JB – No most polls do not factor in cell phones, and that has been a factor when the youth vote is widely split. Most primary polls also do not factor in independents. That is why you can see the polls often being way off (more than their stated margin of error) this political season. It’s getting harder and harder to determine “random” samples of a possible electorate, so pre-election polls are really more a measure of general sentiment than a reliable barometer.

This superdelegate mess blows. Are the Party leaders so worried that the people will not vote the way they want them to that they have to set up 795 superdelegates so the outcome of the primary can be controlled. And what quals does this youngman have that makes him a superdelegate?

I think that he believed that by casting his vote for Obama, believing in him as well, but looking at it from the perspective of how motivated everyone was in Wisconsin, that that was the right choice. Super delegates matter… so he was doing probably what he felt was right, not only for his opinion, but for the opinion of his state.

Why does a 21-year-old college student have a vote that is the equivalent to some hundreds (if not thousands) of “regular” voters? I can understand the super delegate’s vote in the hands of elected officials. They have earned the legitimacy of such power, as they have been elected by the general public on at least one occasion. But this is only half the super delegates from what I have seen. The other 400+ could literally steal the election for either Obama or Clinton. They should not have such political power. Should the fate of a nation rest on this 21-year-old, and a handful of others?

Delegates, super-delegates, electoral college… it’s all a farce to dilute your vote and my vote; to place the “power” in the hands of a few, elite, controlling party-empowered individuals, both Democrat and Republican. One person, one vote… tally them up in the primary and the winner takes the party. One person, one vote… tally the votes in the general election and the winner takes all.

It’s funny to watch Americans scream out loud about democracy being so important and then watch them squirm when the status quo crumbles. Hey, I loved Hillary. Put up with her when the Clintons moved to New York so she could be a senator. Put up with all her stumbles as she voted for the war, then backtracked so many times. Put up with her husband for, well, being Bill. Why? Because I believed in her like I believed in Bill. Believed in the charm and the promises. But for the past few months Hillary has been acting like the throne is hers, not because she thinks the people really want her there but because she thinks it is rightfully hers. Now she’s acting like a power hungry petulant princess. See, in a real democracy you can cry like a baby, you can play dirty, you can pull out all the stops and have your family battle for you and practically beg people to vote for you, but if that’s not what the people want then you are out. Obama is getting people out to vote in record numbers and they are voting for him. For so long Americans, including the Clintons, have trumpeted democracy as the most important thing there is. Thank you for reminding us about it’s importance Hillary. And Bill. And Chelsea. I’m going to take my one vote and give it to Obama when really I wanted to give it to you. Why? Because I don’t believe in you anymore. I believe in him. And I like him better. And I believe he has a better chance of helping this country recover from the Bush disease. American’s are dissatisfied with the way partisan, bitter, dynastic polictics and policies. They are leaving the under 50 crowd feeling disenfranchised about a future of high taxes to pay for the boomer social security, high energy and food costs and a future not as prosperous as their parents.
The under 50 crowd will have to suffer and pay the bills of the boomers. Clinton offers a more dismal view of the future with micro adjustments of policy coming from Mama Clinton. Their rule is Mama knows best!
The solutions to the problems presented are not more of the same, but from the very citizens being governed. Clinton is not offering a vision of greatness and hope for the future. Just take some more of the same medicine and you will feel better. Its time to breakdown the wall of partisanship and dirty politics!

Obama is not the cure he is part of the disease. He is part of the entitled generation. Remember, regardless of whether it is school, healthcare, money or jobs … you owe me. None of the candidates are perfect but the “give me” generation did not, have not, and will not work so you can have a better life. The election will not only be stolen by the teamsters but by republicans in crossing party lines to vote for their candidate. All the conservative talk shows are encouraging republican voters to vote for “O”. I think this is why there are super delegates.

McCain supports educational vouchers, no child left behind and some privatization of social security. He opposes healthcare reform and withdrawing U.S. troops from Iraq. He is wishy-washy on environmental issues, gun control, and minimum wage hikes.
Clinton and McCain support NAFTA & CAFTA. Obama is wishy-washy on NAFTA & CAFTA.
As one can tell from these issues, Clinton and Obama differ solely on the NAFTA & CAFTA due to the latter not clarifying his stance.

The republicans have been in power for seven years, has any of these things changed for the better? NO! Hillary has put women back 20 years, by not focusing on the issues, or securing a solid message, but by cat-scratching at her opponent with frivolous straw-grabing allegations, that really in the sceme of things are fruitless. Not stable enough to fight squarely, she has resorted to crying, whining, temper tantrums, sarcastic comments. Everything that a woman should not display, if she is trying to convince America that she is strong enough to be President. The fact is, Hillary is not.
God help us if she is made Commander and Chief….foreign countries will see her as a very weak link. We need a President who is innately strong. This sometimes a strong/bully, sometimes a weak/victim/damsel in distress, that Hillary Clinton pulls frequently, is sickening!
