Clinton and Edwards Cook in Truman’s Kitchen

Democratic presidential rivals Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., and former Senator John Edwards, D-N.C., may not agree on every issue — but there is one thing they have in common: quoting former President Harry Truman.

Clinton, who bounced back from a tough debate in Philadelphia several weeks ago, tried to quell the idea that the "boys" were ganging up on her by quoting Truman, "If you can’t stand the heat, get out of the kitchen; I’m very much at home in the kitchen."

At last night’s democratic presidential debate in Las Vegas, Clinton issued the same statement and threw a little heat at her rivals for their sharpened criticisms.

"She continues to defend a system that does not work, that is broke, that is rigged and is corrupt," Edwards said during the debate, highlighting his main issue with Clinton, that she accepts money from Washington lobbyists.

Clinton responded, "I don’t mind taking hits on my record on issues, but when someone starts throwing mud at leas we can hope that it’s both accurate and not right out of the republican play book."

Today in Henderson, Nevada, Edwards told reporters he was not mud slinging, rather, "As Harry Truman said when he was challenged one time, someone said to him, Harry you’re giving them hell and he said no I’m telling the truth and it feels like hell and what I’ve been doing is telling the truth."

Yesterday the Edwards campaign launched plantsforhillary.com, a website that highlights the story of her campaign planting a question at an event.  Still Edwards insisted today, "It’s not personal for me. This is about what America needs and we have different perspectives about what America needs."

“If you can’t stand the heat, get out of the kitchen; I’m very much at home in the kitchen.” Great, go home and make some brownies for hubby. Speaking of brownies, I wonder if she will continue sending the DEA feds to arrest all those sick people who upon the advise of their doctors obtain legal prescriptions for marajuana to relieve their pain and suffering. Yes, enforce those Fed laws and the hell with State Rights and individual freedom an liberty. Gee, her husband said he didn’t inhale when trying the weed…ya right. I wonder if anyone is going to ask her if she inhaled.

For the record Clinton had the plans in place to take care of bin laden Bush just chose to ignore them. He focused instead on in his first 9 months on missing key board keys, invading Iraq, cutting taxes for millionares, and gutting environmental regulation oh and taking vacations. The army we went to war with was Clintons army and poor planning and ignorance have caused the current mess.
