Hil-A-Bust

ABC News’ Eloise Harper reports: It all started when the press chopper (which was hired so reporters could follow presidential hopeful Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-NY, in the air) was grounded due to weather last Friday before the tour began on Sunday.

The first night of the tour, Clinton didn’t even ride the chopper on the way back to Des Moines, but had a plane and that was grounded because of the fog. Just yesterday, Clinton almost had to cancel an event due to fog — and the pool reporters were going to have to drive an hour to get to the stop.

Luckily the fog lifted. This morning Clinton’s chopper was grounded and she had to go her first event today today in Tipton, Iowa by car. The Senator then had to miss an event in Clarion because her chopper couldn’t fly.

It was not the Clinton campaign’s fault. The weather has been terrible.

The Hil-A-Copter was Clinton’s idea as she told ABC’s Cynthia McFadden in a recent interview on Nightline. She was asked in a diner about the chopper that hasn’t really made it into the air that many times. "I was disappointed with my Hil-A-Copter, I didn’t get to fly," Clinton sighed, "oh, well we are on the road again, on the way to Burlington, in the freezing fog."
