Ron Paul Takes Baby Steps
ABC News’ Z. Byron Wolf Reports: Though it was not mentioned in Adam Nagourney’s New York Times write-up of the latest New York Times/CBS News poll or in the graphics the paper created to demonstrate the preferences of Iowans and New Hampshirites in the coming contests in those states, but there was some big news at the bottom of the recent polls.
Ron Paul, the libertarian Republican Ob-Gyn Congressman from Texas, who has been showing great fundraising successes, has 4 percent support in Iowa.
This may not seem like a lot and isn’t much outside the margin of error, but it’s the same amount enjoyed (or not enjoyed) by Sen. John McCain, who a year ago was the presumptive frontrunner in the race.
In New Hampshire, where Paul’s campaign thinks they have their best shot for an upset, Paul has 8 percent support, half as much as McCain, but more than either former Tennessee Senator Fred Thompson or former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, who despite his poor showing with 6 percent support in New Hampshire, has made great strides in Iowa with 21 percent. While Huckabee has been gaining support in Iowa and now has more than 20 percent in the New York Times / CBS poll.
Paul will take his gains, however small. Polls in the summer showed him with little or no support in either state.

Polls are useless when it comes to Ron Paul…most of his supporters are outside what polling companies label “likely primary voters”, so they aren’t represented.
Independents, people who never voted, young people, democrats and libertarians who support him are all ignored by these polls. And when there are only a total of 100,000 primary voters for a state that has 2 million residents, its a mistake to ignore so many people, especially when you know they are dedicated enough to show up and cast their vote

Ron Paul is quickly becoming a You Tube and Internet phenomenon. A mere mention of his name on a site or blog can lure enough traffic to choke a server. The latest buzz is that hard money proponents are hearing his message and after a new USA Today Ad to appear by next week, his next money bomb may more likely resemble a nuke.

For the amount of media coverage that Ron Paul gets, I’d say he’s doing incredibly well. Here is a guy who has an exciting new message that actually brings power back to the people, not the 30% who can tolerate George Bush. He’s the only candidate that has a voting record that shows he means what he says, in contrast to the standard flip-flopping hand puppet candidates. I scoff at the polls that come out and say: “Who do you support for President – Giuliani or Clinton?” My answer – NEITHER!

Good insight on the status of the Paul campaign. Paul has focused attention on the problems to everyday Americans caused by globalization of investments, including U.S. home mortgages, and the failure of Federal authorities to place the concerns of American population as a whole above the needs of the worldwide investment community. This makes the front runners nervous because much of their money is derived from these financial giants.

Dr. Ron Paul has a message that invokes passion from everyone I meet. Some of the message can at times be hard to digest due to what many of us, including me, had been taught in school – particularly how I was taught how the Federal Reserve was a good part of the gov’t and I now know the Federal Reserve is a secretive private bankers club.
The message of freedom, liberty, and personal responsibility moves people!
