Bill Clinton Scolds Media … Again

ABC News’ Sarah Amos Reports: While campaigning for his wife in South Carolina, Bill Clinton scolded a reporter Wednesday.

The former president was answering questions about the back-and-forth between himself and his wife’s chief Democratic rival, Senator Barack Obama.

A CNN crawl said Clinton was "responding to allegations he’s playing the race card in S.C."

"Are you saying the Obama camp is bringing up these racial issues?," asked CNN reporter Jessica Yellin.

"You want another story. I’m not gonna get in a fight with him, I’m just gonna answer what the facts are. … There are indisputable facts. You wanna make this about words and name calling. I hate it," Clinton said after a campaign event at Huger’s Restaurant in Charleston.

For many reporters, it was hard to hear exactly what set the former president off, but it quickly became clear he wasn’t happy. According to one reporter’s transcript, the back-and-forth began like this:

"Dick Harpootlian has called some of the tactics used in the campaign reprehensible and reminiscent of Lee Atwater to try to appeal on the basis of race and gender and for suppressing the vote in Nevada," a reporter asked.

"I would ask Dick Harpootlian — he wasn’t in Nevada," Clinton said, arguing he spoke to Hispanic women in Nevada who wanted to caucus for Hillary Clinton who were told by union officials they couldn’t sign up for her.

Then Clinton appeared angry with the reporter for asking the question.

"You asked me about this. You sat through this whole meeting. Not one, single solitary soul asked me about this. And they never do," he said.

"They’re feeding you this because they know this is what you want. This is what you live for. This hurts the people of South Carolina, because the people of South Carolina … ask questions about what they care about," he said. "And what they care about is not gonna be in the news coverage tonight, because you don’t care about it. What you care about is this. And the Obama people know that. So they just spin you up on this, and you happily go along. The people don’t care about this. They never ask about it. And you are determined to take this election away from them. That’s not right. That is not right. This election oughta belong to those people who are out there asking questions about their lives."

As he left the restaurant surrounded by secret service, Clinton seemed to cool down. He smiled as he left and said to the reporter, "One more story. Shame on you. Shame on you!" Clinton said.

It’s not the first time Clinton’s temper has flared on the campaign trail. Last week Clinton ripped into a television reporter who had asked him about a Nevada lawsuit concerning participation in the state’s caucuses.

"When you ask me that question, your position is that you think that the culinary workers’ vote should be easier," than those of other Nevada workers, Clinton said to reporter Mark Matthews of KGO-TV in San Francisco. “If you want to take that position, get on the television and take it. Don’t be accusatory with me."

Bill Clinton at an event at an eating place called “Huger’s?” Imagine the irony. Next it’ll be Mrs. Clinton giving a televised appearance on “To Tell The Truth.”

I’m gonna gag typing this but it seems like Bill had a point – why’d the reporterette bring it up? She was baiting him into an outburst. It is fun to watch his purple hissy fits.
More importantly, though, the Clintons are managing this perfectly. Most people can’t stand them but they are oh so great at achieving victim status.
Obama needs get back up above the fray. He should shake his head ruefully and say “There they go again” and then get back to his own message.

If Bill Clinton “scolded” the media … then they definitely deserved scolding. I have never seen the media be so biased and use so many “opinions” as news as I have in this election. ABC is the worst .. and CNN is right behind them. Thank God for real news services like NBC and CBS.

Ok, now Obama is supposedly planting reporters against the Clintons? Also now instead of a single conversation he allegedly overheard at a casino regarding someone voting for hillary being told they would not be able to, he now spoke to someone who told him that union officials prevented them from voting, did you report this bill? I don’t recall hearing about it at the time? What happened to no comment when you didn’t want to answer a question? Bill brought the Obama comment into play, the reporter did not mention that candidates name at all. Don’t think for a moment that the two of them are not calculated and coordinated. Hills will beat on him about the Rezko non-issue and Nill will play race.

While Mr. Clinton is certainly not one without fault, I do agree with him regarding media coverage of the campaign and its obvious tilt, at least to date, in favor of Senator Obama. ABC’s recent story commencing with the “word,” “Duh,” is evident of bias, this time downplaying as “old news,” the countless lies and distortions inflicted upon the American people by the Bush Administration in “selling” the Iraq invasion. Often times, in fact too often, we have to sift through one celebrity story after another to find news that is worthy of reading, whether biased or not. In my judgment, the media has long championed the candidacies of Senators McCain and Obama as its “darlings,” almost without scrutiny, while concentrating on whatever “news” may dampen the aspirations of the other candidates, Senator Clinton in particular.

I find it odd that for all of these claims of voter intimidation, 4 thus far from the Clinton’s that not ONE single complaint has been filed.
If it was true, then why not file a formal complaint in a court of law or some law governing agency? We know the Obama camp has filed a formal complaint. So, what about this camp? This is NOTHING BUT TOTAL LIES regarding the -yet again- mentioned voter fraud charges. And yes, they are playing the race card b/c if they weren’t why get upset? Dummy told on himself.

Bill is absolutely wrong. People do care about how he is behaving. His rabid pursuit to get back into the White House is so blatant it seems he will say almost anything.

Mongo100. Oh Man. You sound sane.

Posted by: irma | January 23, 2008, 6:12 pm 6:12 pm

The press try to spin this up so they can portrait Obama as the victim. They are trying to demonize Bill Clinton; but they will fail!

Posted by: pete | January 23, 2008, 6:13 pm 6:13 pm

This is what Bill does every time he gets caught engaging in disreputable conduct. He attacks.
You can only play that game so long Bill.
You were the one who charged that the union was strong arming members when it is clear from the Clinton campaign handbook that it was the Clinton campaign that was trying to suppress votes. Two examples 1) tell everyone to show up early and then tell the caucus chair to close the doors a half-hour early and 2) tell your organizers that you can do anything unless someeone specifically tells you it is illegal.
This is what Clinton does. He falsely attacks the other side of doing the exact thing he himself is doing. He then hopes it all becomes a muddle and that the press will be too afraid to sort it out. And, if the press, does start reporting the truth, he yells media bias.

Posted by: JT | January 23, 2008, 6:18 pm 6:18 pm

The Clinton’s have lost all respect they once had in our house. This is no way for a former president to act. He’ll do anything to get a 3rd term. And Hillary? Sending her husband to yell at the neighbors serves her feminity not well, and makes him look like a total buffoon. Shame on the Clinton’s. DEM verson of Ronald Reagan’s 11th Commandement “Thou shalt not speak ill of another Democrat”.
Enough Clintons already!!!!!!

Bill is right, the Media needs to talk about the issues not the tabliod crap.

Posted by: russ | January 23, 2008, 6:26 pm 6:26 pm

Has anybody worked for a service industry? Like when you are at the bottom? You don’t want to go against the people you are working with. It causes tension. These women took a stand against their “Union chosen candidate.” That has cost pressure enough….Now you want them to file a complaint? Why? So that the media could be all over them, which will intice more public pressure for their decision? I think this is one we just need to let go.

Posted by: irma | January 23, 2008, 6:26 pm 6:26 pm

I have a hard time stomaching all of the misinformation the Clintons are coming up with. I was a big fan of the Hillary, but now I am simply becoming nauseated by them.

Posted by: irma | January 23, 2008, 6:27 pm 6:27 pm

One thing I have learned about the Clinton’s after 16 years is that when they are accusing you of something it is something they have done. The madder they get the closer to the truth about them you have gotten.

Posted by: Janet | January 23, 2008, 6:28 pm 6:28 pm

Clinton is beginning to look and sound like Nixon in his battles with the media.
He’s a great campaigner because there is one thing he hates in life more than anything: losing. Unfortunately for him, he’s so emotionally involved in recapturing the WH for his wife that he can’t control himself. It’s not hurting Hillary now very much because he’s campaigning exclusively among Democrats, but in the general election, it will defeat her.

As if we didn’t hear enough about Bill Clinton’s immature antics in the ’90s. Sure, his administration avoided the disasters of the Bush years, but I for one don’t want a third Clinton term. Obama has my vote.

I agree with Bill Clinton on his charges against Obama. The national media is hiding many facts about Obama that is main headlines in Chicago. First, Obama is linked to some high profile issues, but those of you out of this area have not heard about it yet, because the national media protects him. Secondly, Obama said he worked for 15 years as a civil lawyer, but actually, he worked only a few. In addition, part of that was for his wife, his boss. He does not seem to have a steady work history. He was president of the Harvard student board, but he was almost 30 years old. Many of the law students start at 21 or 22, so that is not a big deal. Then, he brags about his community work, a voter’s registration drive. Oh, come on, I run that on a volunteer basis. Was he paid for this and by whom? It was linked to the REZSKO slumlord. He is the one who launched Obama’s political career, and now the roosters come back to crow. Therefore, the national media needs to come clean on Obama. Bill and Hillary are quite accurate in their charges; they are not making things up!

William Jefferson Clinton didn’t disgrace the Office of the Presidency, the REPUBLICANS DID. They were relentless in their pursuit of catching him in a “tawdry” situation because it was all they had, and then they cornered him into perjury by having him answer to PURITAN, witch-hunting tactics. The fact is the Clintons make choices that benefit the majority of the people. They use their strength to do more good, that’s good. Doing more for the people takes tax dollars; and that my friend, is why the Republicans hate the Clintons…….I hope you have read Hillary’s story about her mom. Her mom experienced poor parenting when she was a child. Hillary was given a good upbringing. She ends up falling for a man who had a difficult childhood. She sticks with him and it is obvious he loves her and visa versa. So you know what Clinton haters? Keep your filthy, mean, self -righteous, hateful attitude to your self about the Clinton Marriage. Yeah, you all showed how much you value family, unless it’s the Clintons right? You all have every right to destroy that family with your gutter investigations. They somehow deserve less dignity for staying together under humiliating, invasive maneuvering by the ruthless right wing. Talk about personal attacks. My, My…..HYPOCRITES!

Posted by: irma | January 23, 2008, 6:35 pm 6:35 pm

Mr Obama has a bad memory about his stance on the single payer plan he advocated before a union group. He said in the debate he never supported that. Bad memory or lying? And let’s hear what he has to say about the wife, of the lawyer under indictment, who purchased property next to his mansion in Illinois and then sold part of it to him. Hmm? I wonder what Mr. “clean” will say now?

Posted by: me | January 23, 2008, 6:35 pm 6:35 pm

For years, folks have voted against candidates instead of for candidates. With this slate of losers who are running, there’s not even anyone to vote against IN EITHER PARTY! The Clintons are trash and are going to great lenghts to prove it.

Posted by: ac | January 23, 2008, 6:36 pm 6:36 pm

I find it difficult to believe the Clinton’s on much at all. After all, here’s a president that thinks it’s OK to answer a question, “Boxers or Briefs?”, but legitimate questions are out of bounds. And who can blame him, with quotes like ” I did not have sexual relations with that woman…” and “it depends on what the definition of is is…[paraphrased]“, etc.

NO ONE has raised more money from convicted felons than the Clintons. Most recently, Hzu, who’s $850,000 had to be returned and who is sitting in a federal pen.
The Clintons used to get respect around our house. No more!
Bill and Hillary need to take their multimillions and quietly ride off into the sunset.

Bill Clinton rabid? Whitewater? What became of that ridiculous fiasco? People still try to make much more of what is actually there. It is their entrenched bias in full gear, fueled by selective reporting. I am more disgusted with how cheaply the media is spinning these events and how it is such an insult to the intelligence of the general public that they continue. Too much of the media thinks the only way we can digest our political debate is to present it in a Jerry Springer format. Judging by many of these responses, they may be right. Our political candidates should be held accountable for their ideas and policies of running this country. Not these stupid, low rent, soap opera reports.

I agree with Bill although I never voted for him and never will vote for Hillary. The main stream media is doing a dis-service to the American people with the way they are covering this election. From planted questions to biased debates to outright lies and smear jobs against public servants the corporate media should be ashamed of the way they are handling their portion of the public trust. Just as newspapers have seen their demise through the internet so will this alphabet soup of news corporations feel the effects of real news as reported by free internet bloggers

Bill Clinton was a 46-year old punk as president who gave trailer trash a bad name as he assaulted women around the country. He is now a 60-year old punk campaigning for the most disgraced and humiliated woman in American history. The entire country must be embarrassed for Chelsea Clinton.

Posted by: MSM | January 23, 2008, 6:50 pm 6:50 pm

The press is out after the Clinton’s. The press are only doing what they are told by there publishers and owners. The press have been on the Clinton’s for years. Everytime Chelsea turned around the press was there. they hounded that girl to the extreme. Bill had an “affair”. the only people that Bill had to answer to were his wife and his God. It is and was no one else’s business. How many men reading this have had sex with more than their spouses? I don’t care if you have but George Bush may or may not have had affair’s with someone other than his wife, I don’t care either, What I do care about is that George Bush lied about WMD’s and almost 4,000 men & women have died, thousands have been maimed or will suffer mental problems the rest of their lives.
We live in Illinois, re-read come of the above comments about OBAMA and the Chicago slum-lord. Obama was out signing people up to vote, many volunteers do that, he is a sham…we hope many people vote against him in the election…he’s seems to be all talk, he talks about Washington but he is one of the people who hasn’t done anything but write the Dream Act, which will give children of illegls tuition to attend college (these people really should be called “adults”, when you are old enough to go to college). Like Oboma, we will be “Present” when it comes time to vote but we will not be voting for him.
We are not happy with Bill Clinton because of the NAFTA bill being signed while he was President. This was the start of company’s moving out of the U.S. to China,India, etc…Americans need to STOP buying junk from China. You need to buy American cars.

If any of you saw the tape of Bill Clinton’s comments with the media, there is no basis for saying he appeared angry. He answered the reporter in his legendary soft voice. And he was right. Folks, let’s get real. What the Obama campaign claims are dirty tricks is that Clinton on the record commented on Obama’s statements to a Nevada editorial board essentially telling them that he modeled himself after Reagan and that Republicans were “the party” of ideas during the past 10 to 15 years.
And an Obama staffer compares this to the dirty tricks of Lee Atwater? Are you kidding?

Posted by: cdh | January 23, 2008, 6:57 pm 6:57 pm

Bill Clinton is completely right. The media, who only lately discovered that the Bush administration lied to us 935 times about Iraq, is treating this critically important election as a tabloid jaunt. I am sickened by the allegations of racism, lying, etc. etc.
I encourage the Obama campaign to debate issues, and particularly to focus on the Republicans, against whom he should be running.

Posted by: Lizzy | January 23, 2008, 6:58 pm 6:58 pm

The reporter asked the question whether Bill Clinton was saying that it was Obama who came up with the race issue? And Bill gets all steamed. Well, if everyone back tracks to when this all started, it was Bill who came up with the race and gender issue. Benjamin Franklin said:”The first mistake in public business is the going into it.” Maybe if Bill never started this business in public, the question would never had been asked.

Posted by: Angel | January 23, 2008, 6:59 pm 6:59 pm

Bill and Hillary, are practicing Hit-and-Run campaign tricks. They are throwing mud so fast Obama can’t keep up with the accusations. They’ve been putting him on the defensive and not allowing him to get his positive message across. Very sneaky, but effective.

Posted by: sara | January 23, 2008, 6:59 pm 6:59 pm

I had great admiration for Hillary. But, watching all the childish dirty tricks of her husband is now a total turn off for me. I think Obama has character than Hillary does. But the sad story is that I do not see the democrats winning the white house with the way they are behaving. It is rather sad to see people seeking the presidency bickering and ranting at each other like juveniles. Who care for all that nonsense?

Posted by: wmd5 | January 23, 2008, 7:00 pm 7:00 pm

Let’s all take a break from the anything but “discussing the issues” forum here and give it up for Chelsea Clinton.
You’ve got to give that young woman a lot of credit to have gone through her younger years during her father’s administration and now being a young woman involved in her mother’s campaign.
What an education she’s had! She’ll be able to write books and books – but won’t. She might be the only one showing some class right now. I like how she handles herself.

Lest anyone forget, it’s as simple as this:
Bill Clinton is a liar.
Bill Clinton is a liar.
Anybody miss that? Oh, I suppose it depends on what the definition of “is” is, but I think most reasonable people would agree that the “victim card” is not a card this aging lothario should be playing.
Character matters. I am a hard core Liberal Democrat, have been to jail protesting for racial justice, opposed every unjust military action since 1980 (including not a few little military adventures by Bill himself, lest you forget “collateral damage” in Libya and to a certain Chinese embassy in the Balkans).
I have this to say: if Obama or Edwards are not the winners in the Democratic Primaries, then come November, in spite of his taking the wrong positions on 90% of all issues, I will vote for John McCain. He’s wrong, but he’s not lying.
Don’t trust anyone from the political machine headed by the man with the cigar.

The real loser in this kind of heated exchange is Hillary. The winners are Obama and the Repblicans. What is happening is that people who were determined to vote Democratic are now taking a hard look at the Republican candidates – especially John McCain. Huskabee’s idea of making America a theocracy is gonna leave him in the dust. So, McCain vs Hillary or Obama?

He is trying to push that through and they are trying to label some Democrats who are standing against it, as “Do Nothings”. We can’t let this administration get away with that! Remember ENRON? He even said he was always against invading Iraq which is completely not true. He and she both were all for it until it became a political liability. But now, he is just Hill’s attack dog while she smirks above the fray. He just didn’t like the media bringing it up for discussion.

You people have nothing better to do with your time I see. Was it not both Hillary and Obama who asked their true supporters to not play these games. I don’t understand how this ” change” is going to take place if the supporters of the campaign that is talking hope does nothing but bash the experienced canidate. If this is the change and hope you have for our country, we are in for more trouble than Bush ever created. How about some hopeful blogs and change your attacks on Clinton to support for your canidate. Clinton supporters atleast talk about issues and experience. If Obama has a great record.Lets talk about it. However, calling a woman a name and distorting her service to our country is not change. Obama and Hillary are not enemies, so why the hatred. Once again, to Obama supporters, is this the hope and change that you want? If your change, is being hateful the best way to achieve that goal is to lieten to issues. Talk about your canidate, don’t spread lies about the other. That same thought goes to real Hillary supporters.

The truth is, Obama does not have all blacks support. He can not and will not defeat any republican when the dust settles. We need a candidate that can win, and the Clinton ticket is most powerful and achieveable.

I guess I’m one of an ever increasing number of liberals that will be voting for McCain if Clinton wins the dem nomination. That’s a hard vote because I disagree with him on so many issues, especially the war. But despite that fact, I absolutely trust him. He has shown that he is one of the few remaining politicians will always pursue policy over politics. Just look at the number of times he’s been torched for standing up for his beliefs. He dares to say global warming is real, that torture is inhumain, that we should not employ the legislative “atomic option” to place justices. For this, many republicans hated him.
When Obama first appeared on the political scene, the thing that struck me most was his appeal for a new type of politics. He seems much more bipartisan and he, like McCain, seemed like the type that would put policy ahead of politics. But if he loses the nomination, as I now suspect he will, I think McCain would be the best person to carry on the goal that he tried to accomplish.

That why he now he fight back quicky and strongly against people who are bias, malicious, try to lie , distort the facts about him and Hillary. Proudly to have the US citizents like the Clintons

It really is a shame that race was brought into this race. When race is an issue it raises paranoia and paranoia raises fear of being dominated, which is pure horsepocky.

ABC News your bias reporting of the election against Senator Hillary Clinton is so obvious. Your starting to sound like FOX who always defended Bush the same way you are always defending Senator Obama. Please just reports the candidates perspective on key issues and the American public WILL elect the next democratic candidate. Shame on ABC News.

Geez, I am so tired of the Bush Family -I so am tired of the Clinton family, are we living in a monarchy? NO difference here people! they are both dogs with fleas.
Why are we so afraid of something different -the same ingredients will give you the same damn soup- mix them together and nothing will change -NOTHING.
If everyone is is so supposedly sicken and disgraced by our goverment, why would you want to put in a family that has brought you to this point? have we forgotten how we got to this point -papa bush >BClinton >BClinton >idiot Bush to >idiot Bush > and now we look to another Clinton -wow! i guess anything can happen -we voted idiot bush for a second term, doesn’t say a lot about us. We should learn and not be so afarid to give someone else a chance -the commitment itself might send a HUGE message that might start some wave of change. if OBAMA can beat the ClintonS and their SPIN machine and tricks the Republicans will be a pc of cake

I don’t know about you all, but I consider Bill’s outrageous deceit about Obama a substantive issue. I’m glad the media are covering it. He will continue to lie to the American people even if Hillary makes it to the White House. I don’t believe anyone wants that.

Posted by: Matt | January 23, 2008, 10:44 pm 10:44 pm

Most Clinton supporters are saying that Barack is playing dirty politics and that he needs to stress his issues. If Bill would cool his jets and let his wife(Who last I checked was the one running for President) address him personally then they would get their wish. I don’t hear or see Michelle or Elizabeth going after HRC in the tone that Bill is going after Barack. If people would pay attention to the debate when Barack was asked about Bill Clinton he talked highly of the Clinton years and the only thing I heard Barack say was that he did not know about his dancing skills. The Clintons have stretched the truth and it is SHAMEFUL. ( Being nice about it) HRC abandoned the people of SC because she realized that she couldn’t win. She left SC the morning after the debate. Bill is not the person that is running for President. I don’t believe the Americans in SC want to hear from him about HRC positions.
So go ahead and leave your little attack dawg Billy and keep believing that the American people (White,Black,Latino and all of the rest of the American people of diverse backgrounds) are STUPID!
Keep fighting for that third term Bill!!
yeah right.

This is a load of crap. I watched the supposed “outburst” video and it was no such thing. He was reprimanding a reporter for trying to bait him into another race laced story. He was calm and collected the entire time, never once even raising his voice.
Furthermore, I’m about tired of Obama. For all his talk of hope and unity all he can do is sling accusations and whine when he lost Nevada and New Hampshire. He is not ready for the big times and under pressure it is showing. He is coming off like an arrogant jerk these days.

It is no secret that the Clintons are running a nasty campaign against Obama…I heard Bill Clinton say that the media was on Obama side and not being fair to him and Hilary “Shame of you” (to the media he said). For one thing. he is not running for President Hilary is…why is he so involved with this…he is going way to far. Hilary does not have it…and Bill knows that maybe that is way he is always out front. Hilary left Bill in SC to do the work for her. “Attack Obama” and what message is she sending to the blacks of SC…she does not care about them nor there vote…she is just up and left SC. . That women is the devil…I don’t trust Hilary. If she gets that white house…God help us all. I will not vote for her even if she did beat Obama..no way! I am going to the other side…anyone is better than her or Bill.

The “Saint Obama” has proven that he is no saint. All the dirty movements and attacks he hurled at Hillary last night seem very traditionally politician to me. He’s still unable to express his policies specifically, while Hillary has gotten 82 leaders ready around the world who will immidiately get working to fix america’s image to the world from day one, if she is elected.

“”The truth is, Obama does not have all blacks support. He can not and will not defeat any republican when the dust settles. We need a candidate that can win, and the Clinton ticket is most powerful and achieveable.”"
Everyone knows Obama doesn’t have 100% support of the Black community. And even if he did, he still wouldn’t win. And so what if Blacks voted for him, big deal. Whites and women are voting for Hillary, no one complains or writes a story about that. I’m tired of hearing about race already. Stupid press.
Anyway, the point I wanted to make is don’t kid yourself. Repubs LOATHE Hillary. Indeps. don’t like her either. Dems. are split and many of us are NOT voting for her. In fact, many of us are voting with them against her – blame it on principles – and our need to have someone honest and decent in the WH….
So, do tell, where is the Clinton victory coming from? Even if all Dems. voted for her, there still wouldn’t be enough votes for her to win, even with Hispanics. Have you considered the MASSIVE number of Repubs. and Indeps. that will be voting against Hillary?
People HATE Hillary with a PASSION, they don’t hate Obama. Only ignorant and small minded people dislike him. So, she stands no better chance at winning than he does. Period.

I dare to ask these Clinton haters (republicans, some independents and some democrats), at least these two are passionate about their cause, they mingle into common people, they shake hands and participate in community meetings. They do care about people and live among people. You can call them power hungry.
But none of your so called imperial candidates including George Bush, Mitt Romney have done that. When Bush has asked a common man about problems he had faced in his life? What Obama has done for black people except graduating from Harvard, flourishing his superior elite class pride and claiming that he is black (what happened to his white mother?).
I remember Bill Clinton rode a train during his campaign in 1991 thru poor sections of the south and midwest. A leader has to be passionate. What you see in Clinton is that they like people and their causes.

Clinton’s not far off the mark is he. Everything Clinton says about Obama gets packaged as a “racial” attack by his campaign and the press plays right along because they love this kind of faux controversy. All the Clinton haters lap it up on the blogs and much ranting ensues. Of course it goes completely over the head of most people who harbor a deep contempt for the media which they seem completely oblivious of. I’d say Clinton knows exactly what he’s doing and the media is behaving exactly as he expects them to.

The media is taking sides here. This is politics it is not pretty. Like Hillary said back in May/July, “if you can’t stand the heat, get out of the kitchen.”
I would rather have Bill talk less, this is Hillary’s time; but hey, ever since he started talking we are winning. He knows what the media wants and he is feeding them with it, which of course stops Obama’s message. Brilliant! Keep feeding the junky,Bill. FEED THE JUNKY!

I’m an Obama supporter. And at first I thought this anger was a problem for Bill, but if you overlook the anger and read the words — he’s correct. By design or by accident, Barack has a lazy media in his pocket and now they are causing him problems by focusing on race. They — much more than the Clintons — have been driving the race debate. Barack, please, drop this issue and get back on track.

Once again Bill is seeking center stage. He’s triangulating the issue, claiming the people of SC are being hurt by all this. For one who’s so concerned about the “politics of personal destruction,” as it is with everything the Clintons do, they reverse to other what they do. Bill is using Hillary as his surrogate for a third term. HillBilly is what we will get if she wins. And 4 more years of harsh partisanship.

Anyone remember the pardon of Marc Rich that the justice department and the state department were against but Bill was for because of Denise Rich’s huge donations to Bill? How about letting Loral sell missile guidance technology to China that the state dept was against but Bill was for because the owner of Loral made huge donations to Bill? How about doing nothing about OBL? How about pleasuring himself in the alcove off the oval office or discussing troop movements while Monica was busy on him? I distinctly remember Bill getting lots of cover from the media during all this and in fact, the media was ready and willing to promote Hillary’s takeover of 1/7th of our economy with a plan that was devised in secret. I could go on an on…so Bill complaining about the media is pure hypocrisy but that’s no big deal for him – or her. They want this to be about race because there are more whites and women than there are blacks. It’s all part of the game to them. And interesting to hear Bill mention “shame”. I didn’t think he even knew the word.

Lifelong leftist employees like… Richard A. Clarke, George Tenet, and Colin Powell’s chief advisor perhaps? So the former head of the CIA and the Secretary of State’s No. 1 guy say that the White House manipulated intelligence to show a false positive regarding WMDs and yet you still believe the White House didn’t lie? Go talk to the intelligence analysts that resigned in protest when they got thrown under the bus by this administration; they’ll tell you exactly what they told me: they told the Administration there were no WMDs, but Bush went ahead with the war anyway. Pull your head out of the sand and do your own research before you start calling other, better informed people liars.

Believe as you wish, but an increasing number of Americans are getting their fill of Bill and Hillary Clinton’s antics. They had their day in the sun. Bill acts like Sponge Bob Square Pants on steroids!
They have managed to give the republicans all kinds of video in the last month that will have severe ramifications in November. Problem is: NO ONE CAN CONTROL BILL CLINTON. He is the epitome of a LOOSE CANNON! He is not a PLUS for folks looking for real solutions to public education; a solid energy plan; making corporate America more competitive with China and India;
and revitalizing the US military to protect this country in decades to come.

Posted by: Frank Rier | January 24, 2008, 12:07 pm 12:07 pm

The Clintons are the worst type or liars
They do not care if someone is hurt or
lied about, them and only them count in
this election.
They are the product of a MSM that has
no integrity, no courage and choose to
get on the television and lie, day
after day.
The American people fall for this every
time they pull a phony stunt, they
look for looks, charm, the subject
of character and integrity never appears
in their search for a president.
No class from the Clintons, they have
none and I guess the voters are too
lazy to fing the truth as Obamo has
pointed out to the voters and they
will continue to buy the lies, spin
tears, and his anger seems to think they
are strong, they are not, they just
manipulate the voters one more time with
their games. Throughly rotten to the
core. ‘

GO CLINTON”S !! Gee people it’s not like we voted him in for 2- (get it)2-terms. He did something right AND any of these candidates running Gop or Dems would be better than what we currently have. The voice of the people did not vote for this one 2-times, deep pockets did…remember Florida the second time aroung? OR have you already forgotten that in comparison to the Clintons’s “stuff.” I don’t know that Hilary is the “ONE.” But I do know that she is as good as any “one” of the others & there is substantial credentials backing her up. Go ahead a knock Bill, but he was a darn good president AND given the opportunity I would have him in the White House again. Macisbell

I have always been fairly neutral on the Clintons but recently read “For Love of Politics” and see a career-long pattern in these two. If you are curious, read the book. It is a fair portrayal of their time in the White House. The thing that most astounded me is HOW Hillary got to where she is. The fact that she is a New York senator truly defies reason.

How many times are you going to discredit the role of president and former-president? Have you no shame at all?

If Obama wins it will be the first time I will not vote for president. I won’t vote for Obama and I’ll never vote for a REPUBLICAN. I am sad, very sad over this process….
(count me in the older female group who marched in the south in the 60s).
