Obama: “We’ll take their word for it”

ABC News’ Sunlen Miller reports: On Saturday the paper statements were flying between the Clinton campaign and the Obama campaign over the alleged "scandalous information” on Obama, agents of Clinton were storing, as reported by Robert Novak.

Sunday, Obama responded to reporters questions at a campaign stop in Marion, Iowa.

“Our campaign will not tolerate this kind of slime politics,” Obama said and added, “We just won’t tolerate it.”

The Clinton campaign has denied having the “scandalous information” against Obama that claimed in the NY Post, to which Obama responded, “I will take them at their word when they said they weren’t responsible for it.”

Obama added that it was “silly” for the Clinton campaign to insinuate in one of their statements that Obama was reacting negatively because of inexperience.

“We’re letting other people know that we will respond swiftly and forcefully when there’s untruths being floated out there,” Obama finished.

Obama referenced elections past, bringing up Kerry’s run in 2004, and McCain’s in 2000, to exemplify what he claims he will fight against, “The political environment has changed. Something gets on the internet and it’s halfway around the world before you blink an eye… I really value my reputation and my character and my family.”

These politics of dishonesty and misleading the public about untrue “scandals” and withholding information, just won’t cut it with the American people any more. This election is too important and people are paying attention. So we will be electing a President that takes pride in telling the truth and demanding the same from us. This is just what this country needs. We need politics of honesty for a change.
