In the last few hours, Obama’s campaign has announced endorsements from Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., Sen. Tim Johnson, D-SD, and powerhouse Rep. George Miller, D-Calif.
This follows, last week, the backing of former Sen. Bill Bradley, D-NJ. (Which had the same benefit for Obama as it did for Howard Dean.)
It’s raining men, hallelujah!
Some of us disagree about this, but I generall feel that the Kerry endorsement will not have much impact. Obama right now doesn’t need institutional credibility, and he doesn’t need yet the backing of yet another middle-aged white guy — he has Edwards for that.
He needs women, he needs blacks, he needs working class voters. I don’t see them necessarily being inspired en masse by Kerry.
