I’m a woman: “Why Should I vote for you and not Hillary?”
ABC News’ Sunlen Miller reports: I’m a woman: “Why Should I vote for you and not Hillary?”
The simple yet definitive question came in Tipton, Iowa from a 65 year old woman, who commented that she’s seen a revolution in women’s rights, and for the first time the nation is finally faced with a serious female candidate for president.
Then she asked Senator Obama outright, very directly, “Why should I vote for you and not Hillary?”
After the increase of jabs between the top candidates for the Democratic nomination over the last couple of weeks, the question perked the ears of many.
“It involves a little more risk with me,” Senator Obama admitted, and said there’s more safety with Clinton.
Calling her a “known commodity”, Obama explained “(she’s) been around for a long time. Bill’s there, you know we kinda know what we’re gonna get.”
Senator Obama said this is exactly the problem with a vote for Clinton, that there would be no significant change, and offered himself up as a better choice to bring big change.
“If every move you’re making is based on a static politics, or you’re looking backwards and you’re saying ‘okay this is what the polls tell me, this is how much we have to maneuver, and this is how I don’t open myself to too much criticism from the republicans’. If that’s your strategy…..you are not going to deliver on the big challenges,” Obama continued.
But the shots at his Democratic opponent didn’t come without any flattery.
“Hillary Clinton is a very capable person. She’s smart. She’s tough.”

Hillary Clinton has always been outspoken and stands for her beliefs. I personally think we don’t need to think “Bill’s there, we kinda know what we are going to get”. Don’t believe for a minute that these two always see eye to eye. I would guess they discuss a lot but she stands on her own principles.

I think that when it is all said and done Obama decided to take his run at the Presidency because he didn’t believe that Hillary Clinton could do as well as she has done given her so called “baggage”. He was wrong. Big mistake.
The TRULY big difference between Obama and Clinton is that Clinton is a career politician while Obama is taking his political shooting star as far as he can before returning to being a high priced lawyer in the private sector. He is definately NOT a career politician and as such lacks the commitment of someone trying to live in the White House. The smart money says stay with the person who has had a lifelong commitment to US politics in one form or another because the instability of Obama’s type of “change” is not what this country needs and his untested leadership could be dangerous to the country.
He comes across as a nice guy out on a lark and should go ahead and have his fun and then step aside and get on with his life. . . . .unless he is prepared to commit to a couple of more terms in the senate where his political commitments will be showcased for all to see. I don’t believe that is now or ever was his intentions.
Full speed ahead. . . let the chips fall where they may . . . and let us all take responsibility for our own contribution to where those chips fall and then not do what we did when we first voted George Bush back into the White House and have since done nothing but cried a lot about our decision making. Sour Grapes. Better take a close look at who is best for the country in our opinion and then just take our lumps if we are (once again) wrong.

“Hillary Clinton has always been outspoken and stands for her beliefs.”
Is this the same Hillary Clinton running for President? If so, why did choose not to answer so many of Tim Russert’s questions? Why, like George W. Bush, does she refuse to answer hypothetical questions?

Sounds like Obama can’t think of any reasons not to vote for Hillary either. Looks like Obama can’t count on his own vote!
Hillary is the most capable, she and Bill are loved around the world and only her election will be able to vastly improve the standing of America around the world.

It doesn’t matter to me that Hillary is a woman, I do not support her. As a black woman I believe that Senate Obama understands the black woman better than Senate Clinton; after all, his wife is a Black woman.

As a young man I would never dare in my wildest dreams vote for Hillary Clinton. She is everything this country is trying to get beyond. She is indeed a career politician, who only wants more power and glory. Senator Obama has been consistent throughout his years as a community organizer, a civil rights lawyer, a teacher at the University of Chicago and his time in the state and national legislation.
If you want to vote for someone who really is going to change the country then vote for Obama. True fundamental changes lies with him. As they say there is the world as it is… and the world as it can be. I’m shooting for the stars with Senator Obama. We will make a difference and it starts in IOWA!
