Obama Ad: ‘She’ll Say Anything and Change Nothing’
ABC News’ Sunlen Miller Reports: Sen. Barack Obama’s presidential campaign is set to release a feisty radio ad in South Carolina intended to respond to Sen. Hillary Clinton’s radio ad addressing comments Obama’s made about Ronald Reagan.
The scathing 60 second ad, entitled "Anything Radio" has an announcer saying that Hillary Clinton will say anything to get elected and is making false attacks against Barack Obama. The announcer then goes point by point – addressing the Ronald Reagan comments, Obama’s stance on minimum wage, tax cuts, and corporate tax loopholes, Clinton’s NAFTA stance, and reminds people that Hillary Clinton voted for "George Bush’s war in Iraq." The announcer concludes, "Hillary Clinton. She’ll say anything and change nothing."
These comments echo similar sentiments that Obama has been highlighting in the campaign trail in the winnowing days before the South Carolina primary on Saturday, just in better, more succinct sound bytes.
The Ronald Reagan comments refer to comments Obama made to the a Nevada newspaper editorial board in which he said "…I think Ronald Reagan changed the trajectory of America in a way that Richard Nixon did not and in a way that Bill Clinton did not. He put us on a fundamentally different path because the country was ready for it. I think they felt like with all the excesses of the 1960s and 1970s and government had grown and grown but there wasn’t much sense of accountability in terms of how it was operating.."
Former President Clinton took acception to Obama’s comments and has criticied the Illionis Demorat.

Finally looks like Barack’s channeling some Stephen Harper. “We don’t start fights, but we finish them.”
I used to think that nothing could damage the Clintons’ legacy in my eyes, but I lose more and more respect for them every day. I’ll go to the mat for Barack, and I doubt I’m alone.

I used to like Bill Clinton… voted for him twice. Sticking up for yourself against the odds is an admirable quality. Propping up an unqualified candidate by being a hatchet man is not. I’ll go with McCain and wait another 4 years if the Clintons get the Democratic nod.

Obama got out two important lines in the debate:
(1)Hillary will say ANYTHING to get elected.
(2)I don’t know who I’m running against (i.e. Bill or Hillary)
He’s got the narrative he needs and, judging from his radio ad, he’s running with it.
It’s about freakin’ time.

Let’s be honest here, Obama started throwing the dirt, and now he’s crying the loudest. In a fight with the Clinton Political Machine, he will come out the loser. Many more Obama scandals are coming out soon, and they make Rezko look like a Sunday Picnic..
Posted by: Jay | January 23, 2008, 8:52 pm 8:52 pm
Jay – Hope doesn’t mean not fighting back against lies and false statements.
What scandals could you be referring to? If you know of any, you could make national news by enlightening us. Rezko, while not the most savory of individuals, is certainly no Norman Hsu, who raised over $1 million for the Clintons and now sits in federal prison.
Obama has returned Rezko’s donations, including the bundled contributions (which Hillary did not do with Hsu’s in her Senate campaign), and did a whopping FIVE HOURS of legal work for him. Hardly the scandal that will bring down a candidate.
Posted by: Jake | January 23, 2008, 9:07 pm 9:07 pm
The Clinton have far more dirt in their closet than Rezko, No body i mean nobody can point any accusing finger at obama’s dealing with Rezko he had no illegal dealing with him period remember white water, travel gate, lincoln bedroom scandal, money for pardon that …………… the list is endless the clintons know that they are very dirty and they have always gone away with it, they just want people to believe that Obama is’nt as clean as he presents himself, they just want to distort his records and make him look bad so that people will see him in a different light and vote for them but the time is up and over hillary/bill the american people have changed and they now know better. you can only decieve your selves

I’ve been reading a lot of these posts and you can always tell a Clinton supporter because they have nothing substantive to add to the conversation and instead have to resort to the off-topic -and often bigoted- low blows.
All this has done is convince me that the Clintons will not get my vote no matter what.

Like I said, it is extremely damaging, and still has to be proven as factually true. I wish I could say more , but it would just be deleted. I am sure the MSM will be all over it after SC

Every time Bill opens his mouth why does Obama not just shove the Fellon issue down his ruddy throat? Bill Clinton was a fool, but we knew that now he barks off and no one calls his hand…he is a fellon. He copped a plea on this last day in office.
That might shut him up. My question is what does she do…that little saw off guy in Iran wants to fight and she coes shopping for shoes and tries to get Billy to fight for her? Or what?

Obama will not get the nomination. He can’t win with just the black vote. Even in SC he is getting over 70% of the black vote and 17% of the white vote. That won’t carry him in most states. All the big states like California, Texas, New york, Florida, etc., will go to Hillary.

We’ve had 16 years of polarizing, divisive Presidents. We don’t need 4 more years of the same. Billary is all set to ‘fight the republicans when she is elected’.
We don’t need more fights and polarization. We need someone who believes and will work for the UNITED States of America not just 40% of it.
As for Obama needing the black vote………well there aren’t a whole lot of Afican Americans in Iowa now are there.

Clintons’ tactics would work very well against Republicans of 90s (think of GHW Bush and Dole) but they no longer work in post-Rove era. More importantly, they won’t work in the Democratic base. Honest people still care about fairness and justice–principles Clintons are running against with their accusations.

I’m from NH and Obama did alot better here than people are saying. Obama got 105,000 votes here (Hillary got about 112,000). I think some Obama people believed the polls and assumed he was going to win so they didn’t vote. NH is 94% white. Obama appeals to people of all ethnic backgrounds, all economic backgrounds, both sexes, and everything else. He has this thing called “empathy”. He understands people. That’s why he is such a great negotiator. He only has 2 choices right now, let the Clintons mow him down or fight back with all he’s got. I’m glad he’s fighting back. May the force be with him!

And since you are counting votes, what do you think are the chances of her winning with just a fraction of democratic voters? THERE AREN’T ENOUGH WOMEN, HISPANICS or the black support (she does have) to secure a victory.
The Repubs. HATE Hillary and they will be out in MASSIVE numbers to defeat her. They will also have help from Indep. and Dems that hate Hillary, so you tell me, WHERE WILL SHE GET THE VOTES?

Barack Obama belongs to one of the UCC church’s in Chicago…Trinity United Church of Christ. It is true that it is an all black church. Judge for yourselves.
I belong to a UCC Church, but mine is in a small town in Iowa. Most UCC’s are not all one ethnic group, but his is.
Their minister is Jeremiah Wright. So controversil that he as agreed not to endorse Obama because that would cause problems in the election.
Barack is Christian, not Muslim as some try to portray him, but I still disagree with his politics.
I am a strong Hillary Clinton supporter. Jay is right about other things coming out about Obama. He has misrepresented his knowledge or lack of it, if you believe him, of Rezko. This man was already in trouble back in 2005 and the Chicago papers were writing about him, and Barack STILL decided to have a relationship with him. Lots of people were questioning why he would do this. I don’t know why, I just know he did.
If you don’t like what the Clinton campaign is saying about your candidate, you better hope he never makes it to the general election. The Reblicans, led by Karl Rove will make the Swift Boat Ads look TAME!
Hillary is the only candidate that has withstood their attacks and has come back the stronger for it. She has worked with and cosponsored legislation with Republicans as well as Democrats to get things done. We have 82 world leaders who have already contacted her to say they are ready on DAY ONE to start negotiating to repair our current status around the world. She is ready now for a job that he will take a year or more to learn. Go Hillary!

Those people who are saying that the Clintons would “say anything to get elected” must also believe that the people voting for Hillary will believe anything, including blatant lies. Or could it possibly be that the voters are making up their own minds, and the majority of them don’t agree with the Clintons’ critics?

Becca – Your lucidity is very refreshing. With that said, I disagree with you about who can better withstand the GOP in November. Nothing will fire up the Repubs like another Clinton to attack. Obama will draw a lot of disgruntled Repubs away from their party, as well as a lot of Independents. Hillary Clinton will unite everyone but the pro-Clinton half of the Dem party against her. Plus, Senator Obama has a few aces to play against the GOP that Hillary does not have: having spoke out against the Iraq war, anti-lobbying, not being married to Bill, etc. etc. Senator Obama is a very smart guy – and you have to admit, he does inspire people. Visualize an Obama/Romney race. Or an Obama/Huckabee (too good to be true). In my very humble opinion, Senator Obama would crush anyone of the Republican candidates who even underwhelm the GOP diehards.

former democrat, you have every right to vote for the republican. I think a lot of the hate for Hillary has nothing to do with her abilities, but years of being demonized by the media and republicans. It is ok if people don’t personally like her. If they want our country to go further into the hole it is in, then the republicans will take us there. No one seems to think Hill and Bill can’t turn our country around, they just don’t personally like them. I want what’s best for our country. I will support Hillary for president. She will win, despite all of this negativity. The republicans have dug their graves with Bush for the last 7yrs. Bill had the most successful democratic presidency since FDR. They have proven results.

He can put her away if he does not allow the lies to last one lie longer.
What is scary me the most is that HRC seems to only a surrogate now for Bill in an attempt to get a third term. Does nanyone else find this bizarre? Give them hell, Obama – liars and bullies always go down when confronted since there is nothing substantive behind the bluster.

I have to points to bring up about Obama: 1)Obama portrays himself as the uniter, yet as in so many other areas, he’s acted contradictory to his claim: He said he wouldn’t use race as an issue yet he has to hold on to South Carolina. He also first personally attacked Clinton in the SC debate. 2)No one knows what Obama is going to do if he were president! All he does is speak in broad terms like anyone who when elected, will just sit in power and do nothing, but even questionable things.

It is about time he got back on track ad called her on what she is doing. She will say anything, misrepresent anything, and pick on anything that will keep people from thinking about just what a slave to lobbyists and a lust for power she is.
Her husband lied, to the American people, to congress, and under oath, never mind that it was a crap investigation, purely partisan that he did nothing to try and resolve, he was asked a question and lied about it and made it OK to be so viciously partisan. She stood right by him and according to her was complicit in his actions. She vilifies republicans for being republican and we have had enough of that type of politicking. It is time to have someone who understands that sometimes you have to sit down with the opposition and work it out, and that those ideas usually end up for the best for the majority.

It’s not a negative ad if he’s simply reiterating his position and pointing out that he actually has integrity. This whole campaign is beginning to backfire bigtime on the Clintons. And just in time for Super Tuesday. Have you noticed how Hillary is now going after Latinos because her once huge lead with African Americans is completely gone? All they want is to get elected at any cost and I got good news for you all, my friends. The truth is gonna win this time. The Clintons are torching their own campaign and as she attempts to reinvent herself one last time, people will have had it.
Who would have thought this primary would let such a broad spectrum of America across all racial and socio-economic lines see what so many have known for so long about the Clintons. They cannot be trusted.

Hillary said everyone should be vetted for their record. If she has been fighting the Republicans for over 15 years, then she has plenty of record to be vetted! I say go after her every word with the i’s dotted and the t’s crossed. You should have plenty to chose: Whitewater, Travelgate, Filegate, Monica Lewisky, etc.
But remember, you’re only dealing in facts, not mischaracterizations, slimy , politics. Only the Clintons do slime, negative politics. Sen. Obama please continue to unify the country. Maybe, the Clintons are afraid of that!

“She will say anything” Yeah, she does say just about anything and that is just not a realistic thing to live up to. Some people seem to think that part of being a politician is being disingenuous.
I could see voting for McCain if I had to but I, along with a good number of Conservative Evangelical voters, would have a problem with voting for Romney or Giuliani. My first choice would be Huckabee. The fact that Romney thinks he can pick apart the whole political system and put it back together shows that he is a newbie and doesn’t have the hands on experience or understanding that is needed. Giuliani seems to me to be more of an opportunistic, do right if there is something for me to gain, kind of person. The result of such an ideal is that I don’t think that he would always do the right thing. In both Romney and Giuliani, the moral credibility is not there. I would vote for Huckabee to advance the cause of the Gospel. I would like to see what a man of real moral character could do. McCain would be a reluctant second place.

If Obama is nominated than the Republican Party is going to make a mince meat out of him. They will pull everything out of his record. If Obama is put off by Clinton’s tactics, just wait for Republican Party’s line of attack in the run up the general election. In all likelihood we will be electing John McCain or Mitt Romney in November 2009.
The Democratic Party is going to be badly divided that I really cannot see how Obama will come of this process unscathed. He will be compromised.

Low blows. Whos record supports the facts
Obama’s name has not come up in connection with any of the corruption charges swirling around Rezko. In fact, prosecutors indicate that the source of Rezko’s clout was somewhere within Democratic Gov. Rod Blagojevich’s administration.
“My relationship is he was somebody who I knew and had been a supporter for many years, he was somebody who had supported a wide range of candidates all throughout Illinois,” the Democratic presidential candidate said in an interview with CBS’ “Early Show.” “Nobody had an inkling that he was involved in any problems. When those problems were discovered, we returned money from him that had been contributed.”
Though she was passionate about issues like gender and sustainability, Mrs. Clinton largely sat on the sidelines when it came to Wal-Mart and unions, according to board members. Since its founding in 1962, Wal-Mart has aggressively fought unionization efforts at its stores and warehouses, employing hard-nosed tactics — like firing union supporters and allegedly spying on employees — that have become the subject of legal complaints against the company.
During their meetings and private conversations, Mrs. Clinton never voiced objections to Wal-Mart’s stance on unions, according to Mr. Tate and John A. Cooper, another board member.
Posted by: Mary | January 24, 2008, 9:27 am 9:27 am
Now I ask you, who is more ethical. A candidate who has thousands of donors, finds out one of them is shady and gives the money back?
Or a candidate who supposedly is for the blue collar worker, actively seeks union supporters, but sat by while a huge corporation cut the legs from under any worker who even breathed the word union?
Who do I want to lead the country? Who will represent “We the people”? Hmmmm The choice is not tough at all.

I don’t get this. I thought that she made it clear, she never mentioned Reagan’s name. Even in her ad she says NOTHING about Reagan. Her ad emphasizes his comments about the Democrats having no ideas over the last 10 to 12 years. That part of his comment is an insult to the people who worked very hard on things they really believed would make change, people who got paid very little but thought they were making a difference. He should have said the Democrats have not marketed well their ideas and left it at that. But he does clearly say that the Republicans were the party of ideas and THAT is what Hillary was addressing.
Posted by: Brandon | January 24, 2008, 9:41 am 9:41 am
The Clinton’s seem to forget that those who live in glass houses don’t throw stones. When Hillary called Obama irresponsible outrightly during a debate i realized the Clinton’s will do anything to win ethical or otherwise. Any man with intergrity, character, and ofcourse a moral standard such as Obama does not deserve to be addressed in that manner it was a cheap shot. Speaking of Irresponsibility is a president with a sexual misconduct that jeopardized the nation and denied it responsible? The people forgave Bill but not for on second should he and his family forget their place in history. For the sakes of those who love this nation, cast your vote with care the Clinton’s are more of a spiteful, vindictive, divisive force whose presidency is wont to profit their stakeholders. As for Obama, he holds a promise that in this lifetime the nation can witness a unified govenrment who would set aside partisan goal for national goals.

What did it cost you or should I say US for that strip of land you bought from Rezko!. Typical politican you may take SC buy you will lose the rest. Give it up my friend – go back to Illinois and vote “present”. That seems to be the only way you know how to vote – that way you don’t have to account for a nay or yeah vote.

Clinton supporters…please go get information on what Hillary did and did not say. It’s sad that things have gotten to this point. I would have to blame 50% on the Clintons and 50% on the media. Obama (just like anyone else) had no choice but to defend himself. I think he really tried to stay above it and have his supporters ward off the attacks. Unfortunately because Bill Clinton gets so much press coverage Obama had to take on the fight himself. I know it may turn some people off but if you put yourself in his shoes you would probably do the same thing.

To BMurphyNYC…the Clinton ad came out first. If you listen to them both you will notice that Obama defends himself point by point against what she said in her ad.

Oh poor poor Janet. Read up on the Obama guy. Don’t let media hype sway your vote. All Obama ever votes is “Present”. A neutral vote that way he can argue his stance either way – and what is up with that land deal. His friend “thief” bought a strip of land that Obama wanted and sold it to him for less money – what is up with that. If any thinks that a verbal agreement wasn’t made – get real. Obama is the worst candidate- he touts change and he is so far from that. He is gone negative on ads not because he has been attacked but because he is scared. Run run run Obama – wait until the republicans start in on you.

What does it matter who started the neg. ads first. If Obama feels he is above all that – then rise above it and let your “Clean” record speak for itself. oh and waht is that record. I used to be an Obama fan – and now he lost me – as I delve into his record.

Clinton’s lies and distortions have done something I didn’t know possible — taken me from a stance of “I’ll support whoever is the Democratic nominee” to perhaps considering the other party’s nominee or skipping the presidental part of the ballot entirely if Clinton is on it come November. Sadly, a lot of people I speak to say the same thing and I’m unfortunately confident that a Clinton win this spring will result in a Republican win this fall. I just can’t vote for four more years of Bush/Rove tactics.

Well, who ever wrote this article is aiding and abetting the Clinton smear machine by only quoting part of what Obama said. Obama also said that Reagan’s ideas had played themselves out.
Who wrote this article anyway? They can’t even spell the words “exception” and “criticized.”
Posted by: Pattabi S in Austin | January 24, 2008, 10:45 am 10:45 am
Janet – I read both ads and I’m not bothered by either of them. Obama made a rookie mistake in complimenting Reagan and relating Nixon and Clinton. Having said that, the Clinton’s took that comment to personally.

I believe it’s poor, poor mary who hasn’t checked the facts. Factcheck is a non-partisan group who checks to see who is telling the truth. I suggest you go there before you spread false information. I am one of those educated people who actually researched the candidates before I decided who to support. I live in NH and was on the receiving end of some of Hillary’s false information. I saw it up close and personal. I support Barack Obama.

Let me Inlighten some you people on American History! Regan is the reason the American Hostages were set free, from Iran! O yea you Hillary supporters didnt know that! Reagan is why the Berlin Wall came down! Opps you Hillary supporters didnt know that either? The Clintons , however have brought a new kind of Politics to America and its called Hate-Politics!
Posted by: Listen Up | January 24, 2008, 11:19 am 11:19 am
BMurphyNYC…I’m glad that you listened to both ads. I do recommend that you go to Factcheck to see the details of what Obama said about Reagan. It supports Obama’s statement that he did not say that they were good ideas. It also says that Obama was right about Hillary giving an interview to Tom Brokaw in which she actually complimented Ronald Reagon and his policies.

Clinton Sat on the Board at wal-Mart if I heard right? does anyone rememeber back when Nancy Pelosi was running that I could swear I heard That Wal-Mart was donating to the Republican Party? and if this is true then what does it make Hillary ? A Republican supporter? HELLO!
Posted by: Listen Up | January 24, 2008, 12:03 pm 12:03 pm
Let’s face it, in this run up to the SC primary, Obama’s only proving that he IS part of the Washington machine. Sur he’s an eloquent speaker, brings across an admirable message of hope and change, but his tactics aren’t free of semantical twists either. Would he “change” Washington? No. He’s part of the parcel.
Posted by: Michael | January 24, 2008, 12:06 pm 12:06 pm
Listen Up, get your facts straight: Was Hillary on the Board of Wal-Mart? Yes. Was she raking in the cash? NO. She was one of the most acrimonious players on the board, pushing solidly for womens’ rights and earned only $18,000 a year. Pales in comparison to Michelle’s $52,000 a year from TreeHouse Foods (Wal-Mart’s biggest supplier). Am I criticizing Michelle Obama? No. But to claim that the Obama’s are free of political plays is inaccurate. Funny how Michelle resigned only a week or so after Barack publicly criticized Wal-Mart’s labor policy. Calculated, Washington games!
Posted by: Michael | January 24, 2008, 12:11 pm 12:11 pm
I am getting sick of this ugly fight that Barack has started. At least President Clinton is helping Hillary. What the hell is Michelle doing???? nothing !! So, I hate how these accusatory, demeaning, atrocious comments are being made by Barack. Hillary can not be held responsible for what her husbands’ white house years, but she is responsible for her actions as Senator of New York. If you look at the roll call of the each session that Hillary was suppoesed to be at she was accounted for being there and she actually voted. Barack didnt show up for half of the sessions and hardly voted for anything. I think that it is a shame that he is even still a senator, the state of Illinois should be firing him for not doing his required job.
Shame on you Obama, you think you’re so righteous.
Hillary, You go girl….
Madame President

I want to know what Obama meant when he said that the Republican party was “the party of ideas” during the last 10 to 15 years. Doesn’t that alarm you?
Obama didn’t say the ideas were bad. Obama didn’t say the Dem ideas were better or even that they had any.
That scares me. Of course, may he just said it because he was pandering to the conservative editorial Board of a conservative Nevada newspaper.

Kathy walsh, re: “He would close the prison camp at Guantanamo Bay, which has damaged America’s moral standing, and strive to rebuild many diplomatic relationships.” Are you so certain? Obama opposed TWO SEPARATE Senate bills which would have pushed for the closing of Guantanamo. Clinton supported both. Are you sure he’s as change-oriented as you believe. Please check his record before you blindly vote for him simply for his motivational skills (which he does certainly have).

As a former Obama supporter, I must say, I am so DISGUSTED with him and his negative tactics. I even went to Nevada to help him for free, traveled on my own from TX. The Obama tactics at the polls was despicable and I would not participate in their strongarm tactics. When I heard that Obama was turning his tactics around on Clinton, I was shocked. Also, he ran the most disgusting Spanish-language ads against Hillary all the while contending that she was the one that was going negative. This was going on simultaneously while the Media was playing the so-called “fairytale” spin which was twisted and turned to seem racist. As a Hispanic woman who is married to a Black man — I am insulted and disgusted by Barack Obama, his campaign, his staff and his immature supporters.
I NEVER ONCE saw the Media getting jacked-up about the negative Spanish-language ad in NV that ran day and night and directly attacked Hillary in the Hispanic community. Now, Obama after his 2 losses looks only DESPERATE is in S. Carolina playing to the Black audience’s emotions with such terms as “bamboozled” “hoodwinked” — what?! And, he is being attacked, being victimized? Such crap! He is deliberately working on people’s emotions and for what? He will NOT win throughout the country after this display of reverse racism against Whites; i.e., the Clintons.
This is to all of you younger, college students who are idealistic about Obama. First, face reality about this man. Look at his record especially with Rezco — the crook from Chicago. Obama called him “that individual” when in fact they are friends. He is a BLATANT LIAR. Second, look at the way that YOU ALL are behaving at the polls and on the blogs — HATEFUL, DESPERATE, AND so NEGATIVE — you are direct reflections of Obama and that does not speak well for any of you. Look at this vitriol, look at your desperation — especially as Democrats. I’m sure that the Republicans are loving it ALL. And, will not hesitate to use Obama’s quotes in the general election. DISGUSTING.
Lastly– PONDER THIS: What if Hillary does win the Democratic nomination? When it is all said and done, Barack WILL SUPPORT HER if he is, indeed, a true Democrat. But, according to his recent interview with CBN, he is threatening that his supporters will not support her. Obama’s arrogant contention is that Clinton supporters will support him if he wins the nomination but not vice-versa. That is more than a threat. Why is that? I can see why — you are petty, hateful, gullible, and immature and would more than willingly follow immature Obama’s lead. What will the ramifications of not supporting Hillary be? More Republicanism, that is a given. Supporters of Obama need to seriously WAKE UP, GET A GRIP, AND FACE REALITY AND STOP THE HATEFULNESS AND VITRIOL. Do some research on your own, and stop listening to everything that is spoon-fed to you from the Media. They lie a lot too or you all that naive and immature not to know that too.
Signed –A disgusted, former-Obama supporter.

Kathy, Was it not Obama who ran the first negative media advert in Nevada? What did the Clintons say about it. Nothing. Certainly it was partly because that’s what they expected. It’s not a beauty pageant, it’s a contest for the Presidency. The Clintons expect politics. Obama, on the other hand, preaches he’s bringing “change” to politics, but he’s running the same dirty campaign, hoping people feel sorry for him being picked on by the Clintons. Truth is, he’s playing the game pretty well now, too. And Kathy, check the facts on the Feinstein and Harkin bills which Obama rejected. Doesn’t seems he’s overly motivated to close them down to me. Citing quotes might make me/you feel all fuzzy inside, but it won’t run this country effectively!

Gee, I’m so glad to see Obama is restricting his comments to the issues and eliminating any personal attacks on his rivals. My Dad used to call this, “Do as I say, not as I do.”

Obama’s ad come out yesterday, a few days after Hillary’s ad. Good for you Obama! I love it when people use the word “uppity” to decribed Barack. It is one of the most commonly used “code” word and scare tactics used in politics. As for the hispanic woman who is married to the black man and will not vote for Obama- you weren’t going to vote for him anyone. You were just waiting on an “excuse” you could use to justify your no vote for Obama. It had nothing to do with the fabrication you talked about.
Posted by: Tennessee | January 24, 2008, 3:51 pm 3:51 pm
I’m glad that you can claim to know what I am thinking — how arrogant and stupid of you. My husband and I both supported Obama since 2004 when we first heard him speak at the Convention. You don’t know what you are talking about. You are typical of the Obama campaign — immature, judgmental and way too naive to know fact from fiction. You are some Democrat. Where is all the unity and hope and change you believe in? Oh, that’s right. If it’s not for Obama, if it’s not YOUR way, it’s no way. Grow up. This country is in turmoil and you are being absolutely no help making your case for Obama with your small-mindedness.
Posted by: gina | January 24, 2008, 4:04 pm 4:04 pm
Tennessee– Oh, and words that Obama used to describe the Clintons like, “bamboozled” “hoodwinked” are not code, right? I’m sure those words werer NOT used in Iowa or New Hampshire. What a hypocrite. Obama also used code phrases like, “si se puede” which is used in the Hispanic community, but to no avail, because he was talking his talk and disrespecting at the same time. People saw through him. He began that phrase in New Hampshire… “yes, we can” turned into “si se puede” in Nevada. Only problem with that is all of that disrespect in those Spanish-speaking ads in Nevada did him no good. He is going to find himself in serious trouble after S. Carolina. Obama’s code phrases will not be forgotten when the rest of the country — comprised of many cultures, won’t be as gullible as you.

Gotta agree with Gina here. Obama’s just like all the rest in Washington. He’s proven that. At least with Clinton, we know what we’re gonna get. And if the economy is our biggest concern, they have a track record of getting us out of Bush problems!

You know I actually like both of them. I have read all the comments and it is ridiculous. You people of the USA sound like a bunch of punk kids out on the street, looking for a fight and not a political one. A street brawl is what it sounds like to me. I admire qualities of both candidates but I do not admire the way their voters are acting. It goes like this. One says something by the time it gets to the other it has been stretched out of proportion, it then is gotten to the voter and the stretchers of lies walk away and let the voters act and sound like 1960′s70′s punks looking for a brawl out in the street. Please Both Candidates Stop what was started because both you and your voters are beginning to look like fools with the idiotic words they are spitting out. You say you are stopping but people are not stupid they can read between the lines. Please no race riots now. You voters including me vote for who you want, but if you are going to say something let it be intellectual. Drop the race cards. It is ridiculous.Let’s show the world that we can act like smart voters not kids in the street. Have You learned anything since the 60′s 70′? I would like to say I surely have. They are both good candidates and that is what it comes down to. Now Vote! Please act like adults with some sense.
