Bill Clinton Won’t Attend NSC Meetings in a Hillary White House

ABC News’ Jonathan Greenberger reports: If she makes it to the White House, Sen. Hillary Clinton said today her husband will take on the same responsibilities as traditional presidential spouses, with no access to National Security Council meetings.

"I think he would play the role that spouses have always played for presidents," said Clinton, in an exclusive interview with ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos. "He will not have a formal, official role, but just as presidents rely on wives, husbands, fathers, friends of long years, he will be my close confidante and adviser as I was with him."

The candidate said having President Clinton participate in National Security Council meetings "wouldn’t be appropriate," and in a crisis situation – like the one faced by President Bush this week after the assassination of former Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto – President Clinton would not sit in on discussions with his wife’s national security team.

But Sen. Clinton did say she expects the former president to play a role as an informal adviser to the White House staff.

"I’m going to expect that people in my administration will turn to him and rely on him, as we do with many people who have experience," she said.

Throughout her presidential campaign, Clinton has repeatedly said she would send President Clinton around the world on the United States’ behalf as a roving ambassador, and today reiterated her intention to do so, calling the former president "the most popular person in the world."

Clinton’s full interview with Stephanopoulos airs Sunday on "This Week."

And we are supposed to forget entirely about Travelgate, Whitewater, lost billing records, the Rose law firm, the Lippo Group, Johnny Chung, Harold Ickes, miraculous cattle-future winnings and lying under oath. So selective is our memory supposed to be that we are asked to credit Mrs. Clinton as a kind of co-President during her husband’s eight years, while her husband blocks public access to his Presidential records that might let us examine her actual contribution.

Bethany, we won’t mention the illegal war in Iraq that has cost us 4,000 plus dead, Bush’s usurping the US Constitution with the blessing of a Republican Congress under the Military Commissions Act of 2006, cutting the funds of VA hospitals while doling out 2 TRILLION in corporate welfare and giving the richest of the rich tax cuts!
The Republicans are corrupt and morally bankrupt! Better clean up your own act before you make claims that you can’t prove!

I am sorry but I don’t want another Bush or Clinton in the White House, ever! We have plenty of intelligent people in this country, without hidden agendas to place in this most powerful position! Someone like Ron Paul would be a refreshing change! Big government is going to be the end of this country.

Should Hillary seek out Bill’s advice, when it coms to matters pertaining to National Security?
If Hillary as president, were to tell Bill classified information, while Bill possesses no security clearance, then Hillary should be charged with Federal crimes and impeached.
Now..when Bill was president, did he pass on classified information to Hillary and ask her advice?
I think the answer is probably yes and, it just goes to show, that the congress was following the correct course, when it tried to impeach slick willie.
Both of them are losers.

Now you can see why Bill wants to get that oval office back, certainly not because he believes in Hillary. Its because he believes that the oval office hasnt been disgraced enough to make us look utterly ridiculous to the rest of the world. With the 20 year reign of Bush/Clinton so far, We look pretty sad. The only thing that could make it worse is always returning to our vomit like dogs.

Americans should know that there are many reasons why the CLINTONS are guarded, secretive and operate similarly to NEO-CON operatives and limit legitimate journalistic access to their campaign. Hillary & Bill do not believe that the people are entitled to ask them any questions which might have the effect of exposing her as a genuine AMERICAN FRAUD with the result of derailing Hillary’s nomination. The mainstream media is happy to receive the DAILY PRESS RELEASES & TALKING POINTS so that “journalists” in effect do not have to write. The Clinton campaign recognizes that there is not much more they can do in Iowa. Hillary has maximized her standing in the polls. Her campaign will now continue to try to drive up OBAMA’S negatives. Hillary Clintons needs to survive Iowa and NH and then can use friendly MEDIA SPIN from Campaign friendly columnists and advertisements to tell the rest of the story in other states where people do not get the same level of face to face. Ask yourself why the OLIGARCHY in America has compressed the primary season and has attempted to limit the power of IOWA & NH. Much like in the WIZARD OF OZ, if people can look long enough maybe they will see beyond the facade of the GRAND WIZARD. HILLARY wants to be put back in the PEOPLE’S HOUSE but yet does not believe that the people have a right to question her, including what she did last time she and Bill were there. STOP DRINKING THE CLINTON KOOL-AID. DO NOT PUT THE CLINTONS BACK IN THE WHITEHOUSE. DON’T GET FOOLED AGAIN. And in terms of the “CLINTON LEGACY” many Americans need to reconsider their “Good Times” feelings of the 1990′s, under Bill Clinton, there was an unheralded level of widespread Corporate Corruption, Greed and Influence Peddling. In many ways, Clinton’s loose morality opened the floodgates enabling W Bush and Cheney. GOOGLE: Clinton Cocaine Mena Arkansas Bush Connection Vince Foster Web Hubbbell Bimbo Eruptions. THERE IS NO RIGHT WING CONSPIRACY just many simple inconvenient truths about these people. “Cash for Trash” and “Right Wing Conspiracy are rubrics used to discredit any legitimate inquiry into the CLINTON ascent to power. AMERICA NEEDS A COLONIC. We are a country backed up in BANKRUPT political, social and media culture that feeds us a steady diet of the same junk that has left our society backed up with putrid fecal matter that must be flushed from our system before we can detoxify and move the republic forward.

Why on earth does anyone assume that Bill CLinton would WANT to be participating in any cabinet meetings or such in the White House if his wife became president? History shows form his unretractable behavior that he would prefer to use every opportunity to be in another, preferably locked room with some hefty young thing! And Hillary cares not a jot!

“Roving Ambassador” is code for the former president to continue his post white house travels and keep him entertained. The news media should do a break down of his post white travels and what that same schedule will cost the American people. What laws will prohibit the former president from raising funds for his foundations and can he accept speaking fees?

Interesting how she claims to have been an integral part of the inter-workings of government as First Lady therefore having significant foreign policy experience. That assumes she operated beyond the scope of a First Lady. Now if she is elected; ugh! he would have the duties of traditional presidential spouses. Yeah right! Often times incoming President seek opinions from their predecessors. How would this be different? Hillary, true to form, say anyuthing to get elected..

This is why its a big deal. The United States Presidency isnt a license to lie to Congress. Say what you will about Bush, but Dont overlook the sheer idiocy of Bill Clinton and his lack of self control and devotion. This is what will happen:

Hillary shouldn’t “expect” anything in regards to the White House. She won’t be elected. She’s a disgrace to politics and to women and she will ruin this country if given a chance. She has no more “experience” than Obama has. Eight years as a White House enabler does not qualify you for the role of Commander in Chief. Eight years as First Lady (and I use the term ‘lady’ loosely) also does not qualify one for the role of President unless you also think Laura Bush, Barbara Bush, Nancy Reagan and other First Ladies should run as well.

My question is: Was Hillary advising Bill Clinton when he refused to take custody of Osama Bin Laden? these are records that i would honestly like to see. Was she advising Bill when he tried to Bomb Bin Laden? How did They allow Al Quaida to become so strong in spite of all of the evidence we had against Bin Laden? We really need those records in order to make an educated decision. After all, would you hire someone for the CEO of a corporation without being aware of any of that persons decisions or responsibilities? I wont blindly vote for Hillary because of her last name. PUT UP OR SHUT UP HILLARY.

Bill Clinton’s former Press Secretary (now supposedly an independant journalist) SOMEHOW gets an ‘exclusive interview’ with Hillary Clinton.
And if you don’t think Stephanopolous isn’t going to be given a prominent role in any Hillary Clinton administration as payback I suppose?

Here’s an example.
The left argues about Bush’s illegal war, yet many on the left voted for it. At the same time, the right is aruging that the left is anti-war dispite the fact that many on the left voted for it.

When is the LSM going to call BS on this? Hillary is arguing that she was not a “traditional spouse,” but Bill will be. At the same time, she’s asking people to vote for her because she and Bill are still the “two-fer” they offered back in 1992. Which is it? And do people really want to go back to the Clinton years? Do they really want Bubba wandering the halls of the White House again looking for love in all the wrong places? Can we stand another eight years of the Clinton soap opera? Isn’t there enough going on in the world without having to deal with their drama?

The only reason William Jefferson Clinton ever got to the Whitehouse in the first place was because of the little egomanic with a crewcut, Ross Perot. Perot said in 1992, of Clinton: “I wouldn’t hire him as the assistant dishwasher on the third shift in a greasy spoon joint.” But he managed to take close to 23% of the Bush “No New Taxes” protest vote

Nearly a dozen terrorist attacks on America, the only response: launching a single cruise missile at an aspirin factory. Gave the Chinese Communists advanced missile guidance systems for their “Space Program”, which they immediately fitted onto their ICBM’s, so they can vaporize us more accurately now. Don’t forget giving the North Koreans light-water nuclear reactor technology… Thanks Bill and Hill. Are enemies love you, traitorous wretches.Eight more years please. America isn’t destroyed yet, but we know the Clinton’s will do their best.

From what I have been able to gather the lefties posting on this site (Though some others are not innocent) have been reciting the crap that they hear from their favorite libral media outlet and/or protest group. (Gay protesters for homo-cidal Palastine? Sounds perfectly reasonable.) Most of this crap is meerly half-truths or even outright lies printed to further a media organization’s agenda. Since 7% of media workers consider themselves republican, it sounds biased to me.
Finally, incase some of you have your heads COMPLETELY buried in the sand here’s a fun line to memorize: “Islamic Extreamists are trying to kill us”. I don’t care how much anyone thinks that America or Bush is at fault for stirring these fanatics up, the simple fact is that these people want us dead and they will kill themselves to do it. When I hear someone call for a xenocidal jihad, I tend to give them the benefit of the doubt. So we need a president with firm convictions and a plan for the Middle East. I’m sorry but Hillary’s Hillarious ideals and actions not to mention her own shady records (Still waiting to see those 2600 secret documents, Hill) are not something that this country needs right now.

I am a republican and Bush supporter.Democrats like obama and clinton got this far telling us how we had to retreat when things got tough in iraq they never cared about what happens if iraq failed.Their only goal is how to get their love back from the liberal socialist do nothing for the world europeans.

Have you ever thought that Mrs. Broderick’s rape was not the only rape of Clinton’s career, but just the one where the victim had the courage to come forth? It is common knowledge within law enforcement (and advocates for rape victims) that rapist don’t stop with just one rape. Once they’ve had the experience of having that sort of cruel and dehumanizing control over someone they are compelled to seek the experience again and again. So, there are probably more Bill Clinton rape victims out there, they’re just ashamed (and fearful of Hillary’s wrath) that they don’t come forward. A sexual predator is a predator for life. But you Clintonites just think Bill & Hillary are such great politicians for your side that you choose to overlook Bill’s criminal character flaw? I don’t want this scumbag living next door much less living in the WH.
And, how can Hillary be an adocate for “women’s rights” when she was charged with discrediting and humilating any “bimbo” who thought to come forward in the 1990′s and tell the truth about “Little” Bill? I guess she’s just for SOME women’s rights. That seems hypocritcal conduct, but hey were talking about a Clinton aren’t we, so that figures.

Most people do not realize this but you can tell a whole lot about a person if you watch their eyes. I have watched Hillary’s facial expressions and eyes in the film clips of her at the Democratic rallies and it is scary. She despises having to lower herself to these peons’ level in order to get their vote. I bet that she showers herself nightly thinking that she has to wash off the scum of these ordinary people. She thinks that she should be crowned President for some God only knows reason. My only thought on this is that Satan has a special place reserved for you and Bill and it is mighty hot!

Also, as to the claim of her superior intelligence, did Bill really fool her with his denial of having sex with that woman, did she not really know that at least three of her staffers were maliciously smearing Obama, and did she really flunk the DC bar examination?

Oh please give me a break. Who ignored that August 2001 presidential briefing titled Bin Laden determined to strike inside the USA? Bush
Who cut funding to fight terrorism as soon as he took office? Bush
9/11 happened on Bush’s watch so deal with it!
The greatest country on earth is falling apart now because of Bush.
How are you liking those cheap gasoline prices that Bush promised would result from going to war with Iraq? Didn’t work out so well did it? Now we are having stagflation & depression is looming. Bush has destroyed America far more than any terrorist could have done.

If you don’t believe the HC will say ANYTHING to get elected, reference getalife’s post above about the oil price promise and don’t forget that she offered up $5K to all new born babies (for a while, until she had her staff quietly backtrack – AFTER she had used that statement to buy a few votes) Further, look at her audience at the time and that makes it even worse! That’s what she thinks she can do, folks! (And sadly, she often seems to get away with it…)

Again, they brainstorm how they can fool us again. Hey Zac – that briefing from August 2001 didn’t give anything specific, much less when this coward would strike. But then again, your selective memory excluded the opportunity the horn-dog had to capture bin Laden, but he declined because he had a higher priority meeting with some intern-turn-humidor. You people are being so thickheaded. Do you think that Bill Clinton was the only president that had an affair? Can you say Kennedy, Ike, Roosevelt just to name a couple, I am sure there are more.
Bill Clinton did more for this Country than any other modern president. Bill Clinton was not the president on 9/11, Bush was, and he was in office eight months— and did nothing about terrorism until the attacks on the WTC. Remember, Bush and his VP and Bush’s Dad were very good friends of Bin Laden’s father, thats why Bush told every one that we were going in and get Bin Laden in three months. I guess that gave everyone the chance to get their oil out fast and Bin Laden, time to hide real good. Let me give you a few FACTS about Clinton’s Successes while he was in office.
He averaged 1.000 points on the Dow yearly for eight years.
We had the higest and most unprecedented ecomic growth. EVER
higest homeownership ever.
The lowest crime ever.
the most jobs ever
The lowest intrest rates ever.
A BALANCED budget, which is gone now.
The greatest growth and prosperity ever.
The lowest welfare rolls ever.
This didn’t happen by mistake.
Clinton turned Ronald Reagan’s red ink (trillions of dollars: yes, that’s 12
zeros) into black ink. This was all done without a war.
Bush has not only used up the surplus we had but we are farther in debt than we have ever been as a Country. We are borrowing money from China every day, for crying out loud.
People use you brains!

If you don’t like Hillary Clinton just don’t vote for her. Its as simple as that. And if she does become president there is noting you can do about it anyway. I do not like Obama, the know it all about foreign policy at the age of 10, sure he does. He can’t even campaign correctly. Thank goodness his run of the mouth wife Michelle has kept herself in the house for a change. I can’t imagine her in the white house. And “guess who’s coming to dinner”? The Muslims of course. Don’t forget that Obama is a Muslim, not a christian. He has been critizing Hillary and Edwards and he is not as experienced as either one of them. He is not even qualified to become president of this country, no experience, no capabilites and not intelligent enough.

Thanks to Mary, I am reminded why I bought my present house in February 1993. It was because the horn-dog and the Hildabeast scared the crap out of me and what they would do to the financial market of this country. They blatantly take credit for the Reagan Revolution, and even said that their tax-increased was good for the economy. I might not have been an economist, but I have never heard that by raising anyone’s cost will get me to spend MORE MONEY! Their promise of a middle-class tax cut was reduced to two bucks a day and that came back to haunt them. They were forced to cut the welfare when the Republicans took control of Congress. It was at the time of the signing of that bill, the adolescent president barked that he will sign the bill now, but will change it later. Remember history folks – Hitlery will do the same thing except she’ll do it more bluntly.

“”"She has vowed to give every child $5,000. She has promised to redistribute wealth. Billary wants to talk to terrorists. Healthcare will be socialized. Womb to the tomb governmental care will grow exponentially. Illegal immigrants(law-breakers) will get liscences and continued priveleges.
Unacceptable!”"”"”
Unacceptable indeed
But consider this.
If you have a problem with Hill giving $5,000 each to our children, Shouldn’t you have a problem with American dollars being spent on rebuilding Iraq? Isn’t it welfare either way? If using tax dollars to build a bridge in MN is pork spending, isn’t it also pork spending to build a bridge in Baghdad? Wasn’t Iraq oil revenues going to pay for that?
The success in the Anbar province
is a result of talking to our enemies. The people we are supporting now were killing American soldiers, but not anymore. I’m not saying talk to the terrorist or not. It worked with Britain and the IRA, but it may not work with the current bunch of hoodlums. All options should be open at all times. Besides the current definition of terrorism would convict our founding fathers of terrorism.
Health care? That’s complicated. I don’t believe the system is that broken. I don’t think there is a really good example of a great health care system anywhere in the world.
If you’re concerned about womb to tomb health care, how do you feel about womb to tomb government surveillance? Big Brother is coming to America and both parties are tripping over themselves to be the ones to serve it to you.
Don’t fear the licensing of illegal immigrants. It will give the government their address. ICE will know where to go. It’s a similar arguement as to why the right-wing says licensing of guns is bad idea. This is somthing which I agree with the right-wing. Well the right-wing was once against that, but now they seem to be for the all knowing, all seeing government.

The thing that keeps killing me is how Queen Hillary’s given a free pass on every questionable or controversial act in her political history.
I can guaran-damn-tee you if it was Fred Thompson who had accepted and then returned $800,000.00 from dubious Chinese donors in New York, the Times would be up his butt with a microscope.
But with Hillary, “Whaaat?” Page B-23. Gone next day. How DO they do it? Like Winston Smith at the Ministry of Truth, mostly. Or like palace Court members covering up for Royal indiscretions. Is it because they love her or fear her? I’m guessing both.
If Hillary is the Democratic nominee I can’t wait to see the Republican grilling. Won’t be so easy as the drivers’ license for illegal aliens in four answers or less.
Not that I’d ever vote for a Democrat, but if I did it would probably be for Obama. The guy is quick on his feet and sharp on his toes. Who can forget the retort at the debate? “Hillary, I plan on having YOU advising me, too!” HA! That was a “Where’s The Beef” moment.

Has Mariann (or any other Hillary supporter on this thread) bothered to give SPECIFIC examples of Hillary’s qualifications?
Well, other than being married to a President that is. I mean Hillary has served in the Senate for 6 years, surely she has some major legislative bills to her credit?
All I’ve seen (and continue to see) are generalities and attacks on anybody who dares question Hillary. I can’t help but wonder why people who claim to be convinced they will vote for her cannot provide a simple list of what she has DONE to qualify her for the position of President.
Oh, and if you use the word “Bush” in your answer, then you’re not really answering the question. We know Hillary isn’t Bush. What we know (and that Hillary doesn’t) is that Bush IS NOT RUNNING IN 2008.

You lefties can lie all you want about the 90′s. HISTORY will judge Bill correctly as the most damaging, traitorous president in history. Why you ask?
Chinese ICBM’s couldn’t hit water after falling out of their boats PRIOR to BILL allowing Hughes to help the chinese get their satelites into orbit. Oh by the way, the chinese used the same info to correct the targeting on their NUCLEAR TIPPED ICBMS. Whether its 10 years or 100 years down the road the clintons will be the reason for the chinese destroying us. Libearlism is a disease.

Geez, now that I’ve had time to read all of the comments, I can see all sorts of comments wandering off the topic.
People, this article is about Bill’s role in a Hillary presidency.. and so Bill’s record as a president is fair game. Republicans shoudn’t be mentioned at all by posters, because they are irrelevant to this subject.
Let’s stick to the topic of Bill as first man, which you habe to admit has all sorts of issues associated with it.
Me – I wouldn’t expect nor trust him to keep his nose out of things, but that’s just my take on this issue.

OK, I guess it was unfair to ask what Hillary has ACCOMPLISHED to make her the “most qualified” to become president. Let me try it a different way: what has she TRIED to accomplish as a Senator that makes her the most qualified?

Compared to the George Bushes (father & son) Dick Cheney, Halliburton, KBR, Blackwater, et al., the Clintons appear to be absolutely sunshine people: open and fresh. It amazes me how so many conservative wanna-be’s criticize Hillary with unproven allegations which – even if true – would be as nothing compared to what is provably true of the Bush administration.

Jordan, why are you unable to answer a simple question? Why the attacks on Republicans in place of an argument in favor of Hillary?
It’s very easy to criticize and name call those you disagree with. Why don’t you try making a persuasive argument for Hillary (if you can)?
Your inability to do so (without name calling others) says volumes about the weakness of your position. Don’t you have ANY arguments in favor of Hillary?

But, doesn’t the 22nd amendment to the constitution prohibit her or Bill from being president, again? Isn’t that the down side of being co-president? Is Hillary trying to have it both ways? Is she talking out of both sides of her mouth to suggest Billary won’t be Hillary’s co-president? By the way, where are the public records of her actions as president, or co-president the first time? Or, did Sandy Berger stick the document in his sock?

Here is a little advice for them though. You’ve got a little over 10 months until the election. You might want to spend some time before then working on why we should vote FOR Hillary instead of spending all your time and energy tearing down others.
At the very least, stop complaining about the “politics of personal destruction” until you get around to it. Makes you look insincere and hypocritical.

As far as having the proper clearance, all former presidents retain thier security clearances. If Hillary were to win the presidency it could actually raise some sticky constitutional issues as Bill would likley have undo influence, a situation never even imagined when the term limts provision was enected.
And tell me who, in a Hillary run White House would keep ole Bill from doing whatever he wanted? They both have so much dirt on each other it is pathetic.

Good point, however American companies, at this very moment, are helping the Chinese build the worlds most hi-tech surveillance system for the Olympics. A system that will be used to track people after the olympics. The State Department claims the technology has no law enforcement or intelligence purpose. Yet, our government wants to deploy the same systems here for the purpose of law enforcement and intellignce.
I must point out that buying Chinese products has allowed China to build better weapons and expand their military. The American citizen has done more for China’s military than Clinton ever could. Albeit Clinton helped open the door.

Bush certainly lied to the American public about Rumsfeld staying on. He knew for a fact Rumsfeld was leaving when he said Rumsfeld wasn’t. That meets the most narrow definiton of a lie.

Honest, you contradict yourself. If lying is wrong for Republicans isn’t it also wrong for Democrats? And, if you use God to criticize and negatively judge Republicans isn’t it proper and intellectually honest to hold Democrats to the same standard? I’ve noticed that liberal say, Republicans believing in God, are quick to condemn. Then the liberal proceeds to condemn, using God who they do not believe in, to condemn, while condemning Republicans for using God to condemn. Liberals seem to project their negative traits onto conservatives, then condemn the conservative for being what the liberal is doing and what is normal for liberals. In 9 out of 10 political discussions the liberal will be the one to introduce God into the discussion only to make a blanket condemnation. While accusing the conservative of doing the thing they do all the time.

I really am worried about my country, my American people. God help us please. I am still oooking for a leader to be a leader in the world and not one to try to get along. If we had any leadership in the last 2 presidencies, we would not have the problems we have now. I am of the old school of doing what’s right.
Now we have the Pakistan situation. There are nuclear weapons there and we have the idiots talking about free elections in a chaotic, country. Any candidate we have now cannot make the right decisions. Its not a matter of hillary vs republicans, dems vs whoever. It’s really about survival of our country and the world. Europa has lost it. Ron Paul has probably lied less than the others and look at his poll numbers. He is the only one talking about following the Constitution. Jwagner: One thing that you need to understand is that the horn-dog lied under oath in a criminal case where he was accused of sexual harrassment. It matter not that the question was about a hide the cigar moment or whether he mistreated someone, but that he lied in his response. If the other presidents lied, were they under oath to answer questions in an investigation? In case you forgot, the only fraternity president who didn’t inhale pot in the history of this country was disbarred. If lawyers were routinely disbarred for having sex outside of their marriages, there would be a demand for lawyers today. So, before you throw the argument that “everyone lies…” think about the situation.

bethany: you are not supposed to forget anything. In this country of the rule of law, you are supposed to accept that for six years, at a cost of $60 – $70 million, the Clintons were investigated from head to toe, and no charges were brought against Hillary. Bill was charged with perjury about an adulterous affair. You may want also to remember that Robert Fiske, the first Special Prosecutor who investigated the couple, and who was known to be fair and non-partisan, was sacked for no reason. In his place, a Prosecutor known to be a rabid political opponent of the Clintons was installed. The reason given, before a Senate Committee, for this change of Prosecutors was that people would graciously accept the conclusion of the Prosecutor, if the Clintons were not charged for any infractions.
Apparently, judging from your post, that politicization of the Special Prosecutor selection process did not achieve its objective.
How mainy spouses can withstand the kind of investigation that the Clintons endured? readerK.

When Bill became president, Hillary was just a lawyer from Little Rock who had traded professionally on her husband’s name and participated in his campaigns and crooked real estate deals. If she becomes president, he will be a two-term president whose popularity and connections she traded on to get his old job. How can she say with a straight face that Bill would be a traditional first spouse and not a decision-maker?
If she means it, I see a titanic battle the first few weeks followed by Bill leaving on a very long apology tour to every nation we have ever offended.

Posted by: TrickyVic | December 29, 2007, 9:37 pm 9:37 pm

Hillary’s has set a trap for herself. She justifies her current run for president based on her experience from already serving as president. If we take her at her word, that she is the most qualified candidate to be president because she has been president, this introduces the 22nd amendment. Therefore, her justifications and qualification to be president, her experience, establishes the fact that she has circumvented the constitution, serving as president without being elected president. And, her current run for president reveals she is attempting to circumvent the constitution a second time, to serve as president, again. Let her continue promoting her unique experience to be president because she has been president then hang her with her own “presidential” rope. Hillary and Bill have out done themselves! Does it take four hands to handle this whooper?

Bottom line is that politicians have to stoop to talking to people with a first grade level understanding of politics, foreign policy, fiscal responsibility and self defense. Just look at Al Gore (V.P. or kindergarten teacher – sounds the same). Bottom line is that we get sound bites because that is all most understand.

Larry, use that logic if you want to convince yourself that she set a trap.
Certainly she has no experience as President. Period.
But here’s the facts.
Bush was elected Governor of Texas in 1994 elected to President 2000. That means when he took office, he had 6 years of government service.
Hillary was elected Senator of New York in 2000, if she is elected President in 2008, she will have served in government for 8 years. Thus having 2 years more experience in government than Bush at the time of their elections.

TrickyVic: Only one problem with your line of reasoning. Not all experience in government is the same. When you’re a senator, you get the benefit of having your vote count against someone else in the same chamber, and the side with the most number of votes wins. You can afford to be on the wrong side of the issue and you have the benefit of other colleagues to correct you. When you’re governor, the situation is vastly different – your one vote means a lot more (i.e. signing legistation into law).

When BOTH candidates come from the same cesspool of a club (Skull and Bones), the same schooling, the same political vetting process over the years, etc. what do you expect?
The same damn ideas, the same damnable lack of morality, the same genuflections to the rich and powerful, and the same..same..same ear for the loudest dollar bill.
I have come to the conclusion that to change back to a truly constitutional government is our only way to survive as a country that we recognize.
But until we can have an honest and *real* election, with a ballot that is traceable from one end to the other, not wide open to count manipulation as we saw in 2000 and 2004, not until then will we have a chance of having anything else but the same as ever before. A corrupt and greedy group of pigs, saying what you want to hear, then doing what their bank account or political bias dictates.
Trouble is, I don’t think we have many more elections left before they will be simply done away with, eliminating our one and only way to effect change in the government.
Sorry folks, I think that the radical right wing has, in their incredible stupidity and conceit, screwed this country ultra-thoroughly, probably beyond repair, and the democrats have proven to be a bunch of gutless wonders, sitting there raking in their money and perks and their retirement packages while the very principles that men have died over are allowed to perish. Makes you sick.

TIM: YOU TALK ABOUT EXPERIENCE…THE CURRENT PRESIDENT HAD NEVER, NEVER BEEN OUT OF THE U.S. (EXCEPT MEXICO) BEFORE HE TOOK OFFICE. AT LEAST HILLARY HAS BEEN TO 85, REPEAT 85 COUNTRIES, SPENT TIME WITH BUTHO OVER THE LAST 12 YEARS.

“”"What has she accomplished that qualifies her to be President?”"”
The same thing was said about Bush’s first run.
Bush had 4 years State government experience when he was elected President.
Hillary will have 6 years experience in the federal government if she is elected.
It’s fair game to call out Hill’s experience just as it was fair game to call out Bush’s when he was running. But the fact is that Hill will have 2 years more government experience at the time of her election than Bush had at his.
Damn I had to imply that Hillary victory again. I just threw up in my mouth some.
BTW, I don’t think anyone is implying that Bush is running again.

There is ONLY one Democratic Candidate that can win the White House, and that is Hillary Clinton.. She is the only one that the Republicans fear, and they keep pushing for Edwards, or Obama.. It’s a smoke screen, don’t believe the nay sayers.. The true Democrats will vote for Hillary because she has the most experience, and the best chance of winning.. Stick together this time. and don’t be fooled by the Republican Dirty Tricks Committee, as they are the American Taliban.. They want to put the women back in the kitchen, barefoot & pregnant

More of the same ol same ol. Hillary has the most experience BUT I WON’T BE BOTHERED TO LIST IT. Followed by more name calling about Republicans.
Therefore, my earlier post is still valid. Allow me to repeat it like one of the Hillary robots on this thread keep doing.
We’re sorry. Media Matters and Huffington Post have not yet posted a response to this question. We will answer your question as soon as we have our talking points from our masters.
You cannot expect us to answer a question on our own. That’s an evil trick used by our opponents to distract us from the wonderfulness of Hillary.

yaptown43 there is a little document you might have heard of, it’s called The Constitution of the United States of America. Unless the President is tried for impeachment the Executive branch cannot be forced to testify to the Legislative branch. It’s generically called “seperation of powers” (Articles 1, 2, & 3).
As for the oral sex stuff, he did single handedly make it considered to be not sex.
I actually agree with you on that “bunch of fools” (50% Democrat INCLUDING the person who helped craft the policy to prevent the intelligence agencies from talking to each other, BTW) that was the 9/11 commission. It was a great CYA by both political parties. Just enough blame on everyone, but not enough to really damage any careers.

There is much more that can be said about Hillary: – forgiving an unfaithful husband that mirrors her capacity to heal a nation’s wounds; – raising a decent daughter that mirrors her capacity to restore respectability to America; – showing personal strength and discipline that mirrors her capacity to be commander-in-chief; – keeping generational bonds in the family that mirrors her capacity to inspire bipartisanship.

Being the liberated woman that Hillary is she must believe that what is good for the goose is good for the gander to. Hillary’s statements that she would send Bill around the world on behalf of the United States’ as a roving ambassador tells the whole story. If Hillary is elected Bill is on his way and probably not any too soon for Hillary. Her statement regarding Bill having no access to National Security Council meetings makes me wonder if that is all that Bill has no access to. Isn’t it strange that Bill has so much public approval and Hillary so little? Is politics all about a smile ?

Time for the Bush-Clinton axis of evil to perish. I am sick of this junta that has run the country for 28 years so far. Are we supposed to endure another 4 or 8 years of this Orwellian crap? Please for God sakes everyone vote for a candidate who you think will at least try to do some good for the country.
This reminds me of a classic Simpsons episode where two aliens took over Clinton and Dole during the election in order to take over the world.
Kang: It’s a two party system! You have to vote for one of us!
Man: He’s right, this is a two-party system.
Man 2: Well, I believe I’ll vote for a third-party candidate.

I agree with Gary. Once Hill is elected, Bill’s usefulness to her is at an end. She will enjoy publicly humiliating him by sending him away on some apology tour to the countries that didn’t lift a finger while we fought the thugs and terrorists. He won’t get security clearance and he won’t attend meetings. There will be no doubt who’s in charge and who isn’t. He’ll have no more policy role than W has given his dad. But this is still not sufficient reason to vote for her.

Posted by: E. O'Neal | December 29, 2007, 11:37 pm 11:37 pm

In all fairness J. Bush did not release the name of a CIA agent. It was was the State Department’s number two guy Dick Armitage (2001 – 2005).
However it is fair game to take Bush to task for backing out of his word to fire anyone involved in the leak.
Not to mention the lie job pulled on the American public that got Scott McClellan(sp?) to resign. Funny how team red was believing Scott then, but not now that he’s pointing fingers in his up and coming book they think he’s lying.
The fact is, dispite the initial leak from Novack’s source about Plame, the Bush admin was actively leaking intelligence information to the press. This is not unsual for any administration, they all do it in an attempt to affect public opinion. What was unusal was the way Bush handled it by claiming he would fire people when he KNEW his people were involved. I don’t think most Presidents would have handled it that way.

I wish there were a candidate out there like George Washington who didn’t desperately want the Presidency like most of these candidates on both sides do. There are two candidates who at least somewhat fit that description: Fred Thompson and Ron Paul. Paul may want the Presidency badly, but he doesn’t sugarcoat things and will say what he believes in, isn’t triangulating to appeal to the most voters. Thompson isn’t as flashy or well-spoken as the other candidates, but he seems to understand and respect the Constitution.
I am afraid of some of these candidates, especially Hillary Clinton and Mike Huckabee, who are so incredibly ambitious. They’d have been run out of town 200 years ago, just like I’m afraid George Washington and John Adams would be run out of town today. Very sad, really.

If any new president fails to call GWB and BC when the situation merits, such is foolish. If HC becomes prez, then, in major international decision making, BC should be among those she consults in foreign affairs. Forget emotion for a moment. Forget the names of the persons involved. Forget foibles. Think getting broadly based and knowledgeable information.

YOu also don’t understand the Constitution if you think Bush is doing anything wrong by having Gitmo open and is not allowing these illegal enemy combatants to have Constitutional rights.
Funny how the media will investigate and leave no stone unturned investigating Bush, but when it comes to Clinton scandals (like Norman Shu), they cover it for a couple days then forget about it.

Brian I believe that too.
Back in Washington’s days the government didn’t have the ability to spend the peoples money in the manner they have today. Income taxes didn’t exist. And the federal government didn’t have much control of the citizens, that was left to the states.
Now days, candidates do it for the power, it’s not about respecting the Constitution anymore.

Posted by: Squonkamatic | December 29, 2007, 11:55 pm 11:55 pm

That’s what appeals to me about Fred Thompson. I don’t think he’s in it for the power. I think he’s in it for his country and that’s probably why you don’t see him quite as fired up as some of the others. He won’t melt down if he loses.
No one on either side more than Hillary comes across as desperate for the presidency. I don’t agree with Obama’s policies, but I don’t fear him as a president. I fear Hillary Clinton because for her it is all about the power.
Nationalized health care, “I wanna TAKE the oil companies’ profits….” Those are dictatorial philosophies. Do you also think she’d even hesitate to reinstitute the Fairness Doctrine to silence her opponents if given the chance? How about gun control? I see an all-out assault on the Constitution if she’s the president with a democrat congress.

Hillary has no honor, no American descended from an honor culture will vote for her. That leaves about 46% of Americans left who would consider it. I’m a democrat and as i look at the pools i fear my party has learned nothing from the last 2 elections. As Hillary gets closer and closer to the nomination we are just repeating the same mistakes we made in ’04 and ’08. Picking an unelectable candidate. I urge democrats around the country to please vote for any other candidate in our primaries. If you don’t plan on going to the primary please change your mind. I will be voting for Obama on the 3rd. And i don’t mind for who you vote for as long as you don’t vote for her, because a vote for her is a vote for a 3rd defeat. And she won’t just lose us the presidency. With her at the top of the ticket we will suffer in the Senate, the House and the governor elections.

Bush has beaten you, not once, but TWICE, and you idiots are purple with rage, to the point that you will vote for a complete vacuum devoid of anything other than lies, fabrications, and a worthless piece of crap husband. She will never get elected in this country. There aren’t enough brainless idiots in this country to vote her in. The clintons have never gotten more than 48% of the votes in an election. Your only hope is for a third party screwup, like the Perot debacle, to happen again. I know the liberal media is working on that with Ron Paul & the Huckster but t’won’t happen. So, brace yourselves for yet another loss & you can blame it on the Republican winner again. You’ll have another GOP president to hate for eight years while he continues GW’s policies of protecting our butts rather than waving a white flag & running like bill clinton and jimmie carter.

Seems to me as president of the US, he could have found someone at least somewhat attractive (i.e., JFK and Marilyn Monroe = an attractive couple). But, then again, even Monica is a step up from Hilary. OK, that’s mean and I apologize (even if it is the truth!).

Just say NO: no to all the baggage, scandal, and shame that Billary would bring back to the White House. Mark my words, if HRC gets the nomination, it would galvanize GOP voters and indies and lots of Dems would sit out the election or vote GOP.

Hillary is a farce. Bill was elected promising universal health care. The Congress was democratic. Eighty percent of the public was behind it. The economy could easily support it. Yet her program was 1000% failure. She had another 6 years to try to revive it. Nothing happened. Can anybody actually be that incompetent? Let’s hear the excuse for 8 years of failure on her supposed pet program – when her husband was the president no less. Now there’s an election, she’s promising you healthcare again just like Bill did – with an unworkable mandatory plan to force down people’s throats – a windfall to the insurance lobbies that fund her. The theory is that if you can fool them once, you can always fool them. As Geffen says, “the Clintons lie with such ease, it’s troubling”. and the NY Times’ William Safire called her a “congenital liar”. Hillary flunked healthcare. She flunked Iraq. She flunked Iran. She even flunked the Washington bar exam twice, and is a serial failure as a housewife. That’s her record – her so-called experience. What a hoax. She cannot even take care of her household, but wants to be your president, and leader of the free world. Would you bet on a horse that collapses every time it comes out of the gate? Would you get on a ship if the captain was the guy from the Titanic? The American people are not that stupid. I’d be willing to bet that both Hillary and Bill are on drugs right now. Bill is a security risk to the USA as he is susceptible to anything that comes along in a skirt. We need intelligent and honest leadership. Obama is a brilliant and visionary leader with a powerful brain. He graduated first in his class at Harvard. That’s not easy. He’s a uniter that gets all the difficult things right.

NOTHING CAN BE FURTHER FROM THE TRUTH> WHat is the truth? THe truth is that Ronald Reagan rescued this great nation from the likes of Jimmy Carter! Interest rates were at 21 percent plus. THis country was a mess. The prosperity under Ronald Reagan and the PEACE dividend was enjoyed by President Clinton after the tearing down of the Berlin Wall and demise of the Soviet Union. FORGET???? BUT let’s not make the same mistake again by electing another Jimmy Carter!!!! Jimmmy Carter who tore down the military. Despised the military. Jimmy Carter created the birthplace of terrorism. Who discissed as president did not back the SHaw of Iran because he didn’t like his humon rights record? You try that once scoopy er Sean Eastman, let’s see if you get off with no charges….If ORAL SEX isn’t a big deal, then WHY did he lie under oath?!?! Ooops, alas he was carrying a bible to church in another pictorial..Wait, if he’s a bible thumper, he’s going to hell for “bearing false witness”…Wait a minute , are we discussing CLINTON that turned his back on his GAYS pledge, CLINTON who lied to grand jury or CLINTON who lied to the American People? You decide…Hmm, or CLINTON who bombed an aspirin factory or allowed the muslims to slaughter christians whole-sale in Bosnia…So MANY to choose from!!!

Happy New Year!!!! Last thought for 2007,
Never in my lifetime…a long one…has so many unqualified candidates are running for the most important job in the free world….a guy who won his senatorial seat by default, a wife who watched dishonesty, an ambulance chasing lawyer(pretty boy) (with a lot of money), ( a major city mayor with a right arm assistant who cannot pass simple scrutiny, a nice looking smooth guy who reverses major beliefs, a wantabee TV preacher and a south texas congressman who hates goverment, normal stuff, taxes, washington, etc( who wants to abandon servicemen and their life gifts for their country…AND come home tomorrow
Lord help us all….but look at history and this is not the worst…perhaps the most critical
P.S. I notice that major media has changed one guys name to “Huck”?????? was not mark twain labled a racist?
maybe a little mild “word smithing”????
The wife is reported as being the most qualified…..the internet had the Monica story three weeks before major media reported it, where was the astute wife and her staff??? in media control?? or,,, well…..she may be a diplomat after all….she’ standing by her man and she knows how to handle the media
Best I can tell ya is to read, investigate, critical examination and pray the best person wins.
Don’t be a party goat, male or female, black or white, use your mind and heart,
your family and our country depends on it.

And who exactly did hire former White House Chief of Security and well known bar bouncer, Craig Livinstone? You know I haven’t seen either Bill or Hill attending services on Sundays the way they did post Monica. It was a cynical blend of church and state anyway.

‘Ronald Reagan never took his jacket off in the oval office so as not to diminish the sanctity of it. Then again, he wasnt the type to cheat on his wife either.’ -Blake
Really? Reagan cheated on his first wife with Nancy… She was his MISTRESS. So much for your ‘Saint Ronald Reagan’ icon, huh?
Wow. Some people will lie about anything to keep up a phoney, false image of Reagan.

Bill doesn’t need to go to NSC neetings; all he needs to do is get Sandy Berger to go and stuff any pertinent documents in his pants and look at them without Hillary telling him a thing. George Stephanopolous should be ashamed of an interview wherein he provides covers for a would be president. He doesn’t understand the difference of being in power and making moral decisions. He can only comprehend the first part, a vote for Hillary is not a vote for morals; which is the basis of our country. Look at here record; it exposes a lack of moral fiber. NEXT.

You all can say what you want about Bill Clinton. He was a popular President who worked with a Republican Congress and got things done for the people. By the Gerber, I’m not ignorant I do vote my conscious and did vote for Dole because I thought he was a better man than Clinton. As for lying under oath, it is absolutely unacceptable in any circumstance. Bill Clinton was impeached however not convicted of his offense. All I need to ask of you folks is this. Prior to the war in Iraq, when was the last time the United States ever went to war with another country based on suspicion? I’d like one of you really enlightened folks to answer please!

Bill Clinton was a spineless poll-driven coward. He had multiple opportunities to kill bin Laden in the 1990′s and refused to act. What was his response to the USS Cole bombing? Nothing, he didn’t want a tough response to influence the 2000 Election!
I can’t believe Democrats can turn a blind eye to all the corruption and sleaze from the Clintons. It’s not just Hsu, it’s been many, many foreign contributors getting caught illegally giving money to Clinton campaigns and fleeing the country.
And selling missile secrets to China? Selling sleepovers in the Lincoln Bedroom? Taking the furniture from the White House?
I wouldn’t even let these people sleep a night in my house let alone the White House.
And if they have such a good record, why did Bill SEAL Hillary’s correspondence with him during his term, and why did Sandy Berger STEAL documents (stuffed them down his pants and walked out of the National Archives) about Clinton dealing with terrorists? Doesn’t sounds like they have much to be proud about.

“I think he would play the role that spouses have always played for presidents,” said Clinton, in an exclusive interview with ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos. “He will not have a formal, official role,
In other words, Hillary, you played the roll that all spouses played–you scheduled dinners, went to other countries for lunch and tours of elementary schools/etc.
Your experience as first lady was just that–first lady. You have no real “buck stops with you” responsibility experience of being an executive.
Hillary has no real experience. I can not believe that she is now claiming to have White House experience, other than the FBI files that ‘magically’ ended up in her office…or the travel office where all of her good friends ended up getting jobs…or the experience she had with Whitewater (where the governor ended up in jail and she conveniently lost most of her files)
Good riddance to Hillary.

Do you really want this man and woman back in the White House? I can not take the drama. Honestly he is so uncouthe and the endless jokes with unsuspecting interns, the Hotel White House…. no we can not put up with their nonsense. They had their chance and blew it big time.

Posted by: pp | December 30, 2007, 3:18 am 3:18 am

Terrorism wasn’t on the American radar in the 1990′s because Clinton purposely downplayed it. All the while Islamic militants attacked us in 1993 (WTC), 1996, 1998, and 2000. 9/11 was planned from 1998.
Clinton’s policy was capture Bin Laden first (not try to kill him) even AFTER he knew Bin Laden was guilty of terrorist attacks and the famous PDB that said Bin Laden determined to strike in side the US (you know, the same PDB Bush got in 2001 that you people thought was news).

Posted by: Jojo | December 30, 2007, 3:19 am 3:19 am

Hillary will be the most divisive candidate in history. Not only will she bring out MILLIONS (yes millions) of GOP voters who will vote against her (and yes, those same GOP will cast votes in local elections), but if elected her term will be marred by a country completely split in 2.
It’s not a rejection of Democrats per se, it’s a complete hatred of the Clintons.
If you want to see 4 more years of even more bitter partisanship, vote for Hillary.

Posted by: Jojo | December 30, 2007, 3:23 am 3:23 am

Concord, in regards to your comment on the 29th, you are forgetting one thing. President Bush has kept terrorists out and has kept America safe during his terms. As the President, he has full legal authority to do everything possible to keep Americans and this country safe. The Democrats on the other hand oppose him, because they are the dogs of this country. The Democrats need to be investigated…they always oppose everything the Republicans do for Americans. If a Democrat would have been in office….USA would have gone to hell ! We took the fight abroad, and decided not to fight it on American soil. We won.

Do you people remember all of the foreigners (Chinese, Pakistani, etc.) who illegally gave $$ to the Clintons and fled the country? Why does this happen only to the Clintons?
And the illegal $$ gifts from the Chinese monks, Charlie Trie (who fled the country), etc.? And then Clinton (against the wishes of his own State Dept) sells missile technology to China? What a coincidence.
Clintons are dirty, have been ever since Arkansas.
Obama may be a bit naive, and Edwards is a bit dishonest, but NOTHING compares to the sleaze from the Clintons. Edwards is dishonest but doesn’t have all of the corruption baggage that the Clintons have.
I know you Democrats don’t want to look clearly at these issues, but come on, wake up.

Reading through the comments, I find that there really are so many Hillary-haters out there. And I’m positive they’re all Republicans, the evil kind. (Of course, there are some sane ones among their lot, I give them that.) I was a Republican once, but not anymore. All I’ve seen was their dark heart. After finding out first hand that hate and greed were Republican virtues, I went independent … and for an independent, I’m going for Hillary.
As far as Hillary is concerned, she’s done nothing to earn all the venom from Republicans. I only hope they’d grow up and stop acting like little brats who need a good spanking. And last, I could almost taste it … Hillary’s going to be president, come next year, of this great country of ours, the US of A!

Bill Clinton should never have been elected. He was put there because the media lied and convinced the public the economy was in the ####### when it it had actually turned around and the Perot 3rd party candidacy diverted enough votes to make the difference too.

We do not need to continue on with families switching back and forth as president. Hillary has very high negative ratings. I can see her losing the national election. Edwards is not a good candidate. Obama most likely is the best mind the democrats have running. The Republicans candidates should be McCain, then Giuliani; Fred Thompson would make a good vice President.
We need a good defense minded President whether we like it or not we are truly at war with the terrorists. You can cannot buy them off their goal is to destroy the western way of life. Give them what ever you think they want they will take and still want to kill you as you do not believe as they do.

It all boils down to this;
Nearly half the voting population in this country are lacking intelligence, and/or common sense. They vote their feelings, which are constantly being shaped and manipulated by the media, less-than-ethical politicians, and academia, rather than making rational, logical, and intelligent decisions based on facts.
Sad these folks seem to not be aware of how they truly are being manipulated. But, having a poor sense of reality is par for less-than-intelligent people.
*I also find it very interesting how these dumbed-down citizens have created “Political Correctness” as a shield against reality. What these less-than-learned folks don’t seem to realize is, changing the names of things, and placing masks on them, only changes reality for dumb people.
Dumb people, such as those who would believe that Hillary Clinton has enough foreign policy experience to qualify her to become President, or any other outstanding qualifications for that matter. These folks also buy anything their gracious leadership tries to sell them, and have complete loathe for all that would dare to disagree with their righteous stances. But that is, in my best estimation, because these folks are simply dumb. And they lack the ability to truly be objective.

Hillary Clinton = Courtney Love
Courtney Love is a groupie who we might never have heard of, were it not for her marriage to Kurt Cobain.
Hillary Clinton is a hanger-on who we might never have heard of, were it not for her marriage to Bill Clinton.
Courtney Love sang “I wanna be the girl with the MOST cake”….
Hillary Clinton spoke early in the campaign about the “first Clinton administration” and told Katie Couric she hadn’t even thought about not winning…..touting this mythical “experience” and now belching “agent of change” the way Rudy uses 9/11.
I’ve never voted any way but Democratic, all my life, but I cannot and will not support Mrs. Clinton if by some chance she is “our” nominee.
Call it intuition, but when she speaks, I hear her LYING.

I think it’s laughable you’re all fighting back and forth over the Clinton/Bush monarchies. Until a third party emerges there won’t a change in the way things are done in this country. Why would the Rs or the Ds in Congress eliminate their considerable medical/retirement packages? Why would an R or a D in the White House push for substantial change in this country? There are very few fundamental differences between the two and they’re always willing to come together to ensure they retain their monopoly on control. Whatever it takes to make sure nothing changes in the inner workings of the way this country is run…

If she is wanting to run on her ‘experience’, she should release her records and notes from that period…something that won’t be done until AFTER the election from what i understand.
As for other experiences, I agree with a previous poster, just cause you listen in and are privy (something I don’t think she was all that much) does not mean she has experience, all it means is she listened in on and perhaps gave her opinion to her husband, the former president clinton, during times he was dealing with things.
Just because your a backseat driver, barking out what you think the driver should do, doesn’t mean once your behind the wheel, you will be any better.
Again, release those records adn let the public see for themselves the experience you have.

Nothing Hillary is saying is her own idea. It is all scripted. But US8th, remember, not all experience is good, and Bill Clintons foreign policy was a disaster. We were on good terms with more countries, but at what cost? Bill Clinton was offered Osama Bin Laden by the Indonesian government, but refused him out of fear. Bill called him “a hot potatah”. Bill Clinton then tried to kill Bin Laden by bombing the hills in Afghanistan, but failed, and to our knowledge did nothing else. It is during Bill Clintons reign that Al Quaida gained massive strength and had been planning the hijackings for an estimated 2 to 3 years before striking as George Bush had only reccently taken office when it happened. It would be nice if Bill learns from experience, but Hillary seems to be in total denial. And Bill Clinton is to much of an egomaniac to do or say anything that would admit he was wrong about anything. Adolph Hitler had experience. we need to understand what is behind that word “experience”.

I like Mrs. Bill Clinton, but only if she had long hair, wore dresses and baked cookies. She would look better with long hair and wearing dresses as she did when Bill was first running for POTUS. Mrs. Bill Clinton later showed her true left wing leanings, cut her hair short and started wearing only pants after Slick Willie was elected. If Mrs. Bill Clinton was elected, would Bill wear a dress? A blue one? Mrs. Bill Clinton talks about past spouses of POTUS. Stop, it Mrs. Clinton. The past spouses of past presidents have all been females, that means wife. If Mrs. Bill Clinton was such a great leader, she would have run on her own for some office, in the 1970′s with out Bill’s help. The only reason that she is in the senate today is because of Bill. America is ready for a female president, Ann Coulter! Ann is smart, well spoken, blonde, blue eyed and boy can she wear a short cocktail dress! I would be happy to intern for Ann any time. As for you Mrs. Bill Clinton, go find another crisis that you and the left wing media can talk about, but please stop talking about being president.

Why do people think so highly of Bill Clinton? His presidency was a reflection of what George Bush 1 set up for him, just as Bill Clinton allowed Al Quaida to build up like Vladmir said above. The way i remember it, Bill Clinton’s presidency was a do-nothing-turn a blind-eye presidency. He was too busy dating young girls in the oval office and attending parties of the hollywood stars.

Sean, relating to going to war on a suspicion: The only time the US has gone to war after being attacked was with Japan in WWII. There are lots of good reasons to attack first. If we had done so to Japan, we would have saved millions of lives. Japan was already butchering millions in Indochina before they attacked us.
Anyone here remember Regan? The media pushed all the same lies about him that it does about Bush. You know, the world hates us because of him etc…. History though, has a way of tearing away the medias’ lies. Regan is now considered in the top 10 of all US presidents. Ask to people in Eastern Europe how they feel about him. Same will happen to Bush. He will go down as one of the better presidents.
The only reason “the world” loves Clinton (if it really does) is becuase the Clinton is a nominal socialist who would tear down the USA for power. (too many examples to list) The world press is mainly socialist and would LOVE the USA to be taken down a peg.

Is amazing to watch all the candidates on TV this morning doing their rounds. The problem is that these candidates think they are “entitled” to the job of President. Barrach Hussein Obama actually said to Tim R “In MY Whitehouse” ….. when talking about allowing lobbyists in his Presidency. Shouldn’t he say his administration? Last time I checked, The White House is “The Peoples House” not Barrach Hussain Obamas.
BTW…Has anyone else get the impression that Barrach Hussein Obama might be a sleeper cell? Can we afford to take that chance? There are too many instances about him that don’t add up? What if he is a sleeper cell? Can we afford to have a terrorist in The Peoples House? In times like this, we can’t afford to take the chance!

hey decider – true Americans are going to kick all the “pluarlists” like you out of this country eventually. Took them 25 years to get here, will take that long to send them home. This is America, not Mexico, China, Iraq, Iran, Korea, Canada, France etc. There is no place in this country for hypenated Americans, you are or your not. You have spoken like the liberal/socialist that you are. I don’t hate Hillary or Bill, just tired of liberal/socialism, and don’t want a communist in the White House again, we had enough with Slick Willy and the peanut farmer.

The definition of Hate radio for a leftist is any radio show that differs in opinion from what they want to believe. Facts are hard things for liberals. They just cant stand facts.

You talk about “Hate TV and Hate Radio” but dont say what stations you are talking about. Are you talking about CNN(Clinton News Network) or NPR(No Profit Radio)? I loved the Neo-Cons statement. You left wing socialists are so angry all the time. Bill and Hillary, I mean Mrs. Bill Clinton have never served a day in harm’s way and so your comments about Bill or Mrs. Bill Clinton being able to serve as Commander in Chief are insulting to me, a 15 year veteran! You left wingers always start the name calling, but I wonder if that’s by nature or by the way of DNC talking points? You lefties never win in the arena of ideas, so you pick up your soccer balls and go home crying, “It’s not fair!” Of course you make sure that everyone who played the soccer game win or lose gets a throphy. After all, in real life everyone gets the sale, gets the job. No they don’t! the differance about you and me is that I love bieng called a right winger, but you libs hate being called what you really are, lefties and socialists. That’s not name calling by the way, it’s called the true. My GOD bless RUSH and ANN, real and true Americans.

And now they are hiding all her WH documents … along with many other “deals” they have made in the past. But this proper concealment is …responsible journalism right?

You and many others like to talk about the war. This war started in 1979 under the Carter (liberal/socialist democrat)administration. The Iranians held about 70 Americans hostage for well over a year. The “only” reason they were released was the election of Ronald Reagan. The Iranians knew Reagan was going to turn their country into a “sandbox” and bomb them back to the stoneage. The hostages were released shortly after Reagan took office. Reagan dealt with Libya/Kadafi the same way, we bombed the crap out of him, killed one of his children, you didn’t hear a squeak out of this guy for close to 20 years – wonder why. This is the only thing they understand.

The article refers to Bill Clinton as “confidante,” defined as:
1. A woman to whom secrets or private matters are disclosed.
2. A woman character in a drama or fiction, such as a trusted friend or servant, who serves as a device for revealing the inner thoughts or intentions of a main character.
Maybe the author meant “confidant”?

In our Capitalist nation, the best and the brightest, the most successful among us, choose the private sector. It’s time that those best and brightest among us step up and take this country back from the career politicians.

All the candidates pay to have the media place advertisement articles about their past performances and records, in hope to sway the American voting public.
The Clintons on the other hand pay monies to restrict & restrain any/all of their past dealings and documents from making the main stream media, in hopes to deceive the American voting public.

Mr. Socialist – not everyone pays their fair share. The bottom 5% of wage earners in this country pay $0 income taxes and get $2000 to $5000 refunds, the top 10% of wage earners pay about 95% of the income taxes – these are stats from the IRS – duh

Let’s give Mike B some credit. At least he has been in the private sector. He ran a company , had to make a payroll ect. I don’t know much more about him yet. I understand he has enough money to put a dent into the National Debt. But let’s look at the bigger picture of the likes of Hillary and Barrach Hussein Obama. Have they ever ran a business? What makes anyone thinks they can run the US? Have they ever served our country? What makes anyone think they are qualified to be commander and chief? NOTHING!~ We are looking at Jimmy Carter again! The two parties and 80% of both don’t care about the American people anymore, we let that happen. To much corruption on both sides. Time to vote for Independents/Libertarians, it make take 20 to 30 years to change the face of politics in this country but it has to happen for my daughters and grand-daughters and everyone else’s. There is a problem with dynastic presidents. Just as Bush 43 was obsessed with exacting revenge against Saddam Hussein from day one in office, and that obsession distorted his ability to see things objectively, Hillary will be obsessed with destroying Bill & Hill’s enemies from the first Clinton administration. Only difference – her enemies are mostly domestic political opponents. That is all we need. An old hag in the Whitehouse hell bent on destroying all Republicans and anyone else who qualifies as part of the “vast right-wing conspiracy”. Despite his disgusting liberalism, Obama would be preferable.

Yes, I’m sure Bill, after two terms of being in the inner circle on the most important matters of our time, will happily go outside the door and have tea with ambassadors while the “big stuff” is going on.
It’s the reason I increasingly think this type of arrangement — two-term president leaves office, then his wife becomes president — is a bad idea generally.

I understand where you are coming from. But, what are are choices? Who could pull off a third party run? I’m open too it, but I would prefer to wipe out the worst candidates first and see what is left. Maybe a third party candidate will emerge? Maybe not? Last time we had a third party candidate, with Ross Perot, all it did was put Slick WIlly in office. We are still paying for that! Most qualified 3rd party candidates, or mainstream qualified candidates don’t want to run because of the scrutany (sp?) of the press. WHo is left?

Where will she put Bill Clinton? Don’t believe any of this “goodwill ambassador” guff. If the Dems have a fillibuster proof majority in the Senate, she will appoint him to the Supreme Court. This has many advantages. It keeps him out of her way as president since he won’t have time to attend NSC meetings or any other meetings, gives her an effective voice in the Judicial branch of government, and allows him to indulge his sexual appetites without inhibition or scrutiny.

Steve,
As I said, it may take 20 to 30 years to change the landscape, if we spend every election voting for the lesser of two evils, nothing changes. There is no 3rd party candidate that is electible in 2008, Ron Paul at least is making people wake up, the guy raised $18,000,000 in 3 months, someone, many Americans are taking notice of this man, we need more like him running for federal and state positions, they may not win off the getgo, but people will take more and more notice of Independents/Libertarians being elected. Takes time or a an all out revolt to change things.

You’re never going to find one candidate you can agree with 100%, not realistic. The problem with this country from Bush all the way down to the American people is no one has any priorities about anything. Everyone has something that is a priority to “them”. Get 10 people in a room, ask them to come up with 5 priorities each, you’ll come up with 30 different ones. Now try to get them agree on the top 5. I don’t know Steve, this country is a mess, blame the politicians, the corporations and the American people.

For those curious about Hillary’s actual accomplishments, and others looking for a good laugh:
As a first term and most influential Democrat in the Senate, Hillary has managed to get 20 bills passed for all of her hard work for her adopted state. Here they are in chronological order. 1.Establish the Kate Mullany National Historic Site. 2.Support the goals and ideals of Better Hearing and Speech Month. 3.Recognize the Ellis Island Medal of Honor. 4.Name courthouse after Thurgood Marshall 5.Name courthouse after Jame L. Watson. 6.Name post office after John A. O’Shea 7.Designate August 7,03 as National Purple Heart Recognition Day 8.Support the goals and ideals of National Purple Heart Recognition Day. 9.Honor the life and legacy of Alexander Hamilton on the bicentennial of his death. 10.Congratulate the Syracuse University Orange Men’s Lacrosse Team on winning the championship. 11.Congratulate the Le Moyne College Dolphins Men’s Lacrosse Team on winning the championship. 12.Establish the 225th Anniversary of the American Revolution Commemorative Program. 13.Name post office after Sergeant Riayan A. Tejeda. 14. Honor Shirley Chisholm for her service to the nation and express condolences on her death. 15.Honor John J. Downing, Brian Fahey, and Harry Ford, firefighters who lost their lives on duty. Here are her more substantive accomplishments. 16.Extend period of unemployment assistance to victims of 9/11. 17.Pay for city projects in response to 9/11 18.Assist landmine victims in other countries 19.Assist family caregivers in accessing affordable respite care. and last but not least 20.Designate part of the National Forest System in Puerto Rico as protected in he Wildnerness Preservation System.

Los Angeles Times 12/10/07: “Since taking office in 2001, Clinton has delivered $500 million worth of earmarks that have specifically benefited 59 corporations. About 64% of those corporations provided funds to her campaigns through donations made by employees, executives, board members or lobbyists, a review by the Los Angeles Times shows.” …… Los Angeles Times 12/10/07: “Because of her perch on the Senate Armed Services Committee, Clinton has been able to earmark $1.4 billion for defense contractors in New York state since she arrived in the Senate, including $140 million this year, according to Taxpayers for Common Sense. Her record of home-state defense earmarking on that panel is second only to that of Sen. Carl Levin (D-Mich.), who is chairman of the committee and has served in the Senate since 1979. Clinton has raised more than $270,000 for her campaigns from defense companies with New York operations that have received federal money with her help.”

When Rush Limbaugh has more listeners than NPR, or Tom Clancy sells more books than Noam Chomsky, or Motor Trend gets more subscribers than Mother Jones, liberals want to convince us (or themselves, perhaps) that it’s all because of some catastrophic market failure or a grand corporate conspiracy to dumb down the masses.
“In reality, it’s just the result of consumer choice. All the opinions that the Left’s media critics favor are now readily available to us via multiple platforms. But that’s not good enough, it seems: they won’t rest until all of us are watching, reading, and listening to the content that they prefer.”

IF MRS. CLINTON WINS THE PRESIDENCY, BILL CLINTON PRESUMABLY BECOMES THE “First husband,” where he’ll have another opportunity to evaluate White House interns. He would also have another opportunity to affect policy. In a June 14 article on how Bill Clinton made $9.5 million from speeches in 2002, the Washington Post noted in passing that he got $300,000 from a group called “the Australian Council for the Promotion of Peaceful Reunification of China, which the Central News Agency in Taiwan describes as a ‘pro-Beijing organization.’” Clinton spoke to a conference in Australia in February 2002 sponsored by the council. The American Foreign Policy Council quotes sources in Taiwan as saying that the group is a “typical international United Front” operation conducted by Beijing against Taiwan, and that its conferences are subsidized by Beijing through pro-communist individuals and organizations. Chinese dissident Wei Jingsheng had urged Clinton to pull out of the conference because it was a front for the communists. He said Beijing was spending $1 million on the conference, including the fee for Clinton. A spokesman for the group denied being backed by Beijing. Our media don’t show any interest in whether the communists in China are funneling money to our ex-president through a front group. Hillary isn’t asked about it, either.

If Hillery R claims to have been part of the decision making, did that part include Bill’s lying under oath? Did it include selling all those pardons at the last moment. Did it include her advise on what to take with them when they left the white house? Is hubby Billy now advising her on how to obtain illegal campaign contributions like he did? Will she diddle the interns like Billy did and then lie under oath as he did?
Madam President Hillery R Clinton; now thats enough to make a buzzard puke!

Most Americans are completely unaware of the support that Mrs. Clinton and her husband gave to the World Federalist Association (WFA), a controversial organization which openly advocates world government. The WFA states that by adding more power, authority and functions to the United Nations, “national sovereignty would be gradually eroded until it is no longer an issue.” The Clinton Administration also signed a U.N. treaty which created an International Criminal Court (an idea originally proposed by Hillary), which could prosecute and imprison Americans for alleged war crimes. Also, at the pinnacle of the “cold war” between the U.S. and Communist Russia, the WFA collaborated with the Soviet Peace Committee, an instrument of the Soviet Communist regime.

Posted by: Jed | December 30, 2007, 3:52 pm 3:52 pm

Clinton’s presidency would erode United States sovereignty, turning major policy decisions over to the United Nations. We must protect America and Americans, by making sure this communist is not elected to the presidency. This country is now at a crossroads in its history: We can either vote for Hillary and become a faceless “global citizen,” or we can rise against this Communist and re-establish everything America stands for. You decide.

Information obtained from studies of old Soviet files in Moscow and now the famous Venona Intercepts — FBI recordings of Soviet embassy communications between 1944-48 — the record is showing that McCarthy was essentially right. He had many weaknesses, but almost every case he charged has now been proven correct. Whether it was stealing atomic secrets or influencing U.S. foreign policy, communist victories in the 1940s were fed by an incredibly vast spy and influence network

The interval of the economies, social programs and laws of the three countries it would be quietly harmonized as much as possible… And of course it would be a socialist form of government.
We need to ask the candidates if they are for or against such a plan, because its out there.

I wonder if she has room in her National Security Cabinet for Sandy Berger. I mean when you can just go steal and destroy classified documents in the middle of an investigation into how this country got savagely attacked by Islamic Radical, Documents that may have implicated theat your boss did not do everything that he could to stop 911 from happening. Well that would certainly be seen as an asset from the corrupt Clintons. Rather we have a forward thinking President that when left with the choice of trusting the word of a madman in the middle of the Islamic world, with terrorists at his beck and call, who was recently emboldened by success of other terror groups on their ability to strike at his #1 enemy the U.S. I think I take out the madman too before he can kill more Americans even if it does cost 4,000 American soldiers lives.

It’s the media & the propagandists’ machine who continue to build upon the ever-lasting self perpetuating domestic “us against them” (DEM vs. GOP) mentality while all along ignoring the Bear & the Dragon. Who by the way, are all sleeping together for world domination.

So Hillary says Bill won’t attend NSC meetings. Has she told Bill? His speeches sound like he’s expecting a 3rd term. Could he be craving a do-over? I’ll say one thing for Bush. When he leaves office he won’t be begging to go on Larry King once a month to remind us of his legacy. When you’re a Clinton, your legacy is whatever you can get the media to remember, and that’s why you have to have a microphone handy at all times.

“The NAU Plan” won’t work or should it be considered, what makes this country what it is and hopefully will remain is “pure capitalism”, socialism doesn’t work, never has, never will.

This woman is scary. If you read between the lines, they’re signaling to other countries a huge increase in foriegn aid if they get elected. It’s the same strategy they use in the US where they try to buy votes from minorities with promises of social programs or aid.

Hillary claiming that her husband is the most popular (convicted felon) person in the world is really a slap at law abiding Americans, and she would send him around the world as our/my US Ambassador! Fortunately we can still prevent unethical politicians like this from representing us by not voting for them.

For all the “conservative” God fearing Americans trying to deal with the liberal/socialist media, politicians, Hollywood dregs and anti-American activists keep presenting them with facts you can back up, facts shut them up quick. Heard this awhile ago

It’s Hillary who should be kept out of the meetings, she’s the threat.
Don’t ask, don’t tell, you could be subject to blackmail Hillary.
Surprise surprise. What’s to stop Bill from becoming HER running mate?
Consider this. They could both be hitting on the SAME woman in the oval-ry office.

For those who hate Clinton, get over it! Clinton won the election (twice)and he did what he thought was best for the county.
Make your owe judgment. Vote the way you think is best and get on with your life. And finally, for those who spend all their time reading and writing these blogs, there more important things in life than politics. Spend some time with your family and enjoy your life. Family is more important than anything else. I guarantee you that on your deathbed neither Bush nor Clinton will be holding your hand, but(hopefully)your children will. Kind of like the UN and Mexico and most of the other Socialist Countries….OK

Posted by: frank5057 | December 30, 2007, 6:25 pm 6:25 pm

In March, 2005, the President of the United States, the President of Mexico and the Prime Minister of Canada met in Texas for the creation of the “Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America (SPP). This new agreement was never submitted to the Congress for debate, discussion and/or decision. It was, rather, given to the Department of Commerce where a new division was created (under the same title) to implement working groups in the following areas: manufactured goods, movement of goods, energy, environment, e-commerce, financial services, business facilitation, food and agriculture, transportation and health. All aimed at formulating a working agenda that would result in the advancement of a North American Union (NAU).
This is not a theoretical exercise being undertaken by any of the “think tanks”. Instead, SPP is at work producing an action agreement that, as presently planned, will be implemented directly by regulations/directives without any envisioned direct Congressional input, oversight, or approval. At this point in time, no new laws are contemplated for submission to Congress. This means that the plan is aimed at creating the NAU through agency regulation/directives.

Posted by: Jed | December 30, 2007, 6:29 pm 6:29 pm

If implementation of this plan is allowed to continue, there will be no area of immigration policy, trade rules, environmental regulations, capital flows, public health, plus dozens of other key policy areas that the U.S. government will be able to decide alone, or without first consulting some appropriate NAU regulatory body.
The end result of all of this on the sovereignty of the U.S. should be obvious. The model is the European Union. While we would, supposedly, remain as a country many of our prerogatives would be superceded by a North American court and parliamentary body and the dollar would become the “Amero”.
Again, the current direction is for all of this to happen without any Congressional approval. . . just regulations and directives.

Posted by: Jed | December 30, 2007, 6:31 pm 6:31 pm

On to the next component in the equation.
The Trans Texas Corridor (TTC) is a product of one of the other components of the equation, the North America Free Trade Alliance (NAFTA). NAFTA envisioned a super corridor straight through Texas.
As presently envisioned, the TTC will be a quarter of a mile wide, straight up the center of Texas taking an estimated 580 million acres of private land (much of it prime Texas farmland) by Eminent Domain. This would displace more than one million Texans.
Car lanes will be in the center of the corridor with few opportunities to get on and off the TTC. Communities that now depend on traffic from existing highways for services such as gas and restaurants will lose that business.
The TTC is being built for only one reason—massive profits for corporations who want the highway to run goods as cheaply as possible. Once built, there will be no chance for anyone or any community in its path to obtain justice for property taken or the reduction of toll rates. Local courts will have no say in the matter. All disputes will be handled by an International court system either through NAFTA or the SPP.

Posted by: Jed | December 30, 2007, 6:33 pm 6:33 pm

In sum, the old adage, “where there’s smoke, there must be fire” has an application to this equation. When you add SPP to TTC to NAFTA, you (almost) inevitably come to the conclusion that there is a real plan pointing us toward a North American Union.
While I don’t have anything in particular against Mexico or Canada, I am a proud American and while I don’t have a lot of them, I prefer the dollar to the “Amero”.
I believe that we should do all in our power to let it be known that Americans will not support nor tolerate this undertaking.

There was also a group of politicians, CEO’s, other essentails that met up in Vancouver, BC not long ago. Don’t remember all the details but they all flew up there on “their own dime”, this was more so for the politicians, no tax dollars used, no record. This group doen not want to get the government bodies involved, no votes on anything…kind of like an end run around the people and the government, these guys aren’t stupid

This has all been under works since the 1st Bush has been in the executive power and has been ever since then … So what’s the difference in the two when it comes to maintaining these United States as we know it?
Where does your candidate stand on these issues?

Posted by: Jed | December 30, 2007, 6:40 pm 6:40 pm

Jed, try and imagine what would happen when they tried to take the land for the TTC and displace a million Texans.
HINT: You’d have about 999,000 ###### off, heavily armed Texans resisting the confiscation of their lands.
Look at the Branch Dividians down in Waco and what happened when the ATF tried to storm their compound back in the 1990′s. And those folks were CRAZY. Imagine what a rational group of armed citizens would do.

Posted by: ironchefofmunchies | December 30, 2007, 6:41 pm 6:41 pm

Speaking of Waco … On that day, the White House was a busy place that afternoon, and the president was preoccupied. Clinton was not too distracted, however, to chat with his leading contributors–James Riady, John Huang, and Mark Grobmyer–in his little study off the Oval Office. Riady later told Indonesian diplomats that, during their chat, a television in the corner showed the Waco compound burning over and over as CNN repeated its coverage. Clinton even took time to show his visitors the White House Situation Room, then on full alert. White House entry logs confirm that Riady and his companions were in the presidential offices (West Wing) of the White House that day. They apparently also dropped in on Robert Rubin, now secretary of the trreasury, who was then a White House economics official.
Imagine “our” president, in the middle of such a tragedy, would have spent their time giving major donors a White House tour?”
That’s why the want our 2nd Amendment rights revoked too!

I am disappointed that Senator Clinton would not include former President Clinton in her NSC meetings. Bill Clinton is not just a Presidential spouse, he is a former President who has experience and of course security clearence to particpate in such meetings and is invaluable to this nation. I hope she reconsiders if elected.

Bethany, Clinton had cruise missles and a team of Special Ops ready to go in and remove Bin Laden as soon as a definate location for him could be determined. Bush dismantled this entire operation within months of being elected. Besides, even Bush has said that finding Bin Laden isn’t that important (which is good for Bush seeing as he’s failed at catching him). The simple fact is things went down hill when Republicans gained control of the White House in 2000, and things have gone from bad to worse since the democrats have taken control of congress, so I don;t see any canadite that is worthy to lead this country.

While bill may still retain his clearance, that does not mean he gets instant access to classified materials. He has to have a definite “Need to Know” to be allowed access to any classified documents. And because most of the materials are classified at a level higher than TS, he would have top be specifically read into each program. Again, he has no need to know.
But, given the track record of clinton and their cronies (berger for one), I don’t think the lack of a need to know will matter to them…

I find it so funny that so many of you are blaming Al Qaeda’s build up on Bill Clinton. Does anyone remember Reagan giving aid to the Taliban and bin Laden to fight the Russions in Afghanistan? I didn’t think so…ALL presidents have similar things as this where blame could be laid on them. The problem I have is when a President makes a mistake, but refuses to say they made one and refuse to take meaningful corrective measures. And many of you act like you knew/know these President’s personally when the fact is, none of us really know them…only what they are portrayed as. It would be so nice to see some intelligent, thoughtful debating going on, instead of hateful fingerpointing. I guess that’s just a little dream I have that will never come to pass.

From Sean…<>
Do you feel that it is better not to go to war because of facts staring you in the face or go to war because of “suspected” threats that al qaeda wanted to wipe us off the globe? There were weapons in Iraq. Mig fighters were buried in the sands of Iraq. Can you or any of your non believers prove that Nukes were not, or, are not, buried in that vast desert just like those Russian Migs. The Migs were easier to find because they were buried only ten feet below the surface. Saddam had allowed al qaeda to train in Irag. Is that a suspicion in your mind? Japan attacked us and we ended that with a couple of bombs. We were attacked on 9/11 and Bush did what he had to do, protect our asses. Maybe we should have started this with a big blast. But bill clinton & jimmie carter had led al qaeda to believe that we were a paper tiger & would do nothing. Thank God for GW Bush.

I voted for Bill Clinton twice, but will not vote for his wife. Unfortunately, I can not believe that being married to someone qualifies you to be President. If I followed that logic then I would be able to vote for Laura Bush for President as well. Also, I have been quite disappointed in the kind of campaign that she has run the last couple of weeks and the subscription to the very politics of personal destruction that she decried. I can not and will not sanction that ever.

Posted by: gail | December 30, 2007, 9:55 pm 9:55 pm

To all those who believe the Clinton’s were good for the country and the world hates us, note the followoing:
1. Many of the good things this country did during the 90′s were the direct result of the Republican run Congress.
2. If you thing the rest of the world hates us then explain this: England, France and Germany in their most recent elections brougth to thier highest Government Offices PRO AMERICAN candidtes.. People who support Bush’s actions and positions! Exactly the opposite of being hated by the rest of the world.
There are many positions Bush has taken that I disagree with, especially immigration, but, the man acts with what he believes are the best things for the future of this country. There are no interns hiding in his closet or under his desk. No one is looking for the billing records or how he prospered from dealing in cattle futures.
I am sorry to say most of the Demoncrats who are running are offering old, failed policies to deal with a new and dangerous world.
Most of the Repulicans who are running are confused and far to open to also try the tried and failed.
I can only hope that our electorate can sort out the real thing from the fake and faulse.

Hilary will not get my vote. During her stay in the peoples house, she disrespected the military. Military personel were not allowed to wear uniforms around her if it was not a official function. This included guards and so on. A friend of mine worked in the white house and the standing orders were to wear civilian clothes when working around her.
My other thought is which has been brought up here is: Truely look at what her experience is. Being first lady does not qualify a person to be president.
If Bill did divulge classified info to her and she had no clearance then charges can be brought up on him. When bill won 1st election she was trying to get into meetings and had a fit when she was not allowed because she had no clearance. that is a fact.

Posted by: jay | December 30, 2007, 10:14 pm 10:14 pm

Traditional role of a spouse? Just what is that? How has the “traditional” role of a presidential spouse made Hillary Clinton qualified to be President? Might as well elect Laura Bush to be president, at least she hasn’t lost law firm records in her own house.

Posted by: WJG | December 30, 2007, 10:55 pm 10:55 pm

Debbie! Why do you call Hillary a liar? All she said was that Bill would not have an official seat at NSC meetings. Former Presidents G.H.W. Bush and Carter, like Bill, have high security clearances, because they get some classified briefings every now and then. But they do not necessarily attend NSC meetings.
Why would you accuse Hillary of lying? If Bill doesn’t go to NSC meetings of Pres. G. W. Bush, why should he be at NSC meetings of a Pres. Hillary Clinton?
At the drop of a pin, Debbie, folks like you just have to zing Hillary. Why, Debbie, why? readerK.
