McCain: Michigan Will Go Just Like New Hampshire

ABC News’ Bret Hovell Reports: At his first campaign stop since winning the New Hampshire primary Tuesday night, Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., vowed that Michigan would go the way of the Granite State.

"We had a great victory yesterday in the state of New Hampshire," McCain told a packed hangar at the Gerald R. Ford International Airport in Grand Rapids, Mich. "The next victory has got to be right here in the state of Michigan."

McCain’s remarks came just 14 hours after his victory was announced in the first-in-the-nation primary. At first light Wednesday, staffers and press boarded a chartered Boeing 737 for the flight to Michigan, the first plane provided by the campaign since McCain announced his candidacy in April 2007.

McCain wasted no time explaining his strategy for victory in the Great Lake State.

"The reason why I just won that election yesterday in New Hampshire is I went to the people of New Hampshire to tell them the truth. Sometimes I told them what they wanted to know, sometimes I told them what they didn’t want to know."

In that vein, McCain turned to the economy, a critical issue here in a state with high unemployment.

"Some of the jobs that left the state of Michigan are not coming back," McCain said, before talking about his ideas for economic recover around the country. His plan includes educational programs developed and run through community colleges to train displaced workers.

It was the first of two stops in Michigan – the next in Pontiac, Mich. will be another airport rally. McCain will spend the night in Charleston, South Carolina after a rally at The Citadel.

Sending Mitt Romney to his second defeat since last Thursday, McCain completed a resurrection that might impress even Mike Huckabee’s supporters.
Can John McCain keep New Hampshire momentum going?

I realize McCain is a media darling despite of, or because of, his pro-war stance, but who has more delegates to date, Romney or McCain? Go Obama!

John McCain has a great deal more experience in military and foreign policy than does Mitt Romney,Rudy Giuliani or Mike Huckabee.Since our nation is at war, this is an extremely important distinction.Senator McCain understands that the war against Islamic terrorism is for the survival of the United States and Western civilization. He has supported our nation’s effort to defeat Al Qaeda in Iraq regardless of the political cost.If elected President,he would prosecute the war on terror with the same resolve.I will proudly cast my ballot for him.

Sorry, McCain may understand the issue of torture on prisoners but being in the military doesn’t make you more qualified to be President. I think our biggest threat is the economy, and McCain doesn’t understand that at all.
My vote in Michigan will be for Ron Paul.
