Dodd to Drop Out of Race

ABC News’ Donna Hunter Reports: Senator Chris Dodd’s run for president will soon come to an end, campaign officials told ABC News, following a disappointing showing in the Iowa caucuses.

After moving his entire family to Iowa, clocking thousands of miles on the road, campaigning in three statewide bus tours, and holding over 400 events the Democratic Senator from Connecticut will return to his day job in the U.S. Senate.

From the beginning of Dodd’s campaign, he was plagued by low numbers in national polls and his campaign struggled to gain traction.

ABC News’ Rick Klein contributed to this report.

RIP: Dodd’s 08 Campaign. You were a good candidate. Now, just throw your support behind Obama, please.

Dodd, I gained respect for you during the process, and your efforts and comments as a Senator.
It is a stacked system overall in my opine, but there are some integral people who are in that system, and we need to hear their voices. I think you are one of those voices. Thanks for your service.

thankfully our government has other branches where a man with Dodd’s intelligence and integrity can serve with influence.

Dear Sir:
I gained a lot of respect for you because of your actions concerning the criminal actions of this administration. I commend you, sir.
I would now ask that you confirm your support for Sen. edwards and his candidacy for President of the U.S. Sdince Kucinich seems to be out of the running, I believe that Edwards represents the best candidate that is for the people and against this regime now occupying the White House.
thank you.

This guy had no chance. Elections are about celebrity and he had none. He was also not very telegenic or a good public speaker. Then when you read his biography– a son of a famous politician– you lost all interest. This guys bother me, they run for their own egos, but they don’t stand a chance.

As a strong Dodd supporter, I’m dissapointed. But if he had to lose, I’m glad that Obama could win strongly. I just can’t see myself voting for someone as divisive as Hillary.

Dodd is a loser and maybe now he can go start working on the backlog of federal judges needing to be voted on.
