Giuliani Targets Dems in New IA Radio Ad
ABC News’ Jan Simmonds Reports: In a new radio ad hitting the airwaves in Iowa, Republican presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani, assails his Democratic opponents vowing that they will "raise taxes even more then they promised" and that they "want to take more of the people’s money."
With an introduction of "Here’s Rudy Giuliani," the former New York City Mayor underscores a point he has been making on the trail — saying the Democrats will take the country in the wrong direction if elected in November ’08.
Touting his record as mayor of New York City, Giuliani says in the ad that when he took office "they" gave him a group of recommendations to raise taxes and raise fees, which he "immediately threw… in the garbage can." Instead he explains he lowered taxes, reduced the growth of government and made government more accountable, resulting in a booming New York City.
Making his point he adds at the end, "I have no question that I can do the same thing for Washington that I did for New York City."
While leading in the polls nationally, Giuliani has struggled to find a foothold for his support in Iowa. In a recent poll by the Des Moines Register, Giuliani came in fourth place among registered voters in Iowa, one point behind former Gov. Mike Huckabee, R-Ark., who came in third. In the same poll, former Gov. Mitt Romney, R-Mass., held an eleven point lead over Republican candidates Fred Thompson from Tennessee.

.Sounds like the same scare tactics Bush used! “Those evil democrats are going to raise you taxes” but I will not. I’ll lower the taxes on the wealthy and spend money like a drunk sailor. One hopes the voters are getting wise to this kind of garbage being used over and over and over and over again!!!!!! First of all this man married his cousin, dressed in drag, then married 2 more times and he’s running as a conservaive republican. Go figure!
