Edwards After Dark

ABC’s David Muir reports: On the O’Brien organic farm in Atlantic,  Iowa about 100 people packed themselves into a tiny farm house to escape single digit temperatures,  as they awaited the arrival  of former Senator John Edwards.  This middle of the night stop is part of Edwards 36 hour  marathon  leading up to the Iowa Caucus.

At 12:46am Edwards and his wife arrived to hear the crowd chanting "We love Elizabeth, we love John,  we want to see them on the White House Lawn.  Despite the most recent poll in the Des Moines  Register, Edwards told the crowd, "We have the momentum."

Edwards’ campaign staffers continue to point to other recent  polls that show this race is a three way tie among the democrats.

Iowa democrat Denise O’Brien, who hosted the event, said all three candiates were qualified but she was going with Edwards. O’Brien remembers  asking Edwards if he wanted to visit the farm.   She just didn’t think it would be after midnight.
