Rudy Files in NH, Joins Red Sox Nation For Series

ABC News Jan Simmonds reports:  In Concord, New Hampshire Wednesday, Rudy Giuliani, R-N.Y., officially filed papers to be listed on the ballot for the state’s Republican Primary, for which there still is not a firm date.

Asked about whether he was disturbed by the unsettled primary date, Giuliani replied, "I go with the flow."

"You tell me when the date is and we’re gonna be here," Giuliani added. "And we’ll be working on it, and we’ll do the best we can with the date you give us."

Asked whether he thought New Hampshire should maintain its position as the first primary in the nation, Giuliani said he thought that it must.

"I’m very comfortable with them being the first in the nation primary," said Giuliani. "I took that position a year ago when I came up here that they should be the first in the nation primary.  I do not deviate from that and I think historically it’s a good idea."

Earlier in the day, Giuliani held a press conference in Boston where he received the endorsement of former Massachusetts State Treasurer Joseph D. Malone, R-M.A.  Interestingly, many of Malone advisors have gone to work for Mitt Romney’s, R-M.A., presidential campaign.

At the presser, Giuliani was also asked who he was rooting for in the World Series.

"I am rooting for the Red Sox in the World Series," said the die hard Yankee Fan.

"I’m not saying that just because I am just here in Massachusetts," added Giuliani. "If I am in Colorado in the next week or two, you will see I will have the courage to tell the people of Colorado the same thing – that I am rooting for the Red Sox in the World Series."

Giuliani’s remarks drew the attention of Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama, who made what could be viewed as a swipe at the former mayor.

In Boston, Massachusets Tuesday night, Obama admitted he’s a White Sox fan, congratulated the Red Sox and then had some fun with Giuliani. "Congratulations by the way Red Sox nation. I am a White Sox fan. You don’t want someone who pretends to be a Red Sox fan as president of the United Sates, you want somebody who is a principled sports fan, even when his team is losing he still stands up for ‘em," said Obama.

ABC News’ Sunlen Miller, who covers the Obama campaign, contributed reporting.

Gulliani, a Red Sox fan? Now who’s flip-flopping? I don’t want a President who’s a hypocrite.

Looks like Giuliani has seen the light or perhaps understand politics well…look at all the FREE press he gets. Not as stupid as Dodd who tried to make money off of Red Sox tickets!
