Clinton Furious Over Mailers: ‘Shame on You Barack Obama’

ABC’s Eloise Harper reports: Sen. Hillary Clinton came to speak to reporters holding two mailers in her hand, visibly angry and animated. They are mailers that have been circulated before — one mailer reminiscent of the "Harry and Louise" ads that ran in the early ’90s, and another mailer quoting Clinton saying that NAFTA was a “boon.”

The New York senator said to reporters, as she waved the mailers back and forth, that she wanted to “express [her] deep disappointment that [Sen. Obama] is continuing  to send false and discredited mailings with information that is not true to the voters of Ohio. He says one thing in speeches and then turns around and does this.” She continued,  “He continues to spend a million dollars perpetuating falsehoods that is not the new politics the speeches are about. It is not hopeful, it is destructive.”

Clinton then directly addressed Sen. Obama for his actions, saying “So shame on you Barack Obama. It is time you ran a campaign consistent with your messages in public. That is what I expect from you. Meet me in Ohio. Let’s have a debate about your tactics and your behavior in this campaign.”

She continued to scold Obama saying, “These attacks on what we tried to do the last time we went after universal health care is the worst kind of politics. Number one, it is wrong and untrue and number two it is exactly the talking points the health insurance industry used on a daily basis. Sen. Obama knows that it is not true that my plan forces people to buy insurance even if they cant afford it.”

Clinton went after Obama’s speeches in a harsher way that she has before. “Time and time again you hear one thing in speeches and then you see a campaign that has the worst kind of tactics reminiscent of the same sort of Republican attacks on Democrats. Well I am  here to say that it is not only wrong but it is undermining core Democratic principles.”

Are the mailings a reflection of Obama’s character? she was asked. Clinton did not directly answer the question, but said, “Sen. Obama knows, or should know, since he is paying for it, that these two mailings are false, they are false. We have discredited them, they have blanketed the states between Super Tuesday and today with these false misleading discredited mailings, so answer your question. I would if it were brought to my attention, say, wait a minute we shouldn’t be doing this and we shouldn’t.”

Clinton was asked if it was fair to ask her about NAFTA because it is attached to her husband’s legacy. Clinton noted, "It wasn’t negotiated by him, it was negotiated by the first Pres. Bush, it was passed and signed into law. And I have been a critic of NAFTA for years. As a senator I have raised  questions about NAFTA, long before Sen. Obama started running for president.”

ABC’s Sunlen Miller also reports: The Obama campaign has issued a response, via a paper statement by Obama campaign spokesman Bill Burton:

“Everything in those mailers is completely accurate, unlike the discredited attacks from Hillary Clinton’s negative campaign that have been rejected in South Carolina, Wisconsin, and across America. We look forward to having a debate this Tuesday on the facts, and the facts are that Senator Clinton was a supporter of NAFTA and the China permanent trade treaties until this campaign began. And she herself has said that under the Clinton health care plan, she would consider ‘going after the wages’ of Americans who don’t purchase health insurance, whether they can afford it or not.”

Hillary is too nice to Obama and also too weak to attack him. I really don’t undertand why she didn’t attack him more on the Texas debate. Obama attakced him falsely many times but the whole world think that Hillary attacked Obama falsely.

The drumbeats by the conservative commentators like Bill Bennet may have more material on Michelle Obama for next week after her Princeton thesis which was supposed to be sealed until November reveals her thoughts on Black-White race relation.
Michelle Obama’s “For the first time in my adult lifetime I am really proud of my country”, may “fire up and ready to go” those reluctant conservatives to vote for war hero John McCain.
The Cindy McCain incident is also an example of how the Republicans will use Michelle Obama statement to motivate their conservative base with 30 seconds commercials.
Now, we have Michelle Obama’ Princeton thesis may give those conservatives more ammunition with excerpt like the following:
“I have found that at Princeton, no matter how liberal and open-minded some of my white professors and classmates try to be toward me, I sometimes feel like a visitor on campus; as if I really don’t belong. Regardless of the circumstances under which I interact with whites at Princeton, it often seems as if, to them, I will always be black first and a student second,”

Hillary failed to note that NAFTA was SIGNED AND PASSED INTO LAW BY BILL CLINTON and that she spoke in support of it many times!
More proof of lack of judgement on her behalf,…

She is coming across schizoid, especially in contrast to the high road she took when she was face to face with him last Thursday night. Does this mean she will go on the attack Tuesday? If so, she will just come across even more schizoid. She must be really irate over the WashPost article this morning, or might have just been briefed on a tracking poll in either TX or OH that wasn’t good news.

The truth hurts doesn’t it? Did you think people would forget your part in NAFTA?

Hillary is the best person for the Presidency. The Republicans want to run against Obama because they feel he would be easier to run against in the general election, so they keep going into our primaries to vote for Obama. That’s the only reason he’s winning. Obama is also copying the Republicans with his negative shananigans against Hillary. I don’t call that Change, copying smear techniques from the Republicans. Wake up Democrats, and vote for Hillary.

I am sick of Barak Obama. He is no different, and in many ways worse, than those he accuses of being “old politics”.
When are his supporters going to see him for what he is? Maybe it would help if the media put this story on the front page instead of a political blog. The American people need to know about this man before it is too late.
Pay attention America – he said in the Thursday debate that it is silly to think his supporters are somehow being “duped”. No it is not silly – they are being duped by him and his slimy campaign. He says one thing in debates and speeches and runs his campaign just the opposite.
Media chased John Edwards from this campaign. Please, please report these stories where all Americans can see or read them. This election is too important. Maybe the lead on ABCnews.com should be this story instead of gloom and doom in Hillaryland.

Too funny. A 60 year old woman having a temper tantrum.
She gonna do that with Putin?
Why don’t ya’ll research Bill and Hillary about Monsanto?
NAFTA was signed by Bill.
Was WACO another Whitehouse tantrum?

Posted by: JB | February 23, 2008, 2:00 pm 2:00 pm

Tantrums, tantrums.. I am weeeeely upset!
Facts: Bill Clinton signed NAFTA into law, on many public occasions Hillary has praised NAFTA.
Facts: On her health care plan Hillary requires individual and family mandates. She admitted on ABC news interview with Stephanopolous that she would garnish wages.

OK does she love him or hate him? Or is it that she will say anything to get elected? Oh, it’s Hillary Clinton speaking. Silly me, sorry for wasting your time.

Posted by: bob10001 | February 23, 2008, 2:08 pm 2:08 pm

You know, I think Hillary will take Obama’s butt to the Hoops this time, also, better a tantrum than that incessant whining from Obama and his supporters everytime he is questioned about something. Hillary has a right to be angry, Obama has used this tactic over and over again. As far as Hillary’s war vote – yeah, she did vote for it but Obama voted to fund it!!! He might want to take a page from Dennis Kucinith’s playbook – like standing by his principles. How hypocritical can you be?????

Hillary is acting like a child. This whole campaign she has criticized Obama and his campaign as being some fairy tale with no substance while she sits there and spouts crap that she was coached to say that every politician says. NAFTA came about during the Clinton administration and if she is gonna ride good sentiment from those times then maybe she should take accountability for what happened then, or the fact that really Clinton did little and just let problems pile up. I don’t understand why anyone would vote for her, listen to her in the debates, she rarely answers questions and then turns it into a speech about how great she thinks her health care plan is meanwhile interrupting Obama when he responds to her allegations. Perhaps Americans should listen to someone who says stuff with validity instead of who talks the loudest.

She wants attention, she can’t get it any other way.

Guys-First–I was a hillary supporter and even caucused for her in IOWA–lucky she did not win as I would be crying now-understand this is DO or DIE for clintons–In IOWA I personally received false allegations of Barack Muslim ties–but Obamas team handled in maturely–this woman scares me to be president?did anyone notice the guy who was standing next to her!!I feel so sorry for bill clinton–under the hands of this woman!!hillary is done–she now needs to stop ripping the party apart–it’s time she stepped down and went for a vacation!!she’s gonna go nuts!!I’m not sure if anyone will be proud to support this campaign and how it has been run!!

CLAWS are coming out….again….and that is the real Hillary not the one she acted to be in last week’s debate closing..that again by xeroxing Edward’s and her husband’s lines.
Fliers she is complaining about are as tru as facts..on NAFTA ..and..forced-helathcare

Two days ago she was honored to be at the same debate with Obama, and today she things he’s run a shameful campaign. Guess she didn’t find her voice yet.
It’s like watching her campaign staffers – some devils and some angels – battle for her soul.

Geez Hillary, are you running for President or head of the cheerleading squad? Temper tantrum on the campaign trail? This woman is her own worst enemy.
Memo HC: Your husband signed NAFTA into law and the mailer used YOUR OWN QUOTES.

Posted by: Kevin | February 23, 2008, 2:38 pm 2:38 pm

Tsk tsk. Temper temper. Hillary Clinton behaves like a spoilt brat, stamping her foot when she does not get her way. Is that how she is going to react when a foreign nation says something she doesn’t like? “SHAME ON YOU, RUSSIA!” *stamps foot*
HILLARIOUS.
Go home to Bill, Hillary. See if he can buy you a new presidency.
I don’t get how she can be so deluded about her own health care plan when everyone in America can see that it forces people to buy insurance when they can’t afford it or don’t want any. She will GARNISH YOUR WAGES, people! And what about the homeless on the street with none, huh? What’s she going to garnish? Is she going to take away their cardboard carton makeshift shelters coz they can’t pay for insurance? What an idiot. Obama is right on this one. Quit whining and go home, Clinton.
Also, your selective memory is astounding. Thankfully there are millions of us who still remember you speaking in favor of NAFTA back in the day. Denying it won’t help and will just make you look like a LIAR.

These changes in persona used to be entertaining, but now they’re seeming, well, just awkward to watch. I remember watching Admiral Stockdale debate, and wishing someone would just come and gently lead him off the stage. Starting to get that same feeling again.

It seems Obama is doing the dirty job of the Insurance Companies, Republican attack machine, and the special interest with these mailers.
That is slimy.
Wake up Democrats! Wake up!
It’s not too late for you folks in Texas and Ohio. I see and smell a character flaw here in Obama.

Posted by: SO | February 23, 2008, 2:44 pm 2:44 pm

Obama must hear the angry rumbling of the voters deceived by Mr. Honest. He attempts to disparage Hillary with the “status quo” label. His crowds hold him up as the magician able to snap his fingers and “wow change”. He preaches to his followers not his powerful original rhetoric but the words that inspired a generation before him to take action that made it possible for him to run for President.
Hillary has already been where Obama is. She has already been inspired to action and she has already taken brave decisive action and faced the consequences of those actions. Obama has yet to stand on new ground, to leave his footprints on any new battle ground, to suffer any wounds and recover and fight again. When so many of us who have already done what he proclaims to be such hard work we just snicker at this “wanna be warrior”.
Hillary has always been proud of her country, taking on issues when they weren’t popular. It was Hillary who was a lone woman Washington outsider marching into the halls of Congress and attempting to bring a fierce Republican Congress to the table to talk about health care, when she was First Lady. Because of her action, that many paint as a failure, she made it possible for Obama to talk about universal health care today. It is easy for Obama to be the Monday morning quarterback, he wasn’t there. I don’t think he was even a “wanna be” then.

Posted by: jim | February 23, 2008, 3:00 pm 3:00 pm

OK – What about “the Clintons supported NAFTA” is Kool-aid induced? Call me a “cultist”, etc. but the facts remain, Bill Clinton made NAFTA law, Hillary worked for WalMart who lobbied for NAFTA, and now Hillary has done a 180 in order to court the Union Labor vote. Do you dispute these facts?

Posted by: TurtleWedge | February 23, 2008, 3:06 pm 3:06 pm

Slimy politics upsets me. But this kind of hypocritical trash from Clinton takes it to a new level.
There’s a simple key to understanding Hillary attacks: she always accuses her target of her own offense.
She’s the one guilty of distorting Obama’s health care plan. She’s the one guilty of Rovean tactics. This “shame on you” joke is pure Clinton hypocrisy. What an ugly blotch on humanity she is.
And stop insulting voters’ intelligence. We know what a mandate is. People have to buy into your plan, period. Whether or not they can afford it.

Posted by: Mary L | February 23, 2008, 3:09 pm 3:09 pm

Why isn’t the liberal media focusing on how Barack Obama is using dirty politics to defame Hillary Clinton? Hillary Clinton is a brave, determined, experienced, gutsy, strong, amazing,
Obama is a rookie. First time around the block. No battle scars. Hillary has the battle scars to show America she is STRONG.
Barack Obama doesn’t even have enough fortitude to quit smoking without his wife giving him an ultimatum. This is a great metaphor for his deeper character.
If he doesn’t have the good common sense to take care of himself and stop smoking, how is he going to have a high enough level of consciousness to know what’s best for Americans? Simply, he isn’t. He’s a great performer. A star with X-factor magnetism. But wake up America. Britney Spears had that too for a while. We don’t need a Hollywood actor, we need a seasoned warrior, like Hillary.

Over the debate in Texas, Obama seemed to be so proud about his judgment over the Iraq war. He was right from the beginning. It is a BS to me. No one was 100% sure that there won’t be WMD under Sadam’s possession until US army was on the ground and digging in. Fortunately and unfortunately if there WMD was found, I think Obama is chewing dirt now.
He also said that the Iraq war would divert our attention from Afghanistan. If Bush’s team did not think that they can not do it then Bush will not do that. Just liked Obama argued in the debate that he won’t run for president if he thinks he is not ready. So, he conflicted himself. The same argument, Bush failed but Obama won’t fail. He may be right on Iraq war but the inexperienced guy like Obama most likely to make more mistakes than Hillary. It is why people hiring people with the experience.

Watching a video clip on the internet, when Obama tried to blow his nose with the microphone next to his nose for whatever his intention was. But when he did that people just rallied and chanting him for the act. It is disgusting and I think it is really a cult or something. He should run as a rock star rather than running as a president.

QUESTIONER- Were you a child left behind? Can’t you read? Your excerpt from the history of NAFTA does make the point that it was promoted by President Clinton, without overwhelming Democratic support. That was before his actions caused the backlash that knocked the Dems out of the majority for 12 years. Hillary is on record as supporting NAFTA. She has also stated that she will have mandates to ensure that universal health care is enforced, regardless of how affordable it is. These are not lies on Obama’s part. This is information that reflects on her policies and judgment. The point is that her judgment has changed on many issues to suit the prevailing political winds (Bill Clinton is for NAFTA its a great idea/ people of Ohio lose jobs/we have to look at trade agreements again). She is offering promises as if they were solutions saying she can do it. Obama is offering solutions that he believes can be accomplished with everyone buying in. I don’t trust anyone who says, “Just trust me”. Especially when they have been so inconsistent in the past.

Officials with the McCain campaign and the Republican Party say they won’t be suggesting Obama is less than patriotic, and instead plan to focus their criticisms on his record and inexperience if he wins the nomination. Well-funded outside groups, however, consider ANYTHING fair game.

obama supporters, shame to most of you, not all. You can go back and read your political history and interpret any way you want. You may be the educated people obama claims is voting for him, I doubt that very much. I have met more uniformed obama supporters then I can count. You claim that obama is the golden cow, with warm and fuzzy words, but by comparison he lacks what it is going to take to be a ‘uniter’. and If mandating health care is so wrong, I am assuming you all operate your vehicles without insurance. and Most poor people I know have health insurance, its called well fare. I see many people take advantage of that care. So for you that are insured now, I see that this is not an issue for you. I will not vote for obama, never, i will not defend my vote for 4 years.

Ahh, is so nice to see all the sexist AND racists in the Democrat party go after each other like wolves. So much for the liberal fairy tale of peace, equal rights, and respect for everyone reguardless of race, class, or sex. This election is a refreshing spotlight on the emptiness of the ideals of the left. They espouse these lies of their principles to get you to trust them, then do the exact opposite to each other, sacrificing principle and ANY personal character they may have, to slander, and viciously attack those who may usurp their chance to worship at the altar of supreme power and influence. Their purpose is POWER, care nothing for their fellow man (especially YOU). At least now finally the left has exposed their warts for all to judge and to see. Thank you Hilliary, thank you Barack, you have done America a great service.

Lori – excellent point. Among the biggest decisions a president makes are executive branch appointments. These selections have a significant bearing on how well the government functions.
As an interesting aside, the Republicans often focus on judicial branch appointments, which are important, too. But when you strip away all the semantics and fluff, this interest often revolves around a desire to see Roe overturned.
Anyway, back to executive branch appointments. We’ve seen what appears from the outside to be a dysfunctional Clinton campaign, and a campaign manager who was hired for loyalty above competence who recently has been replaced. Contrasting this is the Obama campaign, in which we rarely notice its there – most of the attention remains rooted on the candidate, suggesting to me the campaign runs well enough to stay out of the news.
I’d say I’d have to score Obama a little better as someone likely to make effective executive branch appointments.

And the award for biggest hypocrite ever goes to Hillary Clinton!
After running clearly the dirtiest, most deceptive campaign of the two (supported by polling in WI in which 53% of voters cited her with “unfair” tactics, as opposed to 33% for Obama), Hillary proves just how full of it she is once again.
Ironically, her campaign was just criticized on news outlets for a mailed flyer showing a group of people and asking “Barack Obama, which one of these people does not deserve health care?”, which is equally, if not more, misleading in light of his plan.
Enough, Hillary. We’re tired of your belief that we voters are stupid and are not paying enough attention to the whole story to buy your crap hook, line, and sinker

It’s funny, but if you cut and paste some of the comments here in to Google…you can find them elsewhere on the net–nice to see ‘original’ thoughts here.
And you HAVe to love the name-calling–whether it’s the ever-original S+L McCain or ‘Obamidiots’. What does that add to a discussion? It certainly doesn’t show any thought or intelligence.
If the information is false, it would be easy for Clinton to provide the corrections or to prove the information false. Did she? If Obama has lied, this is a perfect opportunity to show it.

Here is the real reason why she is decrying these mailing – SHE IS BROKE! Her campaign has financially sank, and what better to way to counter, what she can’t do due to financially constraints, by calling them false – despite the facts flying right in her face. Anyway, doesn’t she remember the flyers she send calling Mr. Obama which one doesn’t deserve healthcare coverage or that his record on pro-choice is less than pure! Talk about tactics! We can see the sinking titanic – build never to sink, just like her inevitable campaign!

You Clinton haters can continue to spew your hatred and bring her down so that she looses this nomination. When Obama-nation ruins our economy and puts this country at risk you might rethink it. Usama Bin Ladin supports Obama. What does that say to you? The Clintons have many many flaws and are wrong on many issues, but if you are a true democrat she is best choice. Destroy the Clintons? Wait and see what the alternative is going to do.

excellente360: NAFTA was actually signed by Pres GHW Bush (1st) in his last month of office. But, in the United States, NAFTA was able to secure passage after Bill Clinton made its passage a major legislative priority in 1993. If Clinton had not had Congress ratify NAFTA, it would not exist!

Well, you all can support who you want.
Up until today I was an undecided independant but that has changed.
I have learned some things that have turned me against obama. His ralleys remind me of the dawn of the dead movie. The media seems to be pimping Barack, and what happened to objectivity? That he approved phamplets that purportedly lied or distorted the truth. A news release about his business partner may explode in Baracks face here shortly. These I suspect are a small fraction of baggage that comes with Barack. I believe i’ll just take the safe road and support Hillary.

Older woman are the women who changed the reality of the United States. We are the women who brought this country equal credit, better pay, affirmative action, a family-focused workplace; the women who put childcare on the national agenda, established rape-crisis centers & battery shelters, marital-rape & date-rape laws; fought for prison reform, founded the peace & environmental movements; who insisted that medical research include female anatomy; created women’s studies & Title 9. We are the proud successors of women who, though it took more than 50 years, won us the vote.
Women have endured sex/race/ethnic/religious hatred, rape and battery, invasion of spirit and flesh, forced pregnancy; being the majority of the poor, the illiterate, the disabled, of refugees, caregivers, the HIV/AIDS afflicted the powerless. We have survived invisibility, ridicule, religious fundamentalisms, polygamy, teargas, forced feedings, jails, asylums, sati, purdah, female genital mutilation, witch burnings, stonings, and attempted genocides. We have tried reason, persuasion, reassurances, and being extra-qualified, only to learn it never was about qualifications after all.
I support Senator Clinton because I believe she will make history not only as the first US woman president, but as a great US president. Right or wrong, in November I will be casting my vote for a candidate I believe in, whether she is on the ballot or not.

very interesting to see our country welcomes a never-wrong, should-never-be-questioned, no-record, god-like-preacher to irritate such a hype. also interesting to read some of his so-called-well-educated supporters’ comments, which simply puts a shame on our education system.

Hillaries claims are meaningless at this point. She has already completely discredited herself. I, and many other people I know, have stopped listening (to her) at this point.
Her desperation and repeated resorts to personal attacks are making people embarrased for her.
She has certainly earned the huge decline in her reputation that will follow her loss of the nomination to Obama.

Oh, how devastating for him. Let it be, let it be.

With the democrats shredding each other to bits, McCain should walk away with the election.
There are even e-mails going out comparing the tax liabilities of the Bill Clinton era to that of the George W. era. The difference is eye-opening. If we get a democrat back in office, people better save extra to pay for an approximate 10 percent increase in their income taxes.
The Dems have lots of great ideas, but neither have come out and said how much extra the average income earner is going to have to kick in to pay for the programs.
Come on Dems, put out the idea and then explain how we’re going to pay for it.
One other thing – Obama had me until he said he’s pulling everyone out of Iraq in the first 50 days of his presidency. I’ll be over there when that would take place. I don’t like the thought of being stuck with minimal troops around me and a president that has already said he’s not sending anyone back. If there is an uprising during the mass exodus, I’m screwed.
If he wins, I hope he convinces congress to allow the SGLI life insurance to be raised to $1,000,000 to care for my family forever. I proudly volunteered to serve my country but I didn’t sign up to be sacrificed. If I am, I want my family to be WELL taken care of.

The hypocrisy of liberals is personified in Michelle obama’s thesis remarks. It really doesn’t matter how deferential that liberals are to blacks they will always be critical of whites. Liberals want blacks to be dependant on ‘masser’ government. That really doesn’t differ from the plantation criticism leveled against southerners. If blacks really want equality and not deferential treatment then they need to quit demanding and accepting ‘quota’ treatment.

Set aside your loathing of the Clintons. Can’t you see what’s happening???? The most liberal senator is going to be president???? The American people need to stop it from happening. 150% turnout in the democratic primaries? If this momentum continues, it will not be stopped in the general election. As a democrat I thought it inconcievable that the Clintons would loose. The Clintons!! 65% approval ratings. Loved by most democrats and the strongest political machine in history. If Obama can beat that, there is no stopping him. Think about that!! He’ll probably get John Edwards on the ticket and have the most liberal candidacy and this country will be so leftest that its going to tilt and flip into the ocean.

HYPOCRITE!! PART OF THE PROBLEM IS THE WAY THESE TWO CANDIDATES ARE PORTRAYED IN THE MEDIA. OBAMA MUST HAVE SOMETHING ON ALL THE MEDIA OUTLETS BECAUSE THEY DON’T WANT TO SAY ANYTHING NEGATIVE ABOUT HIM. Then in Nov they will vote for McCain and guess what it is bye bye Obama. Because the people for Hillary will either vote for McCain or not vote. Problem is, why did Obama wait till Hillary and John Edwards put their plans forward before agreeing with them on Health Care etc. Because Obama can’t think for himself. At the debates he agrees with Hillary on a lot of her plans. Why is this? But the one I like is Obama health Care where if the parents don’t have Health Care for their children they will get a fine. But the problem is if they can’t not afford Healthcare how will they pay the fine. Is it off to jail with them parents. Then the kids will be home alone. Hillary is blowing more hot air. That is all she does. Hillary supported NAFTA and the China permanent trade treaties. But when she began campaigning, she changes her views to follow the wind. Hillary has said in past debates that her medical health plan will be mandatory. Hillary has said that she will have workers wages deducted for the medical plan. HOW will that work for those of us who can only get temporary work in our high tech field after loosing our jobs to outsourcing when I was already in my mid 50′s? I can barely hold on as it is. HOW will that work for workers whose hours are always being cut? How can that work when there is no job security?

Here we go again! You know, its amaizing to me that in the year 2008 that there are not better suitable candidates for the President of the USA. The whole campaiging stage appears to be nothing but a rotten tomatoe throwing contest. Does anybody out there have any dignity left in them? You have women voting for Hillary because she’s a women, you have blacks voting for Barack Obama because he is African American. The last election I think only 50-60% of the USA population even voted. I am embarassed as an American these days. Has the intelligence level of this country gone back to the neandrthal days. I think McCain is going to keep us in war. I am not sure about Hillary or Barack yet. I keep waiting for a real calm collected leader from this Great Nation to actually come forward and put all these backstabbing kiddy shows to the side. Instead we are subject to reading about all the inconsistencies and lying that is occurring in this campaign as the ones in the past. Are there really any straight shooters out there. Our fore fathers, Native american, white, black, hispanic, Mexican, etc. would be ashamed at the theatrics we have to endure at picking our modern day president. I have yet to run into one politician that doesn’t have an obscurred lie to sell themselves. I am not even going to get into the fiasco of President Bush invading Irag for Weapons of Mass destruction, come to find out Sadam never had them. Sadam was stating he had them, why? Because he was afraid of Iran invading Iraq and taking over the oil fields. He was hip to what was around him. So here we are umpteen trillion dollars in debt
later with no respectable Knight on a White Horse candidate for president in out sights. I tell you it is absolutely embarassing. Apparently we as a human race are not any smarter today. I worry for my children, the next generation, and where this great country is actually headed. At the rate that we are going we are going to be back to horse and buggy days and possibly starting all over again. I apologize if that this offends anyone, but I actually feel this way. There are so many real concerns that need to be addressed, from healthcare to transportation, to middle class and poor families working all week to be poor. We have been duped! Rise up real americans and smell the coffee, our current situation is not what our fore fathers had envisioned for us. Modern day nightmare!

Obama NAFTA quote was a Newsday blog statement. Furthermore Newsday just put out a statement to that effect. Here is the relevant part. Quote: Obama’s use of the citation in this way does strike us as misleading. The quote marks make it look as if Hillary said “boon,” not us. It’s an example of the kind of slim reeds campaigns use to try to win an office.
That said, we should have been clearer.

When Hillary tried to bring Universal Healthcare to America in 93, she did not anticipated the inhuman like viciousnes and hatred towards her by the HMO industry. The attack on her was obscene lies and as usual American public believed the big lies that Hillary’s plan was “socialistic”.American public has been lied too and taken in repeatedly by the skillful manipulators and they are being lied too now. American public are decent and honest people and they cannot see through the masks of the liars and thus taken in again and again. Bush’s campaign when he promised to “CHANGE” America and the world was a huge lie successfully duping the Americans. WMD was another huge fig which has put us on a tiger’s back now in Iraq. Obama’s promises of changes are resonant of Bush’s promises and they seem to be working in exciting the young’s passion. Obama’s claim that he is the anti-war hero is a big lie too. Granted, he was against the war in the beginning. But anyone who sincerely opposed the war couldn’t vote three times to fund it again, again and again with hundreds of billions. Any anti-war senator could not confirm Rice to be the Secretary of State as she was the originator of the war by all her big lies of mushroom clouds on Chicago, etc. Kennedy did not vote for her. OBama confuses partial truth with real truth. He should say he was against the war in the beginning but funded it thres times if he is an honest man. His shrugging off his plagirizing whole sections of the other’s words is real worrisome. He refuses to recognize his reckless statement about Bombing of Pakistan is harmful to American standing in the world is the biggest problem of all. He does not seem to know the consequences of the words of leaders. How can he forget “Axis of Evil” had nearly brought about two more wars and stoked up the fire of nuke races? He is just not mature enough to realize what effects his words as an American leader can have over other nations, specially the muslim nations.
For the sake of our country, we should really take close looks at the candidates instead of basking in the euphoria induced by lofty words and mass meetings.

Obama is a HYPOCRITE. He talks about “silly season in politics” on live television when he is attacked. In the meantime, the hypocrite has his camp busily printing untruths about his opponent. Part of the problem is the way these two candidates are portrayed in the media I think Obama must have something on the media outlets, because they don’t want to say anything negative about him. Maybe the media is afraid to criticize him in any way, lest he or someone in his camp pull the race card.

Obama supporters are not being duped. All of these types of things are listed on his website and in blogs. None of it gets past us. The problem is you do not know enough about the details of his plans (they are there for you to view and even download) so you assume that everything Hillary says is true. The fact is Hillary has been sending out false information into the community through mailers for some time now, and I mean things that are actually nowhere based in reality if you do some research. His are true. Why don’t you look into how well the universal plan in Maryland is working. Hers would be nearly the same. Look at the way he would ensure everything is conducted in a transparent manner, and we would not be forced to pay for something. I want insurance, do I want to move out of my home to get it? No. If I cannot afford it should I be punished with fines and still have no insurance to show for it? Hillary thinks so, she is considering garnishing wages as way to mandate it. The way that she will mandate it is not completely certain, but that seems to be the strongest stance she has for making it work (and her only stance for why it is different, but if you look at his plan he has regulatory plans in place, she does not) Please check into these things before you react.

Before she has the chance to run the country, the woman runs her campaign with 47% budget deficit. Is this the kind of person you want to manage the country? Let her in the White House, many silverwares will disappear along with your Social Security, your 401K.

Posted by: ablanche | February 23, 2008, 4:17 pm 4:17 pm

It is odd that Hillary wants to use her time in the White House as her experience but then does not want to have anything to do with the policies of her husband which were truly destructive to the working people of this Country.
As far as healthcare, she can’t have it both ways. She wants a mandated program and has said that she would garnish wages.
Comparing Obama to Bush and then crying foul is a bit hypocritical. I wish she would decide which “Hillary” she wants to be. Given the way the Clinton campaign is going, she is sounding less credible by the day.
In the end, the Clintons came to power making all kinds of promises the first time only to abandon them in order to join the Gingrich war on the working people of this Country. Promises are cheap. Why should we believe them this time around?

Posted by: nmben | February 23, 2008, 4:18 pm 4:18 pm

Hillary wants to take credit for all of the years that she was co-President to Bill Clinton, and for all the experience she has based on 35 years in politics, but she refuses to take responsibility for any of the mistakes — NAFTA, health care, and the Iraq war just to name a few. Why aren’t these fair game for Obama? It’s not enough to be ready on Day One, you have to be right on Day One. Hillary can’t own up to her own mistakes. We don’t need another W in the White House. Go Obama!

Posted by: Jeff | February 23, 2008, 4:18 pm 4:18 pm

I guess Hillary is going to keep repeating that she wasn’t for NAFTA and for garnishing wages for her mandatory insurance plan until people think that she’s not lying. A Clinton will say anything to try to get more power.
Obama’s campaign is just telling more of the truth and Hillary’s getting busted by it.

The world of academics and especially Ivy Leaguers is a very harsh place for a person that tries to stay grounded.

Earth to Patriot 2008. You are delusional if you think the only reason Obama is doing so well is because of Republicans invading Democratic primaries. How do explain all the closed primaries that he kicked HRC’s butt in? Gimme a break. Just look at all the polls putting McCain against Clinton and Obama. I’m from NH and received the false flyer Hillary sent out in early January saying that Barack Obama was not for women’s choice. It was so totally false that several people from Planned Parenthood and NOW changed from supporting Clinton to supporting Obama. Every state she has gone to she’s sent out either false flyers or robocalls. She is such an unethical and dishonest person. I hope the people who haven’t voted yet are not duped by her. Do not believe this woman. Karl Rove and Bill Clinton are friends.

NAFTA: As a Canadian, boy do I want to debate NAFTA. I live in Fort McMurray, Alberta, home of the second largest oil reserve on earth after Saudi Arabia. Under NAFTA your country now OWNS our recourses, run by American oil executives. You run an major trade balance with us because WE are your largest oil and gas suppliers. Under NAFTA and only under NAFTA is it possible for your nation to be building oil pipelines from Alaska down through my province. Not one of us want that piece of crap. Furthermore, almost every Canadian drives American vehicles. Five hundred BILLION dollars are spent by our oil companies with American companies for oil sand related companies, such as 50 caterpillar @1.5 mil each and on and on. Not to mention the thousands and thousands of Americans working here in the oil sand business. Now under NAFTA your country is taking us to court in order to get at OUR fresh water for YOUR American western states. I agree, scrap NAFTA. I’d much, much prefer buying from Japan, Korea, or China. Tell the truth I’d rather sell OUR oil to China and Japan every day of the week. Every damn day one billion dollars of American products are shipped into my country. We should be able to buy from Korea or China, or Japan, better and cheaper products.

“You want the truth? Ms. Clinton, you can’t HANDLE the truth!!” How’s that for a little bit of “borrowing” from A Few Good Men.
Hillary Clinton has shown her true personality in her rant and rave today. When things don’t go her way, when she’s criticized, she gets UUUUUGL-Y.
Hillary’s “Universal” health care is a good start, but it’s not a panacea. It has its problems, which Sen. Obama has pointed out. She’s happy to criticize his universal health care plan at every chance she gets. But she can’t take return criticism??
Just another example of Hillary’s “It’s all MY way or the Highway”. We don’t need such a narrow-minded and authoritarian leader. We’ve had one for the last 8 years, and you see where that got us. Give it up, Hillary.

Gee, I hope they debate in Youngstown. The world would benefit from seeing that not all of the area isn’t a rusting pile of steel. It would be great if they could debate in our new Chevy Center, or at the visitors’ center at Fellows Riverside Gardens, or at the beautiful Stambaugh auditorium or the DeYor Complex for the performing arts. If they wanted to capture a beautiful piece of presidential history, they could debate at the McKinley Birthplace Museum and Library’s auditorium. Or on the front porch of Clarence Darrow’s house in Kinsman. What a great place for people who say they are committed to freedom to have their debate! Youngstown is so much more than derelict steel mills and poverty. I hope they will come here and let the world see that!

This is a sign to me that Hilary is DONE. And she knows she’s done. She knew she didn’t gain one inch in that debate and her campaign machine was looking for ANYTHING to get back on the offensive. Obama has been saying the same thing about her supporting NAFTA and her mandates in her health insurance plan for weeks, if not months. She could have taken him to task on it a few days ago on National television where he actually repeated these claims RIGHT IN FRONT OF HER but she didn’t. Why is she suddenly trying this now? It reeks of desperation and is embarrassing that she thinks people are dumb enough to fall for this. Then again, America voted George Bush in office twice so maybe they don’t deserve respect.

The truth is, the NAFTA Agreement was signed by Bill Clinton on Sept. 14 1993. Sen. Clinton has always touted her 35years of experience and this includes her years in the White House. This is Hillary Clinton voting record on the NAFTA issue.
1) She voted yes to free trade agreement with Oman, Ref. United States – Oman Free Trade Agreement: Bill S.3569: Vote number 2006-190 on June 29, 2006.
2)She voted yes on establishing Free Trade Agreement between US and Singapore. Ref. : US-Singapore Free Trade Agreement Implementation Act. Bill S.1417/HR 2739: Vote number 2003-318 on Jul. 31 2003.
3)She voted yes on establishing Free Trade between the US and Chile. Ref. US-Chile Free Trade Agreement Implementation. Act. Bill S. 1416/HR 2738. Vote number 2003-319 on July 31 2003.
4)Voted yes on granting normal trade relations status to Vietnam. Ref: Bill HJRES51: Vote number 2001-291 on October 3, 2001.
5)She also voted for open trade with China, despite China’s substantial human rights violations and evidence to show that NAFTA has caused the loss of millions of US jobs to non-industrial countries and hasn’t delivered on the promise of widespread prosperity.
Sen. Clinton speaks about NAFTA saying that she never supported it from day one. The true is in her voting record. Don’t believe what anyone says, just look it up, use the internet to see her voting record on NAFTA. You think Americans cannot search for your voting records, “Sen. Hillary Clinton Shame on you”

What a hopelessly desperate woman. I wonder how long it took her advisors to come up with this false rant. She did support NAFTA; I’ve heard her praise it. She did support the China trade treaties. It’s a matter of public record. Her universal halth care plan is mandatory and healthcare coverage will be deducted as a payroll tax if you fail to obtain it on your own. So her saying that Obama is a liar only proves that she herself is a liar. She’s grasping for pieces of her sinking ship.

The democratic race is polorizing the electorate to the point where the division will cause the democrats to lose in nov. The rehtoric coming from constituates on both sides is getting more ugly as time passes, young vs. older, black vs. white and male vs. female. Observing all posts, the younger voter is polorizing the electorate the most and this is not the unity I was expecting in this election. Now racial inuendos are appearing in the posts and this will only further divide the party, as well as cause race issues to escalate. I am fast becoming disenfranchised with my own party for the first time in all my years of voting and so are a lot of others. I don’t think people realize on both sides how fractured the party is becoming and this will cause some to not even vote in the general election or vote the other side. If this race comes down to the super delegates determining the winner, we will surely lose the election. I for one, have already went down to the department of motor vehicles and have already changed my affiliation from Democrat to Independent and I urge all the Obama Democrats to do the same. Most of these “Super Delegates” (which Bill is worth 12 just by himself!) are enter-twined with The Clinton crime family. They are either paying back favors or they like politics the way they are and are speaking with their own greed instead of the will of the people the are “suppose to” represent. If we all unite under the independent party we not only can get rid of Hillary once and for all but we can also get rid of all these “Super delegates” that sold us out!

Obviously, a major decision must have been made last night by Hillary’s “handlers.”
First, we had “overconfident, guaranteed candidate”, then we had “teary ‘I just care about America’”, then we had ugly divisive racial-based insults, then we had cozy Hillary in LA, then back on the attack again, then “I have so much respect” in Tx, now the big blow-out.

Posted by: Marty | February 23, 2008, 4:41 pm 4:41 pm

Look at the mailer’s cover, the statement is 100% true – her healthcare plan does mandate (which means formally orders) everyone to purchase it, Obama’s is optional; you do not have to purchase his policy. That is why she says that her plan is “universal” and his is not because his coverage does not mandate (force) you to purchase it. Both plans offer subsidiaries to make it affordable, but Clinton’s policy forces you to buy the plan, Obama’s policy does not force you to buy his plan, unless you have children and then you have to buy coverage for your children. It’s fairly simply. However, take the 18% impoverished Americans and the homeless, even after the subsidiaries if they decide that it is too expensive for them to purchase the plan what are they going to do? Well, Clinton’s plan says that all Americans MUST buy her plan, even the hobo sleeping in Central Park, even the working-poor family living in Bushwick.

At the Texas debate she gets booed for the change you can xerox line and then applauded for the bit at the end (Irony I know but hey!) When is she going to start to give people positive reasons to vote for her? And if the Obama campaign wants to hit back they can just dig up some of those robot calls from Nevada telling voters what ‘Barack Hussein Obama’ is all about, or talk about the Clinton campaign in South Carolina.

The quote marks make it look as if Hillary said “boon,” not us. It’s an example of the kind of slim reeds campaigns use to try to win an office.
That said, we should have been clearer.

Barack Obama and his fellow state senators considered more than 175 pieces of legislation on a frenetic day in March. Of those measures, Obama voted “present” obama did not show up to vote in the senate often in his short time there, missed 130 votes! will not answer any reporter on how we would voted at the time. But his record after fact shows he supports the war, voted twice in 2006 against bringing America’s troops back home. He votes for war appropriations giving our money to Halliburton and Blackwater. His latest bit of posturing S 433 allows the Bush Administration to suspend any troop withdrawal!!!!Which if not suspended, still keeps the troops in Iraq for a long time to come? Obama when faced with tough choices always gave in to pressure from the Bush administration or corporate lobbyists. Such as Obama voted for Bush’s energy bill, sending more than $13 billion in subsidies and tax breaks to oil, coal, and nuclear companies. Obama voted with Republicans to allow credit card companies to raise interest rates over 30 percent, INCREASING STUDENT LOANS RATES AND FEES increasing hardship for families. Obama voted for one of Bush’s top priorities – expanding Nafta to South America – even as President Bush obstructed all the top Democratic priorities. Obama voted with Bush to make it harder for ordinary people to hold big corporations accountable when they do things like sell toxic toys, poisonous pet food, or just plain rip you off. Obama was the Senate’s biggest Democratic advocate of subsidies for liquid coal, even though liquid coal produces twice the global warming pollution of the crude oil it’s meant to replace (Obama “backed off” this position after being pummeled by environmentalists for several months, but still voted for increased subsidies, albeit with conditions)Obama, a Hamiltonian believer in free trade and supporters of globalization has lent his support to the “Hamilton Project formed by corporate-neoliberal Citigroup chair Robert Rubin and other ‘Wall Street Democrats’ to counter populist rebellion against corporate tendencies within the Democratic Party. Obama provided assistance to pro-war candidates (such as Joe Lieberman). Obama voted for “business-friendly ‘tort reform’ bill that rolls back working peoples’ ability to obtain reasonable redress and compensation…from corporations!!! Obama considers single payer universal health care too socialist and has stated that he prefers voluntary solutions. He has no substance. He has provided no solution to any problem until Hillary, Edwards or even Mitt Romey publically expresses theirs, then he copies, He’s been constantly negative with everyone.
Friends Say Drugs Played Only Bit Part for Obama, now his drug buddles are coming out for him. Obama admitted to smoking pot and going coke in dorm rooms, talked about “getting high.and drinking alcohol and using cocaine as a high school student. So he admits to doing drugs all through school. That’s a role model—not!!! This is why the young supports Obama!!

How Hillary Clinton can stand there and talk about shame after:
1. Supporting NAFTA…her quotes extolling it’s virtues are easily googled
2. Talking about garnishing wages for her MANDATORY health care program…all over the place.
3. Plagiarizing both Bill Clinton and John Edwards (and mixing a little Barack Obama in there as well) in her last debate.
This lady is a joke. She changes her story more often than a book of the month club.

I’ll bet not. She told ABC’s George Stephanopoulos that “we will have an

The Dem caucuses/primaries in Texas are important only for delegate counts. Texas has always voted GOP except one time for Jimmy Carter. Texas did not complete the redistricting in 2001 as required every ten years. It dragged on until 2004 under now GOP Gov Rick Perry, his legislature, and then GOP House Majority Leader Tom DeLay getting involved. The end result is that the final redistricting put many Hispanic communities into GOP strongholds, and expanded the number of GOP legislators. Many political analysts have described the Texas redistricting as a fiasco!

If I understand well, Mrs. Clinton implies that she never attacked Obama about health care?
Does she really think that voters are too dumb to remember some things she did a week ago?
The issue here is not attacking or enticing one another, but telling and accepting the truth,
i.e. did she or not support NAFTA before condemning it?,
does she or not intend to punish those who will not buy healthcare? (cf. universal mandate).

So apparently you’re not allowed to criticize your opponent’s policies? I could have sworn this was a Presidential election, not a 5-year old’s Little League game.
All we have here is a categorical denial by Hillary that the mailers are true, but absolutely no reasons why. In fact, given her past statements on NAFTA being good for the economy and her healthcare plan garnishing wages, there’s no reason to disbeleive the mailers.
Oddly enough, Clinton responds not by defending her policy weaknesses, but by attacking Obama personally. As a lawyer, this is when you know someone has no defense to the allegations…

J. Lee….the only problem with your derailed train of thought is that the flier didn’t mention any lies. It’s all true. Your candidate Hil-liar-y does support NAFTA and she said herself that she’d garnish wages for people who didn’t buy insurance in her plan. Hillary Clinton has taken more money from Insurance and Pharmaceutical lobbyists than anyone involved in the Presidential race from the start. It’s time for YOU to wake up and realize that the sinking ship you’re going down with is a LYING sinking ship.

The Clinton campaign has engaged in far more vicious and erroneous mailings and e-mails. (Anyone remember the Muslim e-mails, the Bob Kerrey Muslim reference, the constant drug references by various surrogates, the false (and hypocritical) Obama likes Reagan policy claims?) Her complaining about Obama’s mailings is not only hypocritical, it’s selfish and destructive to the Democratic party’s chances in November.
Hillary Clinton continues to reveal herself to be a self-absorbed, calculating, opportunistic politician. She’ll say whatever it takes to win. Her “genuine” moment at the end of the debate was clearly just another campaign tactic. She’s counting on people having too short of an attention span to see the inconsistencies.

Negative campaigning turns the voters off whether it’s from Clinton or Obama so let’s not turn negative. Hillary should be ashamed of herself and her husband for signing N.A.F.T.A. into law. You can’t have it both ways, Hillary. Now you want to help the very people you and Bill put out of work because of N.A.F.T.A. With regard to Hillary’s health care plan, Obama is right about people being fined if they don’t want to or can’t afford to buy health insurance. Just look at the people of Mass. who are fined $650.00 the first year and $1200.00 the second year for not buying mandated health insurance in that state, mainly because they can’t afford it. If Hillary wants to unite the Democratic Party, then she should call it a day and start campaigning for Obama. Hillary is very intelligent but I think her destiny lies as a power broker in the Senate where she can become the heir apparent to Kennedy. The people have and continue to speak loud and clear by their votes for Obama. It’s sad to see Hillary so desperate. She just doesn’t understand that people see her as part of the good old boy (gal) Washington, business as usual, politician and we want change. Voters also see Bill Clinton as a lose cannon who thinks he will be President if Hillary is elected. Bill’s arrogance and temper have hurt Hillary. Their time has passed. It’s time for new blood in Washington and that’s why voters are supporting Obama in such record numbers. Thank you Hillary for everything positive you have done but it’s time to step aside and sooner is better than later.

Obama used two examples to support his judgments in Texas debate last Tuesday. I want to ask him how many senators gave up their voting rights last two years. Obama has 121 no voting record. Obama has no judge at all. If he has excellent judge, why did he give up his judge? His two examples cannot prove anything.

Looks like the only change Obama is about is changing his mind!
All this nosense about dividng the party, this election is about America not just “the party”
Hillary is the TRUE UNIFER of the American people!
Obama’s playing THE OLD political games. I thought he was about change? Obama needs to be put in his place for distributing false information about Hillary. Not only does he not have any experience, but he sure knows how to play both sides of the ethics game.
Obama’s healthcare plan leaves out over 15 million Americans. He is turning out to be dishonest and a manipulator. Wow what a surprise?
Obama is dividing the people. That is very clear. he has Teddy Kennedy pandering to the Unions and playing the same old game of political power promises.
He is pandering the Hispanic community Obama has done NOTHING for the Hispanic community.
Hillary has been helping the Hispanic community in Texas for a very, very long time.
The Hispanic community is voting for Hillary.

Obama just had a press conference where he “calmly” dismissed Ms Clinton’s remarks. He said everything in the mailers is true. He concluded by saying “Hillary is still the champ and needs to be knocked out”. Wow.

Amazing what I’m reading here as usual from the Obama supporters. Sexist remarks about CLAWS coming out again, instead of just saying don’t like her attacks. No must say CLAWS coming out to make sure to inject the sexist remark. Now that’s sure politics of change for the better! What hypocrites!Complaints about her rebutting his arguments in the flier how she’s whining and could have said these things in the debate, while conveniently ignoring that he could have said the things in the fliers in the debates himself. But of course that’s okay because he can do whatever he wants, just so long as he talks like he’s different. What Hypocricy. His actions are speaking much louder than his words. I am a democrat, always have been but I will be voting for John McCain because of Obamas double talk. What garbage. As for the NAFTA flier there is untruth in it-Hillary did not say NAFTA would be a boon, and both the newspaper which printed it and Hillary have stated. Obama knows this but chooses to ignore it an continue to spread lies. Now that’s great CHANGE!!! Hypocrites!!!
Also, let me understand this. Michelle Obama says that she felt like a second-class person at University, discriminated against. That there was and is racism. Yet know we’re suppoused to believe her, her husband Obama, and you his supporters that somehow the MAJORITY of Americans in the so-called red states are going to elect Obama over John McCain. That Obama is more electable than Hillary. Get real here people!!! Either you believe what you say, the same as “proud of being american for the first time in her adult life” and other comments or you don’t. Unless of course you’re not really about change and being different. If you do believe those statements then how can you honestly, rationly believe that Obama is more electable. Its Hypocritical, and you supporters of his are being Hypocrites. Obama will win the nomination because you’ll continue to drink the coolade, and vote strictly on your little fantasies but he will lose, and lose badly in the general election!!! When that happens do the rest of us a favor, do not come on these sites and whine and complain how people said one thing, then did another, how we live in a racially divided country or how the vote was somehow rigged because the polls may have been wrong. You choose to pretend things are one way when they’re not, not our fault. You get what you vote for.

Good for you Hillary! You were attacked by 10 Republican candidates 9 Democrat candidates when you were the front runner! So much for his “phony” politics of change! It is easy for this coward to attack policy attempts that were made 16 years ago by your husband (when the country was in a recession)- FDR said the worst thing that can be done is nothing, YOU have repeatedly said that NAFTA needed and needs to be changed over the course of this campaign. Why doesnt this coward support Universal Health Care? Too tough for him to take it on? The Democratic party used to stand up for Human Rights? When is it good for the President to meet with individuals who have slaughtered, beaten and imprisoned 1000′s? Individuals like Castro, Chavez, Ahkmendenijad – Obama is a disater for the democratic party and the Country – as a Democrat, there is no way I will vote for Obama – McCain looks better by the Day!

Obama said Hillary should be knocked out?

Posted by: lw | February 23, 2008, 4:58 pm 4:58 pm

Hillary’s main objective today was to seem uneasy so she can be her normal manipulating self at the last debate on Feb, 26th. These issues had surfaced way before now and she is so focused on winning at all costs that she doesn’t realize that she just gave Obama the upper hand by holding a press conference to demean her own campaign.
She should just bow out now before she makes herself look more ridiculous.
She can’t accept what she has been trying to dish out all along. She should be focusing on her court case regarding her last campaign running for Senate with Peter Paul.
She should also focus on how she will explain the $5M that she loaned herself. Where are her tax returns???? Did she get the money from the $30M her husband received from the Ukraine connections?
She need to walk away before all of her dirt hits the media!
She cannot run her household nor her own campaign. She overspent supporters money or her own benefit…whose money do you think she will spend if she is in the White House?
Will she give pardons to her brothers like her husband did when he was in office?
This campaign has made her show her true self FINALLY!!!!

Posted by: CN | February 23, 2008, 4:59 pm 4:59 pm

“Why isn’t the liberal media focusing on how Barack Obama is using dirty politics to defame Hillary Clinton? Hillary Clinton is a brave, determined, experienced, gutsy, strong, amazing”
and thats why Hillary has my vote. It is a rediculous “free ride” the media is giving Obama, the media senses a winner and jumps on the Bandwagon. Shame on the News Media.
Feel free to Xerox this.

Phillip—
Do you reALIZE sonny once you consider that you get out of bed daily to go to work to pay for those who do not have healthcare—-mandatory healthcare doesn’t look so bad. Case in point, a Hispanic was in the emergency room a couple of weeks ago with 3 of her 5 children sick, she stated she had no medical coverage, who do you think paid for her services? YOU, I AND EVERYBODY ELSE THAT WORK. I am tired of paying for those leeching off of me, constantly having children while I’m out working.

NAFTA originated under President George H.W. Bush and was signed into law by President Clinton. It took effect under President George W. Bush.
Will Rogers reported that someone asked him why Democrats argue all the time. His answer: “Because they’re Democrats”. Hillary and Obama are really getting nasty toward each other now. Wonder how they will act after the primary. With they kiss and make up or continue to berate each other? I’m sure whoever loses the primary will campaign for the other who will suddenly become a saint.
…..and the beat goes on.

Go way, Hillary. It’s over. What was printed on those flyers is the truth. Anyone can read the fine print of her health care plan for themselves — it mandates coverage, like car insurance, and for better or for worse, such coverage means people will be ‘forced’ to pay, sometimes even if they’d rather not. And she spoke on behalf of NAFTA dozens of time, up until just before her campaign. Look at she words her complaint in this video clip–things like “these pamphlets I was for NAFTA. I am against NAFTA.” Yeah, both are true. She used to be for it, now she’s against it. It doesn’t make it a lie. This is simple campaigning, and Obama has been lot kinder to Hillary than he has needed to be.
Can you imagine four years of this person in the white house?

Hillary was right about one thing, at least: NAFTA was signed into law in December 1992, BEFORE Bill Clinton became president. It was signed by George H. W. Bush, who was still President of the US. Bill Clinton was inaugurated on January 20, 1993. I can see where the confusion lies: Clinton had already won the election, but hadn’t officially taken office yet.

Sen. Clinton is clearly facing a nervous breakdown. She is facing a critical uphill battle infront of her, and she has hit the pedal to the metal trying to race ahead of Sen. Obama. However, I’m afraid she is going to go down in history as the first woman who ran for President in the US. On her arguments about the experience of Obama, I want to say that there’s a first for everything… Without his talent and intelligence I don’t think he would be where is at today… From being no one before the campaign he’s now the people’s choice. Dirty game is a part of every politics.. How did Sen. Clinton reprimand her campaign for stirring up his Muslim roots?? If you look at the trend of Sen. Clinton she is emotionally unstable. She wears her emotions on her sleeves, we sae that in NH. We’re kind of seeing it again today. For Sen. Obama he comes out as a strong stable minded individual. We need a leader who’ll act for the American people and bring stability and positivity to the heart of this country. We don’t need another old Washington mould who will leads this country downhill. I hold no grudges against my grandfathers but time has come that a young blood leads the change from the top. In every aspect of life and at different levels of politics you see that young people have made a difference. They think differently and act differently. After President Kennedy the only person who is gives hope is Sen. Obama… I’d hate to think the worse for Sen. Obama, but, if the democratic does not pick Sen. Obama as their nominee, we’re going to get stuck with another hard headed, war favoring John McCain. I strongly believe that the great USA has spread itself too thin in the world. It’s time to reconsolidate and focus internally and rejuvenate the economy at the grass roots level. I clearly see this happen under Sen. Obama, a new age American revolution that will shape the new world.

Fact Check-Press finds out Obama distorted his example of the soldiers using Taliban weapons and he lied about specifics!
Why is it when many Obama supporters are asked what his policies are they cant answer?
Better yet, how come Obama himself cant answer with details. He drastically distorted that story about the soldiers taking Taliban weapons. The story facts were checked by the press and they found out Obama twisted around the story to fit his agenda. Obama has NOT bothered to visit the troops. He needs to put actions where his big mouth is. I dont trust this guy to run the country.
And his wife’s comments- No I do NOT think she is first Lady material.

Christine,
I couldn’t agree with you more. I too will most likely vote for Hillary as a write-in if she doesn’t win the primary. I listened to a supporter of Hillary who happened to be a black female legislator from Ohio. I believe she was one of the super-delegates. She told the black women that they needed to wake up to the issues facing women, earning 70 cents on the dollar to men, child care, etc. She also mentioned that there are blacks in positions of power and those who are super-delegates who have had to change their phone numbers because of threats against them if they don’t support Obama. We as women are poorly represented in our government. We will never have true equality until we get equal representation. Unfortunately one of our biggest obstacles is not only men, it is other women. Women not only had to battle men for the right to vote they also had to battle other women who didn’t want them to have that right. I think this is why the older women are for Hillary, we haven’t forgotten how far we have come and how far we have to go. Women were responsible for leading the crusade to abolish slavery. When women were fighting for the right to vote they asked for the help of Fredrick Douglas who was famous for giving fiery speeches before the legislature even though he was a black man. Douglas refused to speak on behalf of the women saying, “this day belongs to the black man”. The women simply replied, “what about the black women?” Our country has come a long way in the way women are treated but other counties have left us in the dust when it comes to having women in government. All the enlightened men in the world can represent us but only another women knows what it is like to walk in our shoes. Following is a list of female representation in other countries and where we stand:

People should really look at him and realize he will jeopardize this country. Bad enough that Bush demolished it. Besides why do we want someone who doesn’t even pay respects to the flag. He talk about our soldiers yet, he refuses to salute the flag. Is this who we want for President…. We really don’t know anything about the man.

I’ve noticed Barack hasn’t kicked up any dust about the new 527′s set up by Hillary loyalists to bring him down.
These mailings are nothing new and Hillary knew about them for sometime and hadn’t had a public hissy fit until now. You got to give her credit for knowing how to play the game, she won’t be put away by this upstart without a fight to the death. She feels she is entitled to the nomination …this is not how the script was written (Bush,Clinton,Bush,Clinton).
During the debate she was gracious and magnanimous, but apparently that was all calculated to set up this latest bit of desperation to give us the impression that Obama had betrayed her, his principles and the Democratic party. How sad, I hope her ruse backfires big time.

Since George Washington there has been a lot of speeches from more than we can count Candidates. Reagans trickle down effect, not knew. There was a speech BEFORE THE DEPRESSION. I need to locate it though. But I was shocked that Reagan did not give credit to that candidate who ran for the presidency before the depression whose speech was about the TRICKLE DOWN EFFECT. Ofcourse as we all know GREED does take over, so the trickle down effect is and always will be a BIG 0 ZERO.

Private insurance companies? The drug companies? The Republicans? Where is Arlen Specter with his funny looking graphic chart to make a joke out of the plan? Did he and others laugh about such an attempt to cover the less fortunate while they received Mayo checkups, cancer surgery and treatments, and heart disease? Harry and Louise should be ashamed of themselves, and so should Obama.

We should seek to know what and where the issue is. The questions that need to be raised are the following:Is that Nafta true it can be verified on google and then how positive or negative is it for our society.I did not appreciate those attacking the personality of the candidates instead of having a reaction on the issue.Sometimes we tend to forget why we should vote, and we seek to turn it to something negative which should not be. These primaries are really instructive because i am not from the USA and i know that something positive will come out of this

What kind of gamesmanship is this, Hillary?? Do you have the courage to clearly and unambiguously state your position on health care, as has Obama?

NAFTA, anyone? You can find anything you want at most of the US stores. Most of it, mind you, will come from China (in Asia) which does not care about the environment, nor their cheap laborers who have to apply the lead paint and dangerous chemicals for the products and food they ship to the US. US companies love to import cheap Chinese products, because they can make a lot of money from them. Oh, yes, then there is Mexico (in North America) which follows the same pattern, paying their citizens such low wages and benefits that they have to escape to the US where companies have been using them for years to cut their labor cost and benefits. Free trade is only good when it is reciprocal, and when both countries use environmentally safe practices and products and treat their people humanely. It is time to reevaluate NAFTA to ensure that we have a fair playing field. Some measures must be enforced. American workers can do any job that is needed. American companies can quit taking their businesses overseas, or be fined and penalized. We are all in this together, and we can sink or swim together. The greed can be stopped, and fairness can be the rule. Where did I hear all of this? Of course, I read and listen, but, I heard it from Hillary. She will correct the problems and get us back to our manufacturing base.
Elect Hillary! She’s a fighter!

Obama said that he would cut money benefited to poor persons who need warfare supports and send there money to middle class. If poor persons have no money to support their basic living expense, America will become unstable. More criminal events (robbing, murdering and stealing will happen) will happen.

Finally! Take him on on his hypocrisy! He talks all the time of the “politics of old”, “the politics of destruction”, and how he wants to rise above that and have “substantive” debate. Then he sends out mailers with misstatements, lies meant to mislead people about Sen. Clinton’s positions. HE IS NOT THE CHANGE HE HAS BEEN WAITING FOR. Oh, and stay tuned for the re-emergence of TONY REZKO. Sen. Obama is a political pied piper, and he should be CALLED on it.
His wife had a major Freudian slip for the both of them when she said that she is JUST NOW proud of her country. What, only now that your HUSBAND might get the nomination? What kind of standard is that? For more on her narrow view of our country, please see her senior thesis.
Obama IS NOT the right guy for the nomination! Don’t be mislead. Be careful of following the crowd… right off a cliff! Wake up America!!

I am relieved that Sen. Obama finally addressed the fallacy of Sen. Clinton’s universal’ health care plan. Forcing people to buy coverage they cannot afford is not universal coverage, it is universal gauging, and I am glad Obama is bringing that detail into the open to be discussed.
Claiming his criticism is false is another instance of her misrepresenting the issues at hand. Sen. Clinton wastes her time, and ours, on silly accusations about Obama not giving credit to his advisor who counseled him to use a specific quote in a speech, thus infering that all of Obama’s speeches are just ‘Xerox’ copies of others’ words. Shame on you, Hillary for trying to contaminate Sen. Obama’s fresh, honest and insightful speeches with that leap of your imagination and desperation. If anyone deserves an apology, it is Sen. Obama. And I thank him for checking Sen. Clinton’s facts and forcing truth to be told, again.

As one old enough to remember it clearly, NAFTA was a popular idea among most republicans and democrats. In fact similar trade deals among eastern asian powers scared us into wanting NAFTA. Sure there were unions and some politicos screaming foul, but overall American opinion supported it at the time because we were afraid NOT to, so blame yourselves first if you don’t like it. Although I’m a democrat, we must also remember that the American public overwhelmingly supported going into Iraq as well…because we were afraid of WMD’s. If we the people quit being we-the-easily-frightened-into-making-the-bad-decision we’d have better government. Right now I trust Obama because he has little experience and isn’t as well polished in the arts of duck and cover and twist and turn as McCain and Hillarly are. I like true-believerism and vision, I’ll go with Obama.

I am watching the super delegates, people who know what is going on behind the scenes, bail on Hillary left and right. These are folks who know her for what she is:
Power hungry, back stabbing, ruthless, lying….
She has shown through her lack of integrity and angry outbursts that she will polarize this nation and the world even worse than the current situation.
Read what some of the international journalists are saying!

The only reason Obama has been successful is media supporting him 100%. Once the media turns negative he is toast.
Obama bever faced a serious opponent.Running in heavily Democratic Chicago, Obama never faced a significant Republican foe in his state Senate races. In his U.S. Senate race, the original Republican nominee dropped out, and GOP leaders brought in commentator Alan Keyes from Maryland. Keyes had little money and managed to alienate voters from both parties. Years earlier, Obama got his first opponents knocked off the ballot. He challenged the petition signatures that three rivals filed, and election officials concluded he was the only one with the proper paperwork, leaving him unopposed in the 1996 Democratic primary.

I have said this 1000 times before. It will all come down to whomever the MEDIA decides will win the election. Plain and simple.

That was internet and tech jobs, which 11 million was lost when the tech bubble burst. Sort of like what’s happening now in the Bush administration with the housing bubble.

What desperation. The more ground she loses, the more Senator Clinton feels she must attack. My respect for Hillary gets lower each week this campaign continues.
When she says “I am fighting to change NAFTA,”, does she expect everyone to forget that NAFTA was instituted after her husband, Bill Clinton made its passage a major legislative priority in 1993? She did not express any disapproval with specifics of NAFTA until she was politically necessitated to do so for her presidential candidacy. Hillary is trying to take too many sides on this issue at once.
She should concentrate on her strengths, not remain fixated on threats and aggression. Are Hillary and her campaign manager’s really this out of touch?

Posted by: Troisième Sarabande | February 23, 2008, 6:06 pm 6:06 pm

“Obama’s use of the citation in this way does strike us as misleading. The quote marks make it look as if Hillary said “boon,” not us. It’s an example of the kind of slim reeds campaigns use to try to win an office.”

Hillary is a big supporter of LaRaza and will destroy the USA with massive illegal immigration and insane benefits to illegal aliens. NAFTA was the start of the chipping away of our jobs and prosperity. We all know that Hillary is not going to help the American people by stopping NAFTA and the exporting of our jobs as Obama will. She knows she can count on the 50% of blind Democrats that will vote for her no matter what and count on the Hispanic votes to push her through. So many dumb Dems have been that way for years (blindly following Dems who make empty promises) and that is why we are having our problems.

So let me get this straight.
Hillary Clinton’s campaign can put out these hit pieces but when another campaign does it to her, it is an outrage?
Hillary Clinton can laugh in the debate in reference to her husband cheating on her and yet is outraged by an opposing campaign putting out flyers against her?
Listening her today go through that tirade made me recoil.
Another bad campaign strategy.

I suppose she decided now is the time to “lash out” – what an opportunist.

Oh well … I don’t know what to think of these candidates anymore. Obama, Clinton, McCain, even Huckabee — they all have some flaws. That’s what makes them human and infallible. I saw Thursday’s Democratic debate and it all seemed so civil, but I guess now it’s back to hard ball politics as usual. I can say one thing: a cool temperament is one laudable trait of a world leader, one who constantly faces all sorts of slings and arrows. I saw a cool temperament in Ronald Reagan, even though I never voted for him. I’ve seen it in Barack Obama during the campaign, including today when he defended the mailers. But today I didn’t see it in Hillary Clinton.

They refuse to ask Obama the hard questions, they refuse to look at his background and they continuously praise him for just being Obama! Are you aware of the dirty pool that Obama played on the woman that was running against him for the senate. Obama doesn’t like America like you think. When he won the senate seat he was already planning to run for president. All Obama wants is to make history and forget about the American people. Yet, the dummies who voted for him can’t see thru him but it shows and he can never fool me. Hillary is right. Words said should be your own words and not someone elses. But he doesn’t have the capabilities to do that. He is a dummie thru and thru. He would be a president in name only white Patrick would be calling the shots. Wake up and think before you vote. Watch him carefully when he’s walking and talking on the platform. If he wants to be like JFK, RFK and MLK why then don’t he join them.

This has been the one and only trick of this slick snake oil salesman called Obama.
He is so cool, he is above petty politics, he has superior virtues and Hillary is an evil person filled with poor qualities.
This is consistent with his track record of not doing anything legislatively both in the IL legislature and in the US senate or anywhere.
He was always writing books, promoting himself as a poster boy, running for higher office all the time claiming all through this that his politics is different.
The only problem is there’s no evidence he actually practiced this unique art of politics!

The Clinton’s are rich with 40 or 50 million or maybe more. The bank would take her check immediately without a doubt but turn poor Obama down. Now since she got 15 million in donations or more she doesn’t have to take a loan of her own money. Hillary and Romney had the most money of their own of all the candidates. Myth:
We’ve come a long way baby.
Clinton gets slammed repeatedly by the Obama machine, media whose reporting is so blatantly biased it’s embarrassing to watch and blogs like most I’ve read on the web that are so personal and so hateful they leave many of us to wonder and worry about the mothers, wives, partners and daughters of the people who write them.
The misogyny we’re witnessing in this countryis as disturbing as racism is/was in the civil rights era.

Let say Hillary and Obama came to apply for a job, a president position, will you pick the one who never had any experience in Economic or you would rather pick the one with experience. I saw Hillary be attacked a lot, but nobody is perfect, please get real, I don’t believe that Obama will give you everything that he said, talker and doer are never the same person, if he is that good, I am going to vote for him myself.
When people asked him about the experience, his campaign said, someone who worked with Clinton before will become his advisor, but Obama never gave any good credit to Clinton of the surplus budget and full employment, he admired Reagan, so why he wanted to pick Clinton’s ex staff to work for him.
Media please be careful to give both an equal chance, I don’t watch your channel so much like before, it is not fair to Hillary, try to think aabout this country first instead of your bugdet or rating. Do you want another 7 yrs of deficit and job lost and recession.
I can say that Obama is very skilful by never giving any credit to the prosperous time at Clinton’s administration, but he is not very truthful that he was not impressed, during that years, he got good job and earned good income, and he didn’t even arreciate for that, I know because he can’t say the truth. I will vote for Republican if he is a nominee.

Peter,
If people come to apply for a job, I’d rather train good people who don’t have the skills, instead of the bad people who have the skills.
On the other hand, you can’t convince me for a minute, that Hillary is more experienced than Obama. Being married to someone doesn’t give her any experience. Being on Wal-Mart board is not counted as presidential experience. Being a lawyer is not counted either. Laura Bush has the same or more experience than Hillary, by your logic.

“Enough” said, “The misogyny we’re witnessing in this countryis as disturbing as racism is/was in the civil rights era.” Wow, Enough, is it possible that people dislike Hillary because her mistruth, such as 35-years of bogus experience, denying she praized NAFTA, sending bimbo squad to intimidate women Bill dated or raped, can remember anything when Ken Starr asked, or her Cattle Futures, etc. etc.
It is very interesting you said Obama got free pass because he is black, while you attribute freely Hillary’s unpopularity to her gender. If Obama shouldn’t get a free pass because of his race, your Hillary shouldn’t get a free pass because of her gender.
And this person with such zero integrity, I really don’t care if she is a woman or man, black or white, she is just a disgrace of human being!

Don’t worry Hillary come November we will rally behind Sen. Barack Obama. He has been consistent in his words and actions but you Hillary…..sadly, I’m starting to believe the people who say you’ll do or say anything for a vote.
Sen. Barack Obama was right back then and he’s right now, we should have never taken our eyes off Afganistan and attacked Iraq and Hillary you are as responsible for that as Bush. Hillary still doesn’t “get it” and seriously thought her coronation was a formality.
Of course, now Sen. Clinton is trying to find excuses why she agreed to support “Bushes war” but it’s too late. There is no reason good enough to cause this kind of mistake where death has come to so many Americans and Iraqi, alike.
In the words of the late Molly Ivins, journalist and columnist from Texas in a 2006 article intitled, “I Will Not Support Hillary Clinton for President”:
Quote:
“Sen. Clinton is apparently incapable of taking a clear stand on the war in Iraq, and that alone is enough to disqualify her.”
Your solutions Hillary seem to make bigger problems and more damage to so many lives.

To: excellente360, Laurel, Shelgiel and xastrid3 on Michelle Obama comments
While I may agree with some of your thoughts on the life experiences of African-Americans, you seem like getting overly sensitive on the topic and missing my point.
My post was not a personal attack, but a political view of how Michelle Obama comments are/will be used by the Republicans to rally their conservative base with John McCain as a candidate.
xastrid3 please explain: “The fact is, you simply can’t understand that point of view because you’re on the outside looking in. People, no matter who they are, tend to incorrectly label things they don’t understand.”
I have 2 more quotes from Obama Thesis:
“Obama writes that the path she chose by attending Princeton would likely lead to her “further integration and/or assimilation into a white cultural and social structure that will only allow me to remain on the periphery of society; never becoming a full participant.”"
“I hoped that these findings would help me conclude that despite the high degree of identification with whites as a result of the educational and occupational path that black Princeton alumni follow, the alumni would still maintain a certain level of identification with the black community. However, these findings do not support this possibility.”

It is Hillary who started to defame and undermine and defame another democrat.

ironroof post: “Under ten years of Bill Clinton, the NAFTA was there and there are 23 millions jobs created and people were happy. Now, Obama brought up the NAFTA as a bad thing. What the heck is Obama thinking? Since Obama may loose Texas and Ohio, he started to play dirty old politic now. Is that what he is against?” I am strongly agreed. The majority benefits of NAFTA (between US, Mexican and Canada) are America. While the job lost to China, India is the fault of Bush Policy. They are focus only fighting the terrorists but ignoring the economy. This dummy head is shooting its own party in order to get elected. Shame on you, Mr. Obama. I will vote for John McCain defintely if you wins the DEM nomination.

Did NAFTA helping Mexican, Canada more than US? I guess no, otherwise why Latinos risk their lives coming to US? Use your brains, dumb and liberal heads.

I really do not get. Why Hillary went nuts? She has the nerve to ask since when dem criticize dem on health care. She has short memory. She has been doing it for month last Tuesday on the debate. She went over and over and over again with her health care plan and criticize Obama’s health care plan.
Like i said she memory problem. Because she kept on forgot what stand for. She vote for the war later she said ” If i knew than what i know now i would not vote as i did” ( she is against the war today)
In her book she said that NAFTA was one of the Clinton’s administration successes. She realized Ohio and Win would not be easy for she claimed that she will block NAFTA. I wonder how she would do that. When she is taking money from those company to run her campaign.
Hey Clinton remember they always say that your pass will hunt you. Now it your turn you pass is hunting you now.
Deal with it. Stop blaming other.
On more thing for the Hillary’s supporter
She has been in the Senate for year now. Why she never come with a bill to renegotiate NAFTA if she knows there is a problem with it.
This what i call all talk an no substance.

Finally Hillary is telling us the inside details of change . She has been slammed by the media for no reason other than to throw the election the way they want it to go. We are not stupid voters and are more than tired of their reporting tactics. Hillary has earned her right to be the president of this country and we definitely do not want another president with an on the job learning need.

Posted by: pat | February 24, 2008, 6:59 am 6:59 am

Hillary started with the negative campaign…Hillary is just getting a little of her own medicine.
The good thing is that she does not discriminate…it is Obama; it is Bush; it is McCain.
Now Hillary and Bill are crying about it!!!! that is not presidential.

Posted by: GLO | February 24, 2008, 9:42 am 9:42 am

It was amusing to read the article, Hillary should realize that she is not Obama’s mother to scold him… If the fire is so intense for Hillary, she should not be in the race. Hillary started the negative campaign and now she cannot take it….Just hope that Hillary does not start crying again because too many tears is not a sign of being human, but of being a sore, frustrated politician.
Too many debates, too often become boring considering that there was nothing new discussed in the last one.

Posted by: GLO | February 24, 2008, 10:10 am 10:10 am

Obama promised that he did not play negative campaign. He won’t play old politic. Now, he could loose Texas and Ohio, he broke his promise. Like Hillary said, shame on you Obama. I want to see Hillary to expose his campaign strategy in Cleveleand debate, to see who is dirtier that who. Michelle Obama already said, politic is a game. Let see how many Obama’s supporters would open their eyes.

Posted by: ironroof | February 24, 2008, 10:53 am 10:53 am

Obama’s experience is a blank sheet comparing to Hillary. Obama brought up the Iraq war and her failures to say that we don’t need experienced people to run the White House. But, statistic always proved that the inexperienced ones most likely to make mistakes and more severe that the experience person. Obama most likely will make more mistakes than Hillary down on the road. It is why people always preferred to hire experienced people on the important job.
Obama is giving people dreams and hopes but he did not have much ideas of how to achieve them or just false impressions. Only a few months in the campaign, Obama already broke his biggest promise of not playing old politic, under the pressure of winning Texas and Ohio. It is the reason why he won Ted Kenney support. So, what Obama would do if he is under much and much greater pressure as a president? Will Obama fail people as Jimmy Carter over the Iran hostage situation many years ago? Will Obama put Americans in disgrace as J.F.K over Cuba when he had an unrealistic dream and being defeated by Cuba people? Would Obama plunge US into another war as the inexperienced president – J. Bush?

I agree that sending jobs to other lands is a bad thing, but disagree with your argument.
Do you know what those poor, third-world countries think of the “slave labor?” They’re actually happy to have jobs. They don’t feel betrayed by America because they work for peanuts. They’re just happy to be working.
Those sweat shops in foreign lands provide opportunities that the workers wouldn’t otherwise have. The cost of living isn’t what it is in Manhattan, NY, thus the workers don’t require as much pay to live what, in their respective country, is considered a decent life.
Besides, America’s desire for low prices drives those jobs elsewhere.

Carolyn, It is people like you that takes away the whole purpose of our democratic right to vote. For you republicans to vote for Obama just so your candidate would have a chance is a disgrace to everything our Founding fathers stood for. Republicans did the same thing in Iowa, but in the end Sen. Clinto will win. Democrats wise up to what the Republicans are doing to our candidates. Sen Clinton supporters will write her name on the ballot and then we will see who has the last laugh. We will see you in the White House.

I love it that Hillary is finally getting angry with the neo-messiah Barack Obama. His revival-meeting messages are soothing to the masses. They ask for no substance from him, he gives none then he passes the hat and he goes on to the next town. Those that listen to him are left with words and magical thinking that he can wave his magic wand and make the U.S. boatload of troubles disappear.
Hillary is the only one who has the intellect and ability to get health care for everyone passed. She was way ahead of her time when she, rightfully, tried to do it before. Nafta is not a bad thing – Americans want low prices and it is true that our market demands fuel the need for low paying factory jobs overseas. We in the U.S. work tirelessly to improve factory conditions abroad and many have improved relative to overseas economies. Sure we still must do more – so must the owners of these factories – and we will.
Sen. Obama’s religious-like cadences are built on a very thin resume. For Commander-in-Chief I want someone skilled in foreign affairs, for U.S. President I want someone who can actually do good things for Americans including getting bills written and passed. Sen. Obama cannot do that. And through his distortion of Sen. Clinton’s record via his mailings he shows his true political colors. He learned politics in Illinois and, mark my words, the only thing Sen. Obama wants is power. Nothing more.

We need Senator Obama as a new President of this great Country. I am a Veteran. I know.

Dieter if you are a vet of the military then how can you stand by someone who willn’t wear a flag pin representing our country, much less raise his hand to his heart for the pledge of allegiance? Our men and women wear a flag every day of their lives on their sleeves w/pride and honor when they put that uniform on. Is he that ashamed of our country to give a crappy reason of why he won’t wear one? My point, ABSOLUTELY NO EXCUSE is good enough for me or my husband who serves proudly for the last 18 yrs in the Army. For any of you to say Sen. Clinton doesnt care about the military you are farthest from the truth. I am sick of all the attacks on her. Does it scare you because she is a strong, independant woman who thinks on her own? For anyone to say she is not capable of running our country you are fooling yourself. She is not perfect, nor is any of the Presidents before her. When it comes to knowledge of this country she can put most of the men before her to shame. My husband has even said himself that he would proudly serve her as Commander in Chief. He is not afraid to serve a women. Woman are good enough to give you men lives, then they are good enough to run our country God created for all of us, MEN AND WOMEN!

I don’t understand how someone who places his hand on his chest while the national anthem is sung is more patriotic than the one who doesn’t. These are symbolism. Let’s not tear ourselves apart over such silliness. It is precisely this kind of “hollier than thou” attitude by the likes of Sweetness that has brought so much of divisiveness in this country. Let’s argue over policies and programmes, actions and inactions and not on who is more patriotic and who is not based on symbolic gestures.

I FEEL THAT HILLARY SHOULD COME OUT AGAINST THE OBAMA FLIERS. SHE THOUGHT HE HAD ENOUGH DECENCY TO HAVE REMOVED THEM FROM CIRCULATION AFTER SHE POINTED OUT THAT HE WAS DEFNITELY WRONG. BUT MR. OBAMA ISN’T THAT NICE, HE LOOKS HIS NOSE DOWN AT HILLARY AND EVERYONE ELSE! HE IS NICE TO THEIR FACE BUT BEHIND THEIR BACKS WATCH OUT! SHE NEEDS TO COME OUT FIGHTING WITH THIS NEXT DEBATE, SHOW HER EMOTIONS AND HER FEELINGS. IT’S OKAY TO TEAR OBAMA DOWN AND POINT OUT THE CRAP ABOUT THE FALSE HOPE HE IS PREACHING ABOUT. AS FAR AS HER USING JOHN EDWARDS’S WORDS SHE PROMISED JOHN EDWARDS THAT SHE WOULD INCLUDE HIS IDEAS INTO HER CAMPAIGN. I SUPPOSE OBAMA DID TOO BUT THAT DIDN’T REALLY MEAN ANYTHING TO HIM. OBAMA IS BETTER AT USING HIS FRIENDS WORDS. I WONDER HOW MANY OTHER’S HE HAS LIFTED. DOES HE HAVE A MIND OF HIS OWN? HILLARY IS FISTY AND SHE CAN ARGUE THE FACTS BETTER THAN MOST, LET’S SEE HER DO IT AT THIS NEXT DEBATE. LET’S SEE THE CLAWS COME OUT, IT’S ABOUT TIME! EVEN IF THE AUDIENCE BOOS HER WHAT DOES IT MATTER NOW? LET THEM SEE HER GOOD POINTS AND HIS BAD ONE’S FOR A CHANGE. SHE’S PLAYED NICE LONG ENOUGH. IF THEY WANT TO VOTE FOR OBAMA THEY NEED TO LOOK INTO HIS BACKGROUND INSTEAD OF FOLLOWING BLINDLY LIKE SHEEP. I THOUGHT AMERICA WAS SMARTER THAN THAT BUT I WAS WRONG.

Watching a video clip on the internet, when Obama tried to blow his nose with the microphone close to the nose for whatever his intention was. But when he blew it, the sound amplified through the microphone and people just rallied and chanting him for the act. It is disgusting and I think it is really a cult or something. He should run as a rock star rather than running as a president.

Barack and Nichelle Obama are big crybabies.. I can’t believe Michelle had the audacity to say this is the firt time in her life she is proud of her country.. Does she think that’s going to make her a first lady or a first STUPID. Barack cries every time someone brings up something he done and the NEDIA is so BIASED they cover it up as soon as they can and badmouth Senator Clinton every time they turn around … I have never seen a Media so biased… Tere is no fairness with this media reporting… My hope is that AMERICA wakes up before it’s too late….Senator Clinton is the very best choice for this country in the shape that we are in and people need to realize this…. Come on America what is going on here. You are being duped by Obama and his high rolling staff. Just because he has more money doesn’t make him the best candidate or because he can take everything he hears and turn and twist it around to his advantage make him a good candidate to run this country…….We need someone with expreience to run this country in this very critical time … What about his dealings with dirty politicians , and why was there not more said about
mr. goody goody that paid for his 650,000 dollar lot and another 500,000.00, on his house for the dirty work he performed for him.??????

Think of it Sen. Clinton is running scared and trying to turn the same tactics on him as she has one in the past. She cried about him quoteing words from many black and white people in history, Someone tell me when you make a quote becomes plegerism? What now we can’t say words that mean something to people and that have been used many times.Clinton keeps speaking on her knowledge and experience but I say what experience? Niether one of the Candidate have any kind of experience on running a country hell a mayor has more then both of them. Oh I know what she’s saying she was there when her husband made deals. But she didn’t know of all his doings. She need to come up with a diffrent tactic. She will loose in ohio and Texas and when she does like the sore looser that she is she’ll say ” he manipulated the black vote, whats wronge with black people voteing for a black candidate? Whites have been doing it for centries. When Obammas wife said for the first time in her adault life she feels like an American but this is critizied by people who have never had to feel any diffrence because they have always been treated like they belonged. We live in a fantasy world where we all believe ther is no prejudicy in this world.
