Dodd to Endorse Obama
ABC News’ Sunlen Miller Reports: Senator Chris Dodd, D-Conn., will endorse Senator Barack Obama, D-Illi., today, according to a source within the Obama campaign.
Dodd is slated to appear jointly with Obama to make the formal announcement at a 9:30 am press availability in Cleveland, Ohio.
The former presidential candidate showed signs of a possible endorsement in Connecticut on Monday when he said, according to the Associated Press, “Eleven contests. My hope is that we’ll get closure on this pretty quickly,” but stopped short of an endorsement.
Dodd, who dropped out of the presidential race on January 3rd after the Iowa caucus , is a superdelegate who’s support will likely give Obama a boost going into the Ohio and Texas primaries, just one week away.

Big deal, he needs all the support he can get. The focus is now on Nader, finally an independant jumps in to throw the democratic election. Bush is right, a Republican will be in office for four more, thanks Obama.

At this point I really don’t care what happens in this election, am getting so tired of the Clinton this and Clinton that. How can any voter make a decision on who is the best candidate when the media coverage is so lopsided.
If the media wants Obama to face McCain let them deal with that when the time comes, after they have pushed the Obama line down everyones neck for months they may well end up in a position where they have placed MaCain in a position where he cant stop him in the end.
That will give me pleasure in watching, if that was the media’s game plan it may well end up back firing on them, they built up his momentum, now its like a runaway train, so I will sit this election out and watch the fun and games from the side lines.

Louise: “This primary season has been nothing more than a popularity contest…..I say we raise the voting age….The fact that this Obama idiot has gotten this far is proof that we need to raise it!!!”
You mean we should raise it high enough so as to exclude Sen Dodd?

SJ – Why do you think the media coverage has been so lopsided?
I think it has something to do with 1) Hillary coming into this campaign as a known attack dog, who ran the White House political war room during an impeachment, and 2) her campaign’s heavy handed dealing with the media.
The first makes her a vulnerable candidate. The second makes me question her staff’s competence.

Bishop – actually I’ve never heard anyone claim he didn’t write Audacity of Hope. However, its well known that Clinton had a ghost writer who did the bulk of It Takes a Village.
That’s not conspiracy theory. The woman’s identity is widely known, and the flap over her not even being named on the cover as a co-author is well documented in Wikipedia.

Si Se Puede…Now if Johnny Edwards would just return to the sandbox with all the toys, perhaps we can all play. Most people know if Edwards campaign had a drop of truth there is only one endorsement he can go with…unless Hillary promised the ranch!!!

The fight for the Democratic nomination is no longer a battle over issues. Anyone who has objectively paid attention to the candidates knows where they stand on the issues. This has become a personal attack by Hillary on Obama with her supporters following suit. Just because I don’t vote for her, doesn’t mean I am a “Hillary hater”–I intended to vote for her at one time, but now I can’t. Being President is a very stressful job, and her behavior in the past week has convinced me that she would not be able to handle the pressures of being President. And this has nothing to do with gender–I would feel that way about Obama if he were on the same emotional merry-go-round.I hope she can keep it together during the debate and not embarrass herself further. She has a lot to offer this country–just not as President.

This is not news. Dodd supported him during the Conn. primary. This is just political timing. I always liked Dodd. It is unfortunate that he is a man of his word. Why? Because he is now stuck to someone who is finally being scrutinized and the results are not good. Examples: The 19 year relationship with Rezko. (His bail was revoked because of his connection with a Middle East billionaire Adhmi.) Also, more information is coming out about the reverend of Obama’s church and the association with Farrakhan. In addition, Obama is known to have received donations from William Ayers when first running for office. (William Ayers is the founder of the notorious “Weathermen”. Ayers and Dohrn are best known as two of the most notorious figures during the 1960 anti-war movement. Is Obama guilty by association or simply has been very naive

And you people believe this rot? This guy is an empty suit, nothing but change when we are sitting in rubble from some new threat, the same people will call for his head.
In years to come you will find that JOe Biden will look real good. The left gets what it deserves to bad it takes the country along with it. Albeit I doubt this empty suit will stand up to Mac.

Paul my view is that the media favored Obama because they want to help McCain thinking that is the easier candidate to beat especially at first when Hillary had all the support.
Due to the media constant attacks and highlights of every thing that Hillary has said or done she has taking a beating at the polls, but I believe that the media has underestimated the problems they have created in this.
What they have done is pushed Obama into a position where the public is now drunk on it, and in the end whenever the media decides to try to turn the screws on Obama to assist McCain it may well be to late for that. The media in trying to assist McCain has now drowned him with the Obama wave, its too late to turn back the clock now they caused it so whatever happens in this election I hope they are all willing to live with it for the next 4 years.

I was a Dodd supporter until he unfortunately dropped out after Iowa. I’m still depressed that his campaign never made it beyond the 2nd tier.
I spoke to Senator Dodd a week ago and suspected that he was headed in this direction. At that time I didn’t care who won. I just knew that I would vote for whomever was the nominee. Now, because my respect for Chris Dodd is infinite, I am officially on the Obama train.

What you are seeing is a media which really has no opinion as such, but where
individual analysts and reporters are acting basing on their personal sympathies. This problem is compounded that many of them are not precisely interlectual Einsteins!
As consequence, taking as example CNN,
yo can read in the blog continuous complaints of supporters from ANY candidate saying they are favoring another, and that their posts to the blogs are supressed due to these biases.
The latter is unfortunately true, depending in each case of whom is doing the “moderation” !!!
BUT THERE IS ONE ISSUE WHERE ALL THE MEDIA AGREES !! TO TRY TO PROLONGATE THE SUSPENSE, EVEN IF THE GAME IS OVER. OF COURSE, SUSPENSE MEAN MORE
SALES FOR THEM !!
THE BLAH-BLAH REGARDING “COME BACK KID”
REGARDING HILLARY, WHO ALREADY LOST UNLESS OBAMA IS HIT BY A FALLING PIANO,

They say the people usually get the government they deserve, but honestly I really don’t feel I deserve Obama 08.

While Hillary flays around trying to find something to attack she needs to understand that the world is watching.
On Obama’s site there are comments from people in England, France and Germany expressing their unhappiness that they cannot contribute to the Obama campaign.
When they can’t they leave messages about how much they want to see Obama as the next Commander in Chief.

President Barack Obama will restore America’s esteem in the world. The world is already in love with him. They are cheering for him in Europe in Africa in Asia in South America.
After 8 years of the current administration stirring up record anti-Americanism and tarnishing our global standing, Barack Obama represents a wonderful opportunity for America to be loved again.

seriously.. Hilary has lost it. She is an emotional wreck now. I’ve been an Obama supporter for a while, but always in the back of my mind try to stay open and see if there was something i wasn’t considering in regards to Clinton’s candidacy. And the one thing that i haven’t been able to get past is.. SHE CAN’T ANSWER A QUESTION! And if the question is about her? or HER ideas? the answer is about Barack. I just want to know where SHE is coming from. She just won’t answer a freaking question! Everything she has had to say is scripted.. and if the question doesn’t fit her scripted answer, she just plows right through. its all way way to calculating. and now, with her daily melt down.. it just scares the heck out of me to think of her in the Oval Office. She can’t take it… the pressure. as we all know, there are kids who just “take a good test” but can’t do anything with it beyond the classroom. I suspect that is Hilary.

They ignore the fact that Hillary spoke in New Orleans and in DC giving very important talks about REAL issues. Plus, she has gotten endorsements from national heroes such as John Glenn, and strong women such as Maya Angelou and Ellen Degeneres which are much more important that Dodd any day. Strong women everywhere unite for Hillary! HILLARY 2008!!!

Sorry to say but:
Hillary is living up to what people have always believed about women. Her claws are out, MEOOOOOOW!!! when it comes to a fight. She is not helping herself. She is way off the point of why she is running. She is spending more time in the attack mode than she is discussing the real issues such as this sorry situation that Bush has gotten us in and the sorry economic situation that Bush has also put us in.
Obama ALL THE WAY. “YES WE CAN”
WE NEED CHANGE AND HE IS THE ONE TO DO IT!

Dodd’s reasons for endorsing Obama now, and talking about the division of the party and coming together? Isn’t he the one in an earlier debate who said that Hillary was not electable? Was that an attempt to match Obama saying she is not trustworthy? Isn’t he a close friend of Ted Kennedy who got Obama in the race to begin with? There, now we have three northeastern liberals (Kennedy, Kerry, and Dodd) who must not like white southern men (Bill Clintom, Jimmy Carter, and Al Gore) who were nominated and were elected President. Kennedy, Kerry, and Dodd are the also-rans who do not want to see a woman in the White House. And what about that picture of Obama in Muslim dress? They fear he is being picked on? By whom, his own camp who wants more feigned bias like the race card they pulled before the South Carolina Primary?
If Dodd thinks that all the Democrats who support Hillary are going to throw in the towel and support Obama, he is dreaming. They can pick and preen any candidate they want, but, it does not make all the rest of us gullible and ready to make unwise choices. We listen to the debates, read and study the issues, and we are not buying it. Democratic values matter, but, not at the expense of choosing someone so inexperienced and unprepared as Obama. George Bush’s first four years in the White house were a hard lesson. The last 3-4 years even harder. Keep it up Hillary! You are the best candidate in the race. Let the rest of the states decide, then let the “wisdom” of the party elders face the music and show us how wise they are.
It could be a prelude to formation of another party or a write-in vote!

it doesn’t bother you that Hilary is all over the place? that she changes her story on everything .. all it takes is a POLL? and doesn’t bother you that she was just so freaking WRONG ON THE WAR? and on NAFTA? and on the IRAN ARMY AS A TERRORIST group? i just keep thinking… she has all that experience… and where does it help us? on and she WAS WRONG ON HEALTH CARE too. I would love to think that she was presidential material. but every time i take a look at her… she isn’t. as a matter of fact.. every time i take a look at her, SHE’S MELTING DOWN!!! (oh.. and she messed up the HEALTHCARE thing too) (oh.. and she ran the war room in the white house on the PAULA JONES thing too)… i mean… she just screws things up most of the time.

I’m amazed at the level of invective that is being spewed between obviously intelligent and passionate people. WHOEVER wins to become president is going to need help. Someone said ” A President lends the country, not run it”
There is one true thing, each of the candidate loves this country. If you.re going to criticize Obama for lack of experience, than you can also criticize Clinton for her lack of budgeting skills( looking at how her camp-pain money is being spent.) and you can question McCains comments about admition abouthis lack of understanding on economics. What I trying to say is it not good for us as fellow Americans to turn on each other while the world watches.

BUT.. i have to get over it and just look at my choices of who won’t LOSE IT IN THE WHITE HOUSE! and … as far as i can tell, it’s Sen Obama. i like his steadiness. i like how smart he is. I like that he is ready to throw all of us baby boomers (yes… i am right smack dab in the middle of that generation) out of the pool if we are going to cling to our old baggage! this is a NEW WORLD… and its time we start acting like it. i mean… really… who in the world says XEROX any more? women over 70? seriously… that was as embarrassing as when GEORGE BUSH tried to give the german prime minister a back rub!

Obama is going to have to WIN over the support of Hillary Democrats. It’s not going to be easy.
Aside from the hatred between the two sides, the one thing I notice most about Obama is his misogynist traits. He’s always dismissed Hillary’s concerns as if they don’t exist. Now he mentioned the word “silly” when referring to her. Isn’t that how women are dismissed…by being such a silly women her fears couldn’t be real?
Anyway, that’s what he is doing.
Posted by: Ben | February 26, 2008, 1:42 pm 1:42 pm
oh god… get over it. he isn’t a misogynist in the slightest. you just don’t like the fact that he has to wait for Hilary to catch up to him in regards to actually trying to look FORWARD.. and not in THE PAST. i feel it from my living room. like i said… who in the world says “XEROX” now days?

I can’t believe the idiocy of most of these comments, especially the one by Ben about Obama being a mysogynist. His reference to “silly” had to do with the “silly politics” of trying to push this plagarism issue of “just words. And right he was to take that stand. Even if you think he is dismissive of Hillary (apropos, no more than she is of him), that does not equate to hating women. If you don’t like him that is fine, but please forgo the attempt to make “grass from hay”

I find his actions misogynist too. Like him pulling out the chair for Hillary. Like she can’t pull her own chair out for herself. Please! At the last debate he almost pulled her chair out from under her. How rude! He is also arrogant to say that he has “no doubt” that he can get Hillary’s votes. There is no way I am voting for him. How presumptive is that? HILLARY 2008!

You may not get another opportunity to vote for a woman president. If you do you can thank Hillary for paving the way. Many women have been beaten down for trying to make things better for all women, even those who are ungrateful and undeserving of their sacrifice. Regardless of the outcome I will be forever grateful that Hillary has put herself out there for the women in this country.
