ABC’s Eloise Harper reports: Sen. Clinton reacted Friday night to Sen. Obama’s response ad.
Speaking to thousands of people outside on a breezy night in San Antonio, Clinton said, "Now my oppoent has just put up an ad touting his policy about Afghanistan. But I have one question — he was given an important responsibility in the Senate to chair. The committee that had responsibility for NATO, which is our ally in Afghanistan. But as your heard him in the last debate, he did not hold one substantive meeting to try to figure out what else we needed to be doing to win in Afghanistan, to get NATO more involved because as he said he was too busy running for president."
Clinton also had a slightly new variation on the "red phone" theme she had been stressing all day — bouncing off her new ad, entitled "Children."
"When crises come, and they do, we need a president and a commander in chief ready to make the tough decisions. When the telephone rings at 3 a.m. in the White House, there isn’t a time for speeches, there’s no time for on-the-job training — you need someone with the strength and experience to make the decisions that have to be made."
