Obama Raises $32 Million in January
ABC News’ Sunlen Miller Reports: Barack Obama’s presidential campaign raised a whopping $32 million in January alone. The number is the highest any candidate has raised in a single month and matches Obama’s best three-month period from last year.
In a conference call with reporters, Sen. Obama’s campaign manager David Plouffe announced the campaign will report 170,000 new donors and $32 million for the primary.
Plouffe said that the surge followed Obama’s New Hampshire loss to Democratic rival Sen. Hillary Clinton, "We took a lot of encouragement from that because it showed the resolve of our existing donor base but we also added a lot of additional donors that day."
Leading into a competitive Super Tuesday contest that leaves the races after it very much in play, the financial standing of the candidates is increasingly important.
"This contest could go on for some time in the primary and we think the strength of our financial positioning and the number of donors does speak to the financial sustainability and if it ends up going though March and April we will have the resources necessary to conduct rigorous campaigns in the states to come."
The Obama campaign will go on air in all of the February 9, 10, and 12 primary states in the coming days, and they already have significant money devoted to advertising in nearly every February 5 state.

As super Tuesday approachs, a lot of Dems are really panicking about a Clinton candidacy and all that implies. Hillary voted to give Bush authority to preempt war in Iraq. In a general election what can she say about that war, that will hold water? She lost her moral authority. Not a single life lost in Iraq will be brought back by her brilliant policy wonking. And now that 2 trillion in tax payer money has been spent on it, who will pay for those policies? Isn’t that what happened to LBJ too? When it mattered most, Hillary lacked the courage and vision of a true leader who can find a safe path for the people. Many people out of fear and anger backed the attack on Iraq even though it was clearly in retrospect, irrational. We need a leader who can calm and postively influence the public mind, not pander to it. Vote O.

On San Francisco Gate you can find an interview with Obama and the editorial board. That did it to me! He showed so much substance, so much understanding of what democracy is, so many ideas and viewpoints, that are new in today politics, but are also so common sense that you wonder “why hasn’t it always been like this?”
Let’s go for a wise president

Who are these donors ? I suspect they are registered republicans determined to put Obama on top someone they can chew up easily during the general elections.

If money talks then the Obama supporters won’t shut up. As we all know, funding is the achilles heel of any underdog campaign. Can you feel that? The winds of change are blowing. I think the HRC campaign is starting to shake in their Prada boots. Obama has the “mo”, the money and the message. All she has is republicans hoping she can still win. It should be a helluva show these next few months.

Wow, $32 million? Seems like the “Man of Change” is using nothing but the old tried and true way of getting elected. Wake up people. He is inexperienced, has no platform, and his incessant calls for fundemental change are as sincere as Hillary’s tears.

According to my calculations, today alone there has been 26 pro obama headlines and 3 negative clinton headlines. And we wonder what rich conservates who OWN the media such as ABC , MSNBC and CNN think of Bill and Hillary Clinton? I wonder what all you Obama lovers are going to say when the TOTAL opposite happens when he faces John McCain. Boy you are going to BEWAIL the injusice. America media BRAINWASHING the public into voting their way is a sure sign that America is FINISHED as a world power.

Quite the haul of money. Does ABC know the donors? Stories have been running about the return of monies. Is the $32 million net of the monies returned? Mitt Romney, too, has poured vast resources into the campaign, yet McCain who was almost broke appears very strong. These monies are probably a bad omen for BO. I think ordinary people look at this wealth, are disgusted by it, and want no part of this campaign.

Hey TVCASTER, did you read any news at all today? Ted Kennedy decided to support Obama because Hillary’s LBJ comments ###### him off. As they should have. Remember in the 60s, Ted happened to be all about Civil Rights? Or weren’t you around for the 60s? Like Ted Kennedy would even WANT to be VP.

Beware of a love fest from Republicans.
They want to win.
They have no interest putting a Democrat in office, over a fellow Republican.
Hillary, a woman energizes the Repos to vote. And a black guy supporting late term abortions even through month 9 won’t?
Obama’s folks earlier in the fall were saying how Rupert Murdoch was going to back Clinton and this proved it was all an inside deal. Well, today, the NY Post, the republican wing of the New York City newspapers has endorsed – - DRUM ROLL PLEASE – - -
O B A M A !!! Yeah!! Hurray!! Yippee!!
What does that tell you folks? They want him to win. They endorsed him. They will DEVOUR him. One bite. Without chewing. No water needed to wash him down.
He is lightweight, green, not even a HALF a term completed. Spent 1 year of the 2 he has been in, running for an even higher office, because the one he has is not great enough for his ego.
He squints at his audiences, nose slightly raised, arrogant and looks like he’s OWED this office.
Without a script, in debates, he stammers, he stutters, he hesitates. He avoids direct quotes of his own. He ducks specifics. He distracts with outside events. He dodges. He spins. He dips.
He is exactly like George W. Bush in an impromptu press conference. When he doesn’t have prepared notes taped to the tops of his shoes, he can barely run two sentences together. And debates show Obama has the same disease – arrogant self-righteous confidence, with an element of royalty. A sense that we all owe him something and are a bit too backward and old to hand it over without question.

I don’t believe Ted has been promised a VP spot, because he has far, far more power right where he is. Ted was infuriated by Hillary’s dismissal of JFK’s legacy, and with good reason. Also, Bill Clinton’s complete sneeringly dismissal of Obama’s win in South Carolina was nothing more than lightly-veiled racism. That can’t stand, and it won’t.
I WOULD love to see a place for John Edwards in an Obama administration….maybe Attorney General?

Polls aren’t picking up young voters on cell phones. Obama is not taking PAC money. Clinton is as hawkish as McCain, we’d never get out of Iraq and the corporate boards will continue to direct US policy. Obama is a chance at least at real democracy.

Posted by: Josh | January 31, 2008, 12:53 pm 12:53 pm
Caliwoman bone up on your facts, Obama took PAC money to launch his campaign and cut it off when confronted about it, he also took Lobbyist money and then changed his program to not taking from lobbyists directly but ok to take from Lobbyists wives, friends and non-registered lobbyists associates! Obama twist the laws as easily as he twists people who don’t check him out and only listen to his Tony Robbins style speeches! Get real folks, this guy is not what he projects, but then most con-men aren’t are they!
Posted by: me | January 31, 2008, 12:56 pm 12:56 pm
I am trying to figure out which of these two ideas the media is trying to promote:
1.) The media wants Obama in for the underdog, shining city on a hill, fairy tale story and thus ratings? Or . . .
2.) The media knows they are about to unleash on Obama. They know the numbers from Super Tuesday. So they are painting themselves FAIR before the tide turns and all the folks say the media is now racist or . . .
3.) The media actually IS FOR Hillary and they are playing so one-sided in order to INFURIATE people to counter the Obama vote in even bigger numbers.
It’s one of these three things. And so far, the race gap is not going to help Obama.

The beauty is people will vote early or caucus early to avoid the nonsense to come from the ads paid for with this money. The good news is the States can use this money both for the economy and the tax base. So, pour in the money and make the economy grow. “It’s the economy, stupid” as was said by Bill Clinton in the 92 campaign.

The Post endorsed Obama because the can’t stomach the idea of Billary back in office. (if you actually read the endorsement you would know that) They know a Democrat will be President in ’09 no matter who it is. They just think Obama is the lesser of the two evils. If they wanted to ensure a republican victory they would have endorsed the people that darn near invented hyper-partisonship. They see what we all see. That there are almost twice as many swing states as there was in 2004 and the democrats are on the verge of gaining a super-majority in the Senate.
What i think is very interesting and what we should start paying attention to is the fact that the Republicans are going to nominate a true Moderate and lose the Presidency, the Senate and the house for a long time to come. The story that is beginning to be told is the virtual extinction of the Republican Party. With Ron Paul cathcing the ear of so many true conservatives that want small government and even smaller spending. (did you see Ron Paul break romney’s heart when he reminded him that the true conservatives beleive that the President has no business interfering in the economy)Over the next decade i suspect that the republican party will take on the ideals and platforms of the Libertarian Party.
Could it be that the true legacy of George W. Bush is the destruction of the Republican Party. I mean Romney has gobs of cash and he even looks like he was born a Republican and he can’t even get love anymore.
Oh yeah…..
YES WE CAN!!! YES WE CAN!!! YES WE CAN!!!!

The only thing that changes in politics are the politicians and money. Senator Obama suggestion that he is going to remove lobbyists out of the system is just continuance of more political urban legends. Lobbyists and special interests have been part of our political fabric from the beginning, for bad or good, but none-the-less, they have a legal right to participate and partition members of Congress, whether the lobbyists are from Phillip Morris, AARP or the NAACP. Senator Obama is way over-selling more than he can deliver. Getting elected in politics is a lot like selling tickets to the greatest show on earth, the salesman must be a master of meta half-truths and suspend the buyer’s belief from reality into the intangible possibilities and false constructs, regardless of the facts.

BTW people,
The DNC led by the idiotic Howard Dean was set up to benefit well known candidates. And the Florida/MI decisions were beyond brainless. Look for “The Screamer” to be replaced.
Most of the Florida voting was done early (December) before most people even knew who Obama was.
Florida is filled with older whites that were raised in a segregated era and wouldn’t vote for Obama unless his skin tone was just makeup.
And yes, sadly many latinos will be racist against Obama unless actor Edward James Olmos endorses him. He needs THAT endorsement.
The polls pointed out by posters like “2009 where are you?” are old leftovers from November and December.
These polls DO NOT reflect Obama’s strength, independent voters, Republicans, or young people with cell phones. The pollsters only call over landlines.
These polls you see now were also taken BEFORE SC and do not reflect John Edwards not being in the race.
John Edwards will endorse someone AFTER the debate, Friday morning.
Bill Richardson will wait until Monday.
Both are leaning towards Obama.
In other words, while Hillary focuses on the larger states and ignores the smaller ones, Obama owns the smaller states and is pulling even in the bigger states. The polls won’t reflect any of this.
Super Tuesday will be a shocker, either way.

Sad thing is, you Clinton supporters will get nowhere without the many voters who support Obama and yet you insult their intelligence for picking him. Clinton will need the supporters of Obama in the end if she wins the Dem election.

I wouldn’t put my hopes in Polls at this point. The race is much closer than the Polls may suggest.
The polls showed Obama leading Hillary in NH by about 10 points but she ended up winning the popular vote( but not the delegate count) and Polls showed Obama leading by about 8 points in SC but his win was actually by 28 points.
Another interesting thing to analyze is the FL vote. Though Hillary won, Obama actually won the vote for all those who cast their votes on 1/29 and within the past week. Interesting, huh!
This race is all about how many delegates they can grab. The race will continue beyond SUPER TUESDAY!!

Meet your new president. And really, I don’t think Mr. Obama would have even had a shot at this if it wasn’t for the incredible bungling of Bush Jr. His decision to invade Iraq is undoubtedly the worst move made by a sitting President in the last 100 years, if not longer, and it will lead to Democratic majorities for years to come. Mr. Obama is the ONLY candidate that can save America from Republicans – and the country is saying NOW IS THE TIME.
Posted by: Rex Galella | January 31, 2008, 2:10 pm 2:10 pm
I have not decided on a candidate, however have noticed how much money that they raise for thier campaigns. Has anyone thought that maybe a candidate should donate half of the campaign money toward paying off the national debt. I bet that would get some votes! It would be interesting to look at the amount of money used in the last 3 presidential campaigns. What kind of shape would America be in now if that had happened?

These comments are full of bizarre and inaccurate claims. Democrats, you need to remain united as a party. I know many Obama supporters who will never vote for Hillary Clinton – with McCain on the Republican ticket many Democrats wouldn’t feel too bad voting for a moderate instead of Hillary. She’s polarizing. It’s pretty simple: vote for a new generation of leadership (Obama), that will remain above the fray vs. McCain, or nominate Hillary and lose the election because half the country absolutely despises her. No attack machine is worse than the Clinton’s triangulation and maneuvering, and Obama has survived it against remarkable odds. Leave your love for Bill and love of the 90′s at the door and think hard before you case your ballot next Tuesday.

I am one of these new donors, and I did donate after the New Hampshire loss. I have never before donated to a presidential campaign, let alone a primary. But, I feel so strongly that Obama is the best candidate for both a general election and to lead our country, I wanted to do something to help him.

Getting us safe again! Getting our economy strong again and getting healthcare and affordable education for our children! And I am not talking in the long run- Hillary will make these things happen immediately! As soon as she is in office she will demand these changes be made! She will show all of her doubters just exactly what a Capable Woman in charge can do! She’s got a lot to clean up but she is not lazy like Obama! She is not just talking Change -She can and will make Change!!
ThankYou Jay and men like you who are fair minded and not gender hating!

Barack Obama ranked as the most liberal senator of 2007, according to newly released National Journal ratings.
National Journal has tabulated the rankings of U.S. senators and representatives based on their votes for the last 27 years, and found that in 2007 both Obama and his rival for the Democratic presidential nomination Hillary Clinton shifted to the left in the run-up to the primaries.
Obama went from being the 10th-most-liberal senator in 2006 to the front of the line, while Clinton went from being the 32nd-most-liberal senator to the 16th-most-liberal last year.

Why do you people vote for Obama? Why not McCain or Romney or Clinton? They are all the same, and if you don’t believe me look at their voting records. Oh another thing to look at would be theri donor list. See just how many normal hard-working Americans donated money to Obama….not many. Most of his donations come from the same people who donate to Clinton Hucakbee McCain, etc. They are lobbyists and bug business people who just want a piece of the ever-shrinking pie. Do some research on your candidate instead of blindly following a socialist or a fascist. Don’t listen to what they say on CNN, read about what they did in the past. When they continuously spit lies, the only thing you can depend on is their voting record.

This quote, in the Chicago Tribune sums up Obama’s fund raising expoits, made by a M. Sreenan who contributed to Obama’s 2003 US Senate run that Obama’s Presidential campaign is claiming to now be sending to charity from their coffers!
Sreenan happens to own the land next door to Obama’s house that was bought with the aide of Rezko the slumlord!
Still, Sreenan said he was baffled by the notion of giving money raised at Rezko’s home to charity. “If [Obama] wants to give my donation back to me or let me give it to a charity, I’m fine with that,” he said. “But I don’t see how this makes a difference now — the money still got him elected. And how do I know it’s not going to a charity that’s offensive to me?”
Now this leads to one thing, do contributors to Obama for President know they are paying off previous Obama election dirty money with their contributions?
Obama claims to transparency, so why hasn’t he made a statement telling people to donate so he can pay the dirty money back that got him previously elected?

I have never seen a candidate,as Obama, that is being shoved at the American people and the love affair with the most wealthy Democrats: John Kerry and Ted Kennedy;and by the media, which is mostly Republican owned Fox news; and the Republican New York Post.
The New York Times had endorsed Clinton and there was hardly any mention on any of the networks. Obama is compared to Lincoln, FDR, JF Kennedy and OMG Israel’s King Solomon. It’s always mentioned that he graduated from Harvard. Big deal many politicians have degrees from Ivy league schools. That he was a community organizer for about 3 years. Many Ivy league graduates here in NYC put in 2-4 years to build their resumes for their own political aspirations. The community organizer in my neighborhood graduated from Brown University and lasted 3 years before he landed a job with a Senator. This has become so transparent. That Obama taught at the Uiversity of Chicago. Yes, as an adjunct, not as full tenured professor with publications of research or accomplishments in the field of Constitutional Law. That he opposed the Iraq war as a Senator in illinois. Good for him but one of our state representatives, Jose Serrano opposed the war,Patriot Act, continued funding for Iraq (Obama is identical to Clinton) but never received any national press, like Obama.
Obama does have a better chance of being elected than Clinton, with the tremendous backing of the establishment, but the high expectations will ensure nothing more than a nose dive.

Terrified that someone of brilliance might become president, instead of the same old dim-witted politicians they always vote for. They know…that after seven long years of Bush Jr’s endless incompetence…paid for out of the pockets of the vast majority of Americans who hate Bush Jr and what he’s done to our country…that there’s serious CHANGE in the air. They’re TERRIFIED that the GOP and their owners…the giant corporations who’ve sent millions of American jobs to China…will no longer run things in America. They’re TERRIFIED that the American people will once again be in control of their country…as was intended by our Founding Fathers.

Wake up and follow the money folks…lots of GOP loyalists sending cash to BO campaign because they are so hoping he will be the democratic nominee. They know that he will be the easiest to defeat because of his lack of experience, accomplishments and vague and shifting positions. Of course when he is challenged for details on solutions, he and his camp manage to change the subject to race or say that Clinton is being divisive. Meanwhile his campaign refers to HC as the Senator from Punjab and he can’t shake the hand of the person standing next to him. And he says he will be a uniter? Didn’t GWB promise to be a “uniter not a divider” when he first ran? Did he say how he would do that? Did he deliver on it? The answer is no. Don’t fall for the same slogans again. We need leadership, substance, plans and solutions not just speeches and slogans.

We need a President who will stand up and say “No More.” This will not be Hilary Clinton. She stood idly by while her husband made a mockery of America and the institution of marriage. If she won’t stand up to him – even after he LIED, PERJURED himself and was impeached. Why in the world would we let her lead our country!?! Of course Obama is gaining on her in the polls! People are being reawakened from their hypnotic slumber of watching a woman cry on national television and being reminded what an asinine man Bill Clinton is and how he can never again darken the doorway of nation.

You cannot — repeat, CANNOT — win the presidency without winning a considerable majority of independent voters. Hillary Clinton DOES NOT attract independent voters. Barack Obama DOES. So, I would remind everyone, does John McCain. To have even a prayer of winning in November against McCain, who now is the odds-on favorite for the GOP nomination, the Democrats MUST nominate Obama

Something seems fishy about Brittney’s survey. Just looking at Hillary fans on ABC, the majority of them say they are voting for her because she is a woman, or she has more experience.
Yet none of them remember she voted yes to the Iraq resolution to give Bush the authority to invade Iraq. None of them remember she backed NAFTA, as Bill pushed it through Congress. We lost a lot of American jobs to that.
Yet Obama, without the experience of being a First Lady, figured out the Iraq Resolution was a mistake, voted no on it. And he was against NAFTA. Go figure. Someone who is intelligent can make terrific important decisions.
As for the donations Obama has collected, it is because his answers to the issues are sound, (read his website under issues to see for yourself)
he gets to the heart of the problem, as in not taking huge corporate money like Hillary so he doesn’t ‘owe’ them when he gets into office.
I’m one of the little people who made a $100 donation, only the second political contribution in my life.
By the way I am white, a happily married woman, mom to three kids and middle-aged. It doesn’t matter to me if the best candidate is a man or a different color than me. I want someone who can work us out of the economic mess, our national debt and the Iraq War. I want my kids and all my fellow Americans in the middle-class and lower class to have a bright future.
Obama has the smarts and the courage to speak out against what corporate america is selling.

President of the United States Bill Clinton impeached by the House of Representatives on December 19, 1998, and acquitted by the Senate on February 12, 1999. The charges, perjury and obstruction of justice, arose from the Monica Lewinsky scandal and Paula Jones law suit. The trial proceedings were largely party-line, with no Democratic Senators voting for conviction and only three Democratic Representatives voting to impeach. In all, 50 senators voted “not guilty,” and 50 voted “guilty” on the obstruction charge. The Senate also acquitted on the charge of perjury with 55 votes cast as “not guilty,” and 45 votes as “guilty.”

The Clintons have been entrenched and laying in wait since Bill left office. As we’ve seen in both since her loss in Iowa, it’s all about taking back their White House and their legacy. For the last seven years, the Clintons have been laying low, avoiding controversy, and having Hillary vote in Congress with one eye on the polls. Their campaign strategy is coming straight out of the Karl Rove playbook – tearing people down, mischaracterization of statements, her and Bill injecting race and gender issues, and sneaky tricks like her crying. No drama queens need apply.

Please make your vote a thoughtful decision no matter your choice. But please remember —–
financial success in the 90′s was primarily due to the dot.com boom, not Bill Clinton
the Clintons supported and pushed NAFTA through
without protecting our workers
there were many fundraising scandals during the Clinton’s presidency
they sold sleepovers in the WH to the highest bidder
the prison population grew significantly under the Clintons
Cllinton began the tax cut for the richest Americans cutiing their taxes by eight cents on the dollar; Bush has given them an additional five cent.
remember the bitter partisanship?
the Clinton’s actually put into motion what is happeningto us today
keep in mind the Clintons new friendship with the Bush family
Hillary is a Bush/Cheney like democrat
she and Bill supported Bush and the Iraq war and Hillary even said that she would keep troops there for a long while, she has now changed her tune on that
can you trust her? she agreed to giving the casino workers in Nevada the right to vote at their work place a year ago and agreed to abide by the decision of the DNC related to Michigan and Fla. and then reneged to advanage herself
what difference has Hillary really made with all of her experience, her bully pulpit and her role in the senate
hispanics- she did not author nor co-sponsor an immigration bill, her democratic opponent did
there are many other things to be concerned about do some research
read the NYTimes today and learn of some of Bills inderhanded financial dealings which are happening right now unrelated to the campaign
the Clintons are not good for America and the average person in my opinion
I am going to take a chance with Obama!

We are faced with a critical moment in our nation’s history for choosing the course we take on the war, affordable health care, and ending our addiction to oil. We can choose between continuing the status quo – division and government ruled by the corporate lobby – or beginning to lead government toward accountability and solving the issues. This draws the greatest distinction between Clinton and Obama.

It’s a fact that Hillary Clinton would have never been elected Senator of New York without the sympathy of voters who were against how the Clinton-Lewinsky matter was manipulated politically. While I agree with them that the impeachment proceedings were a farce, sympathy for Hillary’s feelings was not a valid reason, I think, to elect her as a Senator.
We don’t have to endure this pettiness, not this time. Face it, George W’s and Hillary’s generation in the politics of division, tricks, and tactics to disillusion the public, has failed this country, dangerously so. The point being, if young people don’t take back their government this time, we can’t say we deserve better, but I believe we do.

Look at the Bush/Clinton years of politics – the tactics of division, the stereotypes, the scape-goating, the ease with which they blamed others. All of this distracts us from the common challenges we face – war, poverty, entrenched special interests, and injustice.
We can no longer afford the Clinton’s lies or fear or hate. It is the poison that we must purge from our politics.

All the talk about what the republicans will do to Obama should he be the nominee, has been going on since he began gaining momentum nationally. I read comments on several of these politica websites regularly, and it seems many Clinton supporters really feel this way.
For those of you who have been trumpeting that notion for nearly a year now:
Do you have any facts to support it?
Is it just pure speculation?
I think the problem is that these avid Clinton supporters actually BELIEVE in the “Vast right wing conspiracy” now renamed the “republican attack machine”.
Obama is doing just fine under all of the attacks from the clinton camp, and the third party groups calling him a muslim and an Al queda operative through e-mails and Anti-Obama websites.
Either of these candidates face intense negativity from the republican nominee. Which one can handle it better will never be known.

While watching this debate and in everyone’s best interests, I challenge you to analyze both their stances on the issues, and carefully consider where we are headed under old-time, Clinton politics. These issues are complex and will require a great deal of cooperation to solve. Obama is the only candidate who will lead us beyond the stubborn, partisan war in our politics to solve them.

“32 million is alot of favors!” – yeah, favor to the small donors, the American people, not special interests. What’s wrong with that?
And why do Clinton supporters keep beating on Obama for remote connection with ONE lobbyist? If that discourages you shouldn’t you be much more against Hillary? Favor Clinton for something else; to use this reason is pure hypocrisy as Hillary is much worse at it.
Posted by: foo | January 31, 2008, 8:29 pm 8:29 pm
The issues we face as a nation are vastly complex, and no one can possibly be the expert in all things – he/she’d have to be a doctor, lawyer, environmental scientist, military general and businessman all at the same time. Whoever we elect, he/she won’t possibly be all those – not Clinton, not Obama.
The point? We are looking someone to LEAD – to pick the best experts, to make the right calls and to have great visions. So the ability to inspire, to pull people together and to set the right tone for the country is every bit real.
All 3 candidates (now 2) have very similar positions and plans on issues – and I assume that’s the “substance” many people are referring to. So what are we looking for?
I would never hire an engineer just because he/she can smooth talk – no substance, I’d say. But when it comes to a political leader, the ability to move me as well as a nation, to make people feel passionate and willing to work for a better future (as demonstrated by the record number of small donors in Obama’s campaign), that IS substance. To have an agreeable and likable quality such that even those disagree are at least willing to listen and talk to you and find a solution together, that IS substance.
We are not looking for a technician to work on our cars. We are electing a president who can lead, bring us together and inspire. That’s a president’s role – and leave the rest to the experts he/she would appoint. Yes, what Obama has IS real substance.

During the debate, Hillary mentioned that only the well connected are well off. Isn’t she and her family one of them? It was her husband who was behind the failed 8 seaports sale to the Dubai company. It is her husband’s library which took millions of dollars from the same Dubai company which tried to buy the 8 US seaports. Remember that she made US$100,000 by reading the Wall Street Journal. Remember that the billing papers lost and resurfaced. Just analyse their financial status from the time when Bill became President till now. They have accumulated tens of millions of dollars and maybe hundreds of millions of dollars. Their presidency can mainly benefit their own pockets not the pockets of the American people. The job loss didn’t start with the Bush administration. It started in Clinton administration. China had nothing around 1992 as the Tian An Men Square just ended three years earlier. But look at China from 1992 to 2000, the ecomony exploded many times due to big US companies moved to that country during this time. And then many more jobs have gone there during the last 7 years. My fellow Americans, please wake up. Don’t be fooled by Hillary’s phony talks. She only has big corporations and powerful lobbists in mind. Not small people like us in her mind.

Obama is going to win the nomination and the Presidency. McCain is too much a Bush clone now, people want change. Clinton is not seen as independent enough from the Democratic party’s national machine. Obama is an intelligent, thoughtful, articulate, thinker. I think his family background makes him more aware of world issues, and we need a President who isn’t so isolated and clueless as Clinton sitting quietly on the board of WalMart while they bashed the union efforts, or McCain thinking US health care is the bomb, while so many working people are driven to poverty by one major illness in their family.

there has been a lot of talk that there are not many real differences between them, which favors hilary campaign, OBAMA MUST POINT OUT THE MAIN DIFFERENCE THAT HE HAS THAT SHE DOES NOT HAVE AND ALL THE EXPERIENCE IN THE WORLD WILL NEVER GIVE HER: OBAMA HAS THE ABILITY TO UNITE PEOPLE, PARTIES AND GET PEOPLE INTERESTED IN POLITICS THAT WERE PREVIOUSLY NOT INTERESTED IN POLITICS, AND THAT IS A HUGE DIFFERENCE THAT MAKES HIM STAND OUT FROM HER AND IS THE KEY TO A SUCCESSFUL PRESIDENCY. THIS ABILITY IS A GIFT THAT HILARY NEVER HAD AND CAN NEVER GET. IN ADDITION, THE RUPUBLICANS WANT HILARY TO WIN BECAUSE OF THIS MAIN DIFFERCE BETWEEN THEM. OTHERWISE VOTERS SEE THEM THE SAME WITH NO REAL DIFFERENCE. REMEMBER THIS IS NOT A POLICY DIFFERENCE BUT A CHARACTER DIFFERENCE THAT HAS DISTINGUISHED GREAT PRESIDENTS FROM GOOD PRESIDENTS, THE ABILITY TO UNITE. HILARY HAS THE GREAT ABILITY TO DIVIDE, and the republican know this very well.

Gender and ethnicity are big factors in this contest. Unique views of Americans’ mixed ethnicities, including Obama’s, are explored in the article: “Mixed-ethnicity Americans face challenges” (AmericanChronicle.com, Jan. 30, 2008) …

Pete, you certainly spotted the main difference between the two rivals. Obama has the personality and way to connect with others that is so important in winning people over to compromise on issues. I can see him uniting Congress to push important legislation through. I can see him getting us civilians involved in politics, pressuring our representatives to vote for the people’s interests, not corporate lobbyists.
Hillary can’t do this. She couldn’t get her healthcare plan passes last time for that reason.

Hey TOM, you say the media has control…. yeah, like they have control of P2P’s / IRC’s / Torrents and YouTube. Wise up idiot, these grass roots make up the modern fabric of the American Way, we are voting with our dollars for Obama. I like that the only scandle the media can seem to drudge up (and damn have they been digging hard) on Obama is that he had a bad real estate deal on a piece less than 3 acres …..3 acres and it’s in his book which is nothing compared to the depth of scandal that could be uncovered with any opposing candidate currently running. It’s the people that will decide this election, not corporations. Why is Romney down in the polls if it’s all about the corps? Romney is Carlyle Group family, if your theory holds water, TOM, Romney would be sailing to victory, but the good people in the republican party see right through that and are taking the lesser of 2 evils. It’s not about the corps this time buddy, it’s about us. I love that Obama inspires people to be more civic minded. Washington doesn’t have to be full of snakes. Can we kick the corporate media and spinsters square in the nuts so hard they can’t spin fast enough to keep up with progress? YES WE CAN!

HEY GUYS , YOU ALL ARE TAKING JABS AT THE CANDIDATES AND IT’S NOT GOING TO HELP. WE NEED TO FOCUS ON THE REAL PICTURE HERE. I DON’T CARE WHO WINS AS LONG AS THEY DO WHAT THEY NEED TO DO. NO ONE IS PERFECT!!!! NOT HILLARY NOT OBAMA, NOT MCCAIN, ROMNEY OR ANY ONE. WE WERE MADE THAT WAY FOR A REASON. PRAY AND ASK GOD WHO TO VOTE FOR.

Wow – what great insight, that’s all we need is to ASK GOD what we should do! More George Bush approach to problem solving – ask GOD. Idiot.
