Clinton Dodges Questions About Rezko

BC News’ Eloise Harper reports: Sen. Hillary Clinton marched in the Pittsburgh St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Saturday. She avoided a few beads that were thrown in her direction and sailed through few “O’bama” signs and chanters -– but despite that she waved to her supporters and members of the community dressed in green who welcomed the senator.

Clinton spoke to reporters on the campaign plane before departing to go to Scranton, Pa. Clinton was asked about the recent developments with Rezko and the relationship Obama has with Jeremiah Wright. Clinton said these questions should be directed to Sen. Obama –- and when asked if there were more questions to be asked about Rezko, Clinton said, “Well, I think that there are a lot of questions and those questions deserve answers. I know that those questions are beginning to be asked but they should be directed to Sen. Obama.”

Clinton reiterated her position on Florida and Michigan primaries, saying, “I have the same position I have always had. Either count the votes or revote. And it appears as though Michigan is considering re-voting. And we will see whether that comes to pass. And then I don’t know what Florida will decided to do. I feel really strongly about this because, you know, the 2.5 people who voted deserve to be counted. And if it would be my preference to count their votes. But if not, they should have the opportunity to have a full-fledged primary waged for them and re-vote.”

When informed that Obama staffers were meeting in Michigan to decide what to do with the votes, Clinton was asked what she thought the Obama campaign should do. Clinton laughed, saying, “I have no idea. I don’t know.” She continued, “I just want Michigan to make a decision. Michigan is trying very hard to make a decision. From what I understand, their legislature is actually going to consider this next week, and I think that they are moving in the appropriate direction to have a re-vote. Otherwise, they should just count the votes. And if they are not going to do that, then they should give people an opportunity to once again express their opinion about this race.”

Clinton was also asked about why she thought that by winning the big states she has an advantage over Obama for the general election.

“You have to look at what the electoral map is likely to be in the fall," she said, "and I don’t think anybody doubts that a Democrat has to have a number of the big states anchored in order to put together the electoral votes needed to win.”

Clinton continued, “I think it is significant that I have won Ohio and I won Florida and I have won the big states that would serve as those anchors for the electoral map. And I also think its significant because those states represent a much broader cross section of the voters that we are gong to need to win in the fall.”

Clinton was asked to define her role helping to bring peace to Northern Ireland. A reporter said, “obviously you are not George Mitchell,” to which Clinton said, “That’s true, I’m not.” Clinton defended her role and then offered a jab to her opponent saying, “I understand the desire of my opponent to try to nit pick and try to bring people out to say things, but I think the record is very clear and one can look at many different sources.  I don’t know how many times Sen Obama has met with the secretary of state from Northern Ireland, and I really feel very privileged that I played a role.”

Very Presidential response. Thank you Senator Clinton for being candid and above the fray with regards to the bad press and vetting that Senator Obama is receiving.

Such a strong woman she has been treated unfair since Iowa and yet she goes on she will make a wonderful president

Why did Hillary’s good friend Gov. Rendell take $15,000 from Rezko?
Why did the mayor of LA take $7,500
from Rezko?
Why is she in a picture with Rezko?

I can’t believe the Obama camp has the gall to pull down Sen. Clinton’s considerable experience given that he has none.
Since he has now even lost his “judgement” argument (which was lame to begin with) he does not have much scope to make a positive argument for himself.

Privileged to meet the secretary of state of N Ireland – because of being the wife of Bill Clinton and nothing else. Creepish really.

Posted by: Winchesterlad | March 15, 2008, 1:50 pm 1:50 pm

How many people have met the Secretary of N. Ireland? She is exaggreting in order to look as if she was involved in peace making in N.Ireland.
Cheat those who are less educated and voting for you Hillary. The rest are so clever and can not be twisted around as you want them to be!

Joan
She doesn’t have considerable foreign policy experience …I think that is what they are saying…and that has been abcked up by many (the people who have backed her up seem to all be from her husbands team) …not a lot outside of that…and the reporters who consistently flew with her to these places on several occasions have said that to paraphrase “it really was tea and cookies” 99% of the time she went to these countries. and so these other times she is taking credit for… there is no official record of what happened and the ones she has mentioned have been shot down.
and DCVoter… I hope you are right but several reporters have stated that she really can’t go there with this stuff whenever Rezko and Wright are mentioned in the same sentence… because Rezko was a campaign finance guy gone wrong for whatever it was 250k compared to Hsu her scandal which was millions…and her other multi-million dollar campaign scandal lawsuit Peter Paul that she was already fined for)
and it has to do with a land scandal… hello Whitewater…
and this just will open up the flood gates and she and her campaign advisors know that Obama has pledged not to go there to get a higher dialog.

Give the press credit. Their job is to try to build a news story from whatever angle of manipulation works the best. However, the questions to Senator Hillary Clinton did not quite produce the results the press had hoped for.
Senator Clinton showed correct restraint, posture, and experience when she refused to bite at questions that would have been skewed by the pro-Obama press and the Axelrod spin machine.
And, once again, Senator Clinton reminded voters of how November’s election will be won; not with caucus delegates, not with the popular vote, not with the most red state “wins,” but with a majority of the electoral votes.

Well, this is one Irish-American who doesn’t fall for Clinton’s blarney!
Clinton is playing smart politics by staying quiet on the dust-ups of late. She has little room to comment, since the press has been treating her with kid gloves by keeping silent about whitewater and Bill Clinton’s financial dealings, etc…. Lots of questions there that she hasn’t answered.
We can only hope that her day will come.

Obamas chickens are nothing compared to the field of Clinton “cattle” that will come home to “roost” if she gets the nomination.
He has a few small chicken issues… she has massive …amounts of giant chickens.
…but oh yes we are supposed not mention that.

Instead of explaining Rezko they should be asking her about her dealings with Norman Hsu.
Disgraced fund-raiser Norman Hsu did a lot more than just pump $850,000 into Hillary Clinton’s campaign bank account: He also raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for local, state, and federal candidates who have endorsed Clinton or whose support she courted.

The Reverend Wright has no bearing on the continually changing figures of the Rezko campaign contribution figures.
The amount Barak Obama actually received has risen from insignificant to about a quarter of a million dollars. Who knows how much higher that figure will be by August.
However, voters should continue to be reminded of the words of Barak Obama’s “old uncle” and spiritual advisor, former pastor of the church Barak Obama attended and was a member of for over 20 years, the Reverend Wright:
“The government gives them (blacks) the drugs, builds bigger prisons, passes a three-strike law and then wants us to sing ‘God Bless America.’ No, no, no, God damn America, that’s in the Bible for killing innocent people. God damn America for treating our citizens as less than human. God damn America for as long as she acts like she is God and she is supreme.
Barack knows what it means to be a black man to be living in a country and a culture that is controlled by rich white people. Hillary can never know that. Hillary ain’t never been called a n—-r.”
Barak Obama stated he will continue his membership in the Church of Christ where Reverend Wright pastored and was the inspiration for an Obama book.

JJ:Who are you calling a creep. YOU JERK. Go crawl up under a rock. Do you know every sermon your Pastor has preached over 20 years? Do you even go to church? Judge your own household before you come out and judge someone elses. You guys are trying to tell us about Muslims in this country what about you FAKE Christians.

To the Obama supporters,
Clinton has been vetted – remember the $40 million spent and no evidence of wrongdoing? Remember: it’s easier for Axelrod/Obama to create a persona than to have to defend a substantive record. That was his strategy; however, as his friend and mentor likes to say “the chickens have come home to roost”.

It is interesting that Obama has a twenty year relationship with a racist and credits him for many things. That is incredible for me to think that he has never heard him say something negative..PLEASE we arent that taken by him for us not to think about it rationally..Also, another thing about the slumlord Rezco, which he stated in the debate that he only billed 5 hours of work for him..THink there alot more to it than 5 hours..I can see why he wants to stay above the fray…He doesnt want to have people question his character..
With Hillary I know what i get..she is still standing and still fighting for the right things..Not Obama, I dont know what kind of change he wants..

Ken
Hillary has a contributor of the name Hsu have you heard of him…was just rearrested…who contibuted millions… and you should look it up. Isn’t it funny how the press asks this and you all bring up rezko’s 250k and this guy hasn’t been asked about once…not to mention how much he gave to Bill Clintons Initiative
Hillary was fined 35k and has been on charges for a crook named Paul who is never spoken of…and her fine is never mentioned. Paulk is suing her after raising tons of money for her and paying millions for a democratic fundraiser for her.
Stop …your candidate has a very dirty glass house. Leave this argument at the door.
I think the pastor is a horribly troubled guy…he looks like afriggin whack job on those videos…but there are a lot of well know Chicagoans that went to that church that are now saying the same thing as Barack … they were disgusted by the words and actions.

So Hillary is quoted as saying, “I think it is significant that I have won Ohio and I won Florida….” Madam, you did NOT win Florida. A legitimate campaign was not conducted in Florida, so no way was there a winner. If HRC continues to try and usurp the Florida delegates she should be left in the dust.

…and as far as the Clintons not having details released to the press… I bet they are going to start coming as soon as they think that obama isn’t the nominee … marc my words…
what’s his name Fleisher said it last night on Fox…they are just starting to see how they can run against Obama… …they haven’t wanted to knock Hillary out…
but the surge of all this stuff that will pass mostly will keep them in limbo until we stupidly pick sen Clinton.
I get it dogsoldier… I said a few times here on these blogs…he needed to give me an explanation and I need more details… but I have met the guy and her… I really don’t think he is that good of an actor. He I am sure was there…
but I have to say I do have a bunch of crazy almost evil relatives…that I have to spend Christmas with … I also know that I go to church but I have no idea what my pastor says when I am not there… I have a general sense that he is a republican… I mean don’t you have someone in your life that is close to you or a family member that says some things or worse does something that could reflect on you but you can’t disavow them.
Trust me I wrote a really strong letter to Michelle Obama (via) the internet (not that I know her) when i saw it.
I still remember the two candidates I met and … well, I was a supporter of hers until then because I like everybody else had gotten caught up in the thought and the arguments until…well I woke up and saw…this guy who I generally trust…and who doesn’t seem like he is spouting things that were churned out in a political poll watching machine.
That’s all.

jll – so a voter turnout in FL that was twice as high as the primary turnout in 2004 with both Obama and Clinton’s names on the ballot, Obama running campaign ads on TV, the debates being broadcast on TV, the internet being available in FL, … do you really think the will of the voters was not legitimately cast? I am sure the residents of FL would not agree with you and would consider you as unAmerican as those who disenfranchised them on that day and in previous elections… As an Independent, I think the DNC made a stupid arrogant decision to try to control which states vote when… but I wont dismiss the will of the voters in FL because of Dean and the cronies on the committee that decided to have that rule… in any case, the revote will either happen or they will likely compromise in some way to seat the delegates because they cant afford to lose FL to the reps without a fight in Nov

And as you can see for yourself this time around us democrats are merely rounding out into fine fighting form. And when we do get around to you republicans only God can show you mercy because we won’t.

We want Obama not his minister, not his past experience in Congress or Government nor do we care that his skin is black but because we think that he can do the job that we as a country require. Each man/woman carries a vote for himself, that vote is always visible. We don’t want Hillary. She just wants to be president and says whatever she needs to say to get the vote. In the past, each president has made promises I.E. “I will have your boys home before Christmas” 5 years later the boxes stopped, the conflict ended. “Two chickens in every pot” just before the crash of 1929. “Unite the Country” He did, we are all on the verge of bankruptcy. “No child left behind” Now, we have a generation of children with “C” minus of less for the country’s future.
If you search History, those who brought us down always promised specifically what we needed to hear the most at the time of his speech.
HOPE; is a word that describes an opportunity for those who have given up “TRYING”, for a college education, a home, a good job, hospitalization for the family. Hope give a people what they have been lacking, a new found faith and therefore a desire to TRY; to rebuild this country and to focus all the people in America not a people in another country. Sure, we can help but, to take the life blood and give it to another while all of our systems inside of our infrastructure fails. (Bridge fell in Minnesota, what are we doing about it? No one spoke about infrastructure repair employment programs until Obama) That is what kills all hope and any faith that we hadve as a Country. Lets get together without our emotions and with a president that will listen and bring this country back to a competative position in the world.

Hillary Clinton continues to show class and leadership. This article was wrongly title, inappropriately using the term dodging as if it were Clinton who had something to hide, when Clinton stands in integrity on this whole matter. This is another case of “PRESS GONE WILD”.

Let’s get this straight. Rezko is Obama’s problem, not Clinton. Yes, she and many other politicians received donations just like you and I have given to these campaigns. However, there is no evidence showing that Clinton did anything in return.
On the other hand, Obama received more than $100K from Rezko. He even bough the adjacent lot on the property. Just educate yourself on http://www.abcnews.go.com/Blotter/story?id=4392835&page=1

Round 2 of the Iowa delegate conventions are going on this weekend… I wonder what impact the Wright and Rezko issues are going to have on the delegates and alternates? Where will delegates projected for Edwards go? Will the continued vetting affect them once again in June at their state convention? Gotta love politics!
per newsweek:
“On Saturday, the 13,485 precinct-level delegates who committed to the candidates on caucus night will travel to county conventions, where they will select delegates to the district and state conventions scheduled for April and June. (These delegates will then go on to appoint Iowa’s 45 national delegates.) None of Iowa’s delegates–precinct, district or state–are bound to their candidates; a Clintonite can flip to Obama and an Obamaniac can flip to Clinton. “

George – i respect your right to free speech but please dont misquote me LOL you will not ever see me saying God Bless anything in a political discussion… I strongly believe in the separation of church and state. As for accusations of paid bloggers? I was accused of it weeks ago and several people asked me if Obama had paid bloggers and I stated we only have rumors and the Freedom of Information Act may not apply to campaigns to prove it one way or another… as an online professional, I would say it is likely since there are a lot of paid bloggers and moderators all over the Internet… i personally do not get paid to blog but it would be great if i did!… i dont think there is anything wrong with it… it is how the blogosphere works to increase page views that are used to increase the price of advertising real estate etc… but i do think those who are paid to blog should stay up to date… cant take a joke? ok thats fine :)

Florida-Voter106-Are you actually saying there is a state called Florida? Are you? And if you somehow claim to be a state that’s impossible. You did know that the Obama camp and their supporters have given the former states of Florida and Michigan away to some organization called republicans, did you not know? The Obama camp have claimed you people in Florida or Michigan no longer exist.

MattOhio – aside from the hate speech, i find his language like that and the sexual gestures not only demeaning but inappropriate for a mixed congregation (children are present)… it is disturbing that Obama and other parents in that congregation expose their children to that stuff… i think it is good that Obama rejects inappropriate statements by Wright including the sermon about Bill “riding dirty”… but the poor judgement up till now and the lying about not knowing about them until now is what bothers me about Obama as a candidate… i am glad I have always supported Clinton and no longer support Obama as a running mate

The Michigan & Florida delegates should not be counted and there should not be another vote. The states should not have moved their primaries.

I can’t wait until we can get back to real issues of policy, but the press and the Clinton campaign don’t seem interested. As an Irish-American, I’m offended by Hillary Clinton’s “wee bit silly” claim that she contributed to peace in Ireland. As an American-American, I don’t think she should be pointing fingers regarding Rezko, who also contributed to the Clintons.

Posted by: malthusian77 | March 15, 2008, 4:14 pm 4:14 pm

Ray-So your solution is to give FL and MI to the republicans even before the general begins? I’d be interested in your strategy of winning the White House now.

Posted by: Dogsoldier | March 15, 2008, 4:14 pm 4:14 pm

Malthusian77-Gerry Adams, the Sinn Fein leader, told the “Irish Times”that “Senator Clinton played an important role in the peace process” So if the IRA leader say Clinton did her thing he should know as it was the IRA who had to put down their weapons. ANd that’s good enough for me.

Posted by: Dogsoldier | March 15, 2008, 4:21 pm 4:21 pm

Malthusian77; let me help you out. David Hume, respected writer on Britains history and politics as well as a multi award winner, including Nobel Peace Prize; stated that Hillary did infact contribute respectfully to the peace talks and that she was instrumental in many of the ideas that were used. HAAAAA! Spread your lies but we won’t buy from the Obummer walking deads.

Posted by: Johnny | March 15, 2008, 4:24 pm 4:24 pm

Dogsoldier: It was Lord Trimble who called her claims a “wee bit silly.” It is true that she was marginally evolved, but the way she phrases it exaggerates what the historical record shows.

Posted by: malthusian77 | March 15, 2008, 4:30 pm 4:30 pm

The irony of this whole process is that it is over and nobody wants to admit it. On her best day Senator Clinton can not win the 65% of pledged delegates to catch up. This lead was built because her campaign ran a general election instead of a nomination process. This type of mismanagement and lack of vision is not what I consider Presidential material. FL & MI will not likely re-vote. Fl can’t get out of their own way and MI is offering a closed primary vs. the open primary they originally submitted to the DNC. I have a significant problem with the DNC accepting any plan that deviates from the original rules. Her only HOPE is the superdelegates and if they overturn the will of the people (most pledged delegates) there will be hell to pay in November.
As for Rezko and the reverend, if that is the best they can come up with there is no comparison in consideration as to how many dirty hands the Clintons have touched.

Posted by: Lou | March 15, 2008, 4:39 pm 4:39 pm

Malthusian77-Thank you for your response and your civil tone. I believe Hillary did her thing as an American, however, I do believe it was some of her ideas that Gerry Adams meant when he commented on this story as Hillary had behind the scenes access to him during many critical phases of this tortured peace process. And as you know how delicate that process was at the time. Only later did the protestants come on board and Hillary did not have much access to the Ian Paisley side. So I believe we may well be both correct on this issue.

Posted by: Dogsoldier | March 15, 2008, 4:42 pm 4:42 pm

Johnny: “People don’t need a degree and lots of money to prove they are smart.” I’m on record as agreeing with you on that point. As for the latter half of your note, I also agree. I’ve worked hard to make university education more available and affordable to all Americans. Over the past months I’ve participated in a number of meetings between state legislators, government officials, and academics toward that goal. And when our plans come to fruition, and more Ohioans can go to college, I’ll be proud that I participated. But I won’t do what Hillary Clinton has done and overstate my role.

Posted by: malthusian77 | March 15, 2008, 4:46 pm 4:46 pm

PB.. Please be aware that Hillary is more the person you are describing the Obama. Don’t you know when you are looking at or listening to honesty? Arrogance, pride and many adjectives, (Words which subjectively describe) is an emotional or feel that blinds the eye from seeing the real world. Society,is a place where we all live separately, is set up a certain way so we can see things the way society wants them viewed. But if you are at all independent in your thinking and a little color blind, I would invite you to look at what each candidate would do for you. None of them are perfect, all of them are flawed, color and/or race can do nothing for our impending financial crash. We can’t have Bush again, McCain needs an Army (You may still be young enough for the draft) and Hillary would, for sure, bring Bill back into the White House, a violation of Federal Law. So what do you have? You want to kick a man out because his minister is nuts…
makes no sense to me being that drastic about anything… or maybe if anyone hates anyone else racially, we should not elect them president? Then we need to get someone in here from the moon. The Governor of California, you know, the German. We wanted to partitition the American people to change the law that only permits an an American born to run for the presidency. Well, maybe we should change the law so that it reads only WHITE person born in Americacan run for the president. you see we are all guilty of racism because we are separated that way. We don’t know each other, we have great fear of each other, everyone of us think that the other race is of the devil. White and black people, they built this country, yet we fight so much that we can’t see foriegn people coming in here legal and illegally, then fleecing the country and leaving with a pocket full All in the mist of our fighting each other. You know, maybe one of the races Blk or Wht, will win the on going fight but then what will the winner have as a trophy?…. Please, go out and meet someone of another race this year just like I did and once you get to know them, bet you’ll say the same thing everyone else who have dared to have the experience says; “he/she is different than all the others” Not different, you just know that person!!!!
The most powerful country on earth! We can do all things together!

“DCVoter”,
I agree that it is a tease, but for the casual passerby it creates a malicious misdirected message. That being said I think we’ve had a significant change of events as the national discussion swirls around OBAMA’s judgement concerning his ministerial affiliation. I really don’t think the guy can dodge this one. You don’t write off a 20 year affiliation as being some kind of CRAZY UNCLE relationship, and then turn around and put the CRAZY UNCLE on your campaign. This, above all else, clearly shows that Obama is not of Presidential caliber in his decision-making abilities.

Johnny & Dogsoldier: Thanks for the conversation. Now I’ve got to go cook dinner for my wife and kids. We’ll find a way to unite Democrats behind Obama and/or Clinton (and you know I strongly prefer Obama.) Can we do it? To quote both Obama and Bob the Builder: YES WE CAN!

Obama should dropout! America do not need your lies!

Meeting the secretary of state from Northern Ireland is better than nothing, I suppose, but bragging about it is kinda lame.
I once met Dan Quayle, but this is the first time I told anyone about it.

Yet another old bald white guy for Obama.

Posted by: Tom Fox | March 15, 2008, 6:39 pm 6:39 pm

I would really think twice about referring to Obama as a liar when you have a rascist divider who can’t do her own bidding and her soon-to-be-ex-assocaites do it for her. There were pollsters perdicting she would take this course months ago. How predictable.

Senator Clinton is a strong, experienced and sensible candidate.
She is the one I trust to answer the phone at 3 am !!

Posted by: Donna Devine | March 15, 2008, 6:55 pm 6:55 pm

None of this is rellivant.
How does the democratic party put forth Obama when the republicans are waiting with armed evidence to DESTROY him in the general election.
Its INSANITY.
Obama is simply unelectable.
Yes, we know they are trying to ‘damage control’ it and ‘see how it plays out’ .
But anyone with 1/2 a brain knows the republicans have the tapes. The DENIALS by Obama he ‘never knew’ for TWENTY YEARS.
Michelle Obamas anti american comments.
He CANNOT win the general election. Get over it.

not only is it now impossible for obama to win in November, but Senator Clinton is also the best person for the job of President of the United States…….the choice seems pretty clear to any reasonable and sane person….Senator Hillary Clinton for President

14 years and untold millions spent to destroy her personally and politically…..where is Senator Clinton right now? standing, with a reasonable chance of being our next President……I would say that she can take a punch…..neither obama (texas primary) nor mccain (2000 election) can……

Posted by: chris | March 15, 2008, 7:07 pm 7:07 pm

exelon officials donated heavily to obama campaign…..legislation weakened by obama in favor of exelon……what’s the logical inference here?

Posted by: chris | March 15, 2008, 7:09 pm 7:09 pm

Hillary Clinton is part of a larger sleaze machine…she will never make it to the White House, thank God! By the
way, if you cry babies think things are going to get better over night come Nov.
4th, then you are dreaming! It wont make
any difference who is elected…gas will
continue to go up, along iwth food and now Clinton and Obama have voted to let the tax breaks cease! Anyone making $31,500 a year or more will pay higher taxes! What happened to the middle class? They will continue to get the shaft! Wake up and smeel the bu#$%^*it!
It’s election year stupid! Believe all the promises you want to….

Why want you ask about Clinton tax returns. Why is that off limits.Obama pastor comments and Rezko has been known for a year now…why let Clinton get away with not disclosing what her earmarks are for…

In Ohio,Florida and Pennsylvania,McCain beats Clinton and Obama according to latest polls. So who cares about Clintons big states Penn,Ohio and Florida? She loses them anyway. All the while the dems are bickering,Mccain is gaining and will take November.Well done America, once more you put a warmonger McCain in power, and the rest of the world has to suffer. Please grow up and get rid of Hillary so we can have some peace for a change.

I am glad Hillary kept her mouth shut on this one. She’s smart enough to know that he will self destruct all by himself.

Posted by: J | March 15, 2008, 9:42 pm 9:42 pm

Anything the Clinton’s were investigated on turned out to be false. IF there were anything there don’t you think they would be in jail. People keep bringing up all this old stuff that has been investigated over and over and to no avail. My vote will go for Hillary on April 22nd, at least I know what I am getting there.

Posted by: J | March 15, 2008, 9:58 pm 9:58 pm

Ahem — at the end of this difficult week, Obama picked up SEVEN additional delegates in Iowa today, to Clinton’s ONE.
Nobel Peace Prize winner David Trimble (for his role in the Northern Ireland settlement) did refer to Hillary’s trying to take credit for a significant role in the Good Friday accords “a wee bit silly.”
And yesterday we get confirmation from Orrin Hatch that she’s been lying about her role in the passage of SCHIP, too.
It’s about time the media started looking behind Hillary’s claim of 35 years of so-called “experience” — it’s a bunch of fabrications and hot air.
Nobody really knows who she is because she has manufactured a public persona that is not genuine. You can read her ghost-written memoir and come away without a clue about who she is. The same cannot be said of Obama’s insightful and self-revealing “Dreams From My Father,” which provides real insight into the man — and he wrote it himself.
It is my fervent hope that the leaders of the Democratic party like Richardson, Edwards and Gore will express their disgust for Hillary’s lying and her slash-and-burn, party-destroying tactics and endorse Obama, the sooner the better. His steadiness and composure throughout this campaign leads to the conclusion that HE is the one we should want answering that 3:00 a.m. phone call — not Hillary the phony or McCain he hothead.

Posted by: jac13 | March 15, 2008, 10:22 pm 10:22 pm

To quote Hillary from the above article: “I think it is significant that I have won Ohio and I won Florida…”
Sorry, but Mrs. Clinton did NOT win Florida and she knows it. This is one fallacy that should warn everyone about the tricks to come toward winning the nomination.

Posted by: HeckuvaPuzzle | March 15, 2008, 10:27 pm 10:27 pm

HRC says :I don’t know how many times Sen Obama has met with the secretary of state from Northern Ireland, and I really feel very privileged that I played a role.”
This is not fair because Hillary has Sinbad and Sheryl Crow helping her out.
Obama is at a disadvantage be Sheryl Crow and Sinbad are busy shilling for Hill.

Posted by: The Commander Guy | March 15, 2008, 10:46 pm 10:46 pm

The few voters left who aren’t throwing things at Hillary are bent double laughing at her, and her never ending honking and hawking her ever inflated perception of her own self importance. Hillary is so yesterday, but mostly…she’s so done.

Posted by: Rita | March 16, 2008, 1:00 am 1:00 am

This is not an accurate comparison…Wright to Ferraro. She was pretty much politically incorrect and I think inaccurate where Obama is concerned. However Wright’s message was over-the-top and pretty consistant. Obama claims never to have heard it in the 20 years that he attended this church.
Both had roles in the respective campaigns. Ferraro’s was a voluntary position which she resigned. Obama actually put his Reverend in a compaign position after he knew for certain of the “911 is white America’s” fault rhetoric.
I like Obama but he shows very poor judgement and still refuses to prove “commander in chief” credentials.
Instead he wants to tear down Hillary’s experience when he should be trying to beef his own up. I was against the war. I gave impassioned pleas against it. Obama needs to show more leadership skills and stop trying to tear down Hillary’s record.
Hillary has faced unbelievable media bias. She is turning it around without them. I am liking her more and more. McCain is gaining a little traction.
We need to all get together because Democrats need to win in November!

Posted by: Colo | March 16, 2008, 1:03 am 1:03 am

The math is uphill but not impossible. I am thinking we have turned a tide.Hillary is doing better these days. How anyone could take this tory and give it such a cheap shot headline is beyond me. I was surprised to see it on this site.
Thank you ABC for your effort to maintain some sort of journalistic standards as most of our maintream media goes tabloid and favors one candidate over the other here. Although I must admit you were low key about reporting Rezco and Wright you at least were reporting them. Other networks were sitting on them for months.
I do believe that the media underestimates the voter and the blog world intensifies and inflames opinions rather than gives facts.

Posted by: Colo | March 16, 2008, 1:18 am 1:18 am

Hillary and her supporters amaze me. How soon you forget that Hillary agreed to support the Democratic party’s decision to not count Florida and Michigan. Now that she desperately needs those delegates she changes her tune. Typical “old school” politics as fitting as her negative campaign tactics. She has lost this race and cannot admit it.

Posted by: James Gray | March 16, 2008, 1:53 am 1:53 am

How can Obama tout “Politics of Change” whe he was bought and paid for by Rezko. Hillary’s right on–ask Obama, he’s up to eyeballs with Rezko.

Posted by: Maven | March 16, 2008, 5:22 am 5:22 am

Obama was not smart enough to reject donation from Rezko at his earlier compaign. I can understand why. He did not know how bad his dealing was. That doesnot mean Obama lack correct judgement. That actually shows that he is a trusting person and that is a good personality trait. I like Obama. He is a real person, not pretentive, and I can feel his sincerity from reading his books. May be he would not become a president of the USA. Nevertheless, he has run a good race in this primary. He did not use dirty trick to lowgrade Hillary. He exercise self restraint. I like this guy.

What a creepy liar! It is so pathetic. How can he say he was not there!!! and let’s even assume that we accept for a moment that that would get him off the hook. Why would shmuck Wright be calling over and over the name Barrack as if he were the guest of honor being showered with praize! I bet anything he and his wife were right there. the Elite members of a racist good for nothing. He probably was sent a complimentary video copy too.

Hillary is such a classy woman.
Obama should get out NOW and let us unite this party. He would get slaughterd by the Repubs – can you see the Repubs laying off Rezko and Wright like Hillary has – Um no and what does that mean – My friends we will lose the election to John McCain.
For people left to vote – please turn this crazy train around before we all suffer.
Support Hillary, campaign for Hillary and contribute to Hillary so we can win the white house and get our economy back

Posted by: Lee | March 16, 2008, 8:33 am 8:33 am

She’s quiet because she has problems of her own. As a typical politician it’s safer to be quiet until the last minute.
Now is the time to ask the Sen. Clinton what her 35 yrs of experience really is. Now is the time to ask questions about what the American public need to know and are going to ask very soon. If we don’t ask these questions, the republican’s will. Every American knows all of the stuff that’s part of Clinton’s experience like: Whitewater, Travel gate, Monica Lewinsky and impeachment, renting out the Lincoln bedroom, the loss of the Rose Law Firm billing records for nearly 2 years until they were miraculously found in the White House living quarters, removing files from Vince Foster’s office following his suicide and before investigators could get there.
Has anyone asked why she hasn’t released her library records or tax returns? What if she’s hiding something negative that might cost our party the White House? Most people believe she is hiding something terrible. While you guys are deciding the republicans will consolidate and take the white house again.

any true democrat knows that California and New York will be blue states in November – regardless of who the nominee is
The problem with Clinton’s argument is that she includes these two populous states as not going blue in November
Check any poll on Real Clear Politics or Rasmussen or TPM and you will see that Sen Obama does MUCH better against Sen McCain in California than Sen Clinton does
Her argument is flat and false
Survey USA clearly shows Sen Obama getting more electoral college votes that Sen Clinton
The big states are important- but so are all the states
After all, had Al Gore one any additional small state in 2000 – Florida would not have mattered and he would have clearly been POTUS
Look at the breakdown in the NYT this am on super delagates on on the elected Superdelegates of Gov, Senators and Congresspeople: Sen Obama has more commited superdelegates than Sen Clinton
Where Sen Clinton has the big advantage in Superdelegates is with the just under 400 party insiders – most of whome have their superdelegate status through former President Clinton
Do you think party insiders- not even elected officials should determine the nominee of the party?
This is why this politicly manipulative line of thinking from the Clinton campaign is as false as her generous VEEP offer–
These are the fairy tales of the campaign

Posted by: alison | March 16, 2008, 9:51 am 9:51 am

The MSM should be ashamed of themselves on these tax returns. The rolled over and wwent to sleep while Hillary bluffed her way past Ohio and Texas — where the information in those returns could potentially have had a significant effect. Now she says she’ll release them a week before Pennsylvania — WHERE SHE’S UP BY DOUBLE DIGITS!! What a crock!

Go Hillary, go! She’s right, it is time the Obama campaign (we know he does not take questions) provides more information about many things. After reading his earmark requests, we surely cannot afford this guy near our budget.

Posted by: LeighB | March 16, 2008, 10:19 am 10:19 am

It would be nice to have HRC release her earmarks. Who can tell me they have agreed entirely with everything their pastors have said? Such a person must be really silly. The sins of the guilty must not be visited on the innocent.
America and the world need Obama; not a figure who’s been a war-associate of Mcain and only now denounces him for political purposes.
Obama it is and Obama it should be

Posted by: Kingsley L. | March 16, 2008, 10:47 am 10:47 am

If the Dems pray to win in November, the remaining states and Super-Dels should nominate Hillary Clinton. The baggage of hate for our land that Obama has revealed with his pastor, friend, advisor and mentor is simply shocking. This should not be a trivial issue. Patriotism, love and pride of our land is a pre-requisite for even being being a citizen, let alone President. Personally, though a passionate Democrat, I will vote for McCain over Obama anyday. I may disagree with McCain but do not doubt his patriotism for our country

Posted by: American Voter | March 16, 2008, 11:47 am 11:47 am

Obama supporters can make all of these arguments against Hillary they want, but they forget why they support him is because he is “New”, “Clean” and “Fresh”. We all know now that he is just another politician who will do whatever he has needs to do to better himself. I don’t have to list the number of concerns that are now being expressed by many about Obama’s judgement because you already know. So, my question to you is, don’t you feel a little betrayed that Obama portrayed himself to be this new kid on the block all bright eyed and bushy tailed, only to find out that he has been riding dirty like most politicians do? As for me, I already know that there are no totally clean politicians. Thus, I was not fooled by Obama’s “I Have A Dream” speeches. He had people crying tears of joy because they thought God had delivered Obama to the world. He had people thinking that he was all about the “Truth”. He had people thinking that he was really going to be “Different”. Well I hope some of your are starting to wake up and realize that speeches will not solve our problems. We need someone that knows how the game of politics is played.
Obama may gives us “Dreams”, but Hillary has the “Ways and Means”.
Hillary 08

Sure would have been nice if the press would have reported Obama’s real senitments sooner. He would be out and Hilary would be working toward running her campaign against McCain. I agree with American Voter-I will vote for McCain over Obama-as I am an american first and Dem second.

Senator Hillary Clinton has class! She has character! She is a lifelong advocate for the people. She is a fighter. Senator Obama, for all of his talk about honesty and transparency and judgement and change is now being shown as not quite what he presents himself to be. Rezko, don’t know him; well do know him, raised some money for my campaigns; gave that money away; wait, he raised more money than I thought; “boneheaded” decision to go into real estate deal with Rexko; asked Rev Wright not to speak at his announcement for president; speaks of his Rev as mentor and spiritual advisor of 20 years; didn’t know about Rev controversial remarks; never attended when Rev made these remarks. Either Senator Obama has some of the worst judgement in choosing his friends and advisors, or he is disingenuous in the extreme. Whichever way you look at it, he does not have the character required to lead this country.

The Inconvenient Truth!
Just like Nancy Pelosi said when our New Liberal Congress took over last year, that the first order of business will be our troop withdrawals & ending the war. I promise!
Hillary Rodham Clinton has said a serious troop withdrawal would begin “in the first 60 days” of her administration.
The Inconvenient Truth!
Hillary – I was against the War – Until I voted for it?? I promise that I will start withdrawing the Troops on day one, day 60 or……..???
Obama said he was against the war & voted against it from the beginning. Promises to start bringing the Troop home. Now who would you believe & vote for? I believe we have another of Hillary””s credibility problems surfacing.

I am ashamed of some of the people in America we all want to say we are proud Americans and how other countries are so wrong and we can not as a people get along because of the color of ones skin. Shame on you I would like to know how we could and can defeat another country when we are so busy being cruel to on another. why are we bashing OBAMA he is bi-racial so wake up America. Why would one vote because or race or gender? Because we are afraid of anything that is different or are we afraid of ourselves???? Remember the media gets attention when we feed into the junk. We only gets sound bites never the whole story.

Posted by: willa | March 16, 2008, 4:33 pm 4:33 pm

I can’t wait for your guy, Obama, to be President. He will tax the rich, which we will pay for in higher prices and lost jobs. Don’t play that I voted against the war thing…he wasn’t even in the Senate at the time. After he is done bungling the troop withdrawal, he will have us all paying for health care for everyone even when we have it for ourselves. Then his wife can get up and say that she is finally proud to be an American, or is that an African-American. When he is President, who is he going to blame for his boneheaded decisions then, the Republicans and Hillary Democrats ? It isn’t God Bless America, it is more like God HELP America. Do the math, just a little less that half of the Democrats support Hillary. If he doesn’t get his arrogance and self-rightuousness under control, he will lose us, then who will put him past McCain ? The educated Democrats and Independents ? I am so tired of the arrogance of the Obama people…we are more educated, we are obviously better than everybody else, you certainly do not believe that all were created equal. So, you can have him and his crazy preacher and racist wife and your college educations. BTW I have a BFA Degree from a private college.

Senator Clinton is doing what she has to do on all the issues now being exposed on Obama. She is very Presidential and cares about the Democratic Party, not just her own interests. As for me, I do not have to concern myself with responses and now that the truth is finally starting to come out remember, the real truth about Obama will set us free. America, wake up and smell the coffee. Obama doesn’t want his records out anymore than he wants Rezco, his pastor, earmarks, or anything else to come out for that matter. Doesn’t he know by now if, it’s negative information, all he has to do is look sweet and repute, denounce or deny it and the media won’t bring it up again. What a plague on all of us, the mainstream media. FOX is turning out to be more fair in this election than nearly all the rest. Come on media, OB’s not on the level on the Rev. Wright issue or anything else it now seems. He only speaks the truth when he gets caught in a lie or half truth. How much more is lingering out there for Republicans to mo-up the floor with him if, and that’s a big “IF”, he gets the nomination. God help us if he does! Our country needs “US” to stand-up for her now. Our future lingers in the balance of the impending primaries & general election. We need a President to restore our standing at home and abroad. We need Hillary, not inexperience and a very questionable past, and certainly not Senator more of the same, McCain.
