….
The monumental incompetence and corruption of Gov. Kathleen Blanco, Mayor Ray “Chocolate City” Nagin, and the Louisiana Democratic party lead to Piyush “Bobby” Jindal being elected Governor.
If you believe the major media’s Katrina outrage, NO Republican could be elected in Louisiana for years and years to come-—given the “ethnic cleansing” (according to Barney Franks) that Bush and the GOP carried out against Louisiana.
Jindal is a brilliant, young Rhodes scholar conservative, son of Legal immigrants, and the first non-white Governor in Louisiana since Reconstruction.
