No Huckaboom in NH
Why is the former Baptist Minister and Arkansas governor surging in Iowa but not in New Hampshire?
We took a look on GMA this morning. Watch HERE.
Also — don’t miss Brian Ross’s look at Huckabee’s role in the pardon of a convicted rapist — as highlighted in that nasty oppo piece we brought to your attention yesterday.
Watch that video HERE.

CPAC: Romney Struggles to Convince Voters
Obama Backs Off Birth Control Battle?
Don’t forget to mention that while Dumond was in jail for the first rape a couple of guys came in and castrated him and Huckabee made numerous comments about how they did this fella wrong…no matter what he says on TV he had went on television to try to convince Dumond’s innocence to Arkansans…maybe do an interview with Dumonds wife? She even went on TV to announce his innocence, now that’d be a good story!!

Hold up. Huckabee did not pardon this guy. Talk about a total distortion of the facts!
He did think he was innocent though. Some of the material presented in this report from 2003 explains why

What is the difference in thinking he was innocent and putting pressure on the parole board to release him? Maybe not a formal pardon but it is till the same to me. Some of the former members of the board have said he did this? What would they have to gain by lying? That is definitely not the distorted truth…

Funny how all of this breaks as he surges in the poll. Also seems like ABC is the only one running with it. Media bias sucks, but sadly it’s the status quo these days. Maybe someday these major media sources will realize how irrelevant they have become.

This false story on Huckabee is nothing more than ABC = tabloid.
Why don’t you do some real reporting and get your facts straight. Governor Huckabee DID NOT pardon him.

Jake, you hit the nail on the head as to why Mike Huckabee is rising in Iowa and not in New Hampshire: 37% of Iowans are Evangelical Christians and 51% of Iowans attend church every week. Yet only 15% of New Hampshire residents are Evangelical Christions and only 28% of New Hampshire residents attend church every week. That amounts to a 22.5% differential between these two critera for these two states.
If the states were really the same, then you could take half that (based on an approximate 50% turnout), 11%, from Mitt Romney and give that 11% to Mike Huckabee and the poll would be: Romney 26%, Huckabee 20%, McCain 20% Giuliani 16% and Paul 8%.

I don’t know if ABC is out on a limb or ahead of the pack, but the truth is that they can only allocate so many resources, so the lesser candidates don’t really get much coverage until they move towards the front or have some kind of newsworthy story
jake – great job at the Press Club event on C-Span the other night

ABC makes me sick!! Why not get both sides of the Dumond story first?? I think Mr. Huckabee is a down-to-earth person and really can relate to “normal ” Americans. GO MIKE GO
