Obama To Open Headquarters in NYC

ABC News’ Sunlen Miller Reports: Senator Barack Obama, D-Ill., is setting up shop in the backyard of one of his biggest ’08 Democratic rivals, Senator Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y.

The Obama campaign has confirmed to ABC News that they will open a New York headquarters in the next few days.

"We are proud to have a strong base of grassroots support throughout New York City," Obama spokesperson Jen Pskai said, "And our hope is that the new office space will offer a place for volunteers and supporters to continue building our team leading up to the primary on February 5th."

While Obama faces a tough up hill climb in Clinton’s home state, the campaign is boasting about the estimated 24,000 people that came out for Senator Obama’s rally in New York City last week, suggesting it’s an indicator of the support he has in the state.
