Clinton Camp Praises Fox

On Fox and Friends today, (Watch HERE) Clinton surrogate and Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell had some high praise for Fox News Channel.

"I think during this entire primary coverage, starting in Iowa and up to the present, Fox has done the fairest job, and remained the most objective of all the cable networks," Rendell said. "You hate both of our candidates — no, I’m only kidding. But you actually have done a very balanced job of reporting the news, and some of the other stations are just caught up with Senator Obama, who is a great guy, but Senator Obama can do no wrong, and Senator Clinton can do no right."

This pro-Fox rapture comes after several steps the Clinton camp has made to work with conservative media, including:

Breaking bread with Richard Mellon Scaife;

Sending out an anti-Obama piece from the American Spectator;

Sending out a defense of Bill Clinton from the National Review;

Cozying up to Rupert Murdoch;  and

Establishing an emissary to reach out to Matt Drudge.

It also comes after a Clinton jihad against MSNBC a few weeks ago, as you may recall.

Though you may also recall the Democratic boycott of a Fox News Channel debate last year.

What do you make of all this?

Remember when they came out with Obama in African garb and everyone said it came from the Clinton campaign. Well, it was actually first published in a little known rag sheet called the “examiner” in early January. I was on a cross country flight and grabbed one at the newstand. Low and behold, there he was, as one blogger put it, looking like “toilet paper boy”.
I remember looking at it at thinking how ridiculous. But, of course what could you expect from a rag sheet? What was suprising is that the media actually took to story from a rag sheet and ran with it. A RAG SHEET for crying out loud. That’s what the media has come to.

Posted by: SadStateOfAffairs | March 31, 2008, 9:06 pm 9:06 pm

NOW Team Clinton is trying to get the MEDIA to beat up Obama FOR THEM, hence the “we are so picked on” spin. Worked for them before, after the SNL skit. The Press wanted to self-flagellate through Obama and it brought down Obamas numbers. They, the Cllintons, are so manipulative it makes me nauseous.

I can’t believe even Carl Rove who I couldn’t stand since they stole the 2000 from AL Gore is not that bad. I never would have thought I would watch fox and Msnbc is gone as soon as this is over I like Morning Joe but sorry I have comcast just for msnbc but now it will be gone and I will save alot of money I also find myself pondering voting for MCcain or staying home.

Rendell praising FOX is the Clinton campaign’s invitation to the ultra right wing and racist Hannity to hit Obama even harder.
So again, the Clinton campaign is erring. Hannity will only strengthen the Obama support. Folks at FOX have already started complaining about the Obama bashing as we all know.
Scaife likes Clinton because she’s BAD. He hates her for it as well; it’s an Al Capone fascination.
For the rest, Murdoch etc (who is a fund raiser for her): it has been said 1 million times, Clinton is prepared to do ANYTHING to get or stay in power, which is the main reason I would never vote for her. There should be no place for her mentality in a democracy.

Hilliary has the right to continue on…otherwise, why have primaries scheduled in March, April, June, etc.
Why not everyone vote on Super Tuesday.
Obama bowling is not newsworthy as it is shown on ABC, CBS, NBC.

on the money side he charges for yard signs and bottons and all his help is free college kid who don’t know it but they are being used. And if the people in Pa. knew where he stands on gun control he would not get any votes. He has quite a few fatal flaws but they will come out in the generaland then it may be to late.

The Clinton camp has a good and valid point. These days, I simply do not watch CNN, MSNBC, The Daily Show, and the Colbert Report anymore. Their biased views against the Clintons are frightening!

And FOX news has said their rating are skyrocketing. It’s the only place you can get some background on Obama. Many of us have done our own vetting, but most people don’t have the time or patience and get their info from MSM. When those of us who really knew what Obama was about didn’t see it being reported, we got disgusted and changed channels. Simple as that.
I’m not a FOX news junkie by any stretch but at least you get some info as to who Barack Obama is instead of the picture everyone seems to want to paint…..”Hopes and Dreams from a Smoke Screen”.

DL-Use your head man. There is a fundamental shift going on inside the democratic party itself. Fully one half of the democratic party no longer watch the old liberal press and no longer will that liberal press do our thinking for us. That is fully one half of democrats. That’s unheard of in this or any other time in democratic history. This spit is real and growing. Perhaps you aught to spend a few moments thinking what this really means.

Posted by: Dogsoldier | March 31, 2008, 10:28 pm 10:28 pm

dl, that is not true. I never watched Fox until recently and I have heard this from many other people. I always watched MSNBC and CNN before they totally fell in love with Obama. I don’t expect a network to fall in love with Clinton but I do expect them to be half-ways fair.

Posted by: Tina D | March 31, 2008, 10:30 pm 10:30 pm

if young voters think it’s a good idea to turn against older dems who have seen a little more than they have and who have a little more perspective and who have paid their dues just because the great obama is suggesting they do….let them. they will learn how horribly they have been used and how cynically they have been used by obama.
millions of us will be leaving the party…and that will leave you with 4 more years of bush lite. we are no longer draft age. is that true for you? see how well that fares with your imagined takeover of politics. good luck with that!
what a way to treat your elders. throw them out, say it is a new day…see how well that works for you in November.

Joe Lieberman yesterday in this week said:
“Well, I say that the Democratic Party changed. The Democratic Party today was not the party it was in 2000. It’s not the Bill Clinton-Al Gore party…It’s been effectively taken over by a small group on the left of the party…”
And I happen to agree with him on this completely. The Democratic party today seems to be anything but the Clinton-Gore party. That’s one of the reasons why we have to turn to Fox News to get the fair and balanced news about OUR primaries.
What a shame.

As a die hard democrat, I am amazed at myself for tunning in to FOX News to get a balanced coverage of the Dem. Primaries. It is a testimony to how low the other networks have stooped for Obama. Ethics of journalism has been thrown out of the window by some feeling shrill going through their legs. Others have been intimidated by charges of racism if they criticise Obama and the rest of them like Olbermann working pro bono for the Obama campaign. It is unbelievable to say the least.

Long but worth the read, every statement footnoted:
Just Words: Senator Obama’s Record of Exaggerations & Misstatements (**Various noted sources)
Sen. Obama consistently and falsely claims that he was a law professor. The Sun-Times reported that, “Several direct-mail pieces issued for Obama’s primary [Senate] campaign said he was a law professor at the University of Chicago. He is not. He is a senior lecturer (now on leave) at the school. In academia, there is a vast difference between the two titles. Details matter.” In academia, there’s a significant difference: professors have tenure while lecturers do not. [Hotline Blog, 4/9/07; Chicago Sun-Times, 8/8/04]
Obama claimed credit for nuclear leak legislation that never passed. “Obama scolded Exelon and federal regulators for inaction and introduced a bill to require all plant owners to notify state and local authorities immediately of even small leaks. He has boasted of it on the campaign trail, telling a crowd in Iowa in December that it was ‘the only nuclear legislation that I’ve passed.’ ‘I just did that last year,’ he said, to murmurs of approval. A close look at the path his legislation took tells a very different story. While he initially fought to advance his bill, even holding up a presidential nomination to try to force a hearing on it, Mr. Obama eventually rewrote it to reflect changes sought by Senate Republicans, Exelon and nuclear regulators. The new bill removed language mandating prompt reporting and simply offered guidance to regulators, whom it charged with addressing the issue of unreported leaks. Those revisions propelled the bill through a crucial committee. But, contrary to Mr. Obama’s comments in Iowa, it ultimately died amid parliamentary wrangling in the full Senate.” [New York Times, 2/2/08]
Obama misspoke about his being conceived because of Selma. “Mr. Obama relayed a story of how his Kenyan father and his Kansan mother fell in love because of the tumult of Selma, but he was born in 1961, four years before the confrontation at Selma took place. When asked later, Mr. Obama clarified himself, saying: ‘I meant the whole civil rights movement.’” [New York Times, 3/5/07]
LA Times: Fellow organizers say Sen. Obama took too much credit for his community organizing efforts. “As the 24-year-old mentor to public housing residents, Obama says he initiated and led efforts that thrust Altgeld’s asbestos problem into the headlines, pushing city officials to call hearings and a reluctant housing authority to start a cleanup. But others tell the story much differently. They say Obama did not play the singular role in the asbestos episode that he portrays in the best-selling memoir ‘Dreams From My Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance.’ Credit for pushing officials to deal with the cancer-causing substance, according to interviews and news accounts from that period, also goes to a well-known preexisting group at Altgeld Gardens and to a local newspaper called the Chicago Reporter. Obama does not mention either one in his book.” [Los Angeles Times, 2/19/07]
Chicago Tribune: Obama’s assertion that nobody had indications Rezko was engaging in wrongdoing ’strains credulity.’ “…Obama has been too self-exculpatory. His assertion in network TV interviews last week that nobody had indications Rezko was engaging in wrongdoing strains credulity: Tribune stories linked Rezko to questionable fundraising for Gov. Rod Blagojevich in 2004 – more than a year before the adjacent home and property purchases by the Obamas and the Rezkos.” [Chicago Tribune editorial, 1/27/08]
Obama was forced to revise his assertion that lobbyists ‘won’t work in my White House.’ “White House hopeful Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) was forced to revise a critical stump line of his on Saturday – a flat declaration that lobbyists ‘won’t work in my White House’ after it turned out his own written plan says they could, with some restrictions… After being challenged on the accuracy of what he has been saying – in contrast to his written pledge – at a news conference Saturday in Waterloo, Obama immediately softened what had been his hard line in his next stump speech.” [Chicago Sun-Times, 12/16/07]
FactCheck.org: ‘Selective, embellished and out-of-context quotes from newspapers pump up Obama’s health plan.’ “Obama’s ad touting his health care plan quotes phrases from newspaper articles and an editorial, but makes them sound more laudatory and authoritative than they actually are. It attributes to The Washington Post a line saying Obama’s plan would save families about $2,500. But the Post was citing the estimate of the Obama campaign and didn’t analyze the purported savings independently. It claims that “experts” say Obama’s plan is “the best.” “Experts” turn out to be editorial writers at the Iowa City Press-Citizen – who, for all their talents, aren’t actual experts in the field. It quotes yet another newspaper saying Obama’s plan “guarantees coverage for all Americans,” neglecting to mention that, as the article makes clear, it’s only Clinton’s and Edwards’ plans that would require coverage for everyone, while Obama’s would allow individuals to buy in if they wanted to.” [FactCheck.org, 1/3/08]
Sen. Obama said ‘I passed a law that put Illinois on a path to universal coverage,’ but Obama health care legislation merely set up a task force. ”As a state senator, I brought Republicans and Democrats together to pass legislation insuring 20,000 more children. And 65,000 more adults received health care…And I passed a law that put Illinois on a path to universal coverage.” The State Journal-Register reported in 2004 that “The [Illinois State] Senate squeaked out a controversial bill along party lines Wednesday to create a task force to study health-care reform in Illinois. […] In its original form, the bill required the state to offer universal health care by 2007. That put a ‘cloud’ over the legislation, said Sen. Dale Righter, R-Mattoon. Under the latest version, the 29-member task force would hold at least five public hearings next year.” [Obama Health Care speech, 5/29/07; State Journal-Register, 5/20/04]
ABC News: ‘Obama…seemed to exaggerate the legislative progress he made’ on ethics reform. “ABC News’ Teddy Davis Reports: During Monday’s Democratic presidential debate, Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., seemed to exaggerate the legislative progress he has made on disclosure of “bundlers,” those individuals who aggregate their influence with the candidate they support by collecting $2,300 checks from a wide network of wealthy friends and associates. When former Alaska Sen. Mike Gravel alleged that Obama had 134 bundlers, Obama responded by telling Gravel that the reason he knows how many bundlers he has raising money for him is “because I helped push through a law this past session to disclose that.” Earlier this year, Obama sponsored an amendment [sic] in the Senate requiring lobbyists to disclose the candidates for whom they bundle. Obama’s amendment would not, however, require candidates to release the names of their bundlers. What’s more, although Obama’s amendment was agreed to in the Senate by unanimous consent, the measure never became law as Obama seemed to suggest. Gravel and the rest of the public know how many bundlers Obama has not because of a ‘law’ that the Illinois Democrat has ‘pushed through’ but because Obama voluntarily discloses that information.” [ABC News, 7/23/07]
Obama drastically overstated Kansas tornado deaths during campaign appearance. “When Sen. Barack Obama exaggerated the death toll of the tornado in Greensburg, Kan, during his visit to Richmond yesterday, The Associated Press headline rapidly evolved from ‘Obama visits former Confederate capital for fundraiser’ to ‘Obama rips Bush on Iraq war at Richmond fundraiser’ to ‘Weary Obama criticizes Bush on Iraq, drastically overstates Kansas tornado death toll’ to ‘Obama drastically overstates Kansas tornado deaths during campaign appearance.’ Drudge made it a banner, ensuring no reporter would miss it. [politico.com, 5/9/07]
Obama may be “short” on the donations, but certainly not so on “words” He can go “long” on “embellishment”!
With Thanks to Jane

Charlie, if it’s not Hillary I am voting for Nader. I am from FL and I am not going to give someone who is fighting so hard to keep my vote from counting. I have never voted for a republican and I don’t think I ever will. I know the result will be the same but I think we can send a better message if we vote Nader. But I am still hoping Hillary can pull it out. I contributed to her today for like the 8th time. Let’s be positive.

Posted by: Tina D | March 31, 2008, 10:42 pm 10:42 pm

I was never a fan of FOX but since this election they have been fair in their reporting, and the only network that seems to want to question Obama and find out what he is really about.
They uncovered the Wright issue, today there is the questioner form, they have questioned Obama past associates and they keep doing a service to voters that want information to help them decide.
They have also brought up issues with Hillary and with Bill, to me Fox has been the fair and balanced media, all the others seem to be on a love fest over Obama.
Some media are getting tingles running up their legs, others just don’t seem to want to question anything Obama says or does, they have decided Obama is the nominee and they are pushing that to the limit regardless of what happens.

dl-If this is still a fifty-fifty nation and if Obama should win then those of us on the Clinton side hold the keys to the White House. Never forget that. My side is the ONE and ONLY way to the White House for McCain or Obama.

A sane person knows most campaign promises are just air in the wind.
The Senate and house do more law making and changes than any president will or can do.
The President is commander and chief
from what obama says he wants nothing to do with war. So He should stay in the Senate and work on all the crap he promised all the obamadittes.
He is not Presidential material.
A vote for America is a vote against Obama

How disgusting and deplorable!

He will never get my vote!

Tired of Drama,
Hillary ran out of money for her staff does not mean she doesn’t care of people when she runs this country.
I also wonder why Obama has so much donation for his campaign while the other candidates including Mc Cain don’t have that much money.
That’s why in GE Obama refuses to do public finance.

Posted by: crisis08 | March 31, 2008, 11:46 pm 11:46 pm

All you Obama bashers here are still in a state of denial. Politics and winning elections are about majorities. You can tell or shout or slander what you want in some small blog corners of this big and great country, it is the majority that counts. That why pollster’s post, to which nobody reacts – as can be expected from those in denail – is so interesting.
This recent Gallup Poll clearly shows that a LARGE majority of Americans considers Obama to be the stronger Dem candidate in the GE fight with Mc Cain.
This perception or conviction is a pretty CRUCIAL one, I tell you. So again, that report on Gallup’s poll. Do check these numbers, for they’re telling.
A majority of Democrats and Republicans believe that Barack Obama has a better chance of defeating John McCain in November than does Hillary Clinton, according to a Gallup Panel survey conducted March 24-27. Democrats say 59 percent to 30 percent that Obama has a better chance against McCain and, on the question of who McCain would have an easier time beating, Republicans said Clinton by a 64 percent to 22 percent margin.
“Democrats say 59 percent to 30 percent that Obama has a better chance against McCain.”
So, why would Clinton fight on?

Posted by: Maria | March 31, 2008, 11:49 pm 11:49 pm

Hillary does not get favorable coverage often because she is using gutter type tactics which lends itself to a negative outcome. So its not the main stream media its the person. She never had a strategy for after Feb. 5th and she has been negative every since. She is using Fox and other right wing outlets to put out trash which isn’t fact checked, in context or so cherry picked it laughable. She will loose and will have herself and the gutter to blame for it not the media or her gender.

Posted by: leslie | March 31, 2008, 11:52 pm 11:52 pm

Posted by: Dogsoldier | March 31, 2008, 11:53 pm 11:53 pm

Leslie,
What exactly are those gutter tactics?
Standing up for voters?
Sticking to the issues?
Calling it like she sees it?
Standing down the Beltway boys network?
If only you would use such gutter tactics.

You got that right on the extreme left. The Kos Mafia, MoveOn, and leftover Deaniacs are trying to pull a fast one on America by backing Obama. He’s a slick-talker, solves their guilt problem, and blends in well with the east coast elite. He is their trojan horse.
I confess I used to belong to Move on until they moved so far left that they make Nader look moderate.

Maria-I can go one better. There are thirteen million of us, and growing, on this side who say differently. That’s only 1% less than the numbers on your side. Just say no to Obama as so many millions of us are.

Posted by: al | April 1, 2008, 12:00 am 12:00 am

Did it ever occur to any of you Hillary lovers that the media is just reporting the news.
The only reason Hillary gets all the negative news is that she IS negative. Her entire campaign is negative.
I didn’t even include the finger wagging red nose, red faced Billy Boy with his speech on the occassional football clip or saddle up and let’s have an argument. Then there is sweet little 28 year old Chelsea telling college kids their questions are none of their business. I didn’t even mention the Bosnia whopper she “misspoke” on or Carville calling Richardson Judas.
I say game on people…game on. There has been plenty of Obama bashing in the news and on these blogs.
It isn’t the media’s fault when they report negative Clinton headlines when negative campaign tactics are all there is to report on. If they didn’t report that there would be NOTHING to report. Then you people would be whinning about Hillary not getting ANY media attention.
Hillary is setting us up for the sweeter softer side just right before the Pennsylvania primary…wait and see. Right now it is poor Hillary is being bullied and asked to quit the race. It is poor Hillary is being treated unfairly by the media. Tomorrow it will be something else.
One day the fighter…the next day the victim…but ALWAYS the liar.

Hey Maria,
I thought size did not matter.
To hear you tell it we should totally blow off the working class Democratic voters in places like Pennsylvania and Indiana, you know, the ones that have lost all the jobs, the ones that are feeling the most pain from the economy, the ones that are backing Hillary in the great majority that you are trying to falsely claim for Obama.
You just keep talking like that. Make sure they hear it loud and clear that you and Obama do not care about their vote. You think that if you say it long and loud enough that you will drive them away from the polls, if you demoralize them enough, that they won’t even bother to vote? You just keep it up, you goodhearted proud elite Democrat. They will no doubt listen carefully to your words, they are just words right?

Posted by: Dogsoldier | April 1, 2008, 12:07 am 12:07 am

What do I think of this? I think this is next to ridiculous, if not laughable to be even a point of discussion! There are more important atrocities in the world. Than what a governor’s personal opinion is about a news network. I hope FOX will give Gov. Ed Rendell some for all the free advertising.
However, it is true. I’m a news junkie, I watch all the networks, of late, during this election, FOX has had the most consistent fair coverage of all three presidential candidates. MSNBC has gotten so far over the top, it’s shameful. I have completely stopped watching them. Truthfully, that’s when I started watching FOX more. The proof is in their rating numbers. Journalism is suppose to about objective fairness. Not marketing and sensational drama. You need Diazepam after an hour show on MSNBC! Those news organizations that’s are doing well are delivering quality journalism not spin or a bias pundit doing a used car salesman job.
There is a reason, FOX is called, “the most powerful name in news!”

it is pretty sad that the self-whiteous “liberal” media is so one-sided….independent media research organizations like mediamatters.org and factcheck.org have unveiled the hostility towards the clintons.
Ken — if obambi did this, he would be unifiying the country. when clinton does it she is opportunistic. you are the very disease that rendell is talking about. if you actually click and read the articles, it said that some of them were reconsidering clinton…maybe they had just been nasty for no reason at all.
the dems are week. clinton should leave this wretched party. obambi will lose and be a sissy and blame clinton.

Dogsoldier:
I am not partial to *ANY* news network. I don’t blindly listen to or believe what any one person tells me. I listen to a variety of individuals who have a proven track record of journalistic integrity and objectivity!
People like Ted Koppel (before he retired), Tim Russert, George Stephanopoulos, John King, and yes, sometimes even Chris Wallace (on Fox). Most importantly however is that I do *my own* research before arriving at a conclusion! And in the case of Hillary reaching out to Richard Mellon Scaife and his paper: the “Pittsburgh Tribune Review” (a man who funded an investigation into the death of former White House counsel Vince Foster to determine if the Clinton’s were responsible for his “murder”, when all the evidence clearly pointed to suicide and a man that Hillary herself proclaimed to be the root of the “right-wing conspiracy” against her husband), yes, I find that completely disgusting, hypocritical, and crossing the line of running an ethical and an above-board presidential campaign!
Winning *at any cost* is never an option for a person who must have the moral fiber, integrity, and honesty required to earn the most important job on the planet. And while not all candidates are perfect (yes Obama too has flaws and has made mistakes including showing a lack of judgement with some of the people surrounding his campaign), he has nevertheless shown to have far more integrity and moral character than Hillary Clinton!

fed up voter….mediamatters.org and other nonpartisan research groups have documented the negative coverage. even the “public editor” of the ny times has documented the paper’s own bias against clinton. the “sniper” embellishment got tons of coverage. obambi’s embellishment of his kennedy connection has received little. both lies though. sorry – the bias is there. but that’s cool. it just continues to anger clinton’s support and ensures a long primary season and certain defeat for obama in the general election. a win win for the republicans. lol. only the “youthful” and white elite and wannabe leftist wings of the party could construct such a losing strategy. this is too rich to watch.
HI PREZ MCCAIN. YOU GOT A LIFETIME DEM DEFECTING AND A LOT MORE TO COME. THERER ARE GROUPS SPRINGING UP IN THE BIG CITIES. LOL – IT’S GOING TO BE DISASTROUS. DONT BLAME CLINTON. BLAME YOURSELVES FOR NOT HAVING THE VISION TO SEE THE TRAIN WRECK COMING. LOL. WHAT A PITIFUL PARTY.

Danny,
I can tell you have an open mind as you claim, that you were not already biased against Hillary, and that you carefully placed in the right context the fact that Hillary Clinton went in front of the editorial board of the Trib as a matter of request by the Trib to answer their questions in order to form an editorial opinion, as opposed to the “reaching out” case as you described.
I’ve run for public office and if you want to stand a fighting chance you go through these Q&A sessions with your allies and with your enemies, to try to soften the latter.
By the way, how often and how many times a day are you required to do the “Yes, we can” chant each day?

Posted by: WestCoastMessenger | April 1, 2008, 12:22 am 12:22 am

That is actually true with the media that Obama can do no wrong and Clinton can do no right.
I wonder how much does his campaign or supporters paid people to faint during his speeches?
If Obama is the democratic nominee, All I can say is FOR THE FIRST TIME IN MY ADULT LIFE I WILL BE VOTING A REPUBLICAN FOR PRESIDENT.
I don’t fall into trance with his empty speeches.
So how come no media would dig on his IL state senate records??
Rezko, exelon corp. Larry Sinclair. At least O’reilly mention the Larry Sinclair issue recently and he wonders why no mainstream media would pick it up. His polygraph result is bogus and so is the guy who conducted the test (Ed Gelb with a fake ph.d).

The caucus system is the most ridiculous system. Hillary would have locked up the nomination if we simply had a nationwide primary on a single day.
If Iowa was a primary, may be Clinton would have won and she would have locked up the nomination before Feb. 5.
I think a single-day nationwide primary should be conducted. Electoral college weightage should be assigned and winner take all approach should be used.
In any case, I hope Pennsylvania will change the narrative.
I think the Liberal Media hates the Clintons so much that they will be rooting for John McCain if Hillary is the nominee.

Roger Miller,
Oops, sorry I did that last posting before I heard your comment. OK, enough is enough. Really, though, if you take a look at the links I provided you’ll find that it looks good for Hillary. By Barone’s calculation it looks like Hillary will prevail in the popular votes, without including Florida and Michigan. That plus the mighty mo and a shift in national polls may do the trick with the supers. That’s not just wishful thinking on my part.

DON’T BE DUPED !!!
Large numbers of Republicans have been voting for Barack Obama in the DEMOCRATIC primaries, and caucuses from early on. Because they feel he would be a weaker opponent against John McCain. And because they feel that a Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama ticket would be unbeatable. And also because with a Clinton and Obama ticket you are almost 100% certain to get quality, affordable universal health care very soon.
But first, all of you have to make certain that Hillary Clinton takes the democratic nomination and then the Whitehouse. NOW! is the time. THIS! is the moment you have all been working, and waiting for. You can do this America. “Carpe diem” (harvest the day).
I think Hillary Clinton see’s a beautiful world of plenty for all. She is a woman, and a mother. And it’s time America. Do this for your-selves, and your children’s future. You will have to work together on this and be aggressive, relentless, and creative. Americans face an even worse catastrophe ahead than the one you are living through now.
You see, the medical and insurance industry mostly support the republicans with the money they ripped off from you. And they don’t want you to have quality, affordable universal health care. They want to be able to continue to rip you off, and kill you and your children by continuing to deny you life saving medical care that you have already paid for. So they can continue to make more immoral profits for them-selves.
Hillary Clinton has actually won by much larger margins than the vote totals showed. And lost by much smaller vote margins than the vote totals showed. Her delegate count is actually much higher than it shows. And higher than Obama’s. She also leads in the electoral college numbers that you must win to become President in the November national election. HILLARY CLINTON IS ALREADY THE TRUE DEMOCRATIC NOMINEE!
As much as 30% of Obama’s primary, and caucus votes are Republicans trying to choose the weakest democratic candidate for McCain to run against. These Republicans have been gaming the caucuses where it is easier to vote cheat. This is why Obama has not been able to win the BIG! states primaries. Even with Republican vote cheating help.
Hillary Clinton has been out manned, out gunned, and out spent 2 and 3 to 1. Yet Obama has only been able to manage a very tenuous, and questionable tie with Hillary Clinton.
If Obama is the democratic nominee for the national election in November he will be slaughtered. Because the Republican vote cheating help will suddenly evaporate. All of this vote fraud and republican manipulation has made Obama falsely look like a much stronger candidate than he really is. YOUNG PEOPLE. DON’T BE DUPED! Think about it. You have the most to lose.
The democratic party needs to fix this outrage. I suggest a Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama ticket. Everyone needs to throw all your support to Hillary Clinton NOW! So you can end this outrage against YOU the voter, and against democracy.
I think Barack Obama has a once in a life time chance to make the ultimate historic gesture for unity, and change in America by accepting Hillary Clinton’s offer as running mate. Such an act now would for ever seal Barack Obama’s place at the top of the list of Americas all time great leaders, and unifiers for all of history.
The democratic party, and the super-delegates have a decision to make. Are the democrats, and the democratic party going to choose the DEMOCRATIC party nominee to fight for the American people. Or are the republicans going to choose the DEMOCRATIC party nominee through vote fraud, and gaming the DEMOCRATIC party primaries, and caucuses.
Fortunately the Clinton’s have been able to hold on against this fraudulent outrage with those repeated dramatic comebacks of Hillary Clinton’s. Only the Clinton’s are that resourceful, and strong. Hillary Clinton is your NOMINEE. They are the best I have ever seen.
“This is not a game” (Hillary Clinton)
Sincerely
jacksmith…

This is absolutely true! Fox has been the most balanced network when reporting news about the candidates.
I have stopped watching msnbc and if you take a look at their “first read” political section, all the writers are so anti-hillary it’s a joke! They won’t report anything negative about Obama, ever.

Posted by: Missmadeleine2002 | April 1, 2008, 2:43 am 2:43 am

Fox is actually covering Barack with critical eyes. Unlike Chris Matthews, Keith Olbermann and Andrea Mitchell who have ditched their spectacles by the road to don Obama-Goggles.
Women with children, working people who don’t go to Starbucks are hurting. Hillary speaks to them. Its the backbone of America. She will win.
Let’s not forget that Barack’s allegiances are very shallow.
He voted to Confirm Thomas Griffith to the US circuit court in 2005. Leahy opposed Griffith vehemently because of Griffith’s hostility to Title IX (he tried to weaken it) and the fact that Griffith’s practiced law without a license for four years.
Now why did Barack vote yes for Griffiths?
I hope someone who can still see straight in the media looks into this one.

Posted by: bluestocking1920 | April 1, 2008, 2:51 am 2:51 am

At first, I thought I was the only one who had seen all I could stand of Matthews (thrills running up his leg), Olbermann (Mr. self-important “special comments”), Todd, Mitchell and Company. Ed Rendell told it exactly like it is. No question about it. Fox has the most objective coverage. MSNBC is one endless Obamamercial.

Posted by: prittfumes | April 1, 2008, 3:09 am 3:09 am

Look I would definitely have to agree with anyone who says that fox is being fairer to Clinton than other major media outlets. Remember your Tonya Harding comparison ABC that stayed on the frontpage using different photos for what seemed like days?
Tabloid journalsim has taken over. And recent studies by independent sources are pretty overwhelming….Basically the so called media has become an extension of the Obama campaign. And some of us are a little tired of it.
Fox is the Republican slant…but they don’t try to pretend their unbiased while favoring a candidate 75% of the time.
I never watched fox before this election. You guys may be turning me into a Republican!

Posted by: Jackie | April 1, 2008, 3:22 am 3:22 am

Ps MSNBC Chris Mathews is painful to watch in his Clinton bias…trying desperately to get anyone to agree that the “red phone” ad was racist.
CNN Cafferty is angry and over-the-top in his constant Clinton bashing…it is not journalism.
Lately ABC is attempting to join the tabloid bandwagon…note slanted headlines and the Tonya Harding campaign.
In the meantime, at least fox covers some of the stories that mainstream media is trying to hide for Obama…for instance Wright.
So when are you guys going to take a little time and show the direct correllation between Obama’s pork barrel projects and the legislation that was given to him by the authors and advocates so Obama could build a resume? And when are we going to hear about Rezco….Obama is right up there after the Governor as “best friend No2″ of this politically corrupt “slumlord” who does real estate deals with the Obama’s.

Posted by: Jackie | April 1, 2008, 3:33 am 3:33 am

All of this means 3 things:
1. The right wing media is the only place where Hillary has got a fair shot of getting some positive/balanced publicity.
2. She is trying to prove that she knows how to bridge divides and she wants to get past the fights of the 90s.
3. She is bold.

Posted by: rachel | April 1, 2008, 3:43 am 3:43 am

Assuming that Hillary wants to be president of “ALL” the people do you really mind her going after Republican votes…after all that’s supposed to be Obama’s greatest asset…I believe it is the greatest lie.
Any Republican that is diametrically opposed to Obama’s political stances will not bote for him…that’s some sort of media invention that the Obama campaign is spreading around. Obama is a liberal…Clinton is more centrist…with a true record of reaching across the aisle.
By the way I think that Hillary meeting with the striking truckers in PA is more important news than the daily “fluff stuff” we get on Obama.
I think that the Wright story that Obama would like to pretend is gone away with the help of a cooperative media is an important story.
I think the fact that the Hawaii papers are doubting that Obama’s grandmother was saying racist things about Blacks is an important story.
I believe the number of times Obama has lied about Rezco and Wright are more relevant than the Bosnia fiasco.

Summary: During a segment of The O’Reilly Factor to discuss “What is the downside of having a woman become the president of the United States?” author Marc Rudov’s initial response to the question was, “You mean besides the PMS and the mood swings, right?” Rudov later asserted: “Well, you know, I’m joking. Of course, the main problem I have is if a woman has a female agenda.”

The media on the right have done a much better job of covering the Democratic race than either the mainstream media or the so-called progressive media.
Many progressives have allowed their hatred for Hillary Clinton to cloud their judgement to the point where they can’t say anything positive about her, even if deserved, or anything negative about Obama, even if blatantly obvious.
The right-wing media seems to have less emotional investment in the race, at least so far.

I too have turned to Fox News for the only “fair and balanced” reporting I’ve been able to find during this election. Early on I was seeing extreme bias at MSNBC (Chris Matthews is a joke; I will never watch him again. Olberman has always been nothing but a loser. Tucker Carlson tried to report on Obama and got canned. Morning Joe has been fair, so I still watch him.) CNN wasn’t reporting fairly either. Then Anderson Cooper actually apologized to Obama for having to ask about Rev. Wright.
I don’t know why the media is so invested in Obama. This may be the true story that needs to be uncovered. Anyway, thank goodness for Fox News (I still can’t believe I’m saying that). And thank goodness for the internet so we can dig and do our own research.

I’m sick of the bs news….as long as Fox News is tearing down Obama, you all love it. Rev Manning called his father a whore and his mother white trash, and I have not seen anyone of you, not ONE, speak out against it. Its ok as long as the media is tearing down Obama. But hey, that has nothing to do with racism…..right!
I will NEVER vote for hillary. Her 35 yrs experience is nothing but the biggest fairy tale. She lies and distorts and most of you just eat it up. Then turn around and blame attacks on Obama whenever he defends himself. And now all of the sudden hillary is so concerned about the peoples vote, give me a frickin break!
Go ahead, vote for hillary….so you can all watch her lose big in the general election. I know I will enjoy it.

But I can guarantee you, if hillary somehow manages to get this nomination, and I don’t care how much pandering she and philandering bill do….I will not vote for her and neither will the majority of Obama supporters. Now THAT I do know. The news tells you 19% lol trust me, it will be much higher than that.
So you can even stump for McCain if you wish. Understand….more than half the country does NOT want the clintons back in the white house. period.
They are deceitful liars. They have deceived you into thinking that deceit and dishonesty somehow equates to a ‘fighter’. LOL keep dreaming. The clintons care about NO ONE but themselves.

I think its about time all of the cable news stations woke up and got a huge dose of reality. As much as I don’t want McCain do be our next President he was right yesterday when he said Obama had NO experience when it come to National Security and Warfare. This is true. I don’t want to elect a President in the midst of two wars that has NO experience. Now I also don’t want to elect a man that will send our troops into Iran and keep us in Iraq for annother 10 years. It would be devastating to our military and to our economy. Vote Hillary she is the best choice for our National Security, and our economy. The only one with a clear and cutting edge plan to fix the economy and get people back to work. She is the only one that has a plan to really fix health care, and the energy crisis. Obama voted for the most recent Cheney energy bill that had huge tax incentives to the oil companies. She has comprehensive plans on each of these things, and has a proven record to get them done for the american people.

This is the ultimate untruth and the latest low in the Clinton campaign. Endorsing Fox News! If this doesn’t finally show their willingness to deal with the devil then I have to ask Clinton supporters one question? When do you call a halt to their win at all cost mentality? A willingness to accept lies seemed to be a trademark of the Republican party…until now. When your devotion to a candidate blinds you to the point that you refuse to see the same willingness to say what is untrue, and to endorse a network that has a reputation to out and out lie sounds like the politics of old with absolutely no promise for change. Is she changing parties? That’s the only change that I can see in Hillary’s politics…changing into a Republican right before our eyes. Is this wooing the Limbaugh’s Operation Chaos folks? Could they be that desperate? I used to believe is this bunch. It hurts to watch the descent. Good bye Hillary… I can’t condone this any longer.

Posted by: Indy Ed | April 1, 2008, 8:29 am 8:29 am

All these polls seem pretty meaningless. Chris Matthews was giving Hillary’s obituary before New Hampshire voting even took place. There is something I find puzzling about Obama and FOX is probably the only network that will cover it. Obama votes present on 130 controversial votes, and he votes and says he made a mistake, but when it came to voting on allowing a doctor in the delivery room for partial birth abortions to treat the infant if it was born alive, he VOTED AGAINST ALLOWING A DOCTOR TO TREAT THE INFANT! For a man that’s so wishy washy and flip floppy on his voting record, that is a pretty strong liberal vote. A disgusting one, but it shows his true colors. Pregnancy is punishment after all.

Posted by: cordelia525 | April 1, 2008, 8:40 am 8:40 am

I think all the news channels should get Ed Rendell off the airwaves. After his remarks to the editorial board of the Post Gazette, I discredit anything he says. As an elected official he should have the position that the people of Pennsylvania should not use race when determining their choice. Even when so called “handicapping”. It’s people like him who have prevented this nation from progress on race relations. This country would be a better place without comments from elected officals that go against the present tide to heal the race divide in America.

From the Rasmussen Poll.
“Clinton voters, by a 64% to 26% margin, believe that American society is generally fair and decent. Obama voters are evenly divided—45% hold that optimistic view while another 45% say society is generally unfair and discriminatory.”

Obama v. Obama on the Primary: “Bataan death march” or “good thing”?
“And I know that some people have been saying oh you know, this primary has taken so long. I think it is a good thing, it is a healthy thing that so many people are passionate. I think that it is great that Senator Clinton’s supporters are as passionate about her as my supporters are passionate about me.”
–Sen. Barack Obama — Allenton, PA, 3.31.08
“For those of you who are just weary of the primary, and feeling kind of ground down or that it’s like a Bataan death march, I just want everybody to know that the future is bright.”

La In Indiana: It is true that Hillary is getting most of the white vote! What is equally clear is that Obama is getting about 90% of the black vote! What this shows is how divided this party is along class, race, and gender! I don’t think Hillary or Obama is to blame for that split. Women are frustrated and want a woman and blacks are frustrated and want a black to be president! So this split is natural and I don’t think it is correct or fair to say that the people who support Hillary have destroyed the party! What’s destroyed millions of people have joined this party and the exicitment is palpable, so to say that the party is doomed is premature! Let everyone who wants to vote, vote and lets go from there!

On the other hand, let’s not forget how long the DNC has defended racial segregation. It is clear for everyone to see how racism is the driving force of the fanatic resistance against Obama becoming our nominee. Very sad but very true as well.

However, his praise is surprising since FOX’s own Chris Wallace told “Fox and Friends” on March 21st to quit the Obama-bashing after they spent 2 hours talking about Obama’s grandmother’s “typical white person” remarks. I don’t think that is very balanced.

Obama is a Civil Rights Atty and Constitutional Atty who did everything possible to prevent Florida and Michigan revotes. What do you think will happen if we ARE ALLOWED to vote? What do you think will happen when the Clinton supporters that were kept out of Caucuses are allowed to vote?
We will cast votes for anyone but this reprehensible man. He is a disgrace for what he’s done in the nomination process alone.
It’s naive of the press and DNC to think that we will get over it. We certainly will not give up the opportunity to show you just how we feel. It will not matter if the delegates are seated AFTER the process is over. It will be too late for this party. We will celebrate in the only way we can to get some justice.

OBAMA THE GOD!
You cannot ask Obama to explain anything because he is exempt from all questions, explanations, background, experience, relationships, real estate, religious beliefs, religious relationships, his current/past religion. The lord Obama has risen, please go prone. Let the world stop for a minute’s silence. Praise be Obama.
I would like to issue a warning to the Obama supporters, your pure hatred and divisiveness will cost your candidate the election should he win the nomination, first of all you are f following a man that has based his platform on being a uniter, yet you are so vicious, and hate filled in your criticism of Senator Clinton, it’s one thing to pitch for your candidate, but it is another thing to just be plane out hateful, many see it and many are turned off by it and if you think that Obama can win the General election on is own without the Clinton Supporters you better think again, do the numbers and that should sober you up from the Kool-Aid that you have been drinking, if Obama supporters are so ready to turn a deaf ear to certain facts about their candidate and put him up on a pedestal as if he is some sort of Messiah, then they will not hold him accountable and that in itself is scary, watch what you say and how you say it because you are consistently alienating the Clinton Supporters and we do have options come November which consist of:
1. Start a write in Campaigned for Hillary
2. Stay at Home
3. Vote for Nader
4. Vote for McCain
All of which will cost your candidate the election, and when this occurs, I hope that you blame yourselves for your despicable behavior. It is evident to me that most of the individuals on this site are young disrespectful people, and if not, that is even more disgraceful, your have dragged Senator Clinton through the mud with you vicious accusations and lies, if your would do your research and look at her record objectively, you would see that the majority of the things that you accuse her of are simply media driven, Republican driven hate mongering. You take this woman who is a champion for children’s rights, who was a key player in pushing for the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) to protect the rights of women and families, who under the good old boy corporate America would loose their jobs if they had to go out on leave to have their children, or take care of their sick parents, a woman that went to China and stood in front one of the most hateful regimes and spoke out against the injustice and slaughter of thousands of female infants due to their Nazi mentality that one Gender is more worthy to live, a woman that yes sat on the board of Wal-Mart, which your candidate was quick to point out, but never pointed out that she was a throne in their sides because of her constant demand for equal pay and equal rights for women, a woman who started her political Career years ago, sitting on the Nixon impeachment panel and being a part of the American Political system. A woman who is so intelligent, that she could be at any large Corporate Firm making millions, but chose to be a champion for children and all people, a woman who had to publicly endure the type of deception that most women have in their lifetime, but not in the public eye and still was made out to be part of the problem instead of the victim, I guess that mean that every woman who has been cheated on, it is somehow their fault according to her critics, how truly disgusting, you chastise her for staying with her husband, but how many of you have stayed through worst, but no one in the world knows. Have you researched her, have you really taken a truly good look at her policies, as I have your candidate, because as an American you owe it to yourself and your fellow American to give each candidate a good hard look. Be careful what you hope for, because it just may come true, she may lose this thing but if you continue to viciously attack her, your candidate will be the biggest loser come November. A word to the wise.

It is a great feeling to know that Hillary’s supporters hold the key to Obama’s future! Given that you would think the Obama people would be courting us a little, guess they don’t want our vote! You can’t cross burning bridges! Maybe McCain will listen to us?

Posted by: russell | April 1, 2008, 10:26 am 10:26 am

It’s one of the ironies of this election cycle is that Fox News is the only place to go to get balanced coverage of the Dem nomination process. They have no horse in the race so they just report the news. ABC, MSNBC, and CNN who I trusted for the most accurate reporting on the Bush reign of error are in bed with Obama, which even a passing glance on any day can tell you.

Posted by: hopesprings52 | April 1, 2008, 10:30 am 10:30 am

If Clinton intends to change the numbers, she has to go after Obama where he is weakest: judgement and character. His record on legislation, his inability to separate his personal choices from the teachings of Black Liberation Theology, his flip flopping on issues day to day and audience to audience, and his arrogance all work against him when shown for what they are. She is too afraid to offend the bigots who won’t vote for her and to defend the majority of middle class Americans who will.
Fox is the *right* vehicle for that.
Call it the Tonya Harding option if you like. This is a fight for the Presidency, not a game of hoops in the local YMCA.
Otherwise, it is time for Obama to listen to Mario Cuomo. John McCain isn’t afraid of the left-wing of the DNC. He relishes that fight because it will be the easiest fight of his career.

Posted by: len | April 1, 2008, 10:34 am 10:34 am

hopesprings52 – The irony, maybe if you went to objective non liberal biasis news places you would not lie about our President.
fox news is the most balanced, I noticed lately ABC is getting better.
CBS and NBC are in bed with the DNC
MSNBC with the tingling up their legs for Obama are in bed with the Liberal Socialist
CNN is in bed with the DNC also.
Well Clinton and the DNC should not of turned down the Debate with the Black caucus and FOX (And I thought only the republicans did not debate for the Black caucus)

russell….the hillary supporters are secondary.
hillary clinton, with her slash and burn politics, AND bill with his bs, has destroyed this party. She and bill with all their distortions….they actually have you believing they are honest and decent people. What happens? some of you act like what has taken place in the last 2 months, hasn’t. Are we even looking at the same race???
They even have YOU distorting the truth, from one day to the next….all just to get her elected.
You now blame Obama for MI and FL, when you all knew this started way before his name was even known. But hey, lets forget about the rules and what took place….all you say now is Obama doesn’t want MI and FL to vote. How disingenuous of all of you! I’m sick of all the distortions and lies. And that is how you plan to win, with nothing but distortions and lies. hillary clinton does not deserve my vote after all this deceitful crap, and I will make sure she doesn’t get it.

couple of thoughts:
Jenna, excellent entry. thanks for pulling it all together.
la ind is really filled with rage toward Hillary. she talks about Hillary lying, yet seems to forget:bho saying he was not aware of wright’s words, then saying he was, in”THE SPEECH>”. lies about rezko, lies about his church, lies about his intellectual relationship of 20 years with wright, lies about farrakhan, lies/deception with his rendition of his participation in government and all his “present” votes, lies about his hate filled anti american wife(where has she been by the way?), etc.
bho has gotten 90% of the black vote. NO other group/person has ever had such a skewed percent of a group vote for them, and you do not think that is racist? the 90% vote that has carried bho to wins will not help him in november. those votes already go to the democrat. so what group will give him the edge?
in light of the split in the party and the anomosity it has made, my new plan is for bho to get the nomination, run, loose to mccain, and then BE DONE in the party on a national level(a looser does not get to run twice). Now that would be sweet! and deserved. oh, i have a dream…yes i can!!!!!!!

They are anything but fair and balance and quickly becoming the “tabloid edition of cable news reporting-

Posted by: IA. Democrat | April 1, 2008, 10:58 am 10:58 am

oh fedup give me a break!
I am not filled with rage for hillary. I do however dislike her and all her lies and distortions, just as I dislike you for all your lies and distortions.
You hillary supporters are doing just what she is doing, just twisting everything that is said about Obama, and make everything a lie.
I’m not even going to get into what Obama said and didn’t say, and when, because I know what the truth is. You however, have to twist the issues to make them YOUR truth in all of this.
You call it racism when african americans vote for an african american, whether it be pride or just plain voting for him because he IS black. African Americans have been voting for whites for years….never a word uttered, correct?! Its ok as long as you vote for the white guy. But oh no, don’t vote for the black guy, just because he’s black…..that’s being racist. And I would say that your head is stuck up your butt for even providing that stupid analogy!
And like I said before, you can stump for McCain, and continue to wish Obama loses. But still follow the truth, hillary and bill are nothing but liars, and they are making liars out of their supporters.
You continue to twist what Obama says, but most intelligent and educated people know the truth. And I’m sure they will vote accordingly.

Posted by: LA in Indiana | April 1, 2008, 11:08 am 11:08 am

jenna….as a hillary supporter, try telling the truth once in a while.
Try NOT distorting every issue, then maybe you’ll feel better.

Why hasn’t one of the medias jumped on the remarks of Obama about him not wanting his girls to be punished with a baby for making a mistake. This was regarding abortion – prochoice or against. What does this man really stand for? One day it’s this the next day it’s that. Doesn’t answer any questions at a debate first, lets Hillary answer then agrees or adlibs just a little. IN regard to -”Clinton Camp Praises Fox”
OF COURSE she does. FOX news gives Senator Clinton a “pass” on negative points of concern, while raking her opponnant over the coals whenever they get the chance. An example would be the Rev. Wright controversy. I’ll wager that FOX has played the “Wright” snippits over and over about ten million times. Frankly, I’m sick of it. Granted, rev Wright is an extremist and his association with Senator Obama is questionable and no doubt unfortunate. However, it appears Obama has weathered this storm and I’m watching his poll numbers rise proving this as fact.
As an undecided, I would very much appreciate hearing the facts, bad & good, presented fairly about all candidates. FOX is incapable of doing this. And I’ve recently abandoned FOXNEWs for one of the competing cable news channels.

Posted by: Robert T., Urbandale,IA. | April 1, 2008, 11:23 am 11:23 am

la ind,
man you do have a hair up your …you are as bad as all the media giving bho a free ride through your blind adoration. and you have missed the point.when someone of a given group of people, run against someone of a different group and get 90% of the vote in their own group, it is outside the realm of chance. in this case it becomes racist.
EVERYTHING said negative about bho is called racist by his supporters. blacks know no other way to fight then through race. (oh yea, and if blacks wanted to totally assimilate in AMERICA, they would drop the “african”. that is simply another way to keep yourselves separate from the whole. most races only keep the hyphynation with first generations.)
most people can see the truth, the only reason bho is ahead is because of the 90% balck vote. the rest of the subgoups are more 60-40, 40-60, at most. it is the blind, yes blind, voting of the black population–ninety percent!!!–that has given him the edge. it will not be an edge come november. come november, bye, bye, bho!

Posted by: fedup | April 1, 2008, 11:24 am 11:24 am

fedup, blacks can’t drop the “African” from African-American. It’s a result of the Black Liberation Theology as set forth by Cone and pushed forward by Obama’s church. If you recall, that term really took off in the 80s with The Cosby Show when the cast members used it every chance they got. That show was so mainstream, and Americans so liked Cosby, that it easily became the accepted term. I’ve read some very interesting things concerning Cosby since I’ve become aware of Black Liberation Theology. google Cone and Black Liberation Theology and prepare to have your eyes opened.

Posted by: HoosierSue | April 1, 2008, 11:45 am 11:45 am

Obama is supposed to unite us, yet it’s a travesty when Hillary reaches out to conservatives. (She’s done this same thing in the Senate to get some pretty darn good things done on behalf of the American people.) Obama backers talk about a unified America while railing against Hillary supporters and conservatives. Apparently they’re taking their cue from their leader, since Obama himself seems only to care about “uniting” those who flock to his side.
Obama supporters fail to understand that Obama is a far-left liberal. That’s not his worst fault though. His worst fault is his penchant for dancing around all sides of every issue, changing his stance depending on his audience. He seems to have trouble deciding quite where to land as evidenced by his many “present” votes in the Illinois State Senate.
Obama isn’t ready for primetime, and franky, I don’t know if he’ll ever be. Hillary and McCain are both moderates with decades of achievement behind them. I’ll be proud to cast my vote for either of them in November.

Posted by: HoosierSue | April 1, 2008, 11:54 am 11:54 am

thanks, hoosiersue. i know the on-going anger and inability to move beyond that point in the resolution of a time before any of this generation or the preceeding ones lived has eluded most black americans. i guess disengaging themselves from the whole in order to identify as one(what about black is not one)thus puffing themselves up has a place for them. Just look at kwanza(sp). AND, i know blacks like to say itis getting to their roots. Again they are the only group that 24/7 wants to be separated out.
Now comes bho, mlk incarnate. a god among mortal men.
Guess every city will now have a bho avenue.

Is there any reason Donna Brazile has not declared her support for Obama yet? She sure sounds like Obama supporter in all the shows. Any fool can see through her.

Senator Obama is a qualified candidate. He is a highly educated man who has proven himself as a leader. He has integrety and can unite Americans.
At one time I supported Hillary Clinton but I am disappointed with her mud-slinging tactics and her inablity to tell the truth. I am disappointed with her NOT releasing tAX returns. This is unacceptable for someone running for the highest office in America.

I’m certainly confused about the link, “Clinton jihad against MSNBC,” which was purported to have occured a few weeks ago. Yet the article link was from October 07 and speculated on the various Clinton media associations along with Drudge. The wording, Clinton’s jihad, is deliberately incendiary and can’t really be applied to the article. If you’re going to include links, please have them accurately associated with your article and not later removed.

Donna Brazile has not declared her support for Obama because she has not yet endorsed either candidate.
I might add that Brazile has been nothing but fair in her representation of both of these fine candidates.
She is a highly intelligent woman who will endorse the candidate of her choosing at the time she decides to do so.

Hillary is almost certainly contemplating switching parties if she doesn’t get her way. At any rate, she is revealing the fact, painful for many Democrats to admit, that she and her husband are now NeoConservatives – perhaps many in the DLC as well.
BTW, the notion that Obama is on the ‘far left’ is a just a hoot. That worked against Kerry (John Kerry, for gosh sakes!), but this is four years down the road and we’ve all gotten tired of the labelling game. Obama could be on the ‘far north’ for all I care, I’d still vote for him.

As a Democrat, I never thought I’d watch Fox but I agree with Gov. Rendell; Fox IS the most balanced. I’ve quit MSNBC and CNN and I’m cancelling my Newsweek subscription because I can’t stand the Obama slant from all 3. I’ve lost all respect for most of the media. At least, Fox doesn’t like either of the Dem candidates so they have the fairest coverage.

Remember back in January when Bill Clinton attacked Obama for praising Reagan and courting Republican voters in Nevada? There was also a radio ad they ran in South Carolina attacking Obama on praising the GOP. Google it (keywords clinton, ad, reagan).

Posted by: Cindy | April 1, 2008, 6:31 pm 6:31 pm

Extreme level of unfair attacks by CNN, CBS, ABC, NBC, and obviously MSNBC against Hillary is one of the major contributing factors on systmatic fragmentation of democratic party today. It is so hard to imagine that Obama would have last this long if he was facing such an unfair attack by news/medias. The most disappointing part of this drama is that more the news/medias intensifies their attack against her in order to promote the nomination of their candidate(Obama), more the exodus of moderate democrats chips away from the party base. The fact is, neither Obama nor Hillary can win the genral elction without the strong support from each other simply because large number of their supporters are so loyal to their candidates. Hillary has no choice but go to Fox News because rest of the news/medias treats her like a leper.

Posted by: Shima | April 1, 2008, 9:59 pm 9:59 pm

I just want to echo many of the comments that I read here. I am one of the many Americans who is angry about this election because the media has not played fair. I can barely watch MSNBC or CNN these days as they are in the tank for Obama big time. I think Olberman might even be part of Obama’s campaign. ;) I can’t even believe that I spend so much time watching Fox these days, but I do for lack of other decent options.
The media should quit influencing this race and let the people of America voice their opinion. I have real anger, real resentment regarding how Clinton has been treated. Seems like they are out to get her.
Folks wonder why many Clinton fans don’t want to support Obama. Well I can tell you for me it is b/c if he wins it will not have been a fair fight. He will not have faced the same scrutiny and I will chalk it up to media bias. The media is enamored with the idea of Obama being our nominee and as a result fawn all over him.
I encourage the media to change my mind over the coming weeks. Give Clinton a fair shot before it is too late.

Posted by: jgaw | April 2, 2008, 1:12 am 1:12 am

CNN used to be my news channel, but now, I can’t believe it myself, but I end up having to watch Fox most of the time to get news about both candidates.
For example, Fox broke the Wright scandal and covered it for quite a few days. CNN, MSNBC did not cover it at all until Obama’s speech. Then come CNN360 interview with obama which was a joke because Anderson Cooper did not ask any serious questions. But when it comes to Clinton’s mistake with Bosnia then all networks carried it for days!
I agree with Rendell because at least, Fox beats up both Clinton and Obama.
Yesterday, Lou Dobbs on CNN finally carried a piece on how unfair the media has treated Clinton.
I want the media to vet both of them so that we know any ‘bad news’ now, instead of during the general election.

I bet the actual percentage is higher than 19 percent. Check out the “black” blogs there’s already talk of us sitting out if she continues her dirty tricks. If Obama was in Hiilary’s position (behind with a narrow margin)today and if he was treated by party leaders as well as by news-medias like the way she has beeen treated since the last three or four months then we all know what would be happening in America at this time! News-medias would be branded as racist propagandas, party leaders would be begging for apology from Jackson, Rev. wright, and Sharpton or forced to resign from their jobs, and Hillary would be under investigation for accusation of stealing the election from Obama. That is why MSMs are so brutal to Hillary simply because they can safely do so to a white woman. Since news-medias are playing huge role to put Obama where he is today by praising him even when he smiles or goes out for bowling, Hillary has absolutely no chance for nomination. She would be lot more safer to run as an independent creating her own new party base by recruiting well known people like Powell, Bloomberg, Liberman, Ron Paul, and so on. America is in a need of a strong third party system and only powerful leaders like Hillary can initiate the process.
