ABC News’ Bret Hovell Reports: Republican presidential candidate Sen. John McCain’s "Straight Talk Express" bus wasn’t going anywhere Friday when it broke down.
Every campaign bus breaks down at one point or another — today it was the Straight Talk Express’s turn. It happened on McCain’s 40th anniversary of being shot down over Hanoi.
The bus, slated to take McCain and a handful of media people from Sioux City, Iowa to Sheldon, Iowa, stopped running while waiting for the candidate outside an event. Campaign personnel piled into vans for the trip while the bus driver replenished fluids and tinkered with various mechanical components.
Within a half hour the bus was up and running, on it’s way to meet the campaign at the next stop.
