‘You and I’ No More?
ABC News’ Eloise Harper Reports: Less than 30 days before the critical Iowa caucuses, there’s a shake-up in the Clinton presidential campaign. Hillary Clinton and Celine Dion appear to be parting ways.
For months, the soprano headlined Clinton’s, D-N.Y., campaign appearances as Dion’s "You and I" served as the former first lady’s campaign theme song.
"High above the mountains, far across the sea," bellowed Dion over loudspeaker after loudspeaker.
"I can hear your voice calling out to me, Brighter than the sun and darker than the night, I can see your love shining like a light," the Canadian songstress would sing as the aspiring American president took or departed the political stage.
At first, Dion and Clinton hit a all the right notes, as they’re likely to say in the inevitable VH1 Behind the Music special. Brought together in an inventive and original contest, "You and I" was unveiled as the people’s choice for Clinton’s destiny (not child’s) filled run for the White House.
The song played on, from Iowa to South Carolina, without missing a beat. But, now, only the sounds of silence can be heard from the Clinton camp’s Celine CD.
Instead on the trail these days, Big Head Todd and the Monsters are in and their "Blue Sky" is seemingly the campaign’s favorite as the New York Senator enters and exits the stage.
The Clinton camp had no response when pressed by ABC News to explain why the sudden change from chick-favorite Vegas-anchored Dion to the masculine, Colorado-native Monsters.
Fortunately, for just these circumstances, VH1 has created some consoling music selections to document this critical juncture in the 2008 race: the top 40 break-up songs ever.

Another ‘bad day’ for Hillary. First, her favorite ‘Hillraiser’, Norman Hsu was indicted. Next, Pres. Bush tell us that Iran stopped its nuclear program 4 years ago, and yet Hillary signed on to give Bush the authority to ‘get tough’ on Iran. But now, we have yet another ‘Flip-Flop’ by Hillary, as she dumps Celine and picks a new group.
Perhaps the best thing for you to do now, is to step up your attacks on Barack. I am sure that this strategy is working.

I hope this doesn’t mean we have to listen to Streisand now.

Celine Dion song for a theme? What was it, the theme to the “Titanic”? Hillary is sinking faster then anyone can believe. She does not have 1/100th the personality of her husband. No one will be able to bail her out.

Perhaps the theme song to the Mary Tyler Moore show?….
Who can turn the world on with her smile…. who can take a nothing day and…

LOL!

Payback for Bab’s endorsement. can’t stand Celine and has feigned illness just to avoid getting blasted off the stage by her better (much) vocals.

When Strisand came openly into the fold, you could count the hours before Celine would be dumped by Hillery. Loyal to the end as always.

Hillary is attacking the KINDERGARTEN comments of a rival for president??????
Are you kidding me?????????????????
She is the smartest woman in America, yet comments from Barrack in Kindergarten are fair political game????
Hillary is a buffon of the first order!!!!!!!

Hillary can’t even remain consistent on a campaign song, one day one view, the next day another( i.e driver’s licenses for illegals).

They included:

These might have had greater staying power.

Remember these famous words “I did not have sex with that woman Ms Lewinsky”. Here is the President of the United States lying to the American people. Then Hillary takes it and uses it as the poor wife that never knew he was fooling around. Then tells the American people he has an addiction to sex. Give me a break.

Clearly Elton John’s classic “The $itch is Back” is the obvious favorite. What does it tell you about a presidential candidate (of either party) who is viewed so negatively by so many?
Posted by: Douglas Love | December 4, 2007, 8:36 pm 8:36 pm
Why not change her theme song? She has changed her theme on mud-slinging. Just weeks ago she was saying that her concern was only for the American people and not mud-slinging against her democratic rivals. Now with the change in polls she has forgotten the American people, but obviously not their vote. Just further proof that the only one thing Hillary is for, is Hillary. She has flip-flopped on everything and now even her campaign theme song.

We haven’t even had the first primary and I am so sick of listening to the Clinton spin and scandals – not to mention their attempted character assassinations of anyone who disagrees with them.
We have so many serious problems in the world and all we have is the Clintons worrying about themselves – and Barack Obama’s kindergarten days.
We have so many good people to elect to public office for the Presidency on down without resorting to the Clintons. Let’s exercise our rights as Americans and leave the Clintons in the past where they belong.

When she loses it will be interesting to see how long the Clinton’s remain in New York or together for that matter. I detest how the mainstream media gives her a pass on so many things, especially her marriage to a habitual cheater. Bill’s just hanging on for another shot at the white house while making it look like they actually have a marriage. Hillary couldn’t run at all if she had divorced Bill when they left office. It’s more of an arrangement than a marriage. Clinton = Deception.

Come to think of it, There’s quite a few in Congress and the Senate that could use that theme too. Oh, MERRY CHRISTMAS ACLU!!! Why the hell are you even talking about a stupid song.
Nearly EVERY president has had women brought into the White House. People are attracted to power. And what does all this have to do with HRC ability to serve as president. God knows, she couldn’t do worse than Bush.
Also, one more question, when a man runs for office and he is tough, haggard, sexist it is fine. He is just aa tough, driven politician. He can look, dress and say anything. A woman, on the other hand if she changes lipstick, it is a major news artical. If she is tough, she is a B iotch.
I say, give a woman a chance. How much worse can she do than Bush. I would vote for my dog before I’d vote for him again. That was my Thanksgiving statement around the table, I was thankful the dubya couldn’t run again. The reps act like you are not a patriot unless you agree with them. I am a serious patriot, I want the best for this country. The USA has lost world respect with bushy in office. I’d rather have a guy getting a BJ in office than a pres that would start a war under false pretenses. I was all for the USA going after the people responsible for the WTC bombing. But somewhere, without our knowledge wediverted to Iraq. I know Saddam was a SOB. But we turned a blind eye as long as we were gettin oil, the whole time he was bombing his own people with chemical weapons (the Kurds) I’m not sure who I’ll vote for at this point in the Dems. But I know I am not impressed by ANY of the REPubs.

The Clintons and those associated with them never cease to amuse me. Bill & Hill are both among the most venal, self-serving political creatures in American history…and the people who hover about them are among the silliest beings on the planet…Oh, and reporters & network/print news editors who dote on the Clintons’ every move & utterance demonstrate their addiction to Kool-Aid with every adoring article they write and with every ‘news’ package their networks broadcast.
Nice work, ABC — you again demonstrate your expert ability to make the trivial into ‘news.’ A campaign theme song for Hillary is worth wasting so many otherwise perfectly good electrons? I think not.

“People, please look at the political record and platform. My life was much better under the Clinton administration.”
Cathy, you are confusing coincidence with causation. The Go-Go 90s were powered by the expansion of the Internet, not by anything Bill Clinton did. It will be a long, long time before venture capitalists throw millions of dollars at feckless twenty-something nimrods again.
If your life was better under the Clinton administration, I’d say you’ve made some bad decisions since then. How about accepting a little personal responsibility?
“The USA has lost world respect with bushy in office.”
Showing such open disrespect and hatred for the President makes you part of the problem, Cathy. Of all Bill Clinton’s many sins, the worst thing he did in my opinion was diminish respect for the Office of the POTUS.
“World respect” is overrated. I’m not going to support ANY politician whose first inclination is to grovel at the feet of the United Nations, thank you very little.

Perhaps since Hill has dumped the song maybe she will replace it with that memorable “candid” picture of she and Bill dancing on the beach, no music, clad in bathing suits, looking lovingly into each others eyes. Better yet her riding the camel on the vacation she and Chelsea took in the desert. They brought in AC , running water. movies, chefs and the millions of dollars this vacation costs were written off to the Defense Dept.

If you need a position on anything from Hillary ask a week ahead of time. First she must conduct polls, analyze them, and then she will give you a position on the question at hand.
Unless of course you need a comment on what a kindergartner may or may not have said at age 5 – then she will tell you all about her opponent’s comment at that tender age.
She is coniving, untruthfull, and full of you know what.
Say anything, do anything to get elected. Deny, Deny, Deny.

Who cares about the song? Who cares about her endorsements? Babs, Celine, Oprah? It doesn’t matter. What matters is that she will not be best for America. She is a leftist when it comes to immigration, defense of the homeland, taxes, the economy. Why would the democrats have let her (or any of their top 3 contenders) get this far? Seeeeesh!!
Posted by: Azul | December 5, 2007, 9:48 am 9:48 am
Classic Clinton — every position, even a theme song, decided on polls and marketing decisions. You just know somebody told her Celine was too feminine and she needs to change it to appeal to a broader democraphic.
Personally, I want a president that leads by conviction and tells us what we need to hear, not what the polls suggest we want to hear.

Dear Bob,
As far as I know, we still reserve the right for freedom of speech. I detest President Bush, Vise Pres. Cheney. The USA has gone to pot since they took office. We still have less than a year until someone takes office. WW111 could happen during that time.
We ruined and entire generation of men during the Viet Nam war with PTSD, they just could not process as a civilian, killing was against the law, they go to war and killing was their job. So now we are doing the same thing to this generation. The number on promise to the soidiers was that we would take care of them if they were injured. There is so much red tape, it is difficult to get it and then it is substandard.
I have been an RN for over 30years. Prochoice just gives these women and professional and clean place to get the procedure done. Abortion will still go on without Roe vs Wade. But it will be a back alley butcher or a coathanger. I have seen it too many times. Some of these girls were bleeding so badly we had to do a hysterectomy. They will NEVER be able to have a baby even when the time is right. I don’t condone abortion personally, but I believe a woman should be in charge of her body, not government.
World respect is not overrated, I have lived overseas. It is important! We used to be the land of milk and honey and now we are the land of homeless and hungry. There is so much money in this country, no one should be homeless or hungry. Many of the homeless are Viet Nam vets.
I believe that legal aliens should be able to enlist in the military and if they do, they will be on a fast track to citizenship. If they had a legal green card, let them enlist.
One thing about illegal aliens: If you could make $1.00/per day or $60 to $80.00 per day, would you do it?
I have gone to other countries to double or triple my income. I understand.
So Dave before you get so high and mighty, walk in anothers shoes.

Who would be nutty enough to vote for Obama the little 10 year old with experience in foreign policy? He should have enrolled in college and took over the teacher’s job. I wasn’t aware he was that brilliant. Your telling me he’s more intelligent than his rivals? Are you kidding? He doesn’t know what the word change means because he doesn’t have the ability to change anything. He may have all of you fooled and the rest of the public but he doesn’t fool me with his cunningness. If he doesn’t win the nomination then what would you say to that? He is a desperate man and wants the presidency badly because he is black and no other reason. Oprah is campaigning for him because of course she is black. When did she ever campaign for a candidate that was white. Whose kidding who. Her audience is mainly white and the white people made her rich. Its going to Giuliani and Hillary so cry in your beer like Obama did in college, only don’t drink as much as he did and get drunk.

This country will do well with Hilary and Hilary will do well for this country. I cannot believe the people who get their marching orders from “HATE” TV and “HATE” radio, it seems that most of them have loss the ability to think for themselves, as you can see that their comments they mirror the comments on hate TV and hate radio – check the newspaper comment sections. If they were really concern about where Hilary would take this country they would really be expressing their utter discuss about where the Bush administration has already taken us – which is down – way way down ! surplus long gone, thousands of lives loss for a completely unnecessary war, 1 trillion and counting taken from our national treasury – that our children will need to pay for, 50 billion paid to insurgents to stop attacking our troops – al least for now or until we stop paying them again, 12 billion in 100 dollar bills they claim is just missing – the list of unbelievable stuff just goes on and on and with no lessons learned from the past when we gave weapons and billions to the Taliban when they were fighting the Russian and the Afgan president was on the side of the Russians ( go figure) not to mention all the weapons and billions more dollars we gave Sodom Hussein during the Iraq – Iran wars, those plane load of weapons Ollie gave to the Iranians – why and what for ? was any of those weapons sent to the insurgents in Iraq ?. Now days our economy is in shambles, we are on the verge of a recession, this administration has been wrong about so many things that our respect around the world has been soiled, as Scott McCulin said he lad to lend the administration some credibility, Tony Snow was kind with his “somewhat of an embarrassment” remark – so Do your homework folks – then decide – because one more Bush like neo-con like administration could well do us in! Our founding fathers prevail over the most powerful military on earth because bullets will never be a substitute for the will of the people!

All the Hillary haters are mad at themselves for not progessing in life like she did and jealousy is eating them up inside. She made a goal for herself and she accomplished it. What goal did you accomplish? Why aren’t any one of you running for the senate or the presidency. The way everyone is talking about Hillary then you must have better credentials. So put them to work for you and start campaigning.

Not true Glenn. We Republicans always maintained Hillary was grossly unqualitfied, and frankly untrustworthy. But as long as Hillary’s opponents were Republicans, all the Democrats pretended Hillary could do no wrong. Now that Hillary’s opponents are other Democrats, *suddenly* Democrats across the country discovered the fraus she is. But even if Mrs. Clinton doesn’t get the nomination, the Democrat nominee will have to answer specific questions, not the fluff we’re getting out of Obama and Edwards. This will be good. Looking forward to it.

The Clinton Machine will systematically destroy this country. Despite the lack of coverage by the Main Stream Media (MSM), we ARE winning in Iraq and the world will be a better place for it. I can understand why the left wing hates Bush. They can’t stand a moral person who stands by his convictions. Hillary would be perfect for those people, but not the majority of us.

“All the Hillary haters are mad at themselves for not progessing in life like she did and jealousy is eating them up inside.”
What exactly has she accomplished other than marrying Bill Clinton? Using his fame to get a carpet-bagger’s role as a New York Senator is hardly an accomplishment. Before Bill was President she insisted on using her maiden name, Hillary Rodham. After Bill won she was Hillary Rodham Clinton. Now she only goes by Hillary Clinton. She has accomplished exactly nothing during her one elected office, NY Senator. Other than being a woman and having a famous last name she has pretty much nothing on her list of accomplishments. Running as the candidate of “experience” is just weird. Being the wife of a President is hardly experience.
For many citizens their entire adult life has been a revolving door of Bush and Clinton family presidencies. It is time to break that vicious cycle.

This shows just how poll driven Hilary is. If elected, she will reverse policies weekly, with the waning wind. She seems to have absolutely no convictions about anything, and is just a ho for votes. At the same time I sense a personality without the slightest tinge of normal human reactions. If she saw kids crying while watching Lassie tied to the train tracks on TV, she would wonder what the problem was, then, realizing she was doing something which might lose votes, would say something about animal rights.
She might be a low grade sociopath. I am a Democrat, but if she is nominated, tthere will be no straight ticket.

I am soooooo tired of celebs’ using their fame to push political agendas. BHT really sang songs from the heart about life and love. I dont want to think about them and politics. This is a dark day….. I knew that BHT were Colorado liberals and that was ok. I love their music. But they were discreet about their beliefs. Now that they are choosing sides publicly, I have to publicly say I feel they are choosing the wrong person. I will from this point associate their music with Hillary Clinton. That does not entertain me or relax me. It scares me and makes me feel a little worried.

Someone on here listed how we listen to HATE radio and Hate TV. Seeing how you can turn on and off a radio/TV station, one doesn’t need to listen to Hate Radio or TV. However I listen to get the truth on HC. Radio shows like Hannity or Rush, Glen Beck or Drudge, Neil Bortz. Funny is it not, to hear the words from HC mouth being played on these shows. How she says one thing at 5 and another at 6. Perhaps her song should be Gordan Lightfoots “If You Could Read My Mind..”
If you could read my mind, what a tail my thought would tell… Gee HC that song would be better. Seeing how you change from minute to minute. Do we need a person in the WH that takes -how many weeks on the illegal having drivers lic, to make up her mind and since she has changed even the last version..
We need to seek out one that will not be putting a finger in to the wind to see what statement of the day she say’s.
Bill should not be riding to her defence at every turn. That shows how weak she is. When Bill speaks it sinks HC lower in the minds of those who would have voted for her. The Pres of the US should not need to have her husband come to her protection every day. IMHO He will do everything he can to derail her chance at the WH. I don’t think he wants in as Pres, His ego will not allow her to win, he wants to be the only Clinton to be Pres.

And now Hillary is trying to distance herself from her own kind?
What’s up with that?
i just don’t get it.
Hillary? Knock knock???

The mainstream media will soon have to cover the Clinton’s for their true colors, they can’t run forever. This blog is nuts, I had no idea that people were actually paying this much attention! The Clinton Monarchy is solely responsible for the widespread polling of anything and everything in this polarizing new world of politics.
BTW~polling to make a decision in politics is not a sign of true leadership, just my opinion.

God save us from caring what Celine has to do with the elections and from what Hillary has to do with anything. It seems to me Celine should be singing the theme song from Titanic by the way Hill’s polls are sinking.

Hillary’s biggest problem is that she has trouble thinking. I always try to joke about Bush being dumb (and keep trying) but now it just doesn’t amount to anything I can say about Hillary. She is just not very intelligent. The reason why she keeps getting in so much trouble is that she is just not that… bright.

How about “The Night The lights Went Out in Georgia” but in this case “The Night the Lights went Out in Iowa” for Hillary, like Janaury 3rd. The line in the song “The night they shot an inncocent man”, definitely applies to Vince Foster

Where do the “neutral” pollsters go to get their questions answered? If this blog is any cross-section indication of where popular sentiment lies, the talking heads in the national media need to get some different sources. Maybe they should quantify the responses listed here and acknowledge the overwhelmingly negative opinion the majority of voters have of HRC.

Did anyone notice the phrase, “…the aspiring American president…?” Hillary is not the aspiring American president; she is a candidate aspiring to be the American president! These kind of subliminal nudges are why there is so much distrust of the media these days. Do we think it was just a mistype, after how many people review an article? Nope…

Hillary’s new song should be from the same band as Bill’s in Clinton 92. His was “Don’t Stop” from Fleetwood Mac.
Hers should be “Little Lies” from the same group.

I just saw Dr. Zhivago… The revolutionary commies that would sacrifice all personal connections including their spouse for political “progress” came across strikingly similar to the Rodham-Clinton campaign.. Very eerie. Perhaps she should adopt the Dr. Zhivago theme, or maybe Don Corleone’s from “The Godfather”… My guess is that she will have different themes for different audiences… just like her positions on major policy topics!

I applaud Hillary’s move to use BHTM’s “Blue Sky”. Who wouldn’t, regarless of political affliation? The song’s lyrics like “yes, you can…change the world” project an optimism and hope for the future which is sorely lacking in today’s climate. Too bad so many missed the focus of the above report.

I am amazed at the nasty comments on this blog, indicative of most blogs today. Seems many of us have lost respect for each other under the blanket of anonymity on the internet. Blue Sky is a beautiful song by Big Head Todd and the Monsters and was written and performed as a tribute to the return to space mission of 2005, lead by Commander Eileen Collins. I’m sure the last thing this band wants to do is divide people. Give the song (and the band) a listen no matter what your political affiliation is!

The names of deceased friends, associates, body guards, and the two young boys listed a few entries back come from the investigation done on the drug trafficing in Mena, Arkansas, which was directly connected to the Rose Law Firm and to the governor of Ark, Bill Clinton. The title of the book is…”The Clinton Chronicles” published in 1994. The video is also on the internet. Please, everyone, take a look at it.

How shallow has the media become. Who the hell cares who sings what song for whom? No one in the real world. That’s who. Give us issues, not tripe.
