Edwards Ad Promises to Restore ‘Moral Authority’

ABC News’ Raelyn Johnson Reports: Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards unveiled his latest campaign ad Wednesday in New Hampshire, entitled "Power."  Sitting in front of a snow covered backdrop Edwards promises to "restore America’s moral authority" and stand up for everyday Americans.

"What will our next president do with the enormous power that comes with the office?"  Edwards asks in the new 30 second spot airing in New Hampshire, "I will restore America’s moral authority in the world, confront people who exploit their power for personal advantage, stand up for people whose voices are ignored – just like I’ve done all my life…I know that the power that comes with the presidency comes from you."

"Power" hits airwaves just as Edwards hit the granite state for post holiday campaigning.  The former North Carolina Senator spent the morning canvassing in Nashua, New Hampshire knocking on doors and handing out donuts.

After his one-day trip to New Hampshire, Edwards will hit the road to focus on Iowa leading up to the January 3rd caucus.

My only concern would be what is meant by “Moral Authority”? it could mean everything from “we need to regain the rest of the world’s faith in us” to “this is my version of right and wrong and the rest of the world will do “right”. Hopefully not the latter of the two. Will have to watch this one a little more and see what he really means. But it does sound good though.

I do think Edwards is our best hope for a government that is not controlled by corporate interests. I do not want our country to be run by a few individuals who control the corporations; I want our country run by our government, i.e., by us American citizens.

$400 hair cut, and you will stnad up for the people whose voices are ignored? You don’t know any of those people, you don’t associate with them and you look the other way when you pass them in the street.

Louis, — for you to say that Edwards is to be blinded by the Obamarama love. LOL
Yes, Edwards paid 400$ for a haircut, so what? He earned his money, he came from having nothing to be a successfully lawyer, and had always worked for and always remember the working people.
He’s the best choice the Democratic party has to win the election and the best candidate to be our next President.
Go Edwards, you are awesome and yes, you pay as much as you want for a haircut if you can afford it. Go for it!

Edwards paid for the $400.00 hair cut with campaign contributions, that’s a known fact.
As far as Obama “blinding” voters with his love, read the article below and see how manipulated you’ve been by him.

Americans have always loved the challenge of civil rights, but not at the expense of running the country which operates whether or not civil justice exists.
Obama’s message may resonate with the people enough to generate a love for him and his words, but America can’t live on love, just as a couple or family cannot live on love – despite the fact that the young voters of America seem to think it can.
