Huckabee Reaches October Fundraising Goal
ABC News’ Kevin Chupka reports: Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, a candidate for the Republican presidential nomination in 2008, has announced via his campaign’s website that they have raised over a million dollars online since October 1.
A strong showing at the recent Republican debates and the Family Research Councils’ Values Voter Straw Poll led to increased media attention, prompting the campaign to set a online fundraising goal for the month of October to exceed its third quarter figure of $1,034, 487. As of 8 pm tonight the website reported a total of $1,064,271.73 in web-related receipts.
In an interview on the Fox Business Channel this evening, Huckabee suggested that in just the past seven days alone the campaign has raised a total (i.e. not strictly online donations) that eclipses any other fundraising quarter.
Such an increase in revenue for the campaign has allowed them to hire more help in their Little Rock headquarters in order to deal with all the increased support. More importantly though, it should allow Huckabee to cast a wider campaigning net in the key early states of Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina. The campaign’s first commercials, produced over the past few weeks, should begin airing in those states in the near future.
The Huckabee media blitz continues tonight and tomorrow with appearances on "The O’Reilly Factor," "Hannity and Colmes," and "Charlie Rose" among others

Obama Backs Off Birth Control Battle?
Mr. Huckabee has a right to be proud of reaching his October goal. As a side note, the Ron Paul campaign raised 250% of that total.
I wonder if Fox News will want to take a chance of upstaging its “botnet” smear campaign regarding Paul supporters by covering his campaign’s notable fundraising achievement.

Huckabee has been quietly building up a strong campaign that is now becoming more visible to the larger public. He has moved into second place by himself in Iowa, and it’s likely he will continue to gain support there and may even win the caucuses.
An Iowa win will put him in a very strong position, especially in the South.
The main reason he is climbing so fast in Iowa is because he is strongly in favor of a constitutional amendment banning homosexual marriage. Iowan’s are aware of how important this amendment is because a judge there has recently overthrown the Iowa state law banning homosexual marriage.
Other candidates like Thompson, Giuliani and McCain are against the amendment and they are doing poorly in Iowa. Thompson has fallen to fifth place there in the latest Iowa poll.

Gov. Huckabee is the first political candidate that I’ve ever contributed to.

Mike Huckabee is a liberal who does not understand economic policy. He governs by polls and is far more concerned with image than actual governance and vision.

Bert, Gov. Huckabee is not a liberal, he is a conservative, socially and fiscally. If the Club for Growth had been around in 1980, Ronald Reagan might not have become President. And how did Huckabee get reelected twice if he didn’t govern well in Arkansas? Here’s what Huckabee was able to accomplish while in office:
* Pushed through a Democrat legislature the first, major broad based tax cuts in the state’s history.
* Pushed through a Democrat legislature an $80 million tax cut package.
* Cut the state’s capital gains tax by 25%.
* Eliminated the income tax for families below the poverty line.
* Increased the standard deductions.
* Eliminated the marriage penalty.
* Doubled the child care tax credit.
* Eliminated capital gains tax on the sale of a home.
Ara, Huckabee is the first political candidate that I’ve contributed to as well. I am so excited about the momentum he is gaining. 2nd place in Iowa, and right up there with McCain and Romney in the national polls!

Mike was a great governor and i think he will make one heck of a president. Just knowing he is running and begining to make the rest of the country realize what people in Arkansas already know makes me proud to be a republican.

I am nearly sixty years old and Governor Huckabee is the first political candidate to whom I have ever given money. I have voted in a Presidential election only once before and that was an “against” vote. Before Huckabee there has never been any candidate worth voting FOR.Watch him speak or answer questions once and you will see for yourself.

Finally a man I can support, with good ideas, good morals, and a passion for them unlike the others who are okay with the status quo. Support Mike!

After listening to interviews and reserching Mike Huckabee, I made my first political contribution ever. I see no other cantidate that has the integrity and clear vision that he clearly communicates. We need a true leader like Huckabee.

I like Huckabee, he is my second choice. I don’t like his support of this illegal war and occupation, bombing Iran, and torture. I find it strange that those, like Bush, you claim to be Christians seem to think Jesus would approve of these actions. Bush’s drumbeat about attacking Iran is scary and irrational. Iran has every right to develop nuclear energy, and has been working with the UN regarding this issue. Middle East neigbors don’t seem to be concerned about Iran, nor is France, Germany, Russia, China, etc. Perhaps Israel might have some concerns, but don’t they already have lots of nukes?
