Edwards Attacks Clinton on Questionable Contributions
ABC News’ Raelyn Johnson Reports: After an article in Friday’s "Los Angeles Times" revealed that Clinton received large donations from poor residents living in New York City’s Chinatown, the Edwards campaign pounced on the opportunity to bring more attention to the questionable contributions.
"This morning we all read in L.A. Times that many Clinton campaign contributions are raising eyebrows again. Many of their donors are not even registered to vote, and at least one denied even making any contribution at all," Edwards Campaign Manager David Bonior said in a statement on Friday.
"Senator Clinton has said public financing is the answer. Senator Edwards has opted to take public financing, but Senator Clinton has not. Senator Clinton should explain why she doesn’t mean what she says…The bottom line is we need a nominee who can do two things: campaign in all 50 states and challenge our broken system in Washington. With every day the growing question has to be can Hillary Clinton do either?"
Last Sunday while campaigning in New Hampshire, Edwards sought to bring Clinton down a notch by pointing to a story "The New York Times" that explained the New York Senator’s vote to declare the Iranian Revolutionary Guard a terrorist organization.
"There was a story in today’s New York Times about this issue and about her vote on this issue. And some of her advisers said that she voted yes because she was moving from primary mode to general election mode. I may be wrong, and you’ll have to tell me, have we already decided who’s going to win the New Hampshire primary," said Edwards during a town hall meeting in Dover last week.
Seeking further distinction he added, "instead of primary mode versus general election mode, instead of saying one thing in the primary and something different for the general election, how about if we do tell the truth mode all the time. How about if we say exactly what we believe and stand by that position."

I guess the main stream media is eating it’s own crap. Perhaps, this story is not as important as Obama being an 8th cousin of Cheney.
This is pitiful!

Dishwashers, waiters and others whose jobs and dilapidated home addresses seem to make them unpromising targets for political fundraisers are pouring $1,000 and $2,000 contributions into Clinton’s campaign treasury. In April, a single fundraiser in an area long known for its gritty urban poverty yielded a whopping $380,000. When Sen. John F. Kerry (D-Mass.) ran for president in 2004, he received $24,000 from Chinatown

This is a repeat of what happened in 2002. When many people new that Bush was heading for war, based on false pretense, and failed to do the hard nosed reporting that was necessary. They could have prevented the war if they had reported on the opposition to war. Now with their silence they helping usher perhaps the most blantly corrupt kind of politics by letting Clinton get away with this. I never imagined that someone could be worse than Bush. But Clinton’s arrogance and total disregard for what is decent is very scary. She could be worse than Bush.

Slowly, the truth will start to come out. Corruption to take campaign money from the poor such as in China Town and elsewhere by the Clintons is very sad and dirty. Is this the person that is to become the President of the USA? After the problems with the Bush administration, is America ready to go through another period of bad government, which only brings shame to America both at home and abroad? Everyone American voters should think. Don’t give your vote to encourage corruption. Whoever you vote for should be clean, trustworthy and dedicated to fix the issues facing America.

The last time a Clinton ran for President it was Chinese nuns in LA each giving $5000 checks to his campaign. After the election CHina never had a better friend than Bill Clinton. Since his tenure they have become the industrial collosus of the earth while the US has sunk slowly into the sunset. He even violated US export laws to help the Chinese update their rocket technology. What will the Red Chinese get for their money this time? A promise not to intervene if Taiwan is attacked?

This is just the same old Clinton corruption scandal. My question is; why didn’t moveon.org or media matters do a better job of covering it up. The Clintons aren’t getting their moneys worth from these Hillary campaign groups.

Because the GOP Outraised the Democrats over and over(and were highlt criticized for it by the way)……..the Socialist Party of America’s Mindset is:
If we raise more money than the GOP……we will win!
That’s why you hear all the talk of the Dems outraising the GOP “ad nauseum”….
But…As Usual…the DemoCrats have stunk it up again for American Voters to plainly see…..
Additionally, when the GOP picks a candidate……JUST WATCH THE MONEY ROLL IN FOR THE CAUSE!

It’s dejavu all over again. In case you have forgotten, there’s a continuation with Clinton’s and their Chinese connection. When they were in the White House, they encouraged Chinese to visit, but there was a big charge for everything, such as pictures, running with the president, the Lincoln Bedroom, etc. Now we see Hillary getting bundling money from China Town in NYC. For them, it’s money any way you can get it, legal or illegal.

Clinton’s campaign fund raising should be a major story by ABC and the rest of the media. The problem is the bias in the media stops the reporting or puts up “fluff” stories ahead of this to bury it.
It is clear that there is a media bias that stops these stories from appearing or make them disappear. If this bias continues it will lead to the media becoming nothing more than a place that will loose viewers and credibility – I hear that is happening already to the newspapers, next is TV.

It’s extremely funny how people with say almost anything to make an invalid point or claim. If you’re going to wrtie about something… write about the facts. It’s okay to dislike a candidate and her views but really who cares about what you believe or assume. The truth is… Edwards,Obama and all of the GOP candidate will attack Hillary because of where she ranks in the polling, but after all the spin… they are probably about 1% truthful so who cares. I probably won’t come back to this site so who’s cares about the responses I’ll receive. Go Hillary!

This consultant induced early campaign season will prove fatal for Hillary Clinton. It gives voters and those who usually do not vote a chance to hear her ideas and look at her votes (without nuance) and see into her past. “Fatally” flawed! Remember those words. No that wasnt a question. Karl Rove will have made the Democrats eat their very own words nearly 1 1/2 years out of the general election should they nominate her.
If they do; Hsu will probably be the least of her worries.
I am so pumped for her to run. I cant see how the Republicans/pundits are keeping the cheers inside? Newt calls her “formidable” with such happiness. They want to defeat the Clinton’s before the World. In front of God and everyone. Her defeat will be the death of liberalism in America, once and for all.
ANY Republican….except that isolationist Ron Paul or Reverend Sam Brownback (who is supposedly out), who wins the nomination will beat her hands down. Screw these early polls.

The system needs to change. Until that happens this will occur. We need public financing. Edwards did not embrace that concept initially, but he has turned to it now in desperation. Hillary and Obama on the other hand attract large sums of money. It is like trying to take a drink of water from a firehose. Both campaigns have taken money from questionable sources, and return it when those facts become known. The amount in this case seems de minimus in the scheme of things.

Again, the system is the problem. All campaigns, including Richardson have received questionable contributions, and do their best to ferret them out and return them as the facts become known. The Supreme Court calls legitimate campaign contributions free speech. The problem with that analysis is it gives some a louder voice than others.

I make a heck of a lot more than a dishwasher, but I’d be hard pressed to find $1000 to $2500 to give anyone, even a relative. The ChiComs have owned the Clintons for decades. Even in Arkansas he was on Chinas payroll. This is more payback for all the military and nuclear secrets that Bill gave them. The Clintons are truly enemies of the state. All 50 states, that is. They both should be tried and prosecuted for treason.

If honest federal law enforcement knew the truth about the Clintons illegal contributions going all the way back to Arkansas they and all their cronies would spend the rest of their lives in jail for Rico and treason for giving the Chinese the technology for intercontinental ballistic missiles. They did not have gyro info till Clinton told a contractor that was the biggest Clinton contributer to give it to them. The news media are willing contributers to the Clintons by omission of details they know about. They the Chinese couldn’t get a bottle rocket to fly before The Clintons gave them whatever they needed.

More power to Bill and Hillary. You may not be able to “… fool all of the people all of the time …,” but you can fool a sufficient number of them to secure election. And money is the mother’s milk of politics.
Didn’t Mr. Bill enable the Chinese to secure technology that provided them with civilian and military advantages. In U.S. politics, you pay for access. The Chinese are not naive. Who thinks the source of the monies contributed is not traceable to the Chinese government. Cherchez l’argent.
I love the Clintons. They prove that loveable gullibility is a permanent artifact in this world.

I bet I know where the money is coming from…believe me when I say I’m not normally partial to conspiracy theories, but this one fits just too perfectly. A book called ‘War Beyond Limits’ was published in 1999 by two senior Chinese Colonels. I suggest you both look into its contents on your own. In it they talk about destroying the West through non-military means. One of the ways they sugges is through election manipulation. Think about it…if you have a few hundred well placed operatives you could steer million and millions of Chinese dollars illegally (or pressure citizens to give their own) into certain campaigns. I think Hsu was just one of many. If you have ever listened to a speech by former KGB Gen. Kalugin has spoken extensively about Soviet tactics to fight this type of warfare by doing whatever they could to help spread racial strife within the U.S. They would put swasticas on Jewish gravestones, illegally fund militant groups like the Black Panthers and KKK, etc.

Good comments all, but lets face it, Hillary has bought and paid for her presidency, she controls the media. While she advocates that one should not let emotion rule over reason, she understands that females are ruled by emotion and will have their vote as she knows how to play to that audience. Consider that women are always asked how they ‘feel” about something, and men are asked what they “think” about something. Hillary will be elected.

Posted by: The Man | October 20, 2007, 11:16 pm 11:16 pm
How naive to think that either Hillary or Bill Clinton have or will ever feel it necessary “to tell the truth mode all the time.” Repeat after me, “you deserve who you vote for.”

Hillary can’t even keep her husband on a straight path. I don’t like Hillary but at the same time I don’t blame Bill.

Loral. Warren Christopher, Sec. of State, refused to allow the sale of sensitive rocket technology to the Chinese. Bill Clinton moves the authority for the decision to the Commerce Dept., headed by Ron Brown. Sale goes through. Ron Brown dies in plane crash. Warren Christopher resigns. Chinese military continues to funnel money to the Clintons to this day. Democrat voters continue to not give a damn.

Hillary caught this and returned the money (every last cent). During Bill’s time in office, the country had a balanced budget and a surplus (2 Trillion). Candidates may not always know who is giving them money. If I recall, John Edwards is recieving money through the “people” from lobbyists. He’s an ultral Liberal who is attacking Hillary because she’s more conservative than him. He’s making her out to be something she is not. I’ve read her Heathcare plans and John’s. He is mandating health insurance just as she tried to do in 93′-94′. The fact is… she has been a great first lady, (even when her husband cheated on her), and a great senator. He fought to get funding for NY workers during 9/11 terrorist attacks. If John wants to attack her on something she caught and then returned and has put policies in place to assure it doesn’t happen again then fine. He’s lost my vote.

I remember when the Democratic candidates said They would not attack each other during campaign time and the only one who has avoided doing so is Hillary Clinton. She faced critism from Obama and Edwards but hasn’t attacked back. Why is that?

You might as well get used to this stuff. Clinton, Inc. is a criminal organization. I loved it when her minions told the media that they could not possibly have known that Norman Hsu was a fugitive. He had his picture taken with Mrs. Bill Clinton, for crying out loud. Then the guy winds up half naked, surrounded by pills on an Amtrack train bound for Chicago after skipping bail. There will be a steady drip of Bimbo eruptions, money scandals and Vince Fosters down the road. Just wait. As a republican, I cannot wait for our party to run against her. John Edwards should be careful, though. Stay off of small planes Mr. Edwards.

And now, a sermon from the Voice of Reason:
Some of you would-be bloggers and bargain-basement political pundits are hilarious.
Are people actually accusing Democrats of being “Communists?” Is that still “in”? Or did I suddenly stumble upon the internet realm that time forgot? So do you still listen to your ham radios down in your bomb-proof shelters, longing for the good old, paranoid days of the Cold War and cursing off the likes of Khrushchev and his infernal godless comrades? If so, I’d like to congratulate you on your near relic status and be the first to warmly welcome you to the dawning of a new age. And in what may be a confusing and downright baffling period of adjustment for you, you can be sure of one thing: Calling the Democratic frontrunners in an election Communists is about as valid as calling them “stupid-heads” and probably less relevant and accurate. Frankly, it’s just pathetic. Time to freshen up on your rhetorical skills friend.
Also, Barack Obama and Ron Paul, who share radically different points of view (to say the least) are perhaps the only candidates with any real integrity running for the office of the president this time around. And this is plain for all to see, no matter what political party you adhere to. Going out on more of a limb here, I would venture to say that John Edwards may still have what it takes to be a sincere, compassionate, and intelligent leader, but I admit he certainly makes it hard to believe with his glossy-eyed look and the Clinton-esque political manuevering he engages in.
And, speaking of that crafty New York Senator, as some of you are perceptive enough to notice, Hillary is about as sincere as Trent Lott claiming not to be a racist after his words at Strom Thurmond’s birthday extravaganza (hint: yahoo for segregation! We’d be better off today for sure if he had been president!). Simply put, in both her words and overall political approach, Hillary Clinton will say and do just about anything she thinks will manage to make her generally electable enough to get her into the White House in ’08. Now to be clear, I don’t harbor any ill will towards her whatsoever, but seriously people… both her Rudy Guliani could win an award for their posturing and pandering tactics this election season.
Guliani should just tatoo 9/11 on his forehead along with a single tear beneath one eye. At least then maybe he’ll shut up about it for once, instead of hiding behind it in practically every single debate and interview, all while pretending to be some kind of hero and messenger of stern, sobering truth.
You don’t get a free pass for the rest of your political career just because you didn’t suffer a complete nervous breakdown when terrorists attacked your city. To your credit, you did somewhat effective damage control of a disaster-stricken downtown area… whoopdee-freakin-doo. Now stop patting yourself on the back for doing your job seven years ago and try talking to your son who won’t even speak to you because you were such a waste as a husband and as a father. You can’t manage immediate familial relationships and yet you want to be a voice of valor to the entire international community? Gad zeeks… Sad but true, and Lord help us all if you get your wish.
Also, while I personally love all people regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, sex, etc etc., the rest of this country is unfortunately not so enlightened. The United States will NOT elect a black man or a woman as president any time soon. So get over it. It’s NOT going to happen. Hell, I wish it would. It would certainly shake things up a bit and we desperately need that here. In fact, I hope I am completely wrong and one of them (preferably Obama) is elected.
Sadly though, most average citizens are narrowminded, short-attention-spanned simpletons at best and closeted bigots at worst, unwelcoming of the unfamiliar and extremely resistant to change in the status quo, especially in regards to the figureheads of the political sphere. But hey, I’ll cross my fingers come election day, at least for Obama. Now can I get an Amen?

How about Condi Rice or Colin Powell. Both, great conservatives with credentials.

Voice of Reason — One could debate whether Hillary is a communist or just a hard-core socialist, but there is no debate that the Clintons have been and remain on the payroll of the Communist Chinese Military Intelligence Service.
