Paper: ‘More Men Describe Sexual Encounters with Sen. Craig’

ABC News’ David Kerley Reports: The Idaho Statesman reports that more men are coming forward to speak on the record about alleged encounters with Idaho Republican Sen. Larry Craig. The paper writes that four gay men say they had sex with Craig or that he made a sexual advance or paid unusual attention to them.

An police report surfaced back in August that Craig was arrested as part of a sting in a Minnesota men’s room. Craig announced he would resign from Congress and then later changed his mind.

Nasty old dog; he will retire with a fat pension; that taxpayers pay for…..

What are we supposed to think and feel about a Concress that sends black men to jail for stealing food to feed their families and allowing a prevert such as Craig to live as a free man at the taxpayer expense.
In America we sell injustice to the rich and force it on the poor.

I bet he’s for don’t ask, don’t tell!

it seems that a Congressman is never quilty and poor people are presumed quilty and sent tp prison on false testimony.

Larry Craig is a pathetic worm; not because he’s gay, but because he’s a liar and a hypocrite. And he knows it. Good God, how long does he think this charade will last???

Posted by: Scott | December 2, 2007, 3:34 pm 3:34 pm

Was Mark Foley one of the men?

Posted by: kenny | December 2, 2007, 3:34 pm 3:34 pm

Wait, why do we care who he has sex with, again? Granted he’s a hypocrite for being negative on gay issues, but he should just not be elected next term for that reason. Who cares who comes forward about having had sex with him.

His problem is not that he is gay, but he built his life, his family and his job on the lie that he is not.
The man had no life. It is a tragic and sad story. Jesus would say he deserves compassion from you, the Christians and the righteous.

Joe, we care because he is a hypocrite! You can’t have it both ways! You can’t say you don’t agree with the homosexual lifestyle and behind closed doors you most certainly agree with it!!

republicans are spineless… they go along with the rhetoric of intolerance under the guise of family values, but are oh so hypocritical… personally i don’t care what consenting people do with their private parts… as long as they don’t support legislation that hinders equal rights for what OTHER consenting people do with their private parts… america needs to get over its fear of gays (which is slowly happening) so that people don’t have to hide

Posted by: earthnotflat | December 2, 2007, 4:31 pm 4:31 pm

Larry was elected by a constituency which has consistently been against gay rights, it was assumed by us when he went to washington he would do what he said he would do regardless of his own personal feelings, he represents us here in Idaho. I don’t know how so many of you who have commented on this can think his living in a closet (so to speak) and voting against gay rights is wrong when that was exactly what he promised to do to be our elected representative. If he had promised us one thing and then done another I would agree with your point of view.

I can envision a scenario where Craig never lied about not being gay and can still have sex with men as well as women. He’s bisexual. Seems like a slam-dunk there to me. Part of the problem in conceptualizing the issue is that people are so set on one or the other they fail to realize that it can be both. Craig might well not be gay. But, based on the apparent evidence, he is certainly bi.

Posted by: fatesrider | December 2, 2007, 4:54 pm 4:54 pm

So, bisexual=gay+straight
Then, gay=bisexual-straght
For me bisexual component equals zero.

Can I ask who cares? What this man does in his personal time is for nobody to judge. So what if he has sex with men, big deal! So long as he does his job well and represents the interests of the people he is supposed to serve then I see no problem with his lifestyle choices!

The fact that he’s HYPOCRITICAL w/issues that he votes on @ work, is THE SOLE REASON he should be ousted. As for the fact that he HAD these trysts (if he DID)…THAT’s between he & his wife (although I PERSONALLY feel that he’s a SC#MBAG for cheating on her, whether or NOT he’s gay)!

There are severl problems: All goverment employees are held to a higher standard and swear to it prior to accepting the position, secondly he’s wasting goverment time, money not to say how the families His are affected. Give it up! for the sake of your family, God and the american people

Posted by: Keith | December 2, 2007, 5:28 pm 5:28 pm

Try to think about it from Craigs perspective. He’s gay, he’s Republican and he’s from a state that hates anything different. He has to have an anti-gay stance. He hasn’t done anything that so many other gay and bisexual men do every day. Yeah, he’s a hypcrite, but then, most politicians are.

Posted by: Law | December 2, 2007, 5:34 pm 5:34 pm

No one cares that he has sex with men, behind his wifes back!! What people care about is the fact that he is a lieing scumbag!! He should just get out of the closet already and deal with the fact that he has lied to his family and his constituency…. If he would have just gone away people wouldn’t have cared, but “I am not gay. I have never been gay” sure sounds pretty gay to me, and I am gay!! I love Larry Craig, he gives some of my favorite comics material which to make me laugh with….

What’s with your representatives in Idaho? First Margret Chenoweth now Larry Davis. Must be a lot of cold lonely nights up there on Brokeback Mountain.

Posted by: kenny | December 2, 2007, 5:40 pm 5:40 pm

wc… nobody else cares either but Senator Larry Craig trumpeted family values and spoke out against homosexuality. The reason it matters is because of his hypocritical stance.

Posted by: Looken | December 2, 2007, 6:16 pm 6:16 pm

His hypocrisy extends well beyond his personal life. This guy is in power and makes decisions about the future of our country. He exhibits no interests in this public affair other than his own self interest. He is not interested in the good of his party, he shows little interest in the good of the people of the State of Idaho. It’s not much of a assumption that the interests of our nation, in his hands, would suffer as he takes care of himself however badly. I do not doubt that with Craig we are examining the tip of a iceberg of self serving denial.

What is that old saying; you can’t teach an old dog new tricks, or was it, this ol’ dog has been doing tricks. Gee! I forget…

“Wait, why do we care who he has sex with, again?”
We don’t it’s just by breaking the law to have toilet sex with other men is beneath the dignity of a US Senator. He should resign and crawl back into the malodorous hole from which came. Their is no end to the GOP culture of corruption, they need a fresh start and all new party leadership.

Posted by: oneman | December 2, 2007, 7:59 pm 7:59 pm

on the question of hypocrisy, i wonder what his other gay republican colleagues in the senate (there are known to be at least two–from southern states) are saying.

Posted by: lynn | December 2, 2007, 8:03 pm 8:03 pm

If he is lying about having gay sex then what else is he lying about?? This seems to be a normal trait among Republicns in Washington..lying.. Starting with the party leader and going right down the line..Bush, Cunningham,Craig,Foley,Chenoweth and all the rest..What a wonderful bunch of sleezebags the GOP has..Well soon they will all be gone..12 more months..

“roy” says he doesnt care what craig does because he was voted in to represent anti-gay agendas and craig has followed through on that… now if that’s the kind of logic that gay haters have i find this really sad… what he is saying is that “we don’t care if you are gay and having gay sex (while married) as long as you vote against gay rights”… what that amounts to is wanting gays to stay in the closet… i’m starting to believe that those people most against gays are the most repressing their own homosexual tendencies

Posted by: earthnotflat | December 2, 2007, 10:03 pm 10:03 pm

hklm – i’ve said it before and i’ll say it again… it’s called denial and diversion when every time a republican is outed for being gay or hypocritical or lying or starting wars unjustly or screwing up the country, you always divert the subject into some bash against the clintons… can you neocon apologists kindly deal with the fact that your party is full of pseudo conservatives who care nothing about economic health, fiscal responsibility, families, privacy, and limited government?

If the accounts are correct (the Idaho Statesman has verified them) Craig visited the same guy in Denver that Ted Haggard used for drugs and sex. An interesting link if only coincidental.
