Biden’s ‘January Night’ in Iowa
EmailABC News’ Brian Wheeler Reports: The Joe Biden campaign is hitting the airwaves in Iowa with a new 30-second ad called "January Night."
The ad shows falling snow over a black background while the voiceover intones, "It is a time of possibilities. Remarkable things can happen in the swirling dark cold of a January night."
Black and white photos of the Delaware Democrat fade in and out and words appear touting his accomplishments: "The Biden Exit Plan for Iraq won overwhelming support at home and abroad. Writing the Violence Against Women Act. Ending Genocide in Bosnia."
The voiceover continues: "People are deciding that the truth counts, that leadership takes a steady hand, a steal spine, a cool head, an honest heart. We’ll need wisdom and judgment. This world can be made safer, for our nation and our families. It’s time to choose a president."
It’s a contrast to the campaign’s last ad, which featured a somber Biden talking directly to the viewer. This time, he appears to be trying to rally Iowans to his cause with stirring rhetoric and high production value.

“The Biden Exit Plan for Iraq won overwhelming support at home and abroad.” Biden & Richardson would be a good team.

It’s a good ad, reflective and artsy as the Note described — I like it. Biden’s exit plan is sound and has been around for about a year I am thinking –I know his votes are low, but he is well versed in foreign policy and when Kerry was running I was wondering why he didn’t?? Rather than a VP, I think Joe Biden would be a strong Secretary of Defense. A cabinet position might be better than VP (unless we are sticking with the unlimited power Godlike image that Bush created) — I also think, in any capacity, I can see Biden with Obama’s administration.

How do we get from Biden’s overwhelming degree of experience in Congress to ..’I can see him with Obama’s administration’…At this critical time in history, the reins of power need to be in the hands of a leader with the width and breadth of experience Biden has…Obama lacks the ‘gravitas’ essential in leading the USA through the difficult years ahead. Biden’s a statesman, Obama is a politician aspiring to statesmanship.
