Bush to Hold 10:45am News Conference
ABC News’ Ann Compton and Jennifer Duck Report: President Bush will hold a 10:45am news conference this morning from the White House.
Offering something of an umbrella lead, President Bush is intending to open his press conference with a statement on a broad range of domestic issues including, in no particular order, taxes, spending, budget, SCHIP veto, No Child Left Behind, and of course, FISA and national security measures.
In the month since his last news conference, Bush has vetoed a popular children’s health bill, and threatened to stop a host of other congressional measures. He’s giving Congress a hard time on spending too much, while assuring Americans the US economy is strong and growing, despite a weakness in the housing industry.
The Press conference will be held in the high tech new press briefing room at the White House where reporters were already gathering for the day’s regular briefings.

Our imperious leader is about to speak!

This idiotic lame excuse for a leader hasn’t done anything worthwhile in almost seven years. Why does the boob think he can do anything now?

I don’t care what he has to say anymore. Unless he says he’s going to resign, I ain’t interested!

uh huh… As if I would watch that puppethead… lemme guess… he will make a statement that will OPEN THE DOOR TO INVADING IRAN… right? All the rest is just distractive fluff….

Here comes the invasion of Iran… Anybody else remember when we used to live in a Democracy? Do you think we ever will again?

Why would I watch this? So Bush can lie in my face again? Forget it!

Hopefully we take out IRAN’s refineries. Let’em scramble for fuel, that’ll keep them busy for a while.

The pot calls the kettle black! Bush gets on Congress about spending? The man who has spent hundreds of BILLIONS on his own personal war of vengeance? It’s perfectly OK to do this, but don’t you DARE spend a penny more on child health care than I want you to! Dammit, don’t you know that providing children with adequate health care will lead to socialized medicine? Can’t you figure out that if you spend 30 billion more on SCHIP I won’t be able to spend it on Halliburton contracts? What’s wrong with you people? Don’t you know that I’M the DECIDER?

Your entire life so far would be impossible if it weren’t for men of war. Why must we listen to wimpy liberals now? In fact, put the liberals on the front line after they are drafted. They’re useless anyway.
Posted by: GO NAVY | October 17, 2007, 10:23 am 10:23 am
I’m sure he’s going to talk about how everything is fine, just fine. The economy is booming, the war is going perfectly, China and Russia love us and we have nothing to worry our pretty little heads about…
It’s amazing with his approval rating that we’re doing absolutely nothing about it (myself included). A “news” source should put a poll out there and report on whether we want him impeached rather than just asking if we think he’s doing a good job.
Gotta get the ball rolling somehow.
I’ve been both Republican and Democrat in my life. I don’t care what party he’s affiliated with.

You people are idiots. Lets see, we havent had a terrorist attack in the US since 9-11, An evil corrupt threat to national and economic security is dead, Saddam Hussein, allowing a country to begin to grow in freedom, sure, oil prices are high, but thats not any one persons fault, we all can probably share the blame for that, What Im saying is give it up with the Bush hating and grow up.

Do not spoon feed us anymore of your Billy Bob politics. Americans have had enough! No more bamboozled politics.

What you guys are missing is that the 9/11 attacks were the only attacks on US soil that was not committed by a non-American in a long time. So it is really no wonder there hasn’t been more, those attacks were an amazing feat to begin with. Why are we amazed that there have been no others, it is not due to Homeland Security. It is due to the fact that such attacks are hard to do, yet, could be done at anytime. The threat has not been there, what threat have they stopped since September 11, 2001?

I have no respect for what this man and his regime has done to our country. The worst part of it is that he stole an election and got away with it and there is nothing that millions of citizens could do as recourse. He may be an idiot but his think tank of lawyers etc. know and knew exactly how to get around the constitution and add to his power. What can we do to prevent this again? The popular vote has to count for something.

The worst President since Jimmy Carter.

22 posts and 2 in favor of the moron’s policies. That’s a whopping 11% approval rate. Looks like you Bushies are losing ground! Don’t you just love standing at the station after the train has left?

The best commentary regarding the current state of the once-proud Republican Party came from none other than John Eisenhower… the son of President Dwight D. Eisenhower. John Eisenhower left the Republican Party in disgust recently, commenting that it no longer represented traditional Republicans like himself.

Hey, I am not a big fan of President Bush but we should be supporting him for the rest of his term and making his job easier on him so that he can make better decisions. This way we can also elect a better President for the next 4 to 8 years. We are lucky enough to live in a country were the government is run by the people and for the people so we should do a better job at choose the people we want to run for and to be are next president and not just bash those that we have chosen. It is our duty to elect the person who best represents our country and not get mad when we fail but work harder the next time around and learn from our mistakes.

The reason he has been voted for twice is because the people that need to be heard and need attention by calling him out are usually people between 18-27 who don’t vote. Then the blue collar construction workers, farmers, factory workers go about their day, don’t care to share their feelings and when the time to vote comes, they feel obligated to do so and they voted for Bush. I was in college in 2004 and was shocked that Bush won because every person I knew my age or every TV show I watched bashed Bush. Well, about 20% of people my age voted and that is why Bush lost, the young people didn’t use their vote.

Also skyz you can’t cuss on a public blog, get over it. That isn’t a 1st amendment right issue. I don’t want to live in a world where nudity, violence, and cussing is on network TV during prime-time where my kids can see it. Is that censoring your first-amendment rights? I don’t think so, get cable and turn it to HBO, Showtime, or Cinemax. 1st amendment rights should be about choices, you can chose to avoid the smut or you can chose to watch it. It can’t be you can say or do whatever you want whenever you want. Some people don’t want like cussing, what about their rights?

My comment is in the form of a question.
During his news conference why has he not commented on the issues of the Local “Jena 6″ in its’ entirety.
He Is the head of the country and must take a stand against the acts committed against one another. He must protected all the american people, their basic right to life, protection, health, and he cannot stand on the fence regarding even the most (what may be consider a local concern, it is just as vialable as he’s acts of trying to protect people in the middle east and their right to be protected.

jrog ~ i don’t watch tv ~ tv makes you confused aka as stupid ~ i put the stars in place of the letters ~ and there are no synonyms for what gwb has done to the people of this country ~ if you are so smart why don’t you persuade the audience that i am wrong by coming up with such words rather than lobby ‘smut’ at me fyi i don’t smoke drink do drugs or even eat meat ~ i am about as pure as a person can be but you know sometimes the truth that needs to be said is not pretty ~

My soon to be husband will be going to Iraq for the second time, instead of putting down the decisions that have been made I’m sucking it up and supporting them. Nobody is willing to admit the good he has done but is more than happy to point out the things they view as mistakes. If you’re so smart run for president, until then keep your negative feelings to a minimum because it’s not getting you anywhere! My husband will be gone for over a year! Yes there is a war going on, whether you feel it needs to be fought or not it is, support the troops, support the president and vote better next time around! We are a free nation be grateful.

He doesn’t remember what he was doing in 1980? I wasn’t even born then and I know.
He was the spoiled adult child of the new Vice President, working with failing energy ventures, and an alcoholic (he was a drunk until 1986).
Though the alcohol would explain why he doesn’t remember 1980.

also jorg the american people DID NOT vote gwb into office in 2000 which is well established and it is also highly unlikely that voter fraud was not in play in the 2004 election ~ i told you tv makes for confused ~

krystal you have all my sympathy ~ i weep for you ~ i have no one in my family or among my friends that are in iraq but i am unhappy to be at war ~ it weighs on my heart and my mind ~ but turning a blind eye to the cause of your suffering is not going to help the situation ~ these soldiers are suffering for the sake of the inflated egos of those who are either power hungry or money hungry or both

I just listened to Bush’ speech. His opening statements were about domestic affairs, but the media asked questions about foreign affairs. I wanted to know about the domastic matters. I feel that the media needs to be more responsible in reporting and not look for the sensational, accusatory stories, but talk about the stories that are relevant to the American people and their daily lives

$35 million for childen’s health equals about 2 1/2 hours of the Iraq War (at $13 Million/hour). Democrats can only say “Way to make us look good, buddy!”
